When I taste the song a little guys and welcome back to my channel, if you are new here, my name is Regan and I am an American who live in France and most of the videos I make are about France but little hold to nice day. My most popular video is in second, when I uploaded that was five things I learned when I cut all my hair off and got a pixie. So since that video I have moved to another country, I have changed jobs and I have been trying to grow out. My pixie, because if you have a succeed, you know just how expensive it is to get it cut every four to five to six, if you're really brave leaks, so it has been a long process. I started growing out my 60 about six months ago and I started with a pretty classic boy pet and now I'm trying to like circa 2006 soccer-mom and then should I help make it too involved. But it's like a very, very, very long process. So today I actually want to talk about the most annoying and the most frustrating things about growing out your pixie, because it feels like it is the longest process ever if you guys agree with any of these things or have you have other things you have noticed? Make sure to comment down below while you're watching the video, so first, when you decide to grow out your pixie, it takes a little time. Like I said I get mine cut every four weeks. Sometimes five, I'm lazy um, but the first step is to not cut your hair and it's sex because I feel like it becomes instantly awkward. You start to loose the shape you no longer wear. I know how to style it. I have six straight hair, so mine is kind of six. There is not a great thing to see and because it's so awkward, the second thing you always want to do is to just cut it. You want to just give up. The temptation is so big to just say: okay, I am just going to keep. I succeed against. This is too freakin difficult to grow it out, but then you remind yourself, oh no, oh no. I committed today I'm growing out for a reason, because it's expensive, so I got ta, stick to it and I just growing it out as you're being patient, there's no way to avoid it you're going to get the classic Justin Bieber, so loopy, bull, cuts and decisions. It'S not right, I know no. When was that big, like 2007 2006? Oh no, I was in middle school, but the thing is it's not cool today and there's no way to avoid it. You'Re gon na have to rocket and you're gon na figure out how to style. It you'll also notice that, as you grow out, your hair you're going to take it all the way back to the 80s and you're going to have a mullet a little meeting with, because obviously you want longer links on top and you want to shorter link them Back as you grow your hair, but they're both growing at the same speed, so you really start to notice an inch in the back a lot more than you notice an inch on the top. So because you starting to get this moment, you've got to cut it. But when you cut your hair and make you go back in time and you lose progress from your pixie growth looks like a catch-22, because you have to maintain like some kind of shape that you all just don't want to mow it. But you're also like trying to grow your hair and it feels like it takes forever, but but you've got to get it cut and that's just the thing is it feels like when you actually have your pixie if you like, your hair goes so fat when I Have a really short pixie. I wanted to get it cut every three to four weeks, but now that I'm like trying to grow out, I feel like my hair grow so slow, like. I don't understand how you figured it cut that often right. How did it grow that quickly? No one like I do my haircut for four months and I felt like nothing happened and the last thing that you, you kind of learn or you kind of discover when you are trying to grow. Your pixie is what I call BPS now you think I'm thinking like BFF, but no instead of BFF, you get bps bobby pins for life bobby pins, become your new best friend as you're trying to deal with this awkward like bull cut that make it not look Like a bull clapper like somehow looks good and professional, it's nearly impossible, but here we are today. I started growing my now me six months ago and I haven't read it on this progress, but I'm remaining hopeful. I just got it at maybe two weeks ago, my first cut since I started growing it out. If you want to see what it looks like before I got it cut, you can watch my new year's resolution, video and you can really see the mullet coming in. If you guys have a chip for growing out your hair, if you have grown out at 16 before where you're in the process - and you have some magical magical life thing to do, leave me a comment below or if you have other frustrations. Let me know otherwise. I will see you next time, bye, guys

Regan Shorter: I saw a photo of myself with a pixie yesterday, and I'm so close to chopping it again. The temptation never ends!

Heatherwitch: ALWAYS CUT THE BACK TO AVOID THE MULLET. I am on my THIRD time growing my hair out, and the key is always to cut the back. Yes, you may desire the length, but because the back always looks longer, it's easier to just chop it and keep it looking shapely and somewhat dealable. The second time growing it out has been the easiest this far, and I barely used any heat at all on my hair. Less heat, cut the back. Those are the two keys.

Sabi: I didn't have my pixie very long and I already decided to grow it out. It's not that I don't like it, I love having my hair like this - my problem is that my hair grows TOO fast. I'd find that after 2 or 3 weeks my hair was already getting to the stage of needing to be cut again, but it's just so expensive to get it done constantly. I'm currently at the stage of being between a long pixie and a bob - but I struggle so much with styling it which makes me want to cut it again... ahh the struggles ;-;

Jellyfishi: When I hit the stage of wanting to recut my pixie I went and had my hair recolored and it really helped it made me feel soooo much better and if I have to get it cut I tell them I’m trying to grow it out and show them what I’m going for and it really helps and they help shape it better as it grows

StarlingofAzerath: An idea is to get a 1/4-1/2 inch undercut on just the bottom layers in the back where the mullet happens. It keeps layers on top untouched and takes weight off as you wait for the front sections to catch up.

Liz: I went full fledge pixie back in march but everything was seriously short, even my bangs. I really agree with the mullet part and how it seems to take forever to grow after you've decided to grow hair out. But my one serious annoyance with mine is that it seems like my bangs just don't want to really grow or they're doing it at a snails pace. I feel like if my bands would just grow out to my eyebrows or a little past already I could slightly give up my BPFs.

DisasterDraws: I got a pixie cut and after a few months of letting it grow, i stared to get a mullet. I got scared of cutting it and go back to square 1 so I decided to let it grow a bit more until i put it up to a small ponytail. I then start to use bobby pins to stick back extra hair thats pokes out which is basically my sides. But it does work and it still looks cute as you can let your bangs hang out to style it a bit. This is a tip for those whose to lazy, scared, or just unable to get your hair cut!

Danny Borissova: I am a firm anti-mullet girl :D I am 3 months in a growing out of a buzzcut (I had 2 millimeters of hair). Now I have 2 inches in the top of the head and low faded sides because I really don't like the mullet stage and the weird hair above the ears. My advice is to style your hair, don't leave it to grow and be weird 1 year. And be strong, it's a long journey, baby :D

Phani Vázquez: When you regret it just like me, its a complete pain in the ass let it grow, you hate it when you see it in the mirror, you wait everyday to see if it grow something in the night... time moves very slow... anyone like me?, i feel you sister

Bianca Rivera: lol i cut it every two months, I just cut my sides and my back reaaaaaallly short, and I leave my top/bangs long, basically a undercut. This is how I manage to extend the time before my next haircut, but I loooove my pixie pixies are beautiful

Abby Gonzales: I totally get you! I have been growing my hair out since January and it has been SUCH an annoying process. I've been able to handle most of the awkward phases relatively well, but some days it's just like GAAAH! But then I remember my days of braids and curls and persevere. Here's to pushing ahead!

Cory O: I just had my husband shave the undercut and left the top alone. The top looks like a bob while the undercut (haven't cut it since last summer) just looks added layers now instead of a noticeable mullet. So I decided just to leave it all alone until this summer. See where all the length is then cut it. Glad I did that. When I straighten it it looks like a bob and when I scrunch it you can't tell there is a mullet

Amy Dennison: Clips, Bobby pins and hairspray will get you through it! Just keep trimming the back and let the rest grow... You will be to a bob before you know it! I'm growing mine out too and I'm 46. If I can do this, so can you! Just keep going. You're doing a great job!!

Maki: Oh gawd, yes! I've grown out buzzcuts, pixies, undercuts so many times in my life. Currently I'm growing out an undercut so I whacked all my other hair off to match it, in hindsight, not the smartest of ideas Sooo now I'm chillin' at the mullet stage once again... My hair is so stupidly thin I only look good with short hair, though, so it'll probably end up here again and again until I die, which will probably happen when I have a mullet and that'll be how everyone remembers me... Rofl

Lisa Beckstrom: Just got a pixie cut like a month ago, already worried about growing it out! Thanks 4 the advice! :)

zoë: I’ve had a pixie for a little over a year and I’ve started the process of growing it out!! trust me, I love love love my short hair , just getting a tad bored. currently have a mullet rn

Leah Condon: To help grow out out your hair, I recommend giving yourself head massages every day (4 - 5 minutes) Wash your every every 3- 4 days, and add an oil (Olive oil, coconut oil, etc. leave it in for 30 minutes and then wash it out. ) Lastly you could deep condition your hair with a mix of coconut milk and honey, once every week. Then wash it out. Hope I helped I'm also trying to grow my pixie out and it's working well for me!!

Kat James: I can't believe how short it still is after six months. I hope mine grows faster.

Aleida Gibson: too avoid my mullet I shaved a high a line. long in front. super short in back....but its still awkward. I'm 3 months into growing it out. and I miss my hair so much

Ruth van Hulst: I never had a pixie, but my I had my hair cut to jaw-length. I'm growing it out now, and I'm so glad that the awkward phase has passed. I can almost make a succesful ponytail now :) And yeah, I have the mullet problem too

Akshata Rai x: I had a pixie with a side shave and I decided to grow it out because I missed braiding my hair and the sideshave growing is the most awkward phase ever like it just pokes out and doesn't sit and is impossible to tame also my hair is starting to look so unkempt that I'm thinking of chopping it off again but gotta stay strong x

Norah Byers: I'm currently growing out a pixie cut... it's about shoulder length now. My problems: 1. The back flips up in a weird way. 2. The front is straight and healthy but the back feels dead and wavy. 3. The front and back are different lengths. Thankfully, it's finally long enough to put in a bun. It used to be shaved all around but long on top (which was flipped to the side and it reached my chin.) My biggest problem when it was short was that people always thought I was a boy... I didnt mind that though. I usually put my hair up but I like to curl it when I leave it down (to avoid the weird flip in the back.) Sometimes I feel like cutting it off again! Sorry for the long comment... any suggestions? Help!

La Femme Chiquita: I'm in the process of growing mine out as well... so frustrating! it helps that I have naturally curly hair to camouflage some of the awkward growth!

💚 Amy-Lee Angel 💜: I cut my hair to a half inch 6 months ago and now I am growing the long dreaded mullet. I was debating on whether I should just grow it out instead of cutting the back.. BUT, I've changed my mind after watching your vid. My hair is starting to resemble Florence Henderson's mane from The Brady Bunch... lol.

Lina: Hii, i have a pixie cut too and i think about to grow my hair out. Its not like "uhhh i dont like my short hair", i love my hair. But the point is that i dont want to cut my hair shorter. It is difficult to explain. Should i let the length or grow it out? sucks to make the decision ❤️ Like your video <3

Kimberley Wood: What’s worse than growing out a pixie? Growing out a curly pixie! That’s me! I have naturally curly hair and cut it into a pixie after a rude hairdresser botched my hair. That was nearly 12 months ago. I’ve been growing out my pixie since then and my hair is now in that boofy stage where it grows outwards before it grows down. I’ve been getting trims every 9 weeks, mainly at the back to avoid the mullet.

Aisha de bont: This is so relatable! I'm going to the hairdresser tomorrow to get it cut one length yaaayyy still short but i've made it

emz: I’m 4 months into growing it out and I’m constantly flipping between ‘it’s getting there’ and ‘fuck this I’m cutting it’ multiple times a day. It’s so frustrating and so slow but I’m hopeful.

TheStyleIcon: Wow I never realize how hard it would be to maintain a pixie hair cut, I always thought having shorter hair would be easier to maintain. You have to cut your hair every 4 weeks?! Wow that's so frequent. Also the lighting for your video is great, you look great Regan :)

Lorraine Joseph: I had a short Perm 19 months ago. Also very short. Now my hair is pretty long only a lot of layers. But ï like those. It gives me shape. Since i am pregnant it grows fast. I cut it every 3 months now. It grows so fast i cant keep it up. Maby you could pin it kind of up to style it.

Shokyo: When pixie starts to tickle ur inner ear....yeah fun fact bed hair is extra af when growing pixie out LMAO

Mangoboo: I don’t cut the back because I kind of want a mullet. I am just letting it grow naturally with no products. It has grown really fast since I stopped using products on my hair. I do straighten my hair because it’s curly but to point out.. STRAIGHTENING YOU HAIR DOESN’T EFFECT YOU HAIR GROWTH it might just give a lot of split ends at least that’s how my hair is like. I just heard about this The back of my hair is to my shoulders but the front of past my chin.

Kassandra Jewel: My hair is naturally curly and i cut it to a pixie. It'll be a year since I cut it, i havent touched it since. Right now its almost down to shoulder length! Once thr front part is a bit lower, im going to cut it all to one length I usually just tie up my hair and bobby pin it up, so i can get away from the mullet pretty easily

Kate Parker: The trick I've found is trimming it yourself! Which is terrifying, of course, but the more you practice, the easier it gets! Just trimming that mullet section helps SO much, and as you got closer to a bob, it's the fringe and section in front of your ears that grow way faster that the section behind your ears. I would go in every 3-4 months to get it shaped up, but trim the problem spots myself every 2 weeks! Another thing that helps is making your look feel balanced by wearing makeup every day and all your favorite clothes. That way you still feel like you're taking time to look polished! Clearly, you've already discovered that, as your makeup is flawless

Stephanie Renee: I've had my pixie for about two years and I've decided I've gotten enough wear out of the cut but my issue is my bangs are quite long and they're covering my right eye unless I adjust them every five seconds and I have to resist the temptation to cut it and they're just not quite long enough to tuck behind my ear. Sooo annoying >.< it's definitely a waiting game and a test of patience lol

SoSabbiful: I've made a hair appointment today intending to get a pixie cut. But i have thick frizzy hair and I'm feeling super nervous. This hair looks amazing on you! I definitely think you look just like Winona Ryder! Thanks for the helpful video :) <3

cherryblossom: I'm in the stage between pixie and bob also. I used to style with paste back in the day, but at one point that didn't work anymore, just made me look greasy. So now I'm back to my favourite hair product the dry shampoo xxl volume from batiste, I have fine hairs and a tendency to get flat and greasy, I love this product. I do have some wave in my hair, and that saves this hairstyle sometimes. My tips for keeping the mood up in the outgrowing stages: celebrate every centimeter you grow out, don't let the hairdressers go crazy on you. I just got someone in my family to chop off the back hair, but if your hair lies straight, you may need a real cut, just not too much. My plan is to get all layers grown out to a bob length, then continue. The good thing is that I like the bob, so I'll be at a good stage for a while. My biggest tip though is to stop thinking about the hair for a while. LIve your life, wear fun clothes paint your nails play with a dog, and suddenly when you weren't looking your hair got much longer

Rebecca Shields: Took me over five years to grow out my pixie cut, just got the annoyance of growing out bangs now

Sprinkleofblossom: I love how you said you get it cut every 4 weeks, I always end up stretching it to 3 months! It looks awful by the time I am getting it cut again!

Abby Womack: I'm using Doterra shampoo & conditioner as well as their root to tip serum & mine has grown almost 1.5 inches in 2 months. Normal rate if hair growth is 0.5 inches a month so I'm doing good!

Beary the Bear: Every year I cut my hair to a short bob and it takes exactly one year to grow it out to my waist. I want to try a pixie haircut this year

Aliya Hasan: I'm trying to grow my pixie out. The thing is it's so long in the front and so short at the back and I hate that style. So I'm getting it cut and styled again short at the front and long at the back. Patients is a virtue

Mosb: I remember when I first got my pixie cut and I would dream that my hair was back to long and I remember I was so sad about it being long but now when I dream of having long hair I’m sad it’s still growing out. I decided to grow it out and it’s taking sooo long

Aliya Hasan: I thank you so much for making this video I always find a new style for my pixie as I'm growing it out and you reminded me not to cut my hair thankyou

Karen's Kloset: Growing out a pixie is easy all you need to do is purchase a wig and And once your hair gets to the stage where its no longer a pixie then you can discontinue wearing wig but I bet you start enjoying wearing wigs because they're so versatile and easy to take care of ... Just a thought thank you for sharing❤

Peepee Poopoo: One thing i do is i have an album of photos i take on the first of every month. It helps me see how much my hair truly is growing and i don't want to ruin my progress

Erin The Insomniac: Just found your channel, love it - you are so bubbly!

méprisant: I chopped all my hair just to try at first and eventually I really enjoy my pixie so I didn't want to let it grow which is so ugly on me haha Soooo I tried to learn how cut it by myself maybe if you have time you should give it a try ! You are soooo pretty tho !

Josie Ortiz: So frustrating loving myself through the process lol

Khayla Liu: I recently decided to grow out my pixie cut but it got really awkward really fast because my hair is naturally extremely curly so this process it really hard

DNeese The Runner: Headbands!!!!! They've been my saving grace in growing out my pixie!!!!! Life savers!!!!

Audra Jones: I got my pixie cut 4 days ago and I hate it. I feel like an edgy soccer mom, and like my shoulders are giant. Luckily I didn't cut it too short, the front part is about to my chin, but I'm already gonna grow it out. This year is gonna entail little to no self confidence...

Hybrid Boy: I love the fact that i can cut my own hair xD (so i can keep a short cut without so much money ) , its funny that a short style is some times more expensive than more hair xD

lilililil: I HATED the justin beiber faze with a passion!!! I found out that I could tie my hair to make it look like a half ponytail/ top knot...but God it was a pain

Lexi Bun: I wish i watched this video before i trimmed my hair . Oh boy

movi3srock: Your makeup is flawless in this!

luckyDancer100: It’s akin to growing out bangs. You assume bangs will grow out fast because you get a trim every few weeks. But when you start really growing them out, and they’re literally in your eyes, it takes months & months just to tuck them behind the ears!

хилер: Yeah i have a pixie cut and can't wait to grow it out i really want to have that short hair kinda above my shoulders ugh so much waiting

Sas: I've grown out a pixie so many times. The mullet can be pinned. If you don't it will take longer. If you don't it will take forever. Give it two months after pinning you will have a shaggy bob. Don't cut the longer bits! Promise it's worth leaving it. Remember that's the length. Pin all the way.

Livier Cardona: Everything you said is so true. Graeting from Mexico

Hallie Kesegich: i had a weird pixie cut. i had long on top and shaved sides and shit idk. but my most annoying thing right now is the back of my neck at night. i had to switch to a silk pillow case because cotton was too annoying. also i can pull some hair back in a tiny ponytail but my sides aren’t long enough yet i’m on month 4-5 and it’s already pretty long. i’m super excited to hit one year on july 9th 2021

Melissa Heying: Growing out my pixie since June 2nd (the day I got it cut..lol)

Keira Karton: my hair grows so slow .. I only need to go to the hairdresser every 2 months ;-; I decided to grow it out last year and ... yeah no big progress so far

Manuela Parisi: Regan, I love your videos about pixie, I can totally relate to everything you say! You are very very pretty! And very nice

Skye Travers: I have a faded hair cut and omg it’s the worst thing I’ve ever done but now I wanna grow it out

Alex Aspioti: Best way to survive this face is to get it cut every 2-3 months to give it a shape, use less heat and more products that nurse your hair so they won't have split ends and for got shakes don't wash your hair every day, the oils that come out from your hair are actually good for them and with some baby powder or a dry shampoo or hair spray you are getting one or two more days of not washing them and look like a normal person, have been growing out my hair for a year now and it's gone from pixie to a little longer Bob style by doing this things

Gay Creature: I love my pixie! But.....the boys in my school say I looked better with long hair

tribian: I want to get a pixie but I’m scared I’ll be too attached with growing it out because of these videos :(

Kristina Crnjak: It took me 4 years to have shoulder lenght hair (and to have all my hair at same lenght).. sorry for bad english hahah❤

Alejandra Cheryl Olvera Chavez: I want to grow my hair back....Reasons 1.My hair back looks funny in the back. 2.I have short side burns, but it's groeing out it looks weird. 3.I can't hide my dubble chin anymore. 4.I have to ware makeup to hide my fat on my face....... But in the same time I think I look cute.I got inspired by a movie character Twilight and her name is Alice. And also I got inspired by kpop boy bands especially Bts.

Alyssa: I feel like beanies and hats are a good thing if your going through an awkward hair phase slap a beanie in style the front (or bangs ) and good to go!

Amber Morales: i'm growing my pixie hair it's already on the 4th month, and i have no idea how to cut a mullet, should i cut it straight? cause it looks like a tail at my back

Mae Amelia Gray: Anyone have any experiences with sewn in hair extensions?

M M: Wah... saya lagi berjuang 5 bulan ga potong rambut. Rasanya berattt yo never giveup, keep semangat

Luna MarronCamille: Teatree oil apple cidar vinegar oil mix for dry scalp and hair growth 2-3 times per week and coconut oil

bAnnAna: I'm growing out my pixie, I didn't cut it 4 months

Crazy Leaf: I cut my own pixie regularly :-D

Millie Cerys: You look a bit like Emma Watson!

LusumeTheTeifling: Mine looks so bad so I just wear beanies beanies are my best friend more than anything

van madhu: My hair in the back is at a bob length and my front hair in the front is almost past my ear so soon I will have a bob!!!!

Sas: My hair just looks like a helmet as it grows. It's so straight!

B. K.: I've got a mullet and it sometimes gets on my nerves:(

Nera: you look so, so, so much like emma watson!

envyrem: I'm growing mine out, and it's the WORST. My hair will now only part directly in the middle and there's no way to style it. The middle part wouldn't be bad, but I have one side of my hair that literally sticks out like a wing on the side of my head. It looks ridiculous. I've tried flat ironing it, wetting it, drying it the other way, wearing hats, headbands, but to no avail, she's there, and she's staying. This morning I woke up and the back of my hair looked so long it was ridiculous. I can put it into a t i n y little ponytail. But the top is still so short. I just want it a little bit longer. I want short hair, just not this short! It's pure agony. I wanna look cute, but I can't with a 5 inch wing sticking out the side of my head.

Jasmin Jade: Im growing out my 2nd pixie cut and its a pain I can't do any but I am putting my hair up all time as I look like a tit with it down x

Cristina Fiaschi: im pretty sure Im gonna get a mullet so i have to get my mom to cut the back.

Jeske Wijers: my hair get curly when it passes my ears so now it just cruls outwards

Melanie Marmion: its harder for me cause mine is SUPER curly and it just looks so wild and has no shape whatsoever.

Victoria Mendiola: omg the little mullet in the back! i have one rn lol its annoying cause if i wear a scarf it indents then my hair looks weird >-<

betterwithbitota: I love this!

Gucia BlueBlack: I am growing out my hair too and btw I like your voice

Youjin park 안녕하세요: The back of my growing pixie cut is a mess because I have curly hair and so it curls in the back making it look like a greaser hairstyle

Lauren Salvatore: I have pixie cut its longer on the sides and shorter at the back it will be really painful to grow it out again cause the back grows faster than the sides and it gives that awkward style it's really annoying :''v

Jennifer Moore: do you think a pixie cut is the best cut for letting your natural hair color grow? i dyed my naturalky blonde hair red for a year and i stopped dying it 6 months ago. my roots have grown 3 inches or so and I'm so frustrated because i just want my blonde back without going to the salon so I'm considering a pixie. i figure with a pixie i should have most of my blonde back instantly...but i really am nervous! i have a bob cut now and going shorter sounds like being dared to jump off a cliff lol. what do you think?? (:

Donna Kok: Lol i get my pixie cut every 7-8 weeks

K G: Growing out a pixie is the fkn worst!!!!

Adudewithachannel Lifeisgood: Your voice is so cute and friendly, you sound like a character from My Little Pony!!

Tillie: But I need my Mullet! It's the only progress You sound so cute btw! ❤

tiggy hawker: I have an pixie and I have my hair cut every 8 weeks

Josie Ortiz: Yes mine is horror I’m in I don’t know how to style it!!
