How To Thin Out Short Hair At Home | Pixie Cut

It's difficult these days to get a haircut. I think it's the perfect time to get a little scissor happy with your hair. These are a few techniques I've learned during beauty school. Be cautious but have fun.. it's only hair. :)

All right before this video gets to the internet today - oh my god. Oh this is what my hair. It looks like like a portobello mushroom, and normally my hair does look like this, because I have like multi colors in it normally, but today is just regular old white. That'S as much energy as I am going to exude throughout this entire video, because quarantine has got me this way. I just wanted to update you guys a little bit on how I've been doing during quarantine. It'S been hard, it's been rough, I've had highs and I've had lows and I'm still experiencing them today, just like pretty much every single human being on this earth. Yeah anyways yeah. So if you haven't, got the gist of it, I am making my monthly hair video. It'S like the only consistent video you guys are going to get from me because I'm so the main objective of this video is just to get rid of some sickness. It'S just getting a little too round and the back it's just getting a bit too long. So we're just gon na tone it down a little bit. A frequently asked question from some of you guys has been: are you a cosmetologist and yes, I am, but I do not do hair professionally and I haven't done hair professionally in over five years. I think it just wasn't for me: I'm just gon na stick to lash extensions, I'm gon na be using a busser. This is a wall guard number one. Can you see it moving it up to make it one and a half, since I already have a distinct line between the short and long? I don't really feel the need to clip up my hair. Let'S try it like this. I worked out my arms two days ago. I literally did like three sets of push-ups and like a few sets of planks and my whole body is destroyed. Now it's not impressive, it's not something! I'M bragging about it's just the truth. I think about it. Oh, my god, my arms out when it comes to the back of the neck. That'S like the most annoying part. Cuz, like your hair, just grows all funky ways holy moley, okay. This is actually kind of fun. If you guys watched my last video, which i think is called the most frustrating haircut, that title was not for clickbait, I was truly frustrated, so this is going to be the interesting part, because I'm going to teach you guys how I sent out my own hair, Really right now, you can't tell me that my hair does not look like a bowl cut I'm, but I'm not gon na. Do a bowl cut this time, I'm going to try and stick with a pixie cut, but I just want to let you guys know like any time I do my hair, whether it's coloring or cutting. I never know how the end result is going to turn out. It really is all up to chance, and whether or not I did it properly also depends on like the mood I'm in, because if I'm not in a very good mood, it's not going to turn out very good. You really have to be in a good state of mind if you're gon na do your hair because it can get so frustrating. So I'm gon na section off the top half of my hair, because I really want to take off more weight on the side. And I do on the top of my head. I really like the way the length looks now. I think I look more feminine with longer hair on the top, and I kind of want to stick with that for now. This part I'm a little bit nervous about, because I don't know if I'm gon na get it straight, but I'm gon na be taking some weight off the back of this with my peanut. This is just a little trimmer, so I'm gon na hold my comb like this and I'm gon na try and make it as even as possible, and I'm gon na take some weight off of that. I'M gon na take a little bit more off the back. So if you are gon na use the same technique that I am, I suggest that if you don't really know how to do this, that well, like myself, I think it's a good idea to place the trimmer' right at the edge of the comb and follow along. It'S gon na be a lot easier and I think it'll create a straighter line, so I'm gon na try it out and we're gon na see if it works to me that looks straight in the mirror. Also, what I just figured out is you want to have the comb as far away as you can from the skin or from your hair on the back of your neck. If you go along - and you start touching the back of your neck right here or the back of your head, it's gon na create a straight line back there and it's just not what you're going for this. But for the most part that made a pretty straight line, I'm kind of impressed - I am called my comb straight now, I'm going to angle my comb more diagonal to go along with the sheet and the roundness of my head. So this is the angle that I'm decided to take and I'm going to connect from here to the middle. To give it a rounded look all right. The back of my head is straight, but straight up ugly. So, let's fix that right now there are shears that are called the thinning shears that you can use if you want to thin out your hair. But personally, I'm going to take a different approach when it comes to sending out my hair, I'm just going to take regular shears and what I'm gon na do is I'm going to make vertical sections events and I'm going to cut into the hair. You want to make sure that you have straight hair when you're doing this technique, because this does not work. The curly hair doesn't really work for wavy hair either. This is just what I personally do for my hair along I'm gon na cut into my hair, and now this is really hard to do on yourself really hard, because you can easily cut yourself so just morning. You guys try and be really really patient, but, as you can see, I took a really big section and and and that's what you want to do - you don't want to take a thin section like this and start sitting out your hair. So it's not really not going to do the job you want to get into the hair as you'll see and that'll take more weight out and it'll. Just I think, look nicer. No, I mean like professional hairstylist, they have like a guide and they follow their guide and clever. I'M not gon na do that. This is what I'm gon na use to help thin out. The harsh line in the back of my head have to do this technique. In a really awkward angle, so I'm going to take my Clippers and I'm going to just cut up and into my hair what I like about thinning hair out and if you know how to sit here, it's really nice to just go through it. With your fingers see what still feels too heavy and what feels right, if you practice on yourself a couple times, you'll know what to look for: it's not looking sick. The reason why my hair looks like a mushroom is because the sides are sticking out like this and they're tapering off in the ends. What I'm gon na do to help make it look more cohesive, make it look. Cuter is take the weight off and take a lot of weight off the sides right here. I want the bottoms to look a bit choppier right here, so that's why I'm going to take more weight off that I'm gon na start here at the top and make my way down. I hope you all can come notice the difference. I definitely notice the difference. It looks I like the way that it's laying, I think I need to take a little bit more weight off of the back. I don't know, I don't know if you guys can tell the difference between this side, this one's still kind of puffing out a little bit, but this one definitely has the round mushroom shape all right to make it a little bit easier. I am going to show you guys what I would do with thinning shears, because I think for beginners who are cutting their own hair. The technique that I was using was definitely more advanced. So let's try with this with this, I'm gon na still take vertical sections. Since this hair is short, I'm just going to only go over the section once, but if you have pretty thick hair, you can cut the section a couple different times and a couple couple different areas of the hair. So right now I'm cutting in the middle of your shop, and you can repeat that process more or less anything like that. I think that just helped me make it look a little bit better. So if you noticed there, when I was holding the hair, I kind of moved my fingers like this and it helps to move the hair around, maybe make them straighter or if the hair gets super bunched together, which is what was happening with me. I can move it like that to spread out the hair so that I'm able to thin it out in a more consistent way, guys I almost cut myself. This is dangerous. You, oh okay. I think this second layer of my hair is finally finished, and I'm just going to do the same thing on the top layer looks like I'm back. Looking like Justin Bieber with this. Do could that's just how it's gon na have to be? I guess, but I'm gon na go around with listening shoes, but it's definitely shorter and I think more put-together yeah. It is that's, no, no so pretty much. This is how it looks. I just took a quick shower just to get all of the hair off of me because it truly was a lot to do right now, but I'm gon na get back to you guys once it dries. So you can see the finished results, but I still need help around my ears and on the back of my neck, so I'll probably get either my dad or someone else to do that for me, but yeah. That'S how I trim and cut my hair by myself. So we're at the end of the video now - and this is the final result of my haircut - I am pretty impressed with how it turned out. I hope you guys have a great day and I'll see you soon.
