Welcome to mom life crisis the dad how to edition this is my husband Nick. If what are you going to teach the mom life crisis viewers today, well they're both watching? What do you want to teach them? Trust me: some wives are watching give themselves a haircut. Sorry not to make that awkward for you, he cuts his own hair and he reminds me all the time how much money he's saving us, how much money have you saved us in the last 15 years that a forty years, if I spent 50 bucks a month On haircuts, that's okay! So a man's percent return of interest. Okay, so men learn this technique, so my hair is short right. Now, though, so I don't even cutting the top, but I started off learning how? Because I wanted to stay for 3 bucks - and now I started to learn - was using a mirror. The double mirror thing. The first haircut did not go well, but it's only a few bad ones and then you're good. So I use these cheap wall Clippers, but they're like the best ones for like 20 bucks somewhere 30 bucks. So I use these and then I just learned by looking in the mirror learning the whole thing. That'S all do it, but normally what I do is just use the number 8. That'S the tallest guard I'll put that on and Betty how long I'm on my hair, I use my fingers. You know cut my fingers, but I need it longer my hair's longer, but my last haircut, I used an eighth overall this, so I use an eighth to get all the top and then I fade it in, like probably the worst hair cutting principles ever doesn't say. I do it so I don't need to use an eighth, but I probably need, can I go down and I just guess on the next height so next one if I want to fade it down from here, it's like really short here then I'll know. I got ta go like four three two one regards, so the guards have a number, the bigger the number the longer it is, and they're color-coded for convenience. It'S very convenient, so I'm gon na guess. I need to use a four first. If you need to practice the start and you can see if you're a babe is like terrible using them here, so they have a hard time. You know demo here. So I just looking in the air I can hear it's cutting and I'll go for just come up it all the way around and by now I know my flat top of my head, where I stopped cutting up and the knowledge knob make sure you don't cut That knowledge knob down here and now I want you to tell everybody who trims your neckline at the bottom right. I'Ve been doing that since college. Thank you cuz. That was a two. So my first haircut, the guard fell off and had a shaved head. Is the price paid by that three and you can hear it again like inserts go if I need it good, like check it out. This is how I learned: let's just hold this here. I didn't see where that's going so Nikki used to cut his roommates hair in college and they totally trusted him until the day he decided to leave one of them with a tail and he had no idea for how long all days. Just because when you look like this, you couldn't see it like this, he couldn't see it. So he's a really nice tail. No, no! My number two, I just check just look to make sure it's faded. However, you want it, it's not the worst little horse babe. So Maddie's number one the one broker might buy better walk Clippers. These are like the crappier crappy wall Clippers, but you can adjust the length in between to make it like a one-and-a-half, so I usually will do like putting our squirrel all over one and a half. It'S easier to fade, I think, once you do a one, you have to be pretty good, it's hard to fade it one I just go all over. I just turn it up when I get to this point and turn it up and away from my head, so it doesn't like here's, my knowledge now markers so don't cut it off dumb husband. I like do a little. I go over this a bunch because I have one. I don't want any lines to be there and I turn my head, so I can see if it's off now you look in the back and see I screwed up and I can see like far. This is darker yeah that looks pretty good from the back no looks terrible, you should have. Let me go. I still like to see when there's a line where it sticks out ourselves turn no other way. It'S pretty nice. You find someone to trust to trim your neck. It'Ll be same. That'S even really really crappy Clippers, my flat spot on my head, where I was dropped as a kid a few times, and that is how a man can cut his own hair. Thank you.

ben ilak: Followed your instructions. Ended up with 50 extra pounds of solid muscle, mostly in the chest and shoulder regions. And arms. Probably my legs too, haven't checked yet. Also my hairline grew back and beard filled in the cheeks more. Basically look just like the guy in the video. Now I'm gorgeous, thanks.

CoopyKat: I've been cutting my hair this SAME way for about 20 years now. I started because I got frustrated going to cheap barbers that would just snip tiny bits of hair off, then I'd get home and it was still too long. So I got the clippers to "finish the job" and eventually I just TOOK OVER my own haircutting. Works great.

Sparra: This is actually one of the better videos I've managed to find. I used your method to do my son's hair..... best cut he's had so far... AND..... now he can try his own

Miltaire: Thanks for your tips. Always get worried I’ll mess up when i clip my own hair, so seeing yall do it so casually gives a lot of encouragement

bluerider 098: Just gave myself my first haircut and thanks to your video and a few others it turned out good. Appreciate it.

OXBADCODE 657: Man from all these self hair cutting videos i finally got the courage to cut my own hair,i am 16 and it came out pretty good honestly, thank you for sharing.

barlow2976: Thanks for the encouragement, I'm all set to take the plunge. My wife's having none of it, so I'm going to be doing my own neck line. Good job my shirts have big collars. Don't know what she's worried about, I used to clip our spaniel's hair, he looked great, and hopefully I won't look like a spaniel.

knifebunny: wow mate, this is exactly what I was looking for. A no bullshit approach that works and is clearly demonstrated. Thank You very much for uploading this.

Chris Sorah: Thanks for taking the time to show us how you do it! You two are awesome.

pacificnorthwester: Great tute, thanks. Did my first one 3 weeks ago. Came out looking like a dog chewed on my hair, ended up just cutting everything real short. Ready for second attempt today. This helps a lot.

Janos Merges: Thank you! Did it according to your recipe. Looks great.

Ken M: Been cutting my own hair since 1990...you pretty much nailed it for the video. Thanks for documenting it.

Eugene Nadyrshin: That actually as pretty easy to follow and I'm actually quite amazed how well it came out (I went into this expecting to just trim it all off :D) so thank you for an informative video

Nic Clark: Amazing ‘how to’. Can’t wait to try it!

buzzukfiftythree: I've been cutting my own hair for years. a) get a good set of clippers; b) a full range of comb attachments c) a good-sized hand mirror and good wall-mounted mirror situated in as good a natural daylight as possible. I've DIT cut flattops, buzzcuts, shaved heads. Just takes practice.

Sean _: You made it look so simple, ordered my clippers - hopefully I get the same results ….

Luke Scicluna: Tried this way and very happy with the look. Keep posting!

000 000: I’ve been cutting my hair for about 21 years now. I don’t keep it as short as you but, I still use that same technique. I go over my hair twice a month.

El Arms: For the neck line I bought a template on Amazon. It's like $12 and that way you can do your own hair by yourself.

Marc Landry: Heck Ya. Thanks for showing me how easy that was. I did it (alone) and it actually came out not too bad. As for the neck trimming, I used a patch of hockey tape as a line. I set t up carefully and then went to town on everything underneath that line of tape. Kinda like when you are painting stuff. No more shameful COVID-19 haircut for me!!!

Spiralmoss: I've a similar look to this guy too, he's quite creative and innovative, him having a supportive wife is great too, Wishing you both a long happy life together

The Suave Lion: Thank you so much very well explained!! I have problems doing the back and top

Grizzly Country: I used this for pointers on how to cut my hair. I wet the top and cut it finger length with scissors. Basically whatever hair sticks through my fingers. I then did the sides like he said, but I use some shorter lengths. Then I finished up back in the mirror. What's sad is that I've been paying $20-$30 every haircut which was every week to 2 weeks and I not only think I give myself better haircuts than the stylists, but I've been getting asked who cuts my hair lately cause they've been doing a great job. Now I'm just cutting my own hair from now on and saving money.

Nathan Spiers: Fun fact: your knowledge knob is called your EOP or external occipital protuberance. External= outside Occipital= bone that forms the bottom of the cranium Protuberance= bump Your traps muscle and a really important ligament that runs all the down your neck attach to the EOP.

Sean James MacLeod: Have been doing this for years it’s still hard to cut your own hair. Fading is hard for sure. I still mess up then have to buzz it more.

James Duncan Johnson: I have been cutting my own hair for years. Went to a barber a few months ago for the first time in years. Honestly, the cut looked great when they finished, but when I got home and showered it looked, well— plain. My own short cuts at home aren’t the most stylish, granted, but after a week or two they look the same as a professional barber’s job. My family teases me that I’m cheap. It’s not about the money per se but the principle of the thing: why pay a lot (these days everything is expensive— even neighbourhood barbers) when I can do it myself for free for basically the same result?

Nathan Kendrick: Thanks! Success for me following your instructions.

Corporate Media Control Your Opinion: Real men teaching real things.... Thanks bro...

Mono Lito: straight to the target, best self haircut vid in my op thanks MOTC

Stratoleft: One thing I've gleaned from this, and watching this video and finally cutting my own hair. That question being, why haven't I been cutting my own hair AL LONG TIME AGO!? Anything I could add to this, is all those hair cutting scissor that come with the electric shears or whatever, are completely worthless. I have a set of Kuhn scissors I use that cut through plastic bottles like it's nothing. They ain't cheap, but fortunately I already had a pair. The outside edges are beveled, including the tip end, but take heed.. They will cut you good if you're not careful. Anyways, it works for me. Since I'm not female, I don't know how women would approach this stuff. I just know it works for me, and I no longer have to depend on some twit at a barber shop who may or may not be in the mood to cut my hair while she, or he, is running their mouths to their buddies. Finally!

Jack: I just cut my hair at 1 in the morning. Thanks dude. Doesn't even look that bad. That will save me like a billion dollars by your calculations.

A Person: I still revisit this video to this day..... a priceless haircut tutorial..

KingJustice98: You have to have the right looking head and face to pull off this haircut. I leave a lots of hair on top, short on the sides. Not all haircuts look good on all men, same goes for women. Can't really explain why, but it's definitely true. Same goes for shaved heads.

Salv Barber: Well done video. A bit more in depth than the one I done, haha, and definitly more views than mine.!!

Faye' Holloway: Thank you, I'm going to try this on my husband. Im tired of cutting it the same way. Lol yes im learning

Jerry Montiel: I cut my own hair. Been doing it for 5 years....now a pro at it !

poa8946150: Excellent help. Many thanks for sharing.

YumYumOutlast: Yeeeeee, my wife will thank you hahaha she don’t wanna cut mine tonight so I’m gonna try this out.

Dutch Bishop: I’m gonna do this! I’m tired of paying 20 bucks for a crapy haircut

Gerry Rodriguez: Dude, you rock bro. Your video was very easy, infact too easy. Thanks once again.

Stephan Wang: I am glad I am not the only one who cuts his own hair. My son helps the back edges

Jean Hsu: Thanks a lot! Really nice and cool teacher. I'll subscribe for the next episode :D

marciefree: How long will that last ya? About three weeks? Your hair looked great in the beginning too. Great job. It’s empowering. Thank you for making the video you guys. MF xoxoxoxo

Aster Ginete: Thank you so much. Just bought a clipper yesterday.

j freed: Wow, his haircut looks pretty good, and I'm jealous of his company!

John Anselmo: Hey Guys, This was very helpful, since I never did this before. I just need to trim my sides and back. I am leaving my top the way it is. thanks for this. John

A. A.: 20 years I am cutting my own hair and these are good tips. Good job.

Rich L: Good video, helped a lot. Thanks

ross bennett: Watched this yesterday for advice for my first ever own haircut at 43 years of age.. needless to say I was bricking it, but I took my time 40 minutes to be pretty precise but it worked, my usual hairdresser said it was a good job done but my wife is raging that I didn’t make an arse of it...so I think I will home cutting in the future...

teabee: Barbers never cut my hair the way I ask them to and it never turns out like I expect. Screw it, I'm cutting my own hair!

Donnie B: Very helpful! Thanks

Yea Right: If I didn't have to go to work during this whole pandemic, I'd actually try this. I'm going nuts not being able to get my hair cut.

IrixGuy's Adventure Channel: Cutting your own hair saves money. My wife usually cuts my hair be she is quarantined in another state. I just cut my own hair. It's actually quite difficult. I'm going to go lower because mine has different levels. That's why I found your video. Sub and Like added.

RJ Carter: Nice job. I prefer a #2 guard top, and I suspect that's easy to do, too.

Bradley F: Oh come on! This guy would look FINE in any haircut

Milton Ordenana: thanks for the video! I'm going to try with more confidence now

Jiraiya Sage: Good starting point. I would add that people that want to try this to hold the mirror using chicken wing technique because it gets tiring holding the mirror or hang another mirror at the opposite side. But yea, watched this video and I got a nice haircut for free.

VIRENDRA DR: thanks ,excellent .love and regards for teaching us

mbsec: The dude would look great even with a bald cut. I look like Uncle Fester after this tutorial.

supreme action: I already saved $220 this year on cutting my own hair. Too easy. I will never pay for a fade again in my life

1flybyguy: I started cutting my own hair after a haircut and tip started running me $25 every 4 weeks. I do just as good a job and my savings has already paid for the tools.

E Fox: If you're paying $50/mo to get a buzz cut you've got other issues.

Asghar Ahmad: The previous comment was spot on as I was thinking the same. Nice round head ears well pinned back so this has to be a doddle. Some of us may not be so blessed so cutting hair is much more of an effort and not as simple. That's life.

Saboth: Meanwhile, when my wife goes to get her hair done, one visit costs like 1 year worth of my haircuts.

Jordan Worrel, MBA, SCCC, CSCS: Hey - What changes at the “knowledge knob”? Do you know thats as high as your lowest guard, or? Honestly loved the video (commentary included ). Thank you guys!

World Traveler: It’s same technic as I use for past 20 years, I knew I wasn’t alone cutting my own hair but I started because of my social anxiety that I get at barbers shop not sure if there is others like me!?

Joseph Perez: I’m just trying to get my hair to look like where he started.

Norbert Demanuele: I have to do this! I'm a bit nervous to try but will save some $$$. I'll give it a shot!

ROIDO: I don't do any line ups myself. I just fade and leave it like that. Nice and easy.

The Humphreys: why do you do the steps down from a 4 but then go over all those areas again with the 1.5? Is it different than doing it all with the 1.5 from the beginning? thanks

pointnozzleaway: I'd kill for a pair of those clippers right now !

DaveKoehler1992: I'm confused on on something why are you going from 4, to 3, to 2, then just go over all your sides with 1?

O. Bottechia: I was never happy after getting a haircut at the salon...you pay $20 but they have no sense of styling your hair, I said fuck it I'm buying a clipper at Target! I am now a happy man with a great haircut whenever I feel like it, its super short at first but it grows back and its all good plus the money stays in my back pocket.

C B: Thanks, thats a great explanation

EricFu 2016: Thank you very much for your video!

LJ: You could’ve just started with a 2 and then a 1 only half way up all around seeing as you took the 2 all the way up to almost where the 4 stopped.

SKY-1: Super. thanks for sharing God bless you man

germanshepherd13: I ditched the mirror decades ago and go by muscle memory and the sounds of hair being cut. good vid!!

Forever Contrarian: Dang, there are some totally funny comments on here! Great post! My fear, since I am more than “socially distanced” from my stylist. This mullet thang ain’t working for me, but the fear of looking like ET, has me more than cautious. As powerful as this fella looks, going “close crop” would probably look best....

Tonithenightowl: Handsome as all hell and can cut his own hair. If he can cook, you hit the jackpot lol

NJA 3: The Rona shut down my $12 barber, again. My hair thinned over the years, but I used to use a #3 all over, never swapped guards. Well, I’m about to try it again, but my Conair clippers sound awfully loud, and just to test I tried a #6, which cut some hair, but I’m not sure it’s working right. The Wahl sounds right, like mine used to sound. I think I’m just going to buy another one.

Janko Mirović: Where in the world do you pay 50$ for a haircut

E Nelis: It looks great but how do you cut the hair on top ?

Scott Lewis: I obtained a nickname for myself, the first time I tried cutting my own hair. PATCHES. Some people asked if I had cancer or something. LMAO; very thankfully I informed them "nope".

bondnaruto: great tutorial

Trey Battles: Just started cutting my own hair, the barbers on base fuck my hair up every time, and this is a good way to save money.

Steveoqotsa: My missus bought me some clippers & I don’t think I’ll be using a barber ever again,I picked it up really quick, seem to get a pretty good fade & actually enjoy it!!

Seng Yang: I cut my own hair since 2006 not about saving money but no one can cut my hair the way I want it.

Kako Behnke: This is unfair. First, he has all his hair, a very good head shape and he is also a good looking man. Shit! And I'm bald and ugly ... Nooooooo!!! hahaha Good job, dude!

Sitting at the dock of the bay: It’s only a few bad ones and then they are good. Great. Here we go....thank you

philly car keys: Knowledge knob ? Ok. You can do your own neckline with the two mirrors. Also, the number one can be fade tapered by turning the side to an angle.

714amancio: All these DIY hair cut vids are going to make barbers obsolete after the Rona chills out

Jessie McCormick: Who the hell spends $50 on a haircut?

MIke Caldwell: Gave myself a haircut last night and it turned out pretty good! When the salon opens up again I am going to the lady at the salon and let her know I don't need her anymore

Krupal Vithlani: This technique looks insane ;)

C Spann: Just used my wifes old dog clipper. I don't look as good as the dog but at least I don't look like Cosmo Kramer. I gave up caring about what people think of me long ago. My head feels better inside and out and that's what counts. If I get good at this I may only need a haircut once every year or two.

Groove Master: if i had a husband that looked like this id be thankful he cuts his own hair! dude is pure chick magnet...youve been married too long...what did this guy look like 15 years ago? score

Voodoo_1-3: This helped me out so much being in the military this helps save a bunch of money

Mrj: Just did this and my wife paid me $50 bucks with a $50 buck tip if I promised never to do it again

GreenTeaRex: Fading is the easy part. Actually cutting the top properly to how you want is the biggest challenge imo. It would be awesome to see him fixing the top too.
