It has been so fun to play with straightening my new pixie but I do think that once you've embraced your waves you'll always go back.

Hello, pixie friends, wavy, babes and silver sisters. If you are new to my channel, welcome, my name is carrie jessica. I talk a lot about hair care, so gray, hair, wavy, hair, the curly girl method. Now i'm styling a pixie, and sometimes i open things that i've spent too much money on and if those things sound like they're interesting to you hit that subscribe button and hang out with me more often, so i am finally going to style. My pixie working with my natural wave and not straightening it all of the products that i use in this video are curly girl method approved. So if you are a curly girl rocking a pixie, i got you. This is my absolute favorite hair towel. It is from original moxie. The link is down below with a discount if you would like it, so i am going to go ahead and get it wet again, since it is pretty darn dry. So now my hair is soaking wet. This is the second time i have done my hair in its natural wavy state since getting this pixie. So i am so so excited to do this with you guys, because, honestly, i don't know how it's going to come out, i'm going to be using innersense products. I'M not affiliated with the company in any way shape or form, but i absolutely love them. Their products have protein, which is really great for most people, i'm using a very small amount, because i'm very heavy-handed with product, but i have like no hair left, so their products have protein in them, which is great, especially if you do color your hair have any Kind of damage protein helps really support that wave or curl. So now that i have this in my hair, it is squished in and i'm moving my head side to side part partly out of habit, but also because i am looking to create volume. So i'm not necessarily looking forward to get stuck in any one direction. Next, i'm going to go in with i create lift. This is a foam which a foam you could think of like a mousse but much more water based. So it's much more runny than a traditional aerosol. Mousse is foams like this are great if you want some hold, but your hair is very fine and gets weighed down super easily. My hair is fine, but i have enough hair to where i don't really deal with it falling too flat these days, because i have no hair and i'm just really squishing that in because this product is so light, i do not mind getting it near my roots. The last styler that i'm going to go in with is i create hold. This is a gel that i absolutely love, and this gel is very, very concentrated, so i'm actually going to add some water to my hand, when i put this on just to make sure that it's emulsifies well, this is a very concentrated gel and i'm just moving. My head around in all different directions. Again, i will use root clips to clip it in the direction that i want it to go in. But while i'm adding my stylers, i just really want to make sure that we've got everything creating volume and that squish sound. That'S how wet i like my hair when i am styling it wavy or curly, believe it or not, that water is almost like an additional styler, so any excess that i have in my hands. I am just running it down the shorter shaved undercut section of my hair and now i'm going to wash my hands so now that i have all of those products in my hair. I am going to use my hair towel and i'm going to do is called micro plopping. I am not going to wrap my hair up in it. I'M just going to take my hair and gather it and kind of um squeeze out any excess water or product that my hair is not absorbing and that will help create and enhance that wave or curl. It also removes some water, so it takes you less time to dry. Now that i have that done, i am going to root clip my hair. I do prefer my hair going all in one direction, which is not where my natural part lies. That is one thing with this pixie is you do kind of work against a lot of things that naturally happen in your hair? So i am just going to root clip on this exaggerated, deep part to get things going in the right direction, and now that i have that part situated i'm going to go in just in different sections here and kind of lift root. Clipping is great because it makes your hair up off of your scalp so that when you are diffusing or air drying, it already starts creating the lift for volume and because i do like a lot of volume i'm going in in rows. So some people can just root clip at their part and that's fine. That'S all they need. I'M gon na go ahead and root clip all the way around. So i am diffusing with my dyson. I haven't touched the diffuser head of this in quite some time. I'Ve been straightening it with the compressor um, so yeah super excited to diffuse, i'm going to start off hover diffusing where i hold the dryer away from my hair. It'S going to be on high speed with a low to medium heat, but i'm not going to be touching my hair. My hair is getting dry, it's definitely not dry yet, but we're going to go ahead and remove the root clips and now the root clips are out. I am going to turn the diffuser on to low speed and low to no heat, and i will diffuse some more so i just realized that i'm running late, so i'm going to go in with a little bit of the eye, create finish. This is a hairspray. It doesn't be drying alcohol in it. I am using it so that it helps to dry my hair, faster um, but if you're, strict, curly girl method, you won't want to use this again drying alcohol. So my hair is dry. I'M a little concerned about what is happening here yeah. I don't know about that one. Actually, it's not quite dry. Oh my god. It has taken longer for me to dry my hair than it took for me to fumble around with the round brush for the very first time that i ever used it and in that video. Not only did i use a round brush, but i also use a straightener that was actually faster than this okay, guys dry or not. This has to be it so we're gon na pray that it doesn't so we're gon na pray that this isn't super frizzy. All right so now, after you have gel in your hair and you've dried your hair, you might look at it and go like what in the heck it looks like. I have ramen noodle on my head, then we're going to scrunch out this crunch. If your hair is really dry, you can use a hair oil in your hands or you can use a silk scarf or a satin pillow case things like that. I tend to just go in with my hands because i'm a rebel like that - and i am changing directions again, just to make sure that i can really scrunch out this side as well. If i try really carefully to only have it this way, there's going to be a big section that is not going to be scrunched as well. In my opinion, these back little pieces are so tiny and now because i do like a little functional frizz and a little bit of mess, i'm taking my fingers and just going in towards my roots and just kind of fluffing that around all i'm doing is this Here let me give you a 360 of it all the way done all right. You guys! Thank you so much for hanging out with me this afternoon. While i did my hair super fast and i'm running late, if you have not already hit that subscribe button, so you can hang out with me more often hit the bell for notifications, so that you know when i create new content, i try to upload on tuesdays And thursdays, when life allows also, if you haven't yet give this video a like and leave a comment, let me know: if you have a pixie, have you styled it wavy or curly? I will see you in a couple of days, but if you would like to hang out with me in other places before then i'm on instagram i'm on tiktok, i'm on facebook, i'm on pinterest. Gill Donne-Davis: Yay! Love this I’m in the process of growing out my grey and I’m seriously tempted to try this cut, looks so cute on you. Thank you for showing us this way of styling your pixie

Eileen McCartney Cirelli: Soul sister! This video had everything I needed! Gray hair - pixie from long red curls - and love innersense. Just couldn’t figure out how to diffuse. Your method worked perfectly.

Msbondu ToYou: Hands down, my favorite hair style and color (at the moment!). Beautiful girl!

Maritza Ortiz: love it curly or blow dried, both look great. The root and clip worked great never seen that technique before, I'm definitely gonna try it . I always feel like the top of my hair is way flatter than the rest of my curly/wavy hair.

Tina LeCour: Oh it looks amazing curly, sometimes my bangs do the same thing and will curl in but I find if I wet them and just finger coil the bangs they seem to come out better. Either way your hair looks so pretty!!

Wearmath: Love how the grey looks! I'm not brave enough (yet) to go the pixie route and am 6 months into the grey / silver/ white grow-out so I'm dealing with some pretty serious demarcation. Thanks for your inspiration as always. I have the exact same curl pattern as yours and have picked up many tips about styling it by watching you and others. Enjoy the day!

Jamie Rossi: Hiya Carrie. I really admire the pixie on you. I'm new & really dig you. I'm a silver grower outer here. Thinking of going shorter myself. I am really digging the curls Carrie.

ShirleyAnna: I love love your hair. I love pixie cuts on me but the top of my hair has no curl. I actually like it so much better than before you cut it. It’s looks awesome on you.

thesunflowerwarrior1: I would pay to have your hair color, it is SO PRETTY!!!! This is a great tutorial and I want to follow it but I’m so lazy and impatient

MsSam66ok: Love it! We’re you able to get a good second or third day refresh look with it styled curly? I’ve never tried innersense but I may in the future.

D G: This is my favorite style/version of your pixie.

MarleyThePuggle: So love the colour of your hair now wish mine would go that dark. Your Pixie is so pretty

Robin L: Ok so another winner! Ditched the curly girl pixie for 1 yr but trying it now. I think I’m so use to ease that I may not be able to stick with it.Pixies are so much fun! Your color is GORGEOUS!

Carol Fudali: I’ve been waiting for this!

Hastiii: Really helpful

Tracey Chiang: If you could do an in depth video on root clipping and cowlick hiding that would be great

niccola bardi: Absolutely gorgeous as are you ♡☆♡

Beauty of the butterfly: Beautiful hair

D Lovely: I love your hair. But I have one question...did the Dyson dryer make your ear that red?

Cassie Rapson: I’m about to get this same pixie!

jessica Adams: How long does this method take? Have you ever just washed add products and go?

Annabellished Art: My hair has been heavliy bleeach and colord before dying it black. Through out the dyeing and bleaching almost every other week i had this cut due to the job i was doing * im never gonna change it*. Anywaysy hair is super damged and i want it to be able to be natrual

Melissa De Soto: Nice!

Gunnar Berli: How long was your hair before the pixie cut? Did you shed tears during the pixie cut?

Anna Burns: Looks like it is much easier to apply products to so much less hair.

Susie T: What beautiful curls?
