Welcome to life of hair, my name's James Atkinson, and in this week's episode we're going to do an adaptation of the Greek goddess, a classic Sassoon technique. Now I'm gon na cut it slightly longer than the Greek goddess was originally because I think it's one very difficult to find the exact right, hair texture for the Greek goddess, but to this girls hair has got amazing texture when it's slightly longer. So the principle is the same: it's just gon na be a slightly longer version. Someone requested this on the channel very recently. So thank you for the request and I hope this fulfills the desire and need for me to do this for you on the channel and if you really enjoy it, then share it with your friends. Subscribe to the channel. Leave me a comment because I love hearing from you and any other requests that you want to make and please leave it down below and I'll, be sure to try and do it in the subsequent weeks there. For those of you that have made requests over the last few weeks, I am working on those videos and they will definitely be up. In the coming weeks. We are going to take a center profile section straight down the middle of her head. This is going to be used to create a guide for virtually all of this haircut, with exception to a couple of guides that we'll put in in just a moment yet elevate, the hair straight up from the head 90 degrees and in this instance, and choosing an Appropriate length to leave behind the beautiful natural texture of Elsa's hair straight out from the crown. This is a classic uniform wear with a slight twist. We will not be following the head shape around around the perimeter underneath the occipital bone and over the ears, so it will go from a curved shape into a square shape, use a bit of that first section as your guide and take another guide section through the Sides and down to the top of the ear doing exactly the same thing on the opposite side, so we've effectively made a cross on the top and the sides of the head. This will give us a perfect guide to work from, so we can clearly see where we're going to and from just split the top guide into two and we'll also split the sides into two. Also. This will give us an exact guide to work from as we go through this haircut. I think the more guides that we have, the less likely we are to lose our current guide and create a beautiful shape. That is easy to follow. Remember with this technique. We are simply following the head shape around and on the perimeters or the sides of the head and the back we're just going to cut a square line in this photo you'll note that the hairline is quite soft, so, instead of following the head around I've, simply Elevated the hair straight up from the head, we're going to cut a square line 90 degrees from the head shape that follows the head shape around. But as soon as I come to these side, sections I'll be cutting a square line that will leave the perimeter length. Very soft and loose, and I'm going to do exactly the same thing with the front hairline and live a tit straight up from the head and cut it square to protect the strength around the perimeter in that front. Hairline on to the back sections, now nice and simple: we're just simply splitting those two side guides that I created, and we also have that Center profile guide that we I created in the very very beginning so easy easy to follow. Two guidelines and the principles are exactly the same elevate: the head 90 degrees from the head, cutting around the head shape and allowing the outlines to be cut square, leaving all the weight and length that we had in the beginning of this haircut attached. If you had longer hair to deal with, you would simply continue to cut a square line all the way to the perimeter. At this point, I know exactly whether I have gone off track or not, because I will meet my centre back guide and if I'm not cutting off too much or too little hair, I've absolutely nailed. It take the haircut for balance, texture and in this instance, I'm going to make the front a little bit shorter and a little bit softer. So I'm going to comb the hair into natural fall and I'm going to take a census profile section that runs through to the front hairline, I'm going to elevate it straight out from the head shape and I'm going to cut a line that follows her forehead. Putting the hair straight out from the head exactly where it falls naturally and cutting off that little bit of extra weight from the fringe area. This is to give Elsa a bit more texture throughout her fringe, as simply sprayed in some sea salt spray. That is my wire spark diffuser bag, which I'll link in the description below. It is an absolute genius booster kit when it comes to drying hair with its natural texture. Enhanced and here we have the finished - look Elsa's beautiful, icy, clean blonde hair with her very, very beautiful natural texture enhanced by this super soft vidal sassoon, esque Greek, goddess, hair cut with a bit of a modern twist, I'm sure for the purists out there you'll be Glad that I called it a modern twist and there we have it a longer version. I appreciate what that beautiful, soft lent through the back the soft length through the sides creating that beautiful texture. So I hope that was helpful to you and if it was like, I said, leave me a comment. Let me know if you've enjoyed this or you didn't, enjoy it and there's something. You'D have liked me to have done differently, I'm always up for your feedback. I'Ll see you again for another episode of the life of hair. Very soon you you

Josee Gendron: Love learning those Vidal methods. Wish all schools were teaching them but alas. You are so down to earth and real. Thank You for sharing your knowledge with us as it helps greatly to make us better hairstylists.

Shaun C: Liking the classic Sassoon techniques with your own modern twists. His legacy will never leave us. I love the YS Park diffuser too, I like the way it throws out heat without blowing the air out too much disturbing the hair whilst drying. Great work as usual thanks for sharing and keeping us in touch with education. Shaun, Nottingham

Health and gardening: Yes I enjoyed this James I enjoy all your videos, you are an amazing hair dresser and teacher. I especially love it when you do Vidal cuts

SRC: Very very nice I did something similar to this on one of my heads Previously permed, I kept that loose texture on front, top and back and skin tapered from the ears up and back in a C shape (I hate to call it a Mohawk shape lol) I was thinking of someof the characters on Aeon Flux, I don’t know if you’ve seen the mtv cartoon and movie, it’s super futuristic. That was my inspiration True story... the head was a level 5 highlighted heavy and my instructor said the color should be more futuristic as well, so I bleached it icy white and did a super violet purple ombré on the curls, I got a lol

Princess Pamela's World: I'd love to see a head sheet on your haircuts just to make sure I have the right idea. Thanks! Love the vids
