Hi guys, I'm Emily Anderson, Emily Anderson styling on Instagram and we're here with prom today and we're gon na do a huge makeover on Miranda. We are going to cut all of her hair off into a pixie and we're super excited step. 1 start by taking a horseshoe section from Temple to Temple using the from ProGlide cutting comb. The comb features a sectioning tooth that makes it easy to create clean sections. I like to place my finger where I'm partying to and then just glide through the hair step. 2, my model has thicker hair, so I'm using the Frog rubberized grip clips to tightly secure my sections to start the cut, I'm working with their dare one piece: sheer it has an offset handle that's very comfortable and ergonomic step 3. I'M taking diagonal sections and working from short to long. She has a lot of thick hair, some point cutting throughout the front hairline to keep it soft. The shear has a nice sharp edge that allows me to keep my point cutting clean. I maintain the same elevation throughout then, once the hair is dry later in the kite I'll go back in and detail out the hairline step 4. I'M working in subsections as I move down the head to maintain control, continue point cutting throughout focusing around the hairline. I want to leave more softness so I'll go back later, when the hair is dry and point cut into the nape area to detail out the fine edges, but I'm not worried about that now. Step 5 move to the opposite side. Here'S a tip always leave a little more length on this side when creating your guide, to avoid cutting the hair too short and having to even it out later, I'm marrying the same technique cutting from short to long, but now my fingers are pointed up. Instead of down step 6 after both sides are complete release the top section and comb it forward. I want to keep more length in the front, so there's a couple of ways to achieve this start in the back and extend the length forward or create the front length and use that as the guide that's the route, I'm taking step 7. I like to visualize the front length and use this first section. As my guide, I pick up a small piece from the back section to see the connection and cut it a little bit shorter to create the guide step. 8. Now I add the next section into the previous section and continue working with a traveling guide section, a into section B, section B into section C. So it's not going to stay stationary continue this technique until one side is complete and then repeat, on the opposite side step nine! Now it's time to blow dry, I'm using the shape of the head to cut the hair to the head. Then I'm smoothing out the top section step. 10 Miranda has very thick dense hair, so I'm point cutting to remove weight throughout the entire haircut and slide cutting to remove some weight at the root area. I love the adjustable screw on this year because I can loosen it up a bit for dry cutting step 11. I channel cut the top section with slide cutting to break up the weight step 12 after I'm done removing weight it's time to detail out the hair line. I comb it out first to what direction the hair naturally moves in and point cut in the direction of the hair growth. I continue detailing and personalizing. Then I apply some pomade for that perfect pixie finish. What do you think about it? I think it looks lovely.
