#DominiqueSachse #HairStyling #HairBlowout

Hey good to see you this week, it is a hair tutorial, in fact a blowout and how to get four different looks out of a short hairstyle. I am in a grow out phase, as you've probably noticed it was a short pixie quite a few months ago, and it is now sort of a hybrid pixie bob, almost a full-on bob and the choice that you have in a pixie grow out. Is you either? Let it all come in and it's it becomes a shag almost like a lisa arena, shag or you keep bringing the back up while you let the front come in and that's how it grows into a bob. So that was the choice that i made. So i continue to take this up. I try not to stack too much because i want it more of a clean straight bob as i let all of this grow in so i'm going to do a blowout for you on how to get this look. Nice and smooth just a nice good volume at the part, type of a blowout and then we're going to transition into some very different and varied, looks so to get going. I'M going to treat my hair with drunk elephants, wild marula, tangle spray, that has a heat protectant in there too, concentrating especially on the front dry areas, and you don't want to get that too close to the root line, because it could weigh it down. This is my old elchem hair dryer, i'm not quite sure the model. It'S it's one of the basic models with the first part of the blow dry i'll just be using my hands, manipulating, pushing everything forward and you're going to see me moving the part line. Quite a bit and applying heat to the part, that's how you get some volume at the root with the hair about 50 dry. Let me turn around just so. You can see the back i'm pushing everything here down and flat at the nape of the neck. Okay, so this is the point where i want to start incorporating my brush for those of you who know me well and have seen my hair tutorials before you're. Probably thinking well wait a second usually at this point, your hair is getting really curly and really frizzy. What'S going on here, i had a brazilian blowout about six weeks ago now and it has been a game changer and a lifesaver for me for us, curly, haired gals. If you've never had a brazilian or a brazilian express, i can't say enough good stuff about it. Cause i've got hair all over me. It really really helps to tame that frizz and i'm able to get about half of my hair dry without having to start manipulating with the round brush. But this is the point where i really want to do that two reasons. I can get more lift at the root and i can also smooth and straighten my brush of choice today is by from take a look at this. It'S a really interesting concept. As you can see, it is almost like a square rounded brush. The benefit of this is on this part of the brush that corner. You can really use that in the root to be able to get some lift and in this flat portion right here, you use that to be able to pull and straighten and get the hair. Very flat, okay, so we're going to start going in section by section, really smoothing out the sides and getting some lift on the top, and i always start with the deep parts like pick your side right. Where do you want to start? First, i'm going to start here and then work my way over now. I don't want it real, big and poofy here on the sides, so i'm working more just to smooth and to straighten and not create a huge side poof, if that makes sense, where you're going to want a little bit more lift is to the back to get More of that angle, coming in so that's where you hold that brush a little bit tighter to your root line and allow the heat to intensify there. So you can get some lift in the back of the head up to the crown. Now, if you've seen my side, swept bang tutorial, you'll know that this technique really comes into play here. We have to be very careful about creating lumps and bumps on the front of our head, especially if we have bangs. So what you know by now is that you absolutely positively do not take a brush underneath and go like so to do your bangs, because you get the old bang bump. What we're trying to do is create smoothness, it's a little bit more of a swoop. What'S so great about, that is that you can start switching up part lines when you swoop it forward like that, you can do a deep side, part you can cut in in different areas, but the minute you've created that bang bump you're stuck so we're going to Start going now under and you see what my hair is doing, it's already telling me where it wants to fall. This piece wants to come forward here, so to get it smooth and straight, it's two-step kind of like the two-step, the texas two-step you go under and you pull it and then you go from the top and you straighten it. So now that we've got that front part smoothed out and swooping forward, it's time to get a little bit of volume here on the top of the head, that's where this brush comes into play, so i'm going to really fasten it in on my part line like So and warm it up now, i'm not going to leave it like this, because it's going to create a big bump on top now, it's time to pull it straight see, and it continues that, but it gives you just a little bit more volume up here. I don't want this area to have a bump, because i've got more of my lift here on the part, so i'm coming in here now and i'm just really sort of flattening and smoothing out. So there's no anchoring like this. It'S more of let the root. Hang a little bit and pull it straight and by the way this is what makes a short, hairstyle more modern and takes out that old. Lady look, but i think i you know me: i love short hair on women, but i think that short hair can be dated or short hair can be really modern and cool, depending on how you blow it out. So, if there's anything that i can impart, that is to avoid the big bumpy, rounded type of a look, because that really dates your short hair style. You want to be smooth sleek, a little bit flatter to the head, a little bit longer up front and i'm telling you it completely transcends a short hair look and it updates you and it's youthful. So i just i mean i can't even emphasize the importance of a haircut is one thing. The importance of the right blowout is so underestimated in my book. So i'm really happy you're here with me because after i can't tell you how many years of watching and paying attention, i have learned the do's and don'ts and i am thrilled to share it. So, let's keep going we're smoothing out this side, we're going to create more of a lift back here, because again we want to have that height swooping forward. So here we are back at the crown of the head. You saw that i warmed up the root line. I'M holding it here a little bit now as it cools, but i'm still gon na straighten out the ends and not release the brush. That'S how you get it modern, lift, but straight and smooth so again, no bump. Here, no sticking out, i'm basically put anchoring the brush underneath, but i am pulling it straight and i'm warming up these roots to go a little bit flatter and for the rest of the ends to go straighter all right. So there we have our blow dry and we've got volume here, smoothness here straightness here to get your length and let me turn to the back. So you can see that we have, and it's also the way that it's cut, because there's a there's a slightly shorter layer right here right, which gives me a little bit of pop. And then these are all the layers that i'm letting come in and eventually what will happen is this choppiness at the nape of the neck. This undercutting will eventually be gone, and these layers right here will come down to here and that's how you grow in, or at least one of the ways to grow in a pixie, and this is this is starting point number one i mean to me. This is a really cool and great hairstyle, it's very natural, and it has movement to it, which i like. I would never anchor this with too much hairspray whatsoever. In fact, i would honestly just go out like this, or i've got fiberflex by helium hit it from underneath, especially in the back. Whenever you spray your back area, you don't want to hit it from top down. You'Ll just weigh the whole thing down. You just want to lift up a few pieces and then hit it from underneath and that's how you get the top part to pop out okay. So we're going to use this as look number one all right. Look number two is a super easy transition from this and it calls into play clips barrettes and things it's wonderful to use if you're growing your hair out and you're in between looks. I do this a lot. In fact, in my yoga class, this is how i pin my hair back and even just to sort of jazz up a little bit and outfit. I love clips and embellishments. So all i would do in this case, and this works well with the deep side part. You just take your front section right here and we're just going to clip away this front piece with the barrette and that's it, but what this does is it eliminates? Now? Your shorter layers - and it makes it in fact, look more all one length and this i love this look. It reminds me of cameron diaz in there something about mary. She had that really cool bob. She didn't have the shorter layers up front, not as much, but it was worn like this, with with gel and so anyway, but but really cute and adorable, and really neat to go out keeps your hair off of your face. Like i said, it helps a lot if you're doing a grow in and you don't know what to do with all of those front pieces, and this will prevent the temptation from cutting. So here's this look from all sides. All right, super simple! So get yourself a decorative little barrette, or something next up is having fun with a flat iron. You can definitely wave this look and my encouragement to you is this, so this flat iron is by babyliss pro prima 3000. What i love about it is what you see right here: make sure that you see it, there are lights and you can dial in the heat those on off ones. Scare me because that means it's either super high heat or it's off. I dial in the absolute lowest heat, because i want to protect my hair and my highlights again. You want to be uber uber careful now you can wave, since these hairs are shorter, you're not going to get so much wave there, but you can definitely wave some front pieces, so i mean it can be just a real, real, simple type of a twirl. Just some pieces around your face and by the way, what's really great about this technique, is that it will make shorter hair look longer real, quick, there's something about waving it. That just adds some length and especially if you kick out the ends a little bit even more so so you just work your way around. You can twirl, or you can do the other technique that i showed you which was up down and around and get those kinds of waves. Whatever you feel like doing, you can do. A mixture of all of the above makes no difference and, at this point, you're not going to get a lot of curl in your hair and that's really not the objective. It'S just to get a little bit of bend and motion to it. The way to do it here at the part line, is you anchor it? You get a nice bend right there and just let it swirl on through and just anchor it at the part line and then pull it through front. I'M swooping back like so a few more pieces, kick the under ones out and they're all going back for the most part, except for, like i said these pieces here. I'M kicking them out, especially by the nape of the neck, okay and then, when you have everything exactly where you want it again, i like the fiberflex and i'm just this - is a real kind of messy loose, really cool. I think weekend look jeans a little boho chic, i told you. Doesn'T it make the hair? Look a lot, fuller and longer it's as if you suddenly took a hair supplements overnight and poof and just use your hands and play with it. Like i said, i'm i'm using this from underneath because that's where i want my lift and then what i like to do is just sort of play with where the highlights are. You know, pull those forward, so you can see those pieces take them. You can twirl them a little bit with your fingers with the uh. You know if there's separation, the light in the dark take them out. Whatever makes you happy you can use, you know: texturizer pomade whatever. If you want it piecier i mean that's completely up to you all right. I don't know if i got every hair, but i think for the purpose of this video you'll get the idea. So here's how it looks from the front side you can see the separation is sort of the bend in the hair in the back and now this side. Okay. Last but not least, is a very, very popular look right, now kind of the slick back look especially for women with short hair. It'S rocking it was rocking on the runway. It was rocking at the award shows, remember those anyway, it's very easy to achieve. So what you do is you find a good, deep side, part the deeper, the better it's very dramatic, okay, there's mine and you get a wax or a pomade. This one is by brazilian blowout for texture definition. All of that, so i'm going to get a good amount and i'm just honestly going to slick it and slick it good all going back, but i'm still going to want some height up here this i i do this um. I did this. I haven't been out in a really long time, but um you know. For me, this looks really awesome with a simple clean black jacket and i have a pair of black tuxedo pants. Almost a a masculine look kind of like a victor victoria. It'S it's really really neat, and once you have everything where you like it, you can hit it with spray um. You probably won't need it, because you've got a gel or a pomade in there. I really like the ends almost having a bit of a wet and piecy. Look to it. It'S almost as if you just got out of the shower. You slicked it back and said. I'M going out like this, so anyway, um i've seen a lot of celebrities. Do this and again i love it with jackets and that kind of masculine look. I think it's it's great and by the way, if you don't want to mess with your hair, how easy is it to get a pomade slick it back and call it a day? Another advantage of having short hair by the way there you go short hair blow out four super quick and easy and fun and trendy and on point styles, isn't it awesome, isn't hair fun? I can't be the only one who thinks so. I just can't, if you have not done so by now, will you please subscribe to my channel ring the bell get notified when i release a video which is every thursday at one o'clock? Anja Dikeman: I've been binge watching your videos! Lol I stopped wearing make up, when I turned 40 and I just cut my hair short to get rid of my blonde hair and go back to my natural graying hair. I LOVE your videos. It's a real education! I have NEVER put effort into my hair, but when I showed up with my short hair everybody at work loved it and so now I am determined to learn to blow dry my hair as good as my hairdresser. So far the results have been hilarious! Lol I am a bartender at a country club and have to look my best. Thank you so much for these helpful videos!

Alesandra Zamprogno: What a lifesaver you are ! I nearly made a drastic mistake. I turned 60 last week and wanted a fresh hair change, so after my third yes 3rd visit to 3 different salons to get a cut that suited me I actuaIly accidentally ended up with a pixie haircut! You saved me from a great fashion mistake as I mentioned I’m now 60 and I thought I liked the “poofy” look until you set me straight in this video. Just in the nick of time.Thank yoooooooou ✨✨✨ Love what you do for us, please don’t stop even if it’s just for me xx

Amy C: I just wanted to say a quick thank you to you. I’ve been scared to cut my hair all my life because I thought a lob would be so bad for my face shape (square/trapeze). Watching your videos for past few months have given me the courage to try something new and I just got a lob hair cut with shape angles in the front and I LOVE IT. Thank you for always being so inspiring and full of amazing tips !!!!!!!!

GoodnightRain: This video could not have come at a better time. I had just gotten my hair cut into a long pixie bob, and I went straight to some of your older videos to learn how to style it, because you are my teacher of all things lol. And lo and behold... wouldn’t you know it.. you had posted this 41 minutes before!! Even my husband’s mind was blown at the timing!! Perfect, as always. We love you Dominique!!

Ellen: I’m with you, short hair done right is absolutely beautiful on women in their prime, and you have it down perfectly!

Alexandra: Thank you SO MUCH for this amazing tutorial. It is clear, to the point and easy to follow - which for me was a life changer!!! Yes - my short bob (growing out my pixie) was poofy and I looked I was carrying lots of fluff on my head - but now, after 1st try and following your am advice - no more poof - my blow out looks like a walk out of a salon and got many compliments on my zoom meeting. My hair is soft, straight, with nice volume and the bouncy front. Thank you thank you!!! + I love that you show other options - I wearing my hair today pinned with a cute pin. Thank you - cannot say it enough.

Liccurici: I just had my hair cut like yours today (you were my model actually) and I cannot wait to try this blowout! You are really wonderful, I love your tutorials in hair and make-up! I have no idea about your TV work, but woman, the first time I saw a video of yours, I got hooked! You became my 'go to' tutorial on beauty. Thank you, Dominique!

Melissa Oden: Oh goodness...thank you SO MUCH for doing this tutorial! I am right there with you in terms of where I am with my cut. This has been so inspirational and makes me want to just keep hanging in there! THANK YOU!!!!!!

Rara Avis: Faithfully following in your footsteps hairwise...maybe 3 month's behind. I just always love your hairstyles and the blowdrying tutorials are definitely an added bonus! By imitating whatever cut you get, I now finally know, how to style my hair properly

Joyce A: I'm thinking of letting my pixie grow out for the fall/winter months. This was just the video I needed! Thank you from this 70 year old chick!

Terry Giles: Thank you so much for your tutorial! I was so distressed about how my hair looked after a bad haircut even though I found an excellent stylist to fix it as best as she could. It’s over processed and super dry! I put tons of conditioner on it before I showered and just rinsed it out an it was a huge help! Thank you for showing me the correct way to blow out my hair! It made such a huge difference!!!! My hair is a little bit longer than chin length and I hate all of the natural curl in it ugh!!! That blow out made my day! Thanks ever so much! You are beautiful outside and in❤️

Diane Allard: This video has changed my life! …my hair styling life. I have been stubborn, trying to get different results blowing my hair out the same old way. I watched your video twice before finally deciding to try the blow out technique to avoid bumps … OMG, thank you so much for sharing this technique. It works wonderfully well and I haven’t had a bad hair day since. This makes all the difference. I am really really grateful!

Sharon Kirkwood: I love all of Dominique's video. She explains and demonstrates in a way that is easy to follow. ❤

Rebe Frazier: Loved the tutorial this week. And yes, Short hair is so much fun!! Thank you so much for sharing!

Olivia Dirik Tackett: Thank you so much for pointing out the importance of the blowdry for this cut! It really is the difference between the dated look and the modern look. Subtle corrections to the styling really make it modern. People have been complimenting my "new" haircut but it's just the blowdry that changed!

Bionic Momma: I actually shaved my hair off last March ( and did a few "upkeep" shavings) due to illness and meds. But by November or December I started letting it grow out. I watched your last hairstylist video, but my hair wasn't long enough yet...now I refer to that one ( and now this one) as my hair reaches the same length as yours!! Thank you for posting to give me ideas for my mess of a head of hair!!!

Sheila Gilliland: Yay! Thanks so much! I asked for this as I’m letting my ultra short cut grow out. After not being able to go to the salon for nearly 3 months...I got my money’s worth not knowing when I could go again. This is so helpful! Greetings from Nashville.

Laura Jenkins: Omg, thank you so much for this! Im growing out a pixie and it's about as long as yours, been trimming my neckline, but still afraid to go to the salon. Thank you for teaching blowout techniques for my weird length. Lol! I'm so excited to try this tmrw. You're amazing! I very much appreciate the time you spend explaining. I havent found this anywhere else. ❤

Michelle Lida: This video is outstanding! Love how you get rid of the hair "bump" I always struggle with that....and BTW, been getting Brazilian Blowouts for years - they are Holy Grail! Also, you are JUST STUNNING, classy and always a joy to watch Dominique.

Melissa Allen: Thank you for the four amazing styles. I just had my hair cut into this type of bob and now I can style it in a sleek way. Truly appreciate you and you are so beautiful inside and out. God bless.

Trish Bliss: Thank you for this video! I am in the same transformation as you @ the moment; growing a "pixie-bob" into a more blunt one length in the back. My hair grows very slowly, but there are lots of great in-between looks in the meantime. Btw, I love your necklace

Elaine Dryer: You inspired me to go a little shorter with my bob - more texture, etc! Thank you so much for your tutorials as I have learned so much and like my cut!

Caroline Cooper: I love watching your videos!! Always classy, upbeat, and filled with great tips!!! I’m in the middle of revamping my style and I’m definitely going to apply some of your tips!!!

Ronda: Love this video!! I'm growing out a VERY SHORT pixie since March. It was always about 1 1/2" and I got a million compliments but after 16 years I decided to grow it out. 2020 is the year to do it since nobody is going anywhere and if you do then you've got a mask on so people cant see who you are anyway! haha I'm having a ball with it because my hair grows sonic fast (thanks to castor oil and collagen powder helping A LOT) and every few weeks it takes on a new style. Normally I would pass on this video because my hair was much shorter but now I needed it so thank you!! Gave me some really good tips!! xo

Mike and Julie Carson: Thank you for this tutorial, I just got my hair cut and these styles just might work for me! Be well! Thank you for your positive attitude and encouragement.

Shannon and Deryck Hill: Loved this one! Really helped me with a recent cut that went to short and I don’t have much to spare around my face. Thanks!

runspud: You teach all the little details that make all the big impact on the finished look. Never frumpy always fresh! Thank you.

Carol Lamothe: Thank you Dominique for the great tips! I have a similar short hair style and you gave me some ideas on how to deal with my bangs. I love short hair styles too. Also, your color w/ highlights looks beautiful! Be well!

Sheila Garcia: I absolutely love all of your tips & tricks for all us young at heart gals Thank you for all of your graceful guidance and sophisticated advice. You’re a true blessing. Ive been watching you since the beginning and I think you’re an empowering and motivating role model for anyone who watches.

Sydney Martin: You make it look so easy!!! I'm slowly trying to implement some of these practices with my "crazy" hair. You've had lots of practice and have it down pat. I will keep working on it! I found the brush at Ultra today, although it's dark and not the "cool" color yours is. Thanks for always doing such a good job listing all the tools and products so specifically. That makes everything easier to ask for and find.

Jenny Kirkland: I've been watching for about a year and you have been a God send. I used your advice and got my hair cut short last week, 1st time in 30 years and I absolutely love it. Today's post was perfect timing. Thank you!

Tanya Kobaly: I love this! Love the cut, the color and the style. Just beautiful.

Melinda Mueller: I recently cut my hair into a bob with some stacking in the back and I love it! This video (and really all of your videos) was so helpful with styling my new cut. Thanks Dominique!!

Kate G: Thank you, Dominique. I'm learning how to work with a shattered bob/long pixie and I just tried the techniques you showed on your video. It gave me wonderful lift and volume and I'll keep using the same blowout. Love it! x Edit: I'm sorry, I forgot to ask. What do you recommend for when you want that piecey Lisa Rinna look? I want some texture but I'm having trouble figuring out which product to go with.

Lynn Hughes: That’s awesome I just had a Brazilian blowout as well and am so excited you had one to. I absolutely love it This helps a lot with my new hairstyle thanks so much for this tutorial

AM GDN: Dear Dominique, I am also growing in my hair, very painful stage, as it is ca. 2 cm shorter as yours, so thank you for sharing your hints and ideas. You are a great inspiration and - well, I have to say - an example to me (48, Polish, living in Munich). Love your classy, self-confident but modest and cheerful personality, reflected in funny, wise and non-pretentious videos. Thank you very much!

Blondie D: This is probably the BEST video I have seen on blowdrying this hairstyle. I had a bob, grew it out during C-19 lockdown and just recently cut it to the length yours is here ..really considering a pixie! At any rate, my hair texture is like yours and everytime I refer back to this video using your techniques I am not disappointed. Love your videos and your style! Thanks for the tips!

Christine Mack: Dominique, You make styling hair fun and easy and you're awesome!! Your hair is so shiny and bouncy. I want to go short, but still too attached to my long hair. Have a great week! xo

Laura Evans: Wow what a game changer! I’m having such difficulty styling my new cut and this is extremely helpful. Thank you so much!

PurpleHaze929: I love the way you style your hair. That is so how I want to do mine. I have a very similar cut. Will keep working on it. Thank you.

Martina MNM: Short hair rocks!! I'm turning 40 in 2 months and cut my hair short again 3 weeks ago, the same length as yours and it was the best decision. I used to have a dark brown pixie cut in my early 20's which I loved. Short hair is so freeing and like you said, all you need is a little bit of product and it always looks great. I'm a new subscriber by the way, your videos are very inspiring!

Jennifer Krzewinski: Your hair tutorials are always my absolute favorite!!! You make the blow out look so easy!! I try, but it never turns out as great as yours

Dawn C: Hey Dominique, I watched this video again this past weekend. I happened to drop my blowdryer that afternoon and it stopped working. I decided to order online an Elchim blowdryer. I never spent more than $50 for a blowdryer. I thought I deserve to buy a good blowdryer. I got the blowdryer in the mail yesterday and OH MY GOSH! I told my husband it was like the Ferrari of blowdryers. My hair never dried so quickly and turned out so soft, shinny and bouncy. I love my new blowdryer. I thought I had to share and say thank you for sharing your products and techniques to all of us. Even though this videio is several years old, your information is still helpful to us all. Thank you, Dawn Chaney

Denise Mullin: Dominique I so enjoy watching all your tutorials/ videos! You explain and demonstrate everything so well it makes it easy to follow and understand the technique/ purpose you are using . You are beautiful, thank you! Be well!

Marilyn Byers: I love your short hair tutorials -- I have the same haircut ,and learning your drying and styling tricks has been great. I get so many compliments!! Would love to see a video on day and night face and eye creams for mature women at different price points. I look forward to seeing you every week -- so glad I found you a few months ago!

64Biina: Love these tips Dominique! And luckily Amazon Australia also stocks the Fromm hairbrush so I have ordered that today. I am due for a new one! Thanks for all that you do. Cheers, Tiina

Lupita Rodriguez: Oh all of them look gorgeous Dominique!❤ thank you for sharing all your tips and advices! I'm really learning from you a lot! I just cut my hair and I was looking for different styles! God Bless you and Thank you very much!

Rose Minier: Yeyyyy.... I love your hair tutorials ! I absolutely love the way short hair looks on you and I literally can watch your hair tutorials all day long over and over again ❤️ I always learn something new from your hair tutorials please keep doing it !

Traci Lowry: Thank you so very much. My hair is growing back crazy thick on top from hair loss from chemo. This helped me learn how to get rid of that dang bump. Love your look and your easy tutorials. Thank you!

Myra Gomez: My 12 year old loves your hair she watches you every night she has short hair and mentioned she wanted me to attempt to style it like this with this tutorial I will ☺ We also found pearl barrette style clips at Dollar Tree ☺ TFS

Celeste Benzler: Watching your hair videos has change my hair so much. I’m to cheap to have someone cut my hair my hair. Since I started using your techniques I get so many compliments and people keep wanting the number to my stylist ❤️

Kristen Schwark: Grew out my pixie bob! I had it cut last January... and it's nice and long. It's funny when I look back at photos from a year ago and how well it grew out! Looking forward to seeing what you will be doing during the grow out phases!

IntoFitness with Amanda Cremonini: I am obsessed with watching your hair blowout videos as I have a pixie cut that I am now growing out! Mine never blows out as nice as yours though - you make it look so easy xo

Niki: Thank you Dominique. This video is fantastic. I cut my own hair finally & it's very similar to your hair. Just ♥️ it

Krystyna Calloway: Can I just say that the brush you used is phenomenal! OMG! My hair is not straight (naturally or due to blow out). It's wavy like yours (maybe not as wavy). And I've been kind of struggling to blow dry my newest style (long story). But this brush has just changed my life. So far anyway. My hair has a way of knowing I'm doing something different and will only let me do it for so long before it changes its mind! LOL. BTW, I love ALL your hairstyles. I wish I had your hair and your talent for doing hair. I'm generally hopeless.

Teresa Hammer: I just want to say you are a class act and as a woman approaching 50 this year I feel like you’re making the journey a little easier! I’m hoping to be as fabulous as you are

A bit about me: I dry my hair using the same technique and I've got below shoulder length hair!!! Love your tutorials Dominique, you rock! Kisses from Italy

Neta Morton: You’re the best! I love your tutorials and all the knowledge you share with us!❤️

Charli Seitz: You make it look so easy! I have such a hard time! I will keep practicing--I just had a new bob haircut, and I am learning...Letting my silver grow out also...!!! Thanks for the vid!

Libby Miller: I am trying to grow out my pixie too....these are GREAT ideas!! Thank you!! I so enjoy your vlogs and also your Instagram...Not long ago you put up a message that I REALLY needed to read! During these unsettling times we find ourselves navigating through, you provide a bright light! Stay safe....

Doane Triggs: Such OUTSTANDING instruction! Thank you for taking the time to inspire and enable all of your devoted viewers.

Brenda Thompson: I love your hair tutorials. Really helps me on the bang blow out. Thanks!!! Hope you and your family are well and at peace. Please say hello to your Mom from all of us!

Rita Dumaine: A test of lipsticks that are “supposed” to stay put would be interesting to me. I hate when it gets on the inside of my mask. Everyone I have tried over the years either disappears or gets cakey and flakes off. Thank you for all you do for Houston.

Jennifer Golay: You make it look so easy and do it all so effortlessly. Love every look on you.

set c: I love your hairstyle. It really makes your eyes and jawline stand out. You've inspired me to go to a shorter cut! Going from bra length to a little longer than chin length. I'm excited!

forouzan behnia: I love everything about you! Your look, the way you talk, your knowledge and your taste! You are a beautiful and amazing woman.

Deidre Eggleton: This is so much fun. I have short hair & am often disappointed watching videos where they all have long hair. And your techniques certainly do give your hair a modern look, I'm inspired to try these when I dry my hair. Thank you <3

M.B. Ahmo: Loving the music! Such great tips. I currently have a very short pixie which I plan to keep tapered at the back as you suggest for growing it out. My part to one side lets my hair lay flat while the opposite side will work for the slick back style. I think I'll be there by Spring if I'm not tempted to keep it super short. I always look forward to your videos. You keep it real and classy! Love your giggle too!

Timothy Sherrey Ehler: You are right; it starts with a fabulous cut, along with the ability to properly blow dry the hair, while using the right products to help achieve each look! Your hair looks fabulous, Dominique! The 'bob' is one of my favorite styles, but it does require knowing how to properly straighten, while living the roots when blow-drying wet hair! Thanks for sharing your techniques, Beautiful! Have a lovely weekend! Love, and hugs from across the border, Dominique, Sherrey

beachbum285: Love your content and tips, too! ❤️ stay healthy!!

Diane Reid-Lapointe: Thank You Dominique, I think I will try this, I'm too old to have my hair so long at 78 and kept it long because I didn't want to look like an old lady. Very well explained, I like hair to look natural, no pouffs as you say, no bumps lol! Thank you, the haircut is also very important, hope my hairdresser will check out your video.

rhonda binstock: Stunning as always! Just bought the square/round brush! Thanks for the flip tip! ;)

Lisa Schooler: Great tips on specific information such as how to control the things and how to avoid bumps! Thank you so much! I have this exact same brush, two different sizes. Just in case any other Watchers read this, I got mine at Sally Beauty because they have been clearancing them out at some site slowly over the last year - and yes it is the Erich Fromm version. There's another version of square rounds blow dry brushes that have a blue handle that are raved about on certain websites - and although they are slightly more gentle, the other brand in blue handles do not grab the hair good enough so I think the ones you are demonstrating are by far the best ones that I have used in a square brush ( if you need a brush that grabs the hair more securely).

Kim Proffer: Such beautiful looks! I’m growing my pixie into your style Dominique and loving it! Thank you so much for sharing! God bless you

Renee Prince: Your hair is so pretty and I love the color. My pixie grow out is a tad shorter on the sides than yours and is as far as I go when growing it out. Thanks for the fun tutorial :)

sroltgen1: Fun editing in this one lol...I went back to school in 2014 for cosmetology. The hair got very short in school and as I aged got very naturally curly. It feels like it barely grows, although I do have a shears right next to me in the drawer daily...whoops...anyway, your hair seem to grow so fast! Has it always been this way for you:)

bruely82: DomUnique You are so professional even when you talk about blow out. You are so smart and adorable! I love the way you add value to everything you do/talk about.

Helene Knops: I love this. My hair is still too short for this to work, but it will come in handy in a few months. Love your videos!

thatgirlmadge: This cut is so gorgeous. Great tips on blow drying! Beautiful! Thank you!!!

caathy79: Dang it just when I’m trying to grow out my hair you come along and show yours! As always beautiful style

zinnia patch: Thank you ! Thank you ! Thank you! I recently got a short choppy bob cut and I’ve been having a terrible time getting the look I want with it! I can see the blow out is my number one problem ! I am going to try everything you did! Wish me luck! And I think you have beautiful hair!

Nancy Sharapata: Hi Domonique I am so happy you are doing this. I just got a haircut. So I really needed this.thank you so very much for this video. Stay safe and healthy. Big hugs .love you so much.

Kirk & Elisa Hart: I literally got my hair cut in the same style you have last night, THANK you for the tips I can’t wait to try them! You are AMAZING thank you for all that you do!

Raini Cascadia: Love this! Though my hair is longer, I suffer with curly, frizzy hair. Many helpful hints here for me! ♥

Roberta: I always envied women who found their “perfect “ hairstyle and continued to wear it the next 50 years! Over the years, I had long, short, straight, curly!! Finding you is my “soul “ hair guru! You keep trying everything with your hair and gently, patiently explain what the heck you are doing with your hairdryer and brush as you create your wonderful hairstyles! Bless you for your continued inspirational gift of sharing!♥️♥️

Coco Meintjes: I had long hair and cut my hair during lockdown, using youtube as a tool. Thank you so much for this. I have cut my hair almost like yours but struggle with blowout, this tutorial has inspired me, as my fringe is still growing out.

Trish Ramirez: I ❤️ all the looks! I want to go short but fear takes over ! You have me thinking about just going for it!! It’s only hair and will grow back!! Thanks Dominique!!

T.J.: thank you for being such a busy woman who takes time to show the rest of us how to look like an on-air cekebrity. (well almost, I try). Love your style and generosity! Hugs from North Texas!

Nerida Alvarez: Hola ! Cabello y los productos que usas . Saludos y bendiciones desde México ✌

Zowie: Hi, ive been watching You tube videos for years but you are the first person I've messaged, I love you're advice and tips. You're gourgous and thank you so much for sharing everything. I'm going through quite a tough time at the moment and the stress has definitely taken a toll on my skin and hair . You're videos cheer me up and ill definitely be trying some styles out. Keep uo the great videos x x x

Regina Penniston: Thank you for this video. I have layers and look so old fashioned, this helped me tremendously. Love this video!

EverydayHomemaking: I love this cut (you call it your in-between grow-out; I call it an amazing haircut for me! LOL). However, I am in my 60s and have thinning silver hair AND I wear eyeglasses (non negotiable, unfortunately). I've worn fringe-y bangs so I can have something covering part of my high forehead, but sideswept doesn't work with my glasses. Any suggestions? (BTW, I love your videos!)

Welcom Welcom: I've been straightening my hair (organic) for the past few years every 4 months and for me life changing. Costs a fortune upkeep and products I use but worth every cent. If your hair looks good every thing looks good!

Glenda Johnstone: Exactly what I needed trying to figure out how to let my pixie grow out! Big help! Thank you!

Katy Simpson: Mega helpful, thank you. I’ve just got a bob and it looked modern from the salon but my blowdrys really poor it out and it looks so old fashioned. So, I needed this, thankyou!

Rowan Pullen: Thank you so much! I lost all inspiration and you gave me back so much with this video. I’m so wanting it to grow out but this makes is fun again!

Robin Manly: Hey Dominique - I'm pretty sure you can't demonstrate this on yourself, but I'll bet lots of women besides me are growing out their silver. I'd love to see how to make this look professional during both the grow-out phase and beyond! My blond-y friends don't have much of an issue, but the rest of us ... ay! Got any ideas that don't involve wearing a headband or spraying on color! LOL! I'm the boss and I need to look like it! Thanks for all your fantastic content!

Anne Wood: Took a while to source this brush in Australia. Worth the wait as this technique and brush are game changers! Thank you Dominique. I love all that you do and you are an inspiration! Especially during a time when we all need a bit of sunshine in our lives. x

Elizabeth Delaney: Thanks for sharing! I have been struggling to get the swoop side bang to my bob and I think I’ve got it now! And ps your arms are so toned! Please share your workout routines. Would love some tips on that as well. As always love your channel and your tutorials! A stay amazing and real!

Christine Ibanez: FANTASTIC! As a woman 40+, I love the look you have- it's professional, not "dated", and the randomized curls and "bend" work really well to give the shape. Growing a pixie is hardddddddddddddddd.
