So many of you have asked shirley what would happen if you didn't use the blow dryer, just let your hair dry naturally. Well. Here'S the answer to your question. Now it's not bad, but this is so not me. This is not how i would leave my house. So what are we gon na do? Well, typically, i would wet my hair. Add my styling products blow dry. It go through the whole shebang, but in the effort to do something different and to help those of you who don't like to use a hairdryer or you know, maybe you shower at night time you like to let your hair just dry. Naturally, you get up in the morning, and it's like what do i do so if you don't want to start over from wet hair and use a hair dryer we're gon na figure out how we can go from this to something i would actually leave my house In if you're new here be sure you hit that subscribe button, and now, let's get started since my hair is dry. The typical products, like my root, boost my shine serums. Those kinds of things are not going to work on my dry hair, so i went through my cupboards to see okay. What could i use to add a little bit of volume from this dry state now before we get going? Let me just show you what we're dealing with here, so this is apparently my natural part. It'S where my hair wants to fall. Many of you have asked if i have straight hair, curly hair. I have some weird curls throughout, so i do not have completely straight hair, but here in the back you'll see it is laying pretty flat. So for me personally, i need some more volume and lift up through here. We need this straightened out and just have it look a little more modern. So i went through my cupboards and i did find two dry shampoos here, i'm a little afraid to use them because the scent i sprayed these on a tissue just to see what they smelled like and the scent is so perfumey and strong. So i thought well, why not use a little bit of the kenra volume spray now this is super hold, but for me it's not super hold, so i'm going to start by spraying just a little bit of this through the crown i'm also going to spray. Just a touch through this portion right here and let's see about right here, because i want, as i flat iron, i am going to use a flat iron and as i flat iron it, i want the flat iron to have a little bit of product to kind Of grip to and to help the hair hold in its new flattened state or lifted state, so um, i feel like adding a little bit of product through, is going to just help add a little bit of texture in the hair because, again, i'm starting off with Absolutely nothing in my hair all right. Next i've got my flat iron, i'm going to start off with it at 370, which is my normal temperature and well. This is a pretty high part for me. Normally, i part a little bit further over, so we're going to kind of keep that in mind as i flat iron, so um. I am going to see if i can work the bang section over and then right here where i have all of those kind of crazy curls. I'M gon na pull the flat iron through and one other note is. I am getting my hair cut tomorrow. Hallelujah i had her leave it a little bit longer last time, because i just wasn't sure there was a few things i wanted to tweak, but consequently the undercut was also left longer. She kind of angled out the undercut, so my hair is tending to do this. Mushroom shape so we're going to also take care of that, and what i'm going to do here on the sides is i'm going to pull the flat iron almost like. I want to flip it out, but not quite so. What that's doing is it's kind of taking out a little bit of that bump up here and then i can take the flat iron kind of through and it's just going to, hopefully help make the hair look a little bit more messy and piecey all right. Let'S just move on through here and the top i'm kind of doing my my usual thing and i can tell there's a little bit of extra volume from that kenrish spray. But it's not quite like i get when i use the catwalker boost and blow dry. My hair, so we're going to have some work to do with our dry wax all right. I'M gon na take this through and, as i am you'll see, i am combing this over because again i want a deeper part. Then my hair naturally wants to go all right and then you'll see right here again because it's so long and it's long underneath i'm getting this bump out here now. This is a tip if you are growing out an undercut and you're trying you're at this stage and you're like oh, my goodness, what am i gon na do again? What we're gon na do is we're gon na take the flat iron and kind of angle it towards the head and pull down, and you can see it just kind of flattens that, because there's no way you can flat iron those little tiny short pieces underneath. So this is kind of my solution lately just to kind of flatten those down just a little bit. So i know we want volume up here, but we don't want it on the sides right all right. Let me just take a peek at the back. I have a mirror on the side that i use so hold on one second, okay, so the back is, you know, laying down so we're gon na change that up slightly now. You'Ve heard me talk about it before, but this is another good test to see the power of enjoy dry wax. So i get lots of questions about this and i will leave links in the description box below for a couple of videos about it. Also some links of where to purchase it. No, this video is not sponsored. I'Ve just used this product for years and personally, i've never found anything else quite like it. So i'm using a small amount in my hands to start with and the trick with this product. You really need to warm it up in your hands. You can use your blow dryer, but since i'm not using my blow dryer today, i just work it between my hands all right and now, as i distribute it, i first start kind of on the ends of the hair and i'm really just kind of touching. My hair, all over you, don't have to worry. This dry wax, does not dry like your typical gel, so you want to distribute it kind of evenly before you start molding and shaping your hair. That way, you avoid getting massive amounts of wax like right here or right here. So you don't want to you, don't want to get any big chunks of wax anywhere all right. So, as i mentioned, i want a deeper part. I'M going to work this over and as i'm doing that scrubbing my fingers in the roots of my hair, all right and then in this scalp section. Many of you have asked: how do you add volume? How do you make that back section stick up? Well, if you have just a minimal amount of that wax on your hands, and you can see i'm it's almost like i'm giving myself a scalp massage, actually feels quite nice all right, so you can see. I mean you can go as crazy as you want to back there, we're not going to leave it like that. So don't worry we're getting closer. So now now that i have a good amount distributed and my hair is looking more messy, which is what i personally like i'm going to now just take a little more wax on my hands and use this to just piece, a few sections or tame down. So right here you can see it's like kind of all scrunched up in there. I'M just gon na use my fingers to just kind of pull that outer part of the hair over. So it doesn't look like it's ratted underneath or anything all right and then just going to continue working through my hair and shaping certain sections, and then i'm gon na check out the back again and i'll. Let you know what i find out: okay, so in the back i'm kind of pretty happy with this. It'S a little bit messy kind of spiky, not really um. I just usually tame down a few of the longer hairs there in preparation for hairspray all right and then the final thing i'll do like right here you can see where that mushroom is starting. So what i'll do is just take a little bit of that wax and kind of press it towards kind of the side of my head and towards the front, and i find that that really helps kind of narrow. That in and for me, because i have kind of more of a round face, that's why i don't want extra volume here on the sides, because i feel like it brings more volume to and width to my face. If, however, you have a more narrow face, volume out to the side is actually going to be good for you. So all right now, i'm going to switch to the instant freeze hairspray by aussie, the ken rack, a lot of people love this. It'S just not enough. Hold for me personally, but a lot of people do love it, so i'm going to go in with aussie now and i'm just really going to kind of finish. The shaping and lock it in place. All right. I popped in some earrings and now here is our finished look, so i have to say i'm pretty surprised that from where i started to where we ended up that i got here without the use of a blow dryer. Now, obviously, it takes longer for hair to air dry and for me, because i have super thick hair, it actually takes a couple hours. So it's not really a time saving measure for me, but it did definitely save my hair from that extra heat damage from blow drying. So for those of you who've been curious to know, if you can air dry your hair and still style it successfully. Hopefully, today's video is helpful for you. As always, i will leave links to all the products that i used in today's video in the description box below. Thank you so much for watching i'll, see you next time. Bye. You

Jennifer Lee: Sharalee your hair came out great! It is good to know how you style it with no hairdryer. My hair is short like yours and a similar style and I have an undercut, but I have lots of fine hair and it drys pretty quickly. I will try this one day when I have time not to use a hairdryer. Thank You!

Snels: Great tips, thank you!! It looks great! My hair does the same when I air dry it, so I always blow dry. Now on these sweltering days I can let it air dry and still have it look good! ☺ Have a great weekend!

Nikki Cipriano: Oh my this is how my hair looks when I leave it to dry naturally too! I adore your styled hair looks and am currently looking for inspiration for my pixie cut that I've had for soooo many years! I cut and shave my own hair (I've been doing this for years as I havent been able to find a hairdresser who is any good with shorter hair!) I will look into the products that you use and will also try the tips you use! One thing.. my hair always ends up being crusty and stiff from the hairspray as I feel the need to set it so it doesnt move (lol) How do you get yours looking so perfect and looking so soft?!?! x

J D: I don't usually comment on the internet at all, but I feel it's important to tell you that I have searched and watched many videos on styling pixie cuts and yours by far is the best! You explain exactly what you are doing and why. It was also helpful hearing about taming down the sides if you have a round face. I have always been awful at doing my hair (and I'm 43, and have have pixie cuts since I was 18). And f.y.i...i love the messy style in you, it looks wonderful.

Sandy J: That was awesome! We have an idea for the next video -- Say you are on vacation and discover you left your blow dryer AND your flat iron home and there's no way to style your hair with ANY heat products. What would you do to style your hair? This would be fun to watch. I'm sure you would think of something and it would come out amazing! Hope you do this for us.

Gayle Logsdon: That’s how I look without blow drying my hair flat and not feeling like me ha ha. You did such a good job of styling your hair from flat to a stylish trendy look. You’re amazing. It was fun seeing the progress from start to finish. have a good weekend. Hope your temps are not as hot as ours here in Texas. The heat is unreal. Humidity is even worse. Guess I better not complain just deal with it. Bye for now.

A Sou: You hair looks just as pretty without using the hairdryer as it does when you style it. Very natural.

Lilia Patricia Reynoso: Increíble me encantó Y fácil de hacerlo Desde México con amor

Home with Kelly P: Hey Sharalee! I was shocked seeing your hair air dried!! My hair when super short would look like that too and I never knew what to do with it. Wish I had known these tips years ago - may have saved me some embarrassing pictures - LOL!! You certainly are a hair master! It looks gorgeous as always!!

Melanie Wright: It looks so good!!! I definitely dry my hair way less with a dryer compared to what I used to do. I have started using a lot of the L’ange hair products. Their dry shampoo smells so good! A nice light clean smell. Not perfumey at all!

J&C Losek: After watching many of your hair styling videos I purchased the Enjoy dry wax and Catwalk Root Boost. I definitely do not have thick hair, so I was really worried- but what a difference! Using both products actually makes my hair look thicker. Thanks for the recommendation.

Mercedes Godoy: Copied your haircut and love it. I use the blow dryer and in less than 3 minutes I’m done. I thoroughly enjoy your videos. Thank you

Jane Fleet: That Enjoy dry wax is amazing stuff. It would be good here in the Summer. I need something like it that is not quite so hard to use in a cooler climate. Good job by the way.

RENEE Bezilla: Your hair always look amazing.I also love the Enjoy dry wax the stuff is awesome!!It's the only product I use to style my pixie!

Monica Suyo: I love your video’s! your haircut is so cool and looked great while still “flat” I have a rough time trying to flat iron my flat hair

Lisa Myers: My hair normally looks like yours before you put the product in your hair. I have not been happy with my hair for a while now!! Your video will definitely help give it more life!!! Thank you!!!

Miriam DeVries: Your hair is just like mine when allowed to air dry! Flat! I still have not mastered using the Enjoy Dry Wax, but I have had some success using the Aussie Instant Freeze to build volume. I hang my head over and start spraying and styling with my fingers. You did a great job. You could be a hair stylist! ❤

Carole Anderson: Truly an amazing job for not using a blow dryer and the root boost. Your style is so darn cute. Thank you as always, my sweet friend, and take care!!!

Patricia Johnson: I keep Big & Sexy Powder Play in my car. Many times after getting my hair cut, it is limp and not styled the way I like. This powder adds tons of body to limp hair.

Janice Chiles: Wow! What a great tutorial! Love it!

Elaine Mullins: Your hair looks so cute! Just got the dry wax in the mail and can't wait to use it!

Sam: Finally got my cut and LOVE IT. I’ve got thick , curly/wavy hair and again REALLY THICK hair so using a blow dryer takes forever too - so I air dry and the place products and style once my hair is dry and I LOVE LOVE LOVE it.

DIANA PADGETT: You did it! Your hair looks great! As usual!

Louise Carlson: Good video…love, love, love the styling and makeup tips…I’ve learned Soooo much from you-keep it up! By the way, where to you shop for earrings? Always admire them.. thanks

Kathy Friday: Hello lovely lady, I love your videos. I have been wanting to get a cut like yours, right now it's in a bob, but getting tired of it. I just love your hairstyle & have watched how you style it. Also, you look so good in the berry color eyeshadow.

valerie kelly: Hello Sheralee - do enjoy your pixie tutorials - I'm an 82 year old that started cutting my own hair during the lockdown in UK.I have found it so liberating to snip bits off [ only about a 1/4 of an inch ] every couple of weeks. The result is a very edgy pixie that I just love, similar to yours but much more rustic, haha. I do use a root booster, but blow dry it using my fingers instead of a brush and finish off with Bedhead worked through the dry hair x

Donna DeSisto: Hey girl....any suggestions for those annoying cowlick swirls at the crown in the back to cover the scalp? Your hair is nice and thick and you don't seem to have any! I love watching you. Enjoy your haircut tomorrow!

Bruce Franklin: Your hair is cut so nicely, that it didn't look bad flat, but didn't look like the Sharalee style we know and love.I love the volume you get and myself, I have gone from flat air dried hair when it was long, to getting as much volume as I can following your methods, with my shorter hair. Getting a bit shorter haircut tomorrow. Looking forward to your new haircut video.

Marc Layton: Hi Precious Sharalee…thank you for this great tutorial! Also I Love that sign behind You!! I will keep my eye open for it…Blessings & Love Marc.

Катя Ятак: Привет. Ничего не понимаю, что ты говоришь. Но понимаю, что ты делаешь со своими волосами. Это класс!!! Красотка!!!

Rebecca Campbell: I am 60+ just got a Pixie a month ago. Basically like yours. My hair texture changed dramatically after battle with cancer. Can you recommend a product that would help with wireiness and hair wanting to do its own thing? Would Enjoy dry wax help with this? Love all your vids. Thank you!

Sylvia Vandegrift: Well it looks awesome and this would be great when the power goes out. Awesomeness !!

K Black: How often do you have your hair cut? The style is so edgy, I love it.

Kraig Smith: You really look great with your hair in either fashion. I think about how many women you have helped by giving information and demonstrations for having beautiful short hair. It is really great.

Fay Aaberg: I think both ways look good. What if you put product in your damp hair and let it air dry, would that work ? Love those earrings. Did you make them or could make a pair to sell to me? Your beautiful anyway your done up . Thanks for all the tips.
