Pt 1: How To Mold Your Short Hair For Betty Boops Curls

What'S up guys, it's your girl, Lakeisha Michelle, and I am about to just do my hair on camera. As you can see, I have shampooed my hair and I'm about to get started. So I'm gon na take my favorite setting lotion from influence. It'S the royal silk. It literally makes your hair, so freakin shiny, and it makes the foam wrap like the shine. Is my favorite thing and it makes the hair soft and shiny, but also with the foam wrap? I don't know it just feels like magic once you mix it in with the foam wrap. So I love this stuff and I'm now using the firm whole bye influence. It doesn't make your hair crunchy or you know, flaky so mixing this with a setting. Lotion is like I'm in love like I'm, so in love with this combination, you can just do so much and the softness is better than Nairobi to me. It'S a genuine Sheen and softness, so I'm gon na take the wet comb and just comb my hair out of the big bald of thing that I just did, which I don't recommend, but I'm gon na call my hair basically notice. I'M coming it down coming it down, just getting it in place, I kind of start. I don't like to put a direct part at the middle of the top of my head, but I definitely start at the top of my head and just kind of think of an umbrella. You know an umbrella just goes around, I'm just going to do that, and now I was a little different mold. I wanted more volume at the top of my hair, so what I did was I'm coming this forward on both sides and notice. I took that little section in the middle top of my head I'll, show you how I do a little do a little trick, especially when the hair is longer putting a little more setting lotion. Now, I'm going to begin to smooth the hair down notice, how I follow my hand with the comb and at the corner of my where my edges. Are you guys? You don't want your edges to look ball, so you want to go in and smooth that hair down smooth smooth smooth if you want to put some waves cool, if not no biggie, but I'm going to make a c-shape motion just around the frame of my face. Okay watch how I'm doing that, I'm literally having fun. I don't want it to I'm, not looking for perfection, old-school, organized thing, I'm just let's not miss a little school, but I just want a little bit of frame of the face. Cuz, it just makes it it makes your style fun. It gives that little Betty Boop feel it's flirty, it's fun, and so I'm gon na just make sure that hugs my neck notice, how I'm calming and literally pushing with my hand, pushing everything down. That'S gon na make your mold tight. Okay, moving that hair out the way, and you can literally this is what I always just get I'd be like. Oh, I want to play and I'm like a couple weeks into relaxer, so my hair, when you don't have a super fresh relaxer, I go natural really fast, so I get a little B B's and stuff like that. Yeah little babies are so I'm combing that c-shape don't be scared to comb and the setting lotion. If you put a lot of setting lotion, it makes the hair so fluid. So what I'm doing is like doing what shape I'm playing right now. Okay, I don't know what shape I want. I want it to be kind of, like just loosely weighed, all right notice, how I'm using the tip of my comb. It does a lot of people leave me comments about a relaxer. It'S important you're, not gon na get the same effect if you don't have a certain most textures without a relaxer, just gon na be a hard job like who wants to work that hard, and it doesn't last that long for the average person. There are cases where you are the exception. Now I'm gon na comb this little area into. I want it to blend into that section that I've just waved. So I'm just gon na comb this and you guys I'm having fun. I didn't have us. I'Ve turned the camera on okay, hmm, I'm feeling Betty Boop fish, so I'm going to now just make sure you combing out all the kinks, and it looks like I'm coming my hair harder than I am it's not pulling out for all these people that are so Pull out and heat obsessed, it's fine people right now, I'm just kind of placing the hair in place figuring out what I want to do, making sure you comb through this top section. You do not want to have pieces of hair, so I'm gon na just take this little section and I'm gon na just kind of pink curl, not really a pink curl, but just kind of push it up and out the way and I'm gon na. Let that dry like that, because I'm gon na have this section of the hair standing up, and I want the volume alright, so remember how you dry your hair, that's setting the hair, it's giving it! It'S literally training the hair, how to beat the whole time until you wet it again, so I'm just moving that hair out the way my hair's a little thick up in there. Okay, I don't like my hair to be bone straight to where it has no texture. Now I'm going to frame the face, putting a little more setting lotion don't be skirt. Now I can speak for influencer setting lotion in foam, wrap the more you use. It doesn't miss like make your hair all horrible you're, literally just waving you're going open seat and then you're gon na do another C shape pulling it forward, pulling it forward pulling it forward. The foam I mean the setting lotion really makes the hair move very fluid. Like water, which is what I love about it you're just going forwards and backwards, see shapes guys, and you got to practice this. So don't look at this and say I can't my dad always says that when you say that your hands begin to move according to your words. So if you say you can't, then that's what you're going to literally manifest and it does take some practice to do this kind of stuff on your own head. But you can get it. You got ta, be willing to mess it up and try in and try again like look at me, I'm like yeah. I want to do this. A little different got ta spray, a little more setting lotion because it makes the hair move boom, makes it fluid. I'M like yeah, I just want to make this bigger and I want to push that c-shape. I'M gon na push the back of that seat against. I don't want no gaps right there right! Oh it's! It'S tough doing your own hair, you guys, but you get better when you just keep practicing and you can't be scared to like mess it up. Quote-Unquote, there's no such thing, so it's kind of odd doing it in the camera. Trying to make sure you guys can see, I can't see it's like a lot going on, but I wanted to show you. This is really you know when you're doing waves. Now, if I was not doing wings up in domoto, my hair by now takes me five seconds to MoMA here, but I was in a wave mood and then I was like. Who cares it's just the frame of the face? That'S all I want it was the frame of the face because I'm gon na curl into the waves which I'll show you and then in the back. I'M just gon na make sure I wanted it to hug my neck and so you'll see in the back, where I'm literally gon na just kind of make some little parts towards the back make area. So now I'm going to get the mirror because I couldn't see, but this whole camera said it, but I'm just gon na just like make this. These little lines just make some little parts, I'm not trying to be perfect. I don't even care cuz. I can't see back there and I'm at home must be clear, but I just I knew that it would all naturally kind of be wavy. But I'm like, let me just control the wave just a little bit give it that wispy feel hugging the neck, and so you don't have to do this, but yeah that just it'll look cute once you throw the curls. On top of that, you got to be really smooth. You got to hold your neck tight, okay guys, but this is the mold. Now I'm gon na sit under the dryer and that's it so this mold is gon na go well to get that Betty, Boop look and you don't have to do the full head of waves to get it.
