Hi everyone welcome back to my channel Dana decided. It was time for another hair tutorial. I just had my hair freshly highlighted and cut a couple days ago, so I thought I would show you just a couple of changeups that I had my hairstylist do this time in preparation for some possible changes at the next visit and if you stay tuned to The end I get so many questions about what colors my stylist uses in my hair, so once it's fixed and you can actually see the color, I will explain that at the end, so let's go ahead and get started with this tutorial. Alright, so I'm going to just roughly comb through my hair and I'm going to use, try to use minimal product today, because I'm gon na be wearing my hair a little bit flatter. So I don't really feel like. I need quite as much product I'm gon na use the wellö root shoot. You could also use the catwalk root boost, just don't use very much, so I am going to just put a tiny little dollop like that, and I'm gon na put this right here at the crown, because this is where I have a cowlick and I need a Little extra help and directional help with my hair, so I'm gon na push just a tiny bit more take this through the bottom part of the hair and the sides, and then one more little bit I'm going to put this right here. I know a lot of people say: I use a lot of products in my hair, but I really don't use too much of each one. That is the key, and each one has a distinct purpose. So next, going in with the pure argan oil, because my hair is freshly highlighted, I did do a mask today and I'm also putting this on. I just really feel like the first couple weeks after it's been highlighted. I really need that extra moisture, so gon na put this all through the hair, concentrating a good amount here at the front and then just distributing the rest around ok. So now it's time to blow dry, my hair, I am using the airflow concentrator I like to do this. When I wear the sides in the back flatter. I think it just helps with the direction as I blow dry. So let's go ahead and get started. So now that my hair is dry, you can kind of see a couple of areas that I had. My hairstyle is change up just slightly and it will become more apparent as the hair grows out to the month. But one section was right here and I know many of you have told me you struggle with that section of your hair being very flat. Do you have a cowlick there and what I think we've discovered is that this section needs to be not only just slightly longer but a little less texturized, so it had gotten too much texture and had gotten a little short and ironically, I couldn't get it to Really behave very well, so I can already tell just by having that little extra thickness and length there. It'S already laying much flatter and obeying the direction that I want it to go, and then here in the front, even though I've just had my hair cut, you can tell my bangs are already really long, and then I did have her take it in just slightly Here on the sides, and then the back is much more kind of blunt, but still feathered on the edge so that it doesn't just kind of stick out at the bottom. So let's go ahead and finish: hair styling I've got my flat iron set at 370. I'M just gon na take this through the top here and as I was blow-drying you saw, I was lifting these sections because I just wanted to give a little extra volume and lift there, and now I'm going to just take my flat iron and kind of do The same thing so not really even going through all the way to the ends there and then just right here. I'Ll just touch the tips, kind of pull this down right here, I'll add a little extra lift here and here on the side. So I don't really feel like. I need to do too much work, but he's gon na pull this through slightly and you can see my hair is looking nice shiny. I have a video coming up with my favorite products. Hair care products, especially after you've, had your hair color treated. It'S really important to really moisture as well, so that's coming mm-hmm all right and here on the sides again I feel like. I don't need to do too much. I'M gon na attack part of this. Behind the ear over here on the side, I'm just gon na bring this forward just a little bit and yeah just go through the crown again just a little bit, maybe one more section here. So what I like to do is, after I think I've done with the flatiron just kind of comb, the hair in the direction see if I'm getting the texture that I want and make sure that the hair is laying down. And then, if there's any sections like kind of right here, I've got kind of a little bit of a curl going its own direction. I may take it through there and just kind of redirect that hair just slightly and then right here at the crown. I am going to pull up this hair right in the middle of that cowlick and just pull my flat iron through so as it continues to grow out this month. I think that's really. The area of my hair is going to obey so much better. I hope alright so now going in with the enjoy dry wax and if you've watched my hair tutorials. You already know about this stuff. This is my favorite, but I do get a lot of questions about how much to use how to get it softer. I'Ve got a bunch of videos down below that. I will link, but because I'm doing a straighter style - and I don't want too much product - if you can just see - I just barely - have a tiny little bit and now is the key. You want to work this into your hands and, depending on how warm the product is to begin with depends you need to work it between your hands. It'S been over 100 degrees here for a couple weeks, so my product doesn't need a whole lot of working to get softened up. I'M going to now just brush this through the back here and then bring some of that product through the crown and I'm just just taking my fingers back and forth like this to distribute the product towards the ends and then I'm going to take just about the Same amount of product - again, maybe a little bit less, and now I'm going to use this here in the front this whole front section. So I first start by just kind of scrubbing at the scalp and then I pull it through to the end so kind of distribute through the hair and then we'll create our texture and peace. Enos as I continue to work the product through the hair and then here on the sides, I don't have to do too much, but just going to add a little bit of fluff right here at the top, and then I am going to tuck part of this. Behind the ear here - and I think I'm gon na do the same on the other side and then as I get to this back cowlick part, I'm going to take what's left on my hands with that enjoy dry wax and I'm just going to press my fingers Right at the scalp rub and then pull up, and that is going to help give you a little more hold and and a little more volume there at that normally flat part of your hair. Okay, now I'm pretty happy with where the hair is at currently. So I'm going to hit it now with the Aussie, instant, freeze, hairspray and just short bursts, is the key and don't hold it too close to the hair, do two to three and then go through and piece the hair into place before it dries, and it does Dry rather quickly, thus the name instant freeze, let's see and then right here. I think I'm just gon na get a little extra hold and lift right there and through the front, because this is always the section the wind's blowing or whatever needs a little extra help. So let me check out the back okay, so here's the back right now and I just kind of use my fingers just to give a little lift and then I'm gon na hit it with hairspray. All right - and here is our finished look now, as I mentioned at the beginning, I get a lot of questions about what my hair color or what colors my stylist uses. It'S pretty simple for me: the dark that you're seeing is my natural hair, color and my stylist says it's about a level five point: five ash brown, dark ash Brown and then the highlights she gives me. She uses straight bleach and she uses a very high volume. She is not afraid to go in with 30 to 40 volume and she does a ton of foils. So if you've not seen any of my salon visits, I will link those down below and you can see exactly how many foils I usually end up with, but the key is really. If you have dark hair, you really have to have a high volume bleach in order to get it this bright of blond. Alright, so that wraps up this tutorial, I hope that you enjoyed it and that it maybe helped give you a few tips to try with your hair, especially if you are like me and you have that dreaded cowlick at the crown of your head. Hopefully the tips. I shared with you today will help you and possibly your stylist and know what changes you might need to make to help that work better. Thank you, as always so much for watching be sure you're subscribed, so you don't miss out on any other tutorial and I'll see you next. You

Connie Reno: Just love watching all your tutorials!! I also love the still shots at the end! Front, side and back I take the stills on my phone to my stylish so she can see how she needs to cut it. It's so much easier than trying to explain the cut. God bless you beautiful lady for putting yourself out there for us! ❤️⭐️

Cindy Brown: You’ve tweeted it perfectly, Sharalee! I love the longer bang, and your stubborn cowlick is exactly where mine is. This was so helpful! You look so beautiful. Sending my love.❤️❤️

Vivan Colemire: I enjoy your videos so much, and have learned so much from you. I had mentioned to you awhile back that I ordered the dry wax from one of your links and received a wrong thing...it was not a wax, but a thick goo. I finally got the right one and let me tell you....it is a game changer! I love it and what I can do with my hair. Thank you so much for putting another link that directed me to the right product.

Home with Kelly P: Awesome tutorial! I thought something looked a little different in your Ulta video - it looks great! You have a fantastic stylist who is able to tweak this perfectly for you. Love it!

Snels: Another great video! ☺ Thanks for the tips...I've got a stubborn cowlick, too. Will definitely be trying this.

Jessaca Kordsmeier Redd in a state of Namaste soaps: Cute! I’ve actually gone a little longer . I love this style it’s such a fun and easy summer hairstyle. When traveling omg super easy. Love your color mine is actually naturally gray lol. But I may have dark added. Thx for the tips

Janice Nolfi: Hi. I just have to let you know I love your hair style. The spiky version, though I like them all. I have a salt and pepper style and since I have had it styled your way, I have gotten more compliments. My husband is amazed when I get complimented. Thank you so much. Janice

Dario Witer: YAY!!!!! Another great "silent movie" hair tutorial! Of course, it would be great, Sharalee, if you use hair gels for guys, just to see if works on women as well!

Bruce Franklin: I'm a few days late, but so glad I watched this.I either tuned out or didn't pay enough attention about the dry wax before. I think that now I have learned how to use it to give my top and crown areas more texturized volume. Especially since I went quite a bit shorter a couple months ago, I have been trying to get lift on the top.Root boost helps, but the dry wax will probably help more. Getting my hair cut Tuesday and can't wait to try the dry wax. Your color and cut looks so great! Wish I was as good at styling as you are,but I'm getting better. (When my hair was long,I used to usually just let it air dry with no products, except leave in conditioner and a little oil)

Mxtraveler: My hair is cut about the same and maybe a little shorter. I have worn it that way and at various lengths of the same style for years. Highlights help with the texture for me. I have used several styling products but recently tried Harry’s Texturizing cream that I got at Wal Mart and I really think it compares to the Enjoy Dry Wax and may be easier for everyone to find. It feels more like a dry wax. It is a mens product but doesn’t have a manly scent. Just thought I’d mention it. Love the video!

Gina Reynolds: Freaking gorgeous color and cut!! ❤ I can't do short but if I did, this would definitely be the cut/color

GracieC312: Great idea for the cowlick. I have one there too, so I am going to try it a little longer there too to see if it is better. Just love all your videos

marilyn fernandez: I love your tutorials, thanks for the inspiration! I went to my stylist with your pictures and she did a very good job not as great as yours but it's nice. I hope that with your tutorial I will be able to achieve the look but I will settle for a close approximation. I love your make up and how lovely you always look. What shade of lipstick do you use, love the color. Thanks and God bless!

Amy Gilbert: You are so stinkin cute!! You are so put together. Your hair styles are always beautiful. You've given me the confidence to go short. Most days I like it, I'm hoping to style as well as you one day. TFS!!

E Clark: Your hair is just beautiful! Love it! Can’t wait to see what’s to come!

Rhonda Martinez: Looks beautiful! Can you still style it with the back spiked or is it cut to just lay down? If it can be done the other way, perhaps you’ll add a video of styling it that way while it is still newly cut?

Gloria Thompson: Love your tutorials! Your hair and makeup are always beautiful!

Terri Groves: I just love all the tutorials and it's always looking good

Lisa Gaines: I love your hair and your hair videos. Always perfect!!!

Audj943: I have that same stubborn cowlick too!!! Same spot! It splits!! I leave it longer there as well. Since I retired from hairdressing; (I’m 49) I feel like now my own hair likes to misbehave lol! Love your hair videos the most!! Keep them coming!! Hair and outfits....I’d LOVE to see a shop with me and haul...maybe a try on “put together outfits” video? How fun!! I wish we lived closer.....we’d be pals for sure! ❤️

Megan Murtagh: Love your hair videos cannot get enough I always learn something new!!! Thank you! How often do you go for haircuts alone and then also haircuts and color/highlights

Tammy Ritter: Beautiful hair tutorial as always! I absolutely love your hair!

shellie petty: Love it! Really need help with us who have much thinner hair though!

Cynthia Basso: Looks great, thanks for showing how you dry it, I know I need some argon oils for moisture. We have the same cut, basically.

Kathy Phifer: Oh that cowlick! Cows love me, too, especially that flat same spot. Grrr. Thank you for the tutorial. You’re stunning as usual!

Maureen Howard: Loving the shorter look you have. the colour is great. Thank you for your informative videos. Love you girlxx❤️

juanita wade: I love your hair videos....What does your stylist charge you for the foils and a cut if you don't mind me asking? I live NOW in New England and originally from Florida they are so different I was just wondering. it cost me here about 75.00 to 125.00!

Elizabeth Harrell: What shampoo/conditioner do you use? Does the argon oil make your hair greasy? I have fine hair, could I use that? Is it a heat protectant? New to flat iron and a shorter cut from having very long hair... not as short as yours (working my way to that, I love your hair style). Thanks for a great tutorial!

Sally Piercy: Yes this is very helpful! I have the flat problem and the cowlick. Is your hair fine or coarse? It looks similar to my texture. I have trouble finding a shampoo that doesn’t make my hair go limp. What product do you use?

Lisa Marie: Hi Sharalee! I had to screenshot your hair from each side because I just love your hairstyle. So so cute & so becoming on you!

Jane Fleet: I love this. I have 2 crowns at the back and struggle with flatness in that area. I'll try your tips. Thanks for being so inspiring.

Kim B: Loved the tutorial and I thank you for the tip on the back. I have the same issue.

Diana McCullough: I love your new look. Your hair looks awesome. Thanks for sharing ♡♡

Jackie Sanders: Love this video and thank you for the links! You are gorgeous!!

Karens Kreative Korner: Hi! I just discovered your channel and love it! I think in this video you said something about taking care of your hair so it looks healthy and shiny after coloring/bleaching it. I couldn't see a video title about this but really would like to know what you do and what products you use.

Gail Firegirl: Love the cut and style... it’s a winner!! Blessings my California friend ❤️

Katrina P: So cute, makes me want to cut mine short again !!

Sandy J: Loved this tutorial and will look forward to your hair care for after color. I got my hair cut tonight and was going to show my stylist and the other stylists in the salon your Viewer Requested Dupes for Enjoy Dry Wax but the only Viewer Requested video we could find from the week prior is the #1 where you did the makeup storage. Are the others down for some reason? Please let me know when you have a chance. Thank you, Sharalee!

Martha Marshall: Love it! Thanks for sharing! Be Blessed! ❤️

Marianne Petralia: Great cut and color. I know your stylist colors you every 3 months but how often do you get cut? I go every 4/5 weeks but I have roots which need color. Trying though to get my stylist to put more foils in to get more chunky look.

Debbie Sanders: I love your hair video's, your hair is always beautiful.

Robin Bourgault: Hi Sharalee, I was wondering about cost too......I know it varies in different parts of the country, but just curious if you could share an average cost for your style and upkeep. (from the salon)

Josh Oman: Love your haircut and color absolutely always looks awesome

rablount: So cute....I too learned to leave longer, not because of cowlick but because of a ‘sleep hole’...great video

CreateWithConfidence: I appreciate the new video. I am getting another cut, twice in five weeks. My crown and top hair is very long and I cannot spike it. I also have a cowlick and my stylist leaves it longer. I am showing her your video ad an example if what I want to tweak on my hair. Oh, and I am going dye free, 13 weeks in and I hope the tweaks will reveal more non dyed hair. I may want my stylist to bleach out some highlights to pull red tones from my longer bangs area. I would welcome any suggestions.

Tania Eitel: Your hair is adorable. I'm tempted to give up the growing out notion

sara lópez: casi no entiendo lo que dices, pues no hablo ingles, pero explicas tan bien y como muestras los productos se cuales son tengo el mismo corte de pelo y tu me has ayudado a peirnarme y a cuidarlo. gracias saludos desde México

Elizabeth Sprinz: What brand and color is your brow pencil? My brows need help!

Tamar Murphy: I am not an older woman and nor is my haircut like this but I just have to say, this is such a Karen hairstyle

Jane Bentrott: Love your hair! What type of lipstick are you wearing? It is beautiful!

V Rdsnper: You take thirty mins to do a 10 minute job. but that is the best hair spray, we call it the good stuff. But I could have blown you hair out and spiced it up with hair spray only.
