Will A Blow Dry Brush Work On A Pixie Hair Cut?

Today's video is trying out the Blow Dry brush on short hair! I absolutely suuuuck at styling my hair outside of a quick flat iron job or curly girl, and I've been so curious about trying a Blow Dry Brush. I have never conquered the blowout and being about to blow dry AND use a round brush at the same time, so when I saw this tiny blow dry brush that wasn't as big as the traditional brushes, I haaaaad to try! I'm excited with how easy this was, and how it made my pixie cut look!

Here we go: there's full there's full 90s heartthrob boy, devin sawwa, right here, hello friends. Today, i'm going to do sort of a part two to my video um, where i showed how i styled my hair when it's curly. So, as a lot of you may know, i have really in the last year and a half probably more than that, been really into the curly girl method. At least i used to be into the curly girl, i feel like now i've sort of wandered onto my own path, but in the last two-ish years i've really learned about my hair texture and learned how to style it for the most benefit. I guess for its natural texture, since i cut my hair off cut it really short back in. When did i do this november? I believe, for the most part, i've styled it curly and it's been really cool to see how it looks curly to not have to worry about like parting it to not worry about, like it kind of falling to the sides, and i felt like i've had a Lot more freedom with it and it's been really fun. However, this video is not about curly hair, so we need to stop talking about that right now. This video is about styling, it straight mainly it's about trying out a hair, styling tool that i've seen a lot, but i've never tried myself and that tool is the blob blah blah and that tool is the blow-dry brush. So i have seen these a lot of the top-selling beauty tools or beauty. Items on amazon is a revlon version of this, and i've just been really curious about it. Little backstory on me. I don't ever have known how to really do my hair. This has always been a huge struggle for me, especially before i was doing curly girl. I really struggled with trying to figure out how to style my hair. I knew how to flat iron it, but even when i was flat ironing it, it was huge chunks. There would still be like messy uh frizzy parts not done very well, and it kind of would just make it everything flat. I never learned how to blow dry my hair correctly anytime. I would blow dry my hair. It was just kind of holding the blow dryer with one hand and then just finger like messing it up so that air could get through and that left my hair super frizzy super not cute, so i never really learned how to do a blowout. What'S really cool about these blow-dry brushes? Is it's like a two-in-one, so you don't have to worry about holding a round brush and also holding a blow dryer and having to do that cool thing that hairstylists can do where they like can go around it, and it looks like really neat because i never Was able to figure out how to do that, and apparently i'm like weak, because anytime, i would try. My arm would start hurting so badly after, like a fraction of my hair. So when i saw this, i got really excited this. One in particular, is the infinity pro by conair. I believe it was like 30 this one i was excited to get, because the one that i had mentioned earlier, that's from revlon is a much wider brush barrel, which is not really what i want, because my hair is so short. I wanted to get something that was smaller, so this one is only an inch wide. It'S the smallest one that i could find it's super super super lightweight like a quarter of the weight of any blow dryer i've ever used and it wasn't expensive. So i thought you know what let's try it, let's see how it goes and we can see if it's going to give me some more options to kind of mess around with my hair. Also, oh, that was the other thing i meant to say. We have a new addition to the funko family, i'm so excited about this. One tasty peach studios has pop funkos and this baby is the nom wall. It'S perfect because i have the nom wall plushie back there, and so now i have the counterpart as the adorable. Little funko pop um - i love me some good funko pops and when i saw tashc peach was doing some. I had to get it. I had to get it so cute, so cute all right. Well, let's get on with the video freshly washed hair same routine as i've described um in my curly girl, video, which basically is olaplex shampoo, olaplex conditioner and that's pretty much it for today, and so what i'm planning to do today is basically the opposite of the Curly girl, routine, you know because we're gon na be doing sprays and or sprays. What am i talking about? We'Re gon na be straightening my hair, and i'm really excited to try this. So i'm gon na use my leave-in conditioner this one is the curl talk one. It'S just just something: i'm gon na be using the um bumble and bumble grooming cream, not using very much of it. At least it's not very much for me, i'm sure, there's other people that are looking at this being, like that's a ton for the amount of hair you have, but my hair is really thick, so it just kind of absorbs product really well. So i don't really worry too much. I'M gon na use my denman brush, because it's just what i have and i kind of am going to brush my hair. Well, i guess for this one i'll brush it to this side. When i do my hair curly, i tend to brush it forward because that's i want everything like up, but for this one i kind of like it to the side, but really the only reason i'm brushing. It is just to make sure that the product is distributed. Evenly because that's really the most important part, i can find that. I'M sorry there's like so much stuff right here right now. Here'S my brushes container. Do you like it. I did it myself. It took like 10 hours, it says brushes. What i'm going to do here is since everything's going this way. I'M kind of coined up i'm kind of gon na pull this hair off to the side, take a clip and then we'll just start brushing stuff down we're gon na turn it on this has low high and a cool setting. I'M probably gon na go up to high. This is not plugged in so maybe that should be step one there we go okay, so i'm going to pull this in just like a normal brush and then kind of pull and keep twisting. The nice thing here is that this does rotate on its own. So you don't have to worry about the cord getting like clumped up and messed up in there, so i'm just gon na pull and then, as it gets to the bottom, i go back hold twist up. It'S especially easy. I found when it's these shorter hairs back here, because i can just kind of keep twisting it and it keeps my hair taut, which is going to make sure that it's more on the straight side yay. So that's quick and honestly, like i mean i'm sure i mentioned in the beginning, i'm not somebody who ever really learned how to blow dry my hair. So this is sort of like the coolest thing ever for me, because any time that i've blow-dried my hair to make it straight - it's just going like this with my fingertips until it's dry and then relying on my flat iron to actually make it straight. So this is making it. So if i do have to flat iron it it's going to be a lot less heat, so it's actually in the long run, gon na be a lot healthier for my hair than if i was doing you know a shitty job at blow, drying it and then Going in and flattering it because i'm gon na have to do a lot less with flat ironing another section so weird when it's like it's. This is like the um, the 90s cute boy, hair. I'Ve got going on right now. This is like the sean hunter bowl cut side middle part thingy with bob. We don't want that, i'm not about that life. I always have to do this section right here at my widow's peak a little bit like more because i noticed that this just like this section of hair, is this different texture than the rest of my hair. So it always needs a little bit more tlc because it definitely is its own. It'S very it's very different from the rest of my hair. It'S so i always go by over that part, or i feel the need to go that part. Okay, now we're fully dry. So you can see, i mean what's really cool about it. Is that you're getting a lot more body than traditional, at least for me for me doing my own hair. This is giving me a lot more body than i would normally get doing my own hair, however, because my hair is quite curly, it's not as straight as i personally would like, but it's a huge improvement from what it would be if it wasn't a brush blow. Dryer combo craziness, so what i think i'm going to do now is i'm going to get my bloat in my blow dryer i'm going to get my flat iron, the flat iron that i'm using is the nero. I believe this is t3 john mitchell, john mitchell, john mitchell. This is a one inch flat iron. I used a one-inch flat iron as long as i can remember. It'S really good for my hair, but this is just gon na fix the ends a little bit and make it a little bit more tank team going in with my flat iron it's at 360.. We don't know what we're doing i'm just gon na go in, and it's just quick when i would flat iron my hair before when. If i was to blow dry - and it was big and and super frizzy and uh super messy, i would have to go over each section quite a few times. I don't have to do it when it's already straight from the blow dry brush. I find that it's a lot easier to straighten and i can just kind of pull pieces from my clip so that they're not huge chunks, maybe except this back part, which is just kind of doing its own thing. The other thing that kind of is funny is that after i've had my hair straight for like a little while like a day or two, the back starts kind of doing its own thing, and it starts to like stick up straight and there will be sections that Just like the anarchy sections are what i call them. It'S usually like right over here, where it's just these pieces that want to fall the opposite way of what i'm telling them to do, and so they'll start like literally because of the way that my hair is. I can make my hair stick up, not when it's freshly washed, but when it's a couple of days post wash, i can make it basically stand up on end without adding, i mean i'll, add a little bit of a volumizing powder and a little bit of pomade. But for the most part, it'll do this without me: adding a lot of product just to just show you how how it works. So it's kind of funny when it starts to get these pieces, these little back ones that even when there's no product in it they're just still sticking up okay, so super easy and then um. Okay. So before before volumizing powder, i'm gon na go in with my oil plex number seven bonding oil. Just like one. Two two drops two two drops this. I will just work in everywhere and i'll kind of do a little bit around my buzzed areas too, but i just like you know i love olaplex, so i'm always wanting to use everything olaplex, but i really like using it on those front pieces that are a Little bit damaged, but also have like a different texture than the rest of my hair. Oh gosh, oh my gosh paul just went and got me an energy drink. It'S currently 10 at night, hello, um, and it's literally right where my elbow is. If you guys know me at all, you know that i am the queen of dropping things. So, let's, let's not spill an entire giant energy drink right now. That would not be fun okay. So what i'm gon na do is i'm gon na put a little bit of this on this side, shake it in then we'll. Do it like right in the middle here we go, there's full there's full 90s heartthrob boy, devin sawwa right here - oh my god! Okay! Do a couple shake it in pull the rest. Do like one more right here and then one more on the edges a little bit more and then i'll just kind of go in it in and you can see it just starts giving like mondo volume with like no effort at all, which is kind of neat. So the last thing that i'm going to do is use a little bit of a pomade which i do not have in here, so i have to go grab it okay, so the pomade that i'm using is from r co and it's called sand castle. I have this weird thing with this particular pomade: it's a dry texture pomade, so it's kind of gritty it actually kind of feels like it has sand in it, but the way that it smells is wild to me if you've ever if you've ever been in, like A new build home where, like it's nobody lives there, there's no scent in it. That'S what this smells like. It smells like drywall, which i don't hate, but it's like. I can see it being kind of one of those scents that people are like whoa. That'S really not great, but for me, oh, my god, i like, i kind of love it for some reason. It'S just really. It smells like a new house. It'S wild okay. So with this i'm just kind of putting it on to the ends. The way that this um pomade is, i don't want to like, throw it because there's different pomades like um bed head manipulator, is one that i think of where i'll put it all throughout. It'S really gooey and it really separates with this one. I find that it's gon na give my hair a lot of texture really easily, but if i put it too much at the roots, it's gon na make it not great quick if that makes sense, it's gon na kind of start to feel gross after a short Period of time where, when i do my hair, i want it to stay okay, for at least like i don't know, four or five days, i don't like to wash my hair, that's cool, so i'm really enjoying this. I think i'm gon na add a little bit more. I want a little bit more lift at the front, so we're gon na add a little bit more of the volume powder right there. There we go awesome moral of the story. I really do like this um blow dry brush. I think that, especially with my hair shorter, it is the best way possible that i'm going to be able to get my hair straight. If i want to wear it straight, that was kind of the thing with cutting my hair off really short was that i wanted to be able to have options that weren't going to overwhelm me when my hair was longer. I really loved that i was able to learn how to style it curly because it made me feel like i was in control of my hair, which i've never really felt like. I was every time i would straighten it. I felt like my only option, was just have it straight so when it's short like this, i, like the i um, that i have the ability basically to be able to do it. Curly, have it look one way and then, if i want to have it styled straight, i also have that option and i can do different stuff now. The next thing that i'm gon na have to learn how to do is you know, adding different elements like maybe adding like braids on the side or you know styling it the other way or styling, like pompadour style, going back. Those are all the types of things that i'm still, i'm really not sure how to do so. If you guys would like, i would love to take you on the road with me as far as that goes. Maybe if any of you guys are hair stylist and want to do a zoom call, we could do something like that. That could be cool. You guys can teach me how to do my hair, so i don't know how to do it myself. I don't know we'll see anyways. Thank you guys so much for watching make sure you subscribe. If you haven't. I probably should start saying this in the beginning of the videos. Thank you so much for subscribing. Thank you to all my patrons on uh alicia land love. You guys and i'll see you soon bye,

Andrea: I've been using a blow dry brush since I got a pixie cut back in October 2019 and then transitioned into an under cut like yours (but I don't have curly hair). You can get less curl on the ends by just pulling the blow dry brush straight out through the ends a few times after you've gotten it smooth and dry. Don't rotate it, especially on the ends. Also, you can run the blow dry brush on the outside of the section to counteract the direction of the curl. I could probably show you through zoom if you want.

Coral: You seem like you’re always happier with a pixie than anything else

Ella Claire: This hairstyle looks really great on you! It fits your personality and frames your face perfectly. I love it

Toni Whitt: I had the same haircut three years ago and I absolutely loved it! Pixie cuts are so much fun. I went from a pixie to a buzz cut. Short hair is amazing And you look so good with short hair I love this cut on you.

April Dawn: I remember when you had the short hot pink hair like swept up and like a fauxhawk and you were a judge on that one makeup show haha. I remember LOVING your style so much back then and your big earrings you had. haha

jennp: I felt like the Revlon one damaged by hair. May have been user error, but my hair smelled burnt and looked frizzy every time I used! Glad this one worked for you

Ashlee Farmer: If you lift your hair at the root when you are using the blowdryer, you will get more volume. Lift it almost in the opposite direction that you want it to lay down, then smooth it down in the direction you want it to go (almost like a C shape).

Abigail Marie: You should try IGK good behavior spray when you do a blow out it’s 100% the best product for smoothing curly hair and is so shiny. It also has protein in it for strength and protects from heat!

Madelyn Rose: I also have a pixie cut and I've been thinking of buying one of these, but I was unsure it would work on such short hair. You've made me a believer though!

It’s Jess: This is the one I got my mom and I kinda wish I got it for myself as well,bc my hair is short like chin length and the bigger one of this is nice but I think I could’ve went with the smaller barrel. Love how your hair turned out & girl I’m like you I have the hardest time styling my hair , so loving the new hair tools that basically do your hair for ya lol like I have straight hair with short Bob style & I so badly want those cute beachy waves but I can’t seem to be able to do them with a flat iron & I burn myself with my wand curling iron..just ugh why can’t I just do my damn hair , they make it look so easy!?

Maggie's Makeup Medley: So question on the Conair tool... is it too intense for the average outlet? The Revlon one took up so much electricity it would blow a fuse whenever I tried to use it. I’m hoping the one you’re using is much less intense but still effective

jenschannel: I love your hair short! It always looks so good on you

kittyjade25: I love your short hair!!! You're the reason I started the curly girl method so thank you

VirginiaStarlite: I have the Revlon one. It's nice, but I feel like the bristles got all bent out of shape and wonky, maybe I'm too intense with my drying, and I don't think it is fixable.

GillianCrafts: So helpful! I’ve got the same hair cut except only shaved on one side... except mine is thin, fine, and dead straight! so when you say it’s straight, my brain says, Ooh, cute curl!

Jessie Borrell: LOL the 90s boyband hair. Totally got Nick Carter vibes. We need a choreographed dance routine. Your short hair is so cute. I have an appointment to get mine cut next week and I'm so tempted to go shorter but it's finally getting LONG lol

Lisa Bevis: I'm late to watching this, but I'll totally do a video hair session with you!!

SoleschidaVlogs: What heat protectant did u use??

screamingmimi90: Are you sure you’re not Lesha’s daughter? Because you look about ten years younger with your hair that short!

amber: Devon Sawa and Shawn Hunter in one video? amazing.

missamend5: we have the same hair cut. the back is its own beast! lol

themathtuber: What is the name of the product you used at 12:34? I need this stuff!!! Thanks

enj0ythesiIence: Please tell us what the spray in the black bottle is that gave you the Devon vibes volume!! Thank you!!

Liz Nicole: Been here since Leesha in London. Love you!

Willow Moon Wolf: I so wish I could pull off that haircut !!!!

Ashley Dizzy: Ooooohhhhhh snao this could change the game once I cut my haaaaiiirrrr
