Hello there welcome back to my channel today i'm going to be doing a hair tutorial, but with a little bit of a twist, i'm going to be trying out some new products. I have used these two products multiple times before today, but i want to show them on camera and let you all see them in action and then sometimes i feel like that helps you form an opinion of whether these products might be right for you or not. The first product is going to go in when my hair is wet, and that is the redken oil. For all. This is an invisible multi-benefit oil and then the other one's going to go in as a finishing wax cream, and it is the kenra platinum, texturizing taffy. Several of you have recommended that i try this, so i'm going to be trying it out on camera, for you all and let you know my thoughts if you're new here special welcome. I hope you'll hit that subscribe button. Now, let's get started, i'm going to start, as always, just by roughly combing through my hair, and when i do new testing of products. I don't like to try all new products, so i am still going to start off with my tried and true catwalk root boost, and you can still find this on amazon and i do believe in some professional hair. Styling salons are still carrying it. So i know ulta stopped carrying it. I don't know why, but it is still available. So i just like to put that through the crown and then a little bit through here on the top. I might actually put a little bit more here. I'M going to do kind of more of my regular styling routine. I think that's kind of the best way to really compare one product to the next is kind of keep the styling the same. So now we're going to go in with this oil for all now, what this says is it provides instant diamond like shine. Smoothness and manageability ultra lightweight formula reduces blow dry time for easy, effortless styling for all hair types, you're going to apply on damp hair, concentrating on mid lengths and the ends, and then you can reapply it after you blow dry, your hair, if you need to, but I usually don't so i'm going to apply basically one pump um. The first thing i will tell you: i hate the smell of this. It is so strong and i almost feel like it has a hint of now. I like black licorice, but it kind of has a hint of like that anise kind of soapy anus smell along with a very strong perfume. So i don't know why hair hair companies put together these crazy scents that we all don't love. But i'd like to be on the scent board. There is such a thing for these hair companies all right, so you can see. I really did try to just keep that kind of more on the ends of my hair, as the directions say all right, so that worked in really easily. It does not feel like it has weighed my hair down, so we'll go ahead now and blow dry and then we'll see what kind of shine that added to the hair, so so as far as reduced blow drying time with short hair. Like this, i don't really feel like it makes that big of a difference. But if you have longer hair, you might notice more of a difference and i will say that smell is still there and present in my hair. So i just really don't like that. They put such a strong scent in it, but it does dissipate and i don't find that it sticks around with me through the rest of the day, like some products do. My hair now does feel very, very soft, but it doesn't feel oily. So that's a good thing. I think that this could work um on finer, thinner, hair. You just definitely want to make sure you keep it to the ends. I do feel like. I have a decent amount of shine. I don't think that it's any more than i get with my argan oil necessarily, but it does feel maybe a little bit lighter weight than that. I'M going to take my flat iron now and just pull this through and by the way, all of the tools and the products that i use in these videos. I do always link and list them in the description box below this video, so check out the box. There, if you miss um one of the products that i'm using or if you want to know what specific chi flat iron i use or hair dryer, it's all down there. So i'm just going to take this flat iron here through kind of the edge just a couple spots where i have kind of some natural little curls and curves and little flips. Now it has been two weeks since my last haircut and about every two or three salon visits. My stylist calls it kind of the big cut down, so she really goes in and does a lot of texturizing and it's usually a little bit. I end up a little bit shorter than normal, so this is two weeks out, so it has grown even a smidge, but it is quite a bit shorter than the last hair tutorial that i did so just for reference all right now that i feel like all Of that is good, i always like to check out the back of my hair okay. So let me show you the back here and again. She took this a little bit shorter. This had gotten quite long. I still have quite a bit of length kind of coming over the undercut there um, but this section is a little bit shorter than it was so um, but everything's kind of cooperating and going in the right direction. So i don't feel like i need to use the flat iron back there at all now we're going to go in with the styling product. So this is the kenra platinum, texturizing coffee 13, and this is a a cream. So it's definitely not a wax. It'S not really a pomade, it is quite a different texture. It'S quite um. It'S almost lotiony and, unlike you know, one of the other kind of liquidy type products that i use that had kind of fibers in it. This one really. I mean it has a little bit, but not much all right. It does, however, smell amazing kind of smells like laffy taffy. If you, you know what that is kind of a fruity taffy smell. So i do love the smell on this all right, but as you can see, i'm putting it through my hair and it is adding a little bit of definition for sure and added shine. So this is definitely adds a little more shine than the enjoy dry wax. It does not make it greasy um. However, i don't feel like this um if you need to mold your hair in a different direction. I do not feel like this does a very good job of that without adding quite a lot of product, so that is kind of one of the downsides with this product. I really don't feel like i get hold. I do get some definition so you'll see i'm creating some nice texture and definition, but um the hair is still like. You can see this, so it's not crunchy at this point, but in order sometimes to get the hold that i need. I do feel like. I have to keep going back in and then you can start getting. Your hair can start sticking together and it can kind of you can end up with hair. That'S a little hard to comb out so um. I i'm getting some good definition, but, like i said i mean it's, it's still very um, flexible, very flowy. So if that's what you're looking for you, don't necessarily want your hair to stay put like in one kind of style throughout the day. This might be a good product for you, i just as compared to enjoy dry wax. I feel like that. One is one that will mold my hair and shape it so much better and it will hold all day. So now, though, i'm gon na go ahead and go in with my hairspray. This is the aussie instant freeze, hairspray right. So here is our finished. Look now, let's give kind of each of these products a grade. So, first of all, uh this oil oil for all. I'M gon na say scent: it gets a two, it's oh! I don't like it. I gave it a two rather than a one, though, because it does not stay with me all day, long so um, but as far as the shine power i'm going to give this a 4 out of 5.. I think it does a decent job and as far as whether it weighs the hair down stays lightweight how it feels on the hair. I will actually give this a 5 out of 5.. I think it feels great. It does not make it greasy at all. So um, if this smelled better, this would probably be one of my top favorites, but the scent is the biggest drawback for that one. For me now on to the texturizing taffy, so number one the scent i'm going to give this a 5 out of 5.. I absolutely love the scent on this. I actually love it more than the enjoy dry wax, so i think they did a great job as far as the shine. I actually think this is great. Now, obviously, it's not super shiny, but personally that's not what i want in a taffy or a pomade, because usually it's going to get greasy. So as far as the amount of shine that i feel like it adds to the hair. I give this. I would say a four and a half out of five as far as the ability to kind of um piece, the hair with it. It is pretty workable and i do feel, like you can add some good um definition and texture through the hair. So i'm going to give it a 4 out of 5. as far as the hold power goes, though, that is where i feel like this one falls short for me, so i'm going to say a three and a half out of five. It'S not terrible, but my hair is really really soft, so some of you that might be what you're looking for, but i know when i go outside if it's windy and my hair gets blown around. This is not going to have a lot of hold power and because it's kind of like almost gone on the hair so to speak, i don't have that ability to kind of go back in and fluff up. The hair, like i do with the enjoy dry, wax the enjoy dry wax. It remains kind of moldable. So, if you're out in the wind your hair gets tossed about, you can just go back and fluff it, and it holds again with this one. The more you put your hands in your hair, the less hold you're going to have, so it does work out of the hair pretty quickly, and i do feel like in combination with hairspray. It can get a little extra sticky on the hair and make the hair very difficult to come out. Some of you, i told my story. The reason why i've been so hesitant to use this or try it on my own is because i had a hairstylist use. This on me and she used so much because she was trying to shape my hair and get everything to stick up just right and she had to use so much product with hairspray that i almost pulled out my hair just trying to comb it out. It was so painful, so so that's the trick with this one. If you have a really good cut like i do, and your hair is shorter style. I think this will work without having to use too much product, but if your hair is not going in the right direction already, i don't think you're going to get it there with this product. So i hope that this video was helpful for you and fun to see some new products in action. I plan to continue doing this more frequently because i am constantly trying new hair products, so i will continue to keep you all updated and take you along for these hair product trials. Thank you, as always so much for watching be sure to give this video a thumbs up on your way out and i'll see you next time, bye,

Carole Anderson: You have the best cut! I've said it before, but I would kill to have your hair style and stylist! Am on the hunt again for a new stylist. So glad you review these products and give your honest opinion. Such a huge help. You are looking so beautiful today, the whole package and love the earrings!!! Thank you, my sweet friend, and have a nice weekend!!! Take care.

Anne Wilkie: love when you show the finished look with the earrings, you always look so fab and polished! I have long hair, but I really like your style! Blessings xx

Bruce Franklin: Always like watching you style your hair, because I have learned so much from your videos. I use Amika products, Catwalk Rootboost and Enjoy dry wax ,all because of you, and they are excellent and I'll stick with them. The one product I haven't tried yet is the Aussie hairspray. My hair is definitely not as thick as yours, but since I have gotten it cut into shorter choppy layers the rootboost and dry wax have really worked amazingly well.

Norma Durr: Thank you for your honest appraisal of these products. I am a fan of short hair and the root lift is a must for those of us who desire the balance of lift and hold. Thumbs up!

Alicia652: Your are so fortunate to have hair that is thick, and easy to style in this cute pixie style. I love that you can style it to the left or right in the front! Just adorable!

Kim Proffer: Always beautiful Sharalee!! I cut my own hair like yours, but it’s definitely not as good of a cut as yours. I wish your stylist was here in S Florida. One of these days I will get out to Ca. and go to your salon ❤️

Deb Sarley: Your hair looks absolutely fabulous! Thank you for your honest opinion in this tutorial. I can tell the enjoy dry wax is still your favorite product but I really enjoy your "testing" new products videos! Thank you!!

Elisabeth Huffman: The style turned out beautiful! I’m new to your channel, so I’m not sure if you’ve ever tried any Design.Me products, but I love them. I have very baby fine hair and a pixie cut and I feel like the puff me light powder is the only thing that gives me volume and hold without weighing it down. I also love love love their texturizing spray!!!

Connie Smith-Fries: Sharalee you have the best hair on the internet! This is why everyone tries to get your haircut. I got the cut last summer and finally was brave enough to the undercut part more recently! I’ve been using the Enjoy Dry Wax ever since I found your channel a few years ago. I am also a long time fan of the Aussie Instant Freeze. I love watching your videos for your input on beauty and hair products, but I have a recommendation for you for a hair product to try! It’s by Alto Bella and called “it’s wild” (a matte cream that creates texture, lift, and hold). It has all of the same features (I believe) that the Enjoy does, like being able to restyle during the day if need be, and holds your style in place along with the Aussie. As always, I look forward to your next video! ❤️

TrueCrimeNut: Great video Sharalee!! I have been using the Dry Wax on my undercut pixie and LOVE IT. When I saw the title of this video, I though, wow, how can anything be better than the dry wax! Glad you agree!!

Dawn L.: Sharalee I enjoyed this video too. I think there is just something really good about how Enjoy drywax meshes with the Aussie freeze hairspray it's just such a good combo. I also used Moroccan oil and a suave anti-frizz cream after I wash my hair that seem to help keep the shine after I blow dry. I recently purchased the "Aussie Sun Touched Shine hairspray". It gives you UV protection Plus gives your hair a little bit of shine and the smell is great. But because of the jojoba oil in it I usually don't put it on the first day I try to not use it until my second or third day of hair styling. Anyway thanks for all you share and for continuing to make us awesome videos!!

catmama54: I just have such hair envy cause yours is perfection.

Martha Marshall: So glad to see you had a video today! Thanks for always sharing these new products! I always see them but am hesitant to try just because of cost! I just love the enjoy dry wax and pretty much know that nothing will compare! So when you do these, you actually save me money! So appreciative of you and your channel for various reasons! So glad I found it! Have a great weekend and try to stay cool! Blessings to you my sweet CA friend! One day, I hope to meet you (and your stylist)!

Eva Crabb: I love your hair style. I have been wearing mine in a similar style but every time I go for a cut is is a bit of a hit and miss. Do you have a video, or would you consider making one, of your hair getting cut? Would be interested in seeing the techniques and the tools your stylist uses.

Home with Kelly P: Hey Sharalee! Thanks for sharing - I have been wanting to try the Kenra product - if I can find it near me. Your hair always looks so gorgeous!

Marc Layton: Hi Precious Sharalee!! I absolutely love the blending of the colours….Your stylist has done an amazing job!! It certainly is a talent that she has bc it doesn’t take a lot of work for You to look FABULOUS!!!! I need to get some Enjoy wax….Blessings & Love Marc. ❤️

SfSchoen: I have a pixie, too. I used bed head manipulator for years, but decided to try the manipulator matte, which is more wax like (not as extreme as enjoy dry) and i got the texturing taffy, which i switch to some days. As I’m approaching hair cut time, the taffy works a bit better, when I don’t need to manipulate it so much. I love the smell of the taffy, it smells just like taffybut the hold level is not strong. My hair is colored/hilited, so on extra dry days i use the taffy over wax for added shine. If you haven’t tried Manipulator Matte (in green container) it may be worth a try for you, I’d love to see your opinion on comparison to Enjoy.

Snels: Super cute look!! Thanks for the reviews. I always look forward to your hair tutorials! Have a great weekend!

Brigitte Greenwood: Hi Toots, I LOVE the Enjoy Dry Wax, I don't think I could ever change, and I have been getting the Root Boost from Amazon as well. I keep a few on hand just in case, have a wonderful day♥️

Sylvia Vandegrift: I have thick hair as well and it grows fast my hair dresser asked if I fed it a fertilizer lol I use the argon oil and bed head pomade I do like it… it does help not to move if there is a wind plus hair spray. My style is the one you had before you changed it to what you have now. Thank you for sharing and letting us know your thoughts on these products so appreciate it and again your the best

Christina Morgenstern: I liked the Kendra's Taffy because my hair is longer and it kept my hair soft and movable. I wish I could get my hair to look like your cut but mine is just to soft and just will not spike up! Enjoy your videos!

Ric Calendar: Adorable as always! You faked me out for a quick minute Ms. Sharalee. I thought you were going to give me the "bangs"! LOL Always lovely, but do love when you rock those great bangs. The shorter cut is great!!

Tammy Ritter: Love your hair! It always looks great!

Jeannine Wood: I love your posts!! Unfortunately I can never get my hair to do any of these styles.. I recently got a short hair cut that's way too short and am so embarrassed... I have no way of fixing this, but to wait it out . I'm such a girly girl so this is soooo hard for me..

Lee Ann Cleveland: I also have thick heavy hair and my cut is very similar to yours. Like you, I think the Enjoy Dry Wax has much better shaping and holding power. However, I absolutely love the scent of Kenra Texturizing Taffy. And I may have figured out a way to get the best of both worlds, so why don’t you give this a try? After drying my day 1 freshly washed hair, I style with Enjoy Dry Wax and Aussie Instant Freeze hairspray as usual. For 2nd day unwashed hair, I re-shape by using my blow dryer on a low warm setting which kind of reactivates the Enjoy Dry Wax that’s already there. I don’t add any more wax but instead I add just a little Kenra Taffy to freshen things up and add a little softness. A little more Instant Freeze for hold and I’m good for another day!

Debbie Sanders: I really want to try the taffy i love my hair to smell good, and as usually yours looks great. ❤

Mariah: Your hair always looks great!! I know that smell you're talking about in the oil, there was a pomade in the 80s that would make me gag but it worked amazing. Lol

Carla Bass: I am so glad I found you again Sharalee!!!! I hope I got the name right. I saw one of your videos about a year ago maybe a little longer. I took a picture of you and I took it to my hairstylist. I have a very good hairstylist and now I have had your hairstyle for a year little bit more and I love it I wouldn’t go back to the longer hair ever. Thank you for so much and I’m glad that I found your videos I just accidentally came across them.

Yvonne Wolken-Klok: You look amazing love you`re hair and your make-up

Happy TX: I love your hair tutorials. You always look fantastic. Thanks

Maureen Jurmann: You look beautiful today, as always. May I ask what shade of lipstick/liner you are wearing. I just love it! Thanks!!

Lana Michaylira: You're such a pretty lady! Love your makeup!

Mayrene Powell: There’s nothing any better than Enjoy dry wax

Gayle Logsdon: Fun to learn about new hair products. Love to watch you style your hair. It looks good even before you’re finished ha. Your cut is awesome. My stylist is wonderful in coming close to your style but I try to explain the sides are little too long Still love the undercut thanks to you. I told Stayton today oh I see where Sharalee has a new video to watch He said tell her hi. He’s a character. Are you laughing? Hope to see you at the piano tomorrow

Libby Miller: Oh my goodness, I'm just on a "Sharalee video night"'...LOL...I missed this the other night, so catching up now! How fun and helpful too!! Your haircut is always so cute! Boy, do I agree with you on not being able to handle products with a strong smell!! I just can't get passed them, if I try it out once and the smell is not good. I bought a new hair oil the other day from ULTA... its by SUN BUM, Coconut Argan Oil....I really like it because it doesn't way my hair down at all! I also have been using a hair wax you might check out by PAUL MITCHELL called Firmstyle Dry wax.... I also really like this one too....and I feel like I can get good hold with it....Yes, keep doing these hair videos.... I LOVE getting tips from you on hair and styling! Ahhh.... what fun, I have had tonight!! And now, time for bed...Thanks again for a great watch! Hope you are enjoying the summer out in California...I'm sure it's pretty hot there! Kentucky has been rainy, but this week the temps have been wonderful!! Take care my friend!

Janice Millican: You are so lucky to have the styles that you have! How do you use self tanner with skin care on your face? Also, would you consider showing us some of your jewelry designs? Have a blessed day.

Pierangelo Locantore: You are sooo beautiful and your hair look amazing as always

Wendy Bird: I always like that you comment on the scent.... it’s important to me.... and my husband has asthma, so I have to be careful. Beautiful style as always!

Jessica Smith: Hello sweet beautiful friend! I finally got my stylist to take my back and sides shorter. It's so much better. She uses a number 2 on me. Thank you so much for helping me get to this point. You are such a sweet beautiful woman. I'm so fortunate to have found you.

Mollie Nolen: I have used Kenra products forever! I think that they are amazing for my hair but. . .it turns out I now have an allergy to it. My scalp itches like crazy!!

Gary Vaden: Sherelee, I have been noticing your wall color and really love it. I have been searching for a similar color. What is that color? I watch you all the time and have learned alot. I also love your Sunday song too. Thanks and keep it coming.

Monica Suyo: You have the coolest pixie! I’m envious as well my hair is very fine☺️

Karen Hunt: It’s adorable,I am keeping this video. I have that cut but my hair stylist can’t get the back right.

T Shafa: You make it look so effortless.

Christine Frank: You will need to try the Kendra 10. It has more hold and I love it for short hair.

Jane Huey: Do you wash your hair everyday? I tried the taffy when I had short hair and agree with you and I have fine hair. Besides doing your you tube job which I know takes a lot of time what else do you do during the week? Would love to see another vlog “a day with Sharalee” Have a great day!

J Little: I absolutely love Kenra hair products. Have you tried the kenra hair spray it’s really great with your type of hair style.

Kim Mailloux: Hi Sharalee, have you ever done a review of Hourglass makeup and especially the eyeshadows? I have not seen anyone do a review on these.

Diana Woods: Your hair always looks so nice. I'll stick with the Enjoy Dry Wax. I love your eyes. Did you use the eye love bloom, peoni? I ordered it and would like to see a tutorial on it.

Stuart Pierce: Fun video I love Cat Walk good stuff. Thanks Sharalee Jennifer ☀️

Mayrene Powell: Your fingers work magic on your hair Sharalee

Mommy2juan JesuslovesME: Sharalee, do you have to "train" the hair from front to the top of the head to naturally want to go there❓ I have never worn my hair coming forwards. I had to start with a toddler boy cut at present. The bangs & the top of my head are the longest parts of my hair. It's growing into under cut Gob bless you beautiful Spirit

Lisa Henkel: Have you ever tried Redken Guts (a product similar to Catwalk Root Boost)? Just a suggestion!

TLCF: I just love your hair! Could you tell me what your hair texture is, fine, thick, medium? You're are such a beautiful, classy lady.
