Textured Pixie Cut - Hairstyles for over 60 with glasses

Radona will show you how to do a textured whispy pixie cut on a new client. This is not just any typical video that we do today, this is a little bit different. Our client has glasses. Which if you do not wear glasses, you do not realize this difference. Typically glasses make short pixie haircuts stick up funny. It does not lay well with a whispy, spiky short pixie cut. Radona will face this challenge head on and make a haircut and style that looks perfect for glasses. This will help so that neither the haircut or the glasses overpower each other. They work in perfect harmony together.

Hi everyone i'm radonna from boys and girls hairstyles. Today i have a special special client with me. Um she got a hold of me. She'S been watching my youtube channel and her name is brenda. Um super fun, easy to talk to beautiful um. So, of course, the haircut's gon na look good because she's gon na make it look good, but i'm just really happy. She is um from phoenix arizona, so eight hour drive um. She is going through to go to montana um to see her kids and things so anyway. She has a couple houses but anyway, so she is stopping on her way through, and i am just so happy and happy that her husband, let her right, stop and do this. So that is super fun uh, but her haircut is going to be awesome. She wants something, really easy um. She says she wants to throw some product in it dry, it um. We are going to do it. She wants a little spiky here, so it will last her and then, as she grows it, she can just wear it more. You know like longer like this like it is because it was darling when she come in. She has a little bit of curl um and it was super cute and she said she hadn't done it. So it's it's cute when it grows out too um all right. So for her neckline, i am just going to come in here and go on an angle. Okay, so you can see that there's going to be longer pieces in between she's just gon na we're gon na. Do this just a little bit wispy back here, not a straight cut, so you can see i'm just opening and shutting my shears okay, okay, and if you need to fix that after it dries because sometimes um, you know necklines dry, just a little bit different. Then you can fix that after you dry it. Okay, then what i'm going to do is start up here on her top you're going to want to find out how long or how short they want it um. So a couple inches here an inch and a half to two inches is what i would go um, that's just enough to have spiky, but not extremely short, um and it's funny because you know everybody's inches. I like like, if i'm chopping, hair off and they're like well, i want like four inches like hey. Show me your four inches, because it's funny different, you know, even though an inch is an inch everybody like pictures it different. You know it's kind of funny how that works. Okay, so i'm just coming around this way, um. We are going to take a little bit of this bulk out through this area. So that means i'm going to come kind of straight down from this last piece here. So you can see i'm taking that length and then you can see this bottom see it's right there, so it just connects okay, then you can just do that. I'M gon na come back up here. Same thing, point cut into that and just follow that guide point around okay and then we push that up. This is so fun, i'm so excited so we'd been texting and stuff and her getting an appointment is just it's just so it's fun. I can't believe you're here brenda. It'S awesome, super fun. Okay, so keep that kind of close to the head. Um and, like i said, see that bottom. That is the length, so you just come into that length. Okay same thing here, you can kind of see. I'M just pulling it out from her head this way, so not back just kind of out and then a 90 um straight out, because that's going to give you the length you want when you know, when you're drying and styling that hair, you can just kind of Pull up at it and it won't be bulky in any of that, because you're you're taking some of that length off. Hopefully i explain that decent, i i get talking and i'm like. I can see it in my head and no, but sometimes i'm like okay, hopefully that didn't sound confusing. My kids will always tease me. Well, we thought you meant this and i'm like you can't read my mind like how did you not know? I was thinking this or telling you this. Okay, so see, i'm still coming straight out from her head, not back, i'm coming straight out from the head and your color's gorgeous by the way. Brenda thanks love that that that'll make the haircut look fun and and good too. Okay, we're gon na go and cut above the ears so right here, i'm gon na just fold that ear down and i'm going to come this way cut there and then on the sides. I'M going to come in this way cut some of that length off every other one, just because it's wispy um, you could come straight down if it's straight across. You can just keep your scissors coming that way, but since we're doing it a little wispy, that's how i like to connect that okay, all right now, i'm gon na come on this top again and hold this up 90 degrees from the head. I was so happy it was beautiful weather for her to drive, so that was a huge plus huge huge plus see that bulk that i'm taking off there um. That would be really nice and brenda when you dry, it it'll just fall into place so yeah that helps a ton and i think isn't it funny once you have short hair like that, if it does get a little bulky, it's like! Oh, it's just it's too much to handle yeah. It'S like i got ta get this off. Okay, pull this out and again by holding that out. You can see that guide point right here, that's the length of that bottom layer and then you can let it go and that's that length down there. Oh yeah, you see all that length coming off your sides, i'm so happy yeah! Yes, so funny when you're like taking it off you're like yes, i don't even have to deal with that anymore. Okay, so same thing. Here i'm going to just kind of move her ear and right here you can see that i just kind of go straight, but then down in here is where i come in kind of piece that out just a little bit just so it's not super straight okay. Um one thing that i like to do is double check, so that means i'm gon na come up. I'M gon na come up this way, so i cut it horizontally and then i'm checking it oh vertical. Now i'm going to go and i'm checking it by going the opposite way that i cut it and that way, you'll see if there's any extra long hairs, sticking out that you'll you'll get them. That'S just a way to make sure everything is connected right. So you come up perfect. Okay, now just put that down into place. Okay, now up here now she does like her bangs a little longer off to the side here, so i'm going to show you how to connect um the spike up to longer in the front. Okay, you're going to come from the spike here: okay, you're gon na angle up so right here you can see that is her longest piece right in the front. So you want to angle up to that front piece and take all that off in between, but getting getting to that spot it will still drop along okay. So again, just hold this up. There'S not as much on this part just because i have taken the the main part off middle part. Okay, same thing here come up on the angle. Okay, now we'll come on this side, you doing good, i'm doing good sweet awesome. I feel the weight lifted off of me, good good, it's funny how that feels. It'S a real real thing. I love it. Okay, now i'm gon na hold this by her ear. Okay, you can see where i've cut back here, i'm gon na kind of hold this. I'M not going straight straight up out a tiny bit, but i point cut into that: okay hold this up. Okay, and you can see here, i'm coming over to this top layer, see that that's that top layer, so you just connect your sides and come up. Okay same thing out, just a tiny bit point cut: take this and connect that top layer. It'S great okay, point cut! Okay, just point cut into that a tiny bit because you want. You know that length on that side. So just be careful with that and then connect up with that top okay. Now we're going to come right here, cut by the ear kind of comb back down forward. Okay back on that ear - and i can see - i want to show you guys this, so you can see how this is a little bulky right there. I want to take some of that away, so i'm going to hold this out and that's what's nice about these sides um, you don't have to go as short right at first, you can always take a little more um just until you get to know their hair. Okay, now i feel like i need to take just a little bit more through here. So what's fun too is you? Can you can start to see, especially if you guys cut hair? You know there's just different hair types um and i love to just kind of play with it and see see what it does. Just like that side. You know i thought we'd want it just a little bit longer, but i just took some more off of it. I feel like it will just lay a lot easier for her. Okay, sweet all right now, this side same thing, we're gon na hold out, and i come close to her ear, like i'm touching my fingers by her ear. Okay hold this up. Now we're going to come connect up here to this top layer, see there's that top layer right there, okay, again, okay, perfect now same thing: just gon na hold that down that noise. Isn'T that the best that cutting sound, that is so funny i just get so even when i was young like just hearing the scissors like in a salon or something i could just, i could have sat there for like hours and just watched and listened. It makes me want to hold still oh, that is adorable that is so cute. I haven't heard that that one that is a good one yeah it makes me want to hold still that's a smart one. Oh that's cute too cute yeah you're, like hearing all that i'm gon na stay, as still as i can cute. Okay, i'm just gon na clean up again like by her ear right there. That'S so cute makes me want to hold still that is so awesome. Okay! So you want this front lung also yeah, it could be okay, yeah sounds awesome. I'M just gon na come in take a little bit just so it's not just all this long. I just want to just kind of texture into that, so it stays longer. But it's not so heavy right there for her, because it probably gets heavy huh, probably feels heavy, pretty fast, okay same thing: here i'm going to come up and come on an angle because that's what can happen like you know, she's doing a a longer bang. Sometimes they can get bulky heavy and then you feel, like you, have a bang and then something back here. So as long as you like with the length, but if you keep them texturized and you know just thinned out enough - it's just it just helps lighten that. But then the look is so cute to have it long. Okay, now i'm going to hold this out okay and i'm going to come in and i'm just gon na take little chunks she's like chunks, huh hang on assistant. No, i'm just kidding it's not that bad! I just i just like it to be not so all one length. Yes, movement is good huh. So all this top just kind of come in make it different. You can see how it's different lengths just come in and do that just a little bit. I know we've cut the main i just like it a little bit piecier. Of course, i like to check the sides sides a tiny bit longer. That'S funny. We should have asked her husband if he wanted to go like feed my kids or something for dinner. I just think that's so nice of him. That'S fun, fun fun! Well, this way he doesn't have to buy me anything for christmas. That'S so cute! This is her christmas present um. That is awesome. So he's probably like okay, that's checked off the list. She'S gon na be happy because, honestly, like when your hair feels good, we feel good right, and so at least he's you know, he's got that down like good i'll. Let my sweetie go get a haircut and feel better because it just makes everybody's day so um me, i'm just holding this out if you feel like anything, needs to be cut or different, um go for it. Okay, that is good. Now i'm gon na take the texturizing shears um. This is super fun because it's gon na give it lift um and it'll help. You can see how see how our hair kind of comes down once i put this in. So if i do this like this and it's it kind of stays down, when i put this texturizing through her hair, it actually is going to lift a lot easier for her and a lot of people. You know you don't need a ton um and some people. It scares like my mom, still doesn't like it after 25 years, but she she does it because she knows it helps her hair stay in okay. Now, oh, i was going to show you guys so see you do that see now it stands up and i'll turn this way, because i think i have it that way. But you know it was just kind of flat when i did that. But now, when you do this, it just stands up more and that's those little hairs in there um and so like she says when she throws her product in and she goes to dry it. She can just dry it and it'll kind of stay up with that. Texturizing, okay, so root lifter, absolutely a huge thing, especially if you want, like obviously volume up here, you want it lifted. Okay, you do that. I swear to moose you've seen this before brenda. Can i watch it? I love. I have to get everything i need to fix my hair tomorrow. That'S so cute, i love it. It makes a huge difference, it's funny people say well, i mean hair, just it won't do anything and i'm like so like. So how do you style it? What do you put in it and they're like oh? Well, i don't blow dry it. I don't really put anything in it. I'M like! Oh well, there's your answer perfect like if you don't. That'S, definitely why it's not doing anything, but some people just don't like product. You know what i mean, so it just kind of depends, but okay and then i put the volume and lift spray in it, and you don't need a lot just a little bit: okay, so back and forth here: okay, so um just going here in the front! Just kind of drawing that kind of up this way which we're going this way, but i want some volume for that area. Okay same thing: this way we're going to go back up this way and then, of course, we'll bring in the epic brush and go back and forth. Oh that's so cute! I can't wait to see it. Okay, sweet, okay, now flat iron, just like to bring these pieces straight up. So how far will you guys make it tonight? Are you we're just gon na go another 50 miles, oh good, good, guys, the hotel that we usually stay at, and so we kind of find our perfect ones that we feel comfortable in and just right, just stick with those huh yeah cause. It makes a huge difference when you yeah we've, we've stopped at some that we've wished a window yeah one, the one time we had to leave. It was super bad, but anyway you never know yep, okay, so after you take the flat iron and i'm just bringing it straight straight out, yep exactly straight out straight up, okay, so, instead of the clay, yes, i can still cry because the clay is gone, but I have been using the styling paste um, it definitely isn't the clay, but it's doing an okay job, i'm trying to get used to it. So i use about this much okay, um and you might have do you have a clay or a paste. I have a paste yeah, okay, so you're you're used to one okay, perfect, so yeah um and she might even once i get this style. If she wants her bangs a little shorter, we can go a little shorter, but where she wants them a little longer, you know you don't dare go too short, but and it's kind of fun, because once you get to know somebody's hair, you know how much, but Where i'm just learning hers, i always like to keep things a little bit longer because you can always take it off. Just felt like it wasn't, didn't have enough, okay and then just with whatever i have left on my fingers. I'M just going to come down here and you can see how cute that is pieced out. Okay, now, what i'll do is bring in the pin comb and do some back combing through this area in down and out kind of like a c-shape that will always help keep in the back combing and and it's crazy, because if people are having a hard time With it um and i'm going to turn her, so you guys can see so i like to just spray where i'm back combed and then i just like to place it into place um but yeah. It'S kind of crazy um with back combing. If, if they're struggling i'll say you know, can you will you back comb your hair for me and they kind of feel weird but they're like uh sure, so they do it and then i can just give them a little hint and a lot of times. You think that, you're anyway, you go back out of what you have backcombed um. That'S usually what happens a lot of the time? Is you just go up and down so it like, whatever you've done down, you're going back out. So if you just take that little bit of you know kind of bring it out this way, it will really help stay in and if you guys don't have like a pin comb like this, that has you know a lot of you know three rows of the Little spiciness then use a cone and use the the fine tooth, and you can back home with that. That will help which a lot of you may know that, but it can be just a little little help. Okay, i'm gon na back home under here. Just a tiny bit: okay, you're almost getting to see it and it's cute. I love your pink and your pink. I love pink. I love it. I love it. Okay, all right, i'm going to turn her to the mirror, so i can see um what we've done. I always have to use my mirror to see what i'm doing, and so, when i'm doing it this way you know my house said i always have to turn around okay. Oh that's cute is that okay is that favorite yeah much better to have good, oh yeah? It'S darling: okay and your bangs they're, okay, yeah yeah. They are i'm. I could. I could trim a little if i needed to before i get back here, so, okay, so you're good to trim those. That'S awesome. I love that. That'S cute, okay, sweet! I will i'm um, i'm so glad you love it okay, so i'm just going to spray this and then i'm going to put the gloss line on it. It and then i'll turn her around. So you can see the cute and result all right turn her around. So cute i love it. I love it good, i'm so glad! Okay, you guys! Thank you so much! Oh thank you you're! So sweet. I appreciate that, but i really am grateful that you, let me record it and that you came and that you chose this for your christmas present. That'S so cute! I love it, but anyway thank you. Brandon, your sweetheart, and thanks to all of you for watching and finding me because you're watching it's so fun like i just have anyway, i've met so many amazing people. So anyway, i appreciate it and we will chat with you. Next time see ya. You

gypsy 3077: I LOVE LOVE LOVE that you didn't give her a haircut "for women over 40, 50, 60, 70"!!! All the haircut/styles I've seen online "for women over à certain age" are so FRUMP WORTHY. If I had to wear an old lady cut I'd just dig the hole and get in. This is so refreshing and it gives me HOPE. Thanks so much for such an inspiring job DONE WELL. I'm à licensed hairstylist looking for my best new cut/style (for myself). Thanks so much again for making and posting this video.
