Hey friends, so I just bought a pencil flat iron. It is read by kiss and it is a three tenths inch pencil flat iron, where you can do edge curling - and I am super excited to use this today. I'M gon na try to see what happens with my hair. I washed my hair this morning in it I let it air dry, so it's really just ready to curl. So I'm really curious about this. I haven't even opened it. So, let's open this thing and get to styling the hair, so this is so interesting, so it's got a really nice handle um. The cord has a turning motion so that you won't get your cord just tight tightly wound. So I'm gon na go ahead and um and plug it in and we'll try this bad boy out. So how was your week on? Did you have a good week? I had a pretty busy week. Basically um, let's see what happened this week. I worked a lot. We had to take her car. This is such a crazy story. We were parked at a rec center ready to go golf, my husband, myself and we were inside paying for the cart and someone came in and said they crashed into her car. So the whole left side of our car, like basically the whole driver's door, is completely destroyed. But we took our car in this week to to a collision center and got a rental car. You know that nine yards, when you have either get into a wreck yourself or someone crashes into your car and basically we're now driving a rental car for a couple weeks. So that's the big news this week other than that I'm just having a relaxing weekend and every way that's really interesting. The on button is right here, so we're gon na just let this heat up for a second. The other thing is that we're gon na be taking a vacation here pretty soon in a couple weeks. So I'm taking a week off of work and my husband is taking a week off of his work and we're gon na take a little trip to Oklahoma City. We'Re gon na just rent a hotel and we might get a massage. I'M super excited about it because we haven't done anything fun in a while all right. I think this is hot, so I want to prepare my hair a little first. So this is a camera. A perfect medium spray, I'm gon na. Actually I seem to do better with curling hair using a hair spray. First, and especially this is not um, it's not going to get it. It'S it's a medium hair spray, so it stays stays flexible but because my hair is so straight, it does help to get some product on it before I try curl it. So let's try this. I'Ve never used a flat iron that was this small before, and it also is kind of rounded so that I think this is really good for curling here. So I'm going to try to start way in the back. It was pretty easy to take that first curl. So, let's see how it took that first curl, pretty good, I'm going to try one more in the back. There is a little unlike um, curling iron. There are these little grippies here on the side like there's one right here and there's one right here, and so it does help when you're turning like this to have those grippies there. So I really like that they put those on there, alright. So the back of the box says, while I'm curling my hair, I'm gon na I'm going to read the back of the box here for you. It says this ceramic tourmaline plates produce negative ions to eliminate frizz for smooth softer, looking hair with even heat distribution. There'S no damaging hot spots. The other thing you could do other than curling is use this as a typical flat iron like if you just have really short hair and wanted to do the flat just a flat iron. This would work as well. It'S just a lot. Smaller, so I think I think it could use be used as a flat iron or a curling iron whoo. This is totally gon na, be fun, definitely don't grab it from the edge there because it is super hot. So what is your favorite hair styling tool? Leave your comment down below. Do you like your hair dryer? If you have a pixie cut? Of course you don't have that picks cut to answer this question, but you like is your curling irons, your flat iron? What kind of tools do you use? I'M really curious. I'M going to try going from the side, and that worked, so this is the first time I've ever used anything like this. It'S not looking great right now, but we are going to keep trying I'm going towards the right side and if you have short hair like this, it seems like. If I don't get quite everything under, it leaves some out at the top and the bottom, and the other thing is: if you happen to turn it before, you really get the hair at the very edge. You might be kinking it a little bit. Okay, we're making progress. Okay, you definitely have to work with smaller segments all right, so I now have curls throughout here. I think I might put one more right here all right, so here it is so far and now I think I'm ready to do some styling right. So I've got this texture paste that I use quite frequently. This is the road don.t texture paste for men. I liked it except I don't want to use too much I'm using about that much and you really want to work it into your hands before you get it in your hair, because you don't want your hair to be sticky. So what I'm gon na do right now is start trying to style this. Something like this is good for me. If I want to do something different, because my hair is always so flat, so I think um, I don't know it's kind of got an 80s kind of Flair, but I'm starting to like how it's looking you just got to keep working it until you're happy with It and of course, if you want throw some extra curls in there, I don't know what do you guys think I think it came out kind of cute. There'S. Definitely lots of volume all right. So let's take a look at this. This is the side you have one here and that's kind of going crazy right there. So this is the right side. Here'S the left - and here is the back okay. I think we are ready to do a final spray, so there it is that that was the cool first experiment. With this. I definitely wanted to learn some better techniques on how to get tighter curls in there, but I personally wouldn't want to just have just complete curls. I have one it's kind of styled and messy kind of like this, so I definitely think I'm gon na use this. Some more one thing to note: if you do get this, I kept trying to when I was making a curl trying to hold this end, and this end is too hot. So you have to get good at just twirling it around here, but I do like this. I will put the link in the description down below, for where I got this from as well as this texture paste and this camera hairspray, but yeah. I hope you enjoyed watching this. I am definitely gon na use. This again, I feel, like I actually did my hair today, so anyways thanks for joining me today. I hope you have a wonderful day. Don'T forget to subscribe and like this video - and I will see you next week, thanks bye, you

Lannie Jolaine: Giiiirl it’s not a curling iron ‍♀️ you’re burning your hair wrapping it around and holding it there. With this all you have to do is curl as you go, twist as you pull and it will give even better curls without having to hold it in place as you do a regular curling iron. This is a straightener that curls.

Linda Dillon: I'm happy using a pencil flat iron, because you can smooth and curl your hair. It's good to back over your hair to catch anything you missed too. I just love it. I stopped with the curling irons because they were frying my hair. I've even done my pixie with the pencil flat iron and curled it all upward on back and my sides and top I rolled it to the side and my sides over my ear I rolled it up like the back. It was so so cute. You should try it sometime. Best to you Sage. Linda from Texas.

Linda T: Just got my pencil iron from Amazon an hour ago! Super excited to use it tomorrow morning! Thanks for the tips, brought your pic to my hairstylist last week and she did an amazing job! I have auburn hair with copper highlights--this cut really makes my blue eyes pop! Been binge watching your videos for a few days now, lol. Thanks for all the tips! ⚘

Doreen Munoz: I really like your videos. I've had a pixie cut for quite a few years now. I like getting ideas from your videos on styling. I like to change it up. Honestly, I have a small flat iron that I've had for several years & I've always been able to get a nice curl with it. It's like a travel size by "CHI". Keep making these great videos.

Wandajune Bishop-Towle: Thank you for the pixie videos! I have been looking for ideas to add a little life to my (naturally) gray hair. You rock sister!

lisa blondin: I just came on here for the first time AND I really like you. You are genuine and honest. Thanks for sharing your trauma while showing me how to use my new mini flat iron on my cut that is just like yours. I hope the car situation turns out ok?

Sally Warne: Love watching your videos and hearing about your life. I've always loved pixie cuts, - right back in the 60s, great to see different ways of styling it. Love from Sally in England x

Dixie Drost: Hey Sage Dawn I think it looks super cute! I have always wanted a smaller flat iron for short hair. Thanks for the info!

Myth Called Love: It hurts my heart to see you using that 450 degree flat iron like a curling iron. I'm still learning how to flat iron. Your doing better than me. I had that one I didn't like it because there is no temperature control. They hv some pencil flat Irons on Amazon that hv temp. control.

Charlene Kelley: Yes I have a pixie cut, I use a 3/8 " curling iron which I can only find at Sally Beauty Supply. I love your videos so much.

Lynn Morin: I have an asymmetrical pixie cut and I love my straightener to curl my hair. It works great

Marilyn Giannuzzi: I agree,I don’t think you should be holding it on your hair, just curl it & let it go.I just ordered one of these for my short hair cut!

Pam J: Hey thanks for the video! I also watched one of ur other videos where u used a hot brush dryer. Do u like the small flat iron or that blow brush dryer best? Also, have a great time on OK, and have a safe trip!

Judy Jones: When I use a flat iron on my short hair I slowly twist the iron in the direction I want the curl to go. That is why I love a flat iron for short hair.

Mary J Flanagan: I bought the one with the chrome plates. I absolutely love this flat iron for my extremely kinky hair. Garnier sells a sleek and shine line that has a heat protector. It's best to get a fine spray or misting bottle of heat protector. Without it, hair should never be heat styled. You could pull it out half way and then start rotating the flat irons to catch all of the hair. Your cut, color and style look very pretty. Thanks for sharing.

Judy Alderden: I have curling irons in several sizes. Tomorrow I'll use my skinniest one and hope for a miracle. I just got a cut and my hair is waaaay shorter than I expected. Not excited about going out to work tomorrow. If the younger girls were there, they'd say "Cool!" But they're not. One of the older ones has a habit of saying with a strange look on her face, "Do you LIKE it?" My gray hair is poker straight and has no body. Your hair and make-up are CUTE!

labchic97: When I use mine in my pixie for volume you start at the root and pull straight up and over in the direction you want it. It gives great volume

Able Mabel: I'm a grandmother so I'm allowed to say this. You're adorable and you have an angelic face.

Mary J Flanagan: I am have extremely coarse haor and ny straightening brush from Sally's and this pencil flatiron are my fave styling tools. I don't use a blow dryer. Your curls look very pretty. Maybe you should use a rat tail comb.

Kas H: Hi! Just discovered your videos and I love them! Do you trim your own pixie?

Rhonda Willhite: I would think it would be good for getting close to the roots being so small. Root area is where I have a problem since my hair is curly especially when root area is growing out from straightening.

Nancy: My hair is just like yours. I have to be careful not to set the curl too much. I like the looks of this flat iron.

Faith Phoenix: That looks very similar to my mini GHD, only the plates on mine are just a teensy bit thicker. I tried curling my hair with a small curling iron and it kinda dried out my ends. I hope I didn't fry them, I'm trying to grow my pixie out :( Sorry to hear about your car...at least you have a vacation to look forward to. Hopefully your car is fixed before you go so you don't have to stress over it!

Betty Leggett: Thank you for your video I just loved it you are so natural and lovely. It’s made me think about getting a pixie cut. I am elderly and often wondered if it would suit me?

nadia arkar: I'm ready to beg you - please tell me who cuts your hair (if it's in California I will drive no matter how far) . I tried so many hair salons and it looks like they don't understand what i want and you hair cut is EXACTLY how I want it. I know it's call pixie, but your length is just perfect.

Diane DelRocco: If you place your iron all the way to root start turning and then lift out you will get more volume and have more control of the iron

Scottie Finch: You're videos are awesome!

Ellen Schram: The only tool I use is my fingers. The syntax of that last sentence sounds so were! Anyway I think they work best for me. I think I’ll maybe purchase one of these flatirons. My hair is nturally curly, so dings wk! Hehehe

Dawn Prendergast: I love your earrings! Where did you get them? I am a new subscriber as of today. I am loving your videos! I already ordered the hot air brush and the wire headbands! This pencil straightener is going on my Christmas list! I can't wait to try them all out. I cut my hair into a pixie in June (from having hair down to my waist! ). I am loving it, but have alot to learn in terms of styling it. Thank you for all of your tutorials! ❤

Sandi: I have a short pixie (love it) and I use a half inch flat iron.

Joan Hopper: Love it!

ROAMING RUCA: Love it I just ordered this iron

Martha Marshall: Cute! Love your earrings as well.....do you mind linking those?? Thanks for sharing! Be Blessed!

Diane VanderLaan: I like your lip color -- what did you use for lip color and liners?

Patricia Winslow: Very cute...I like it a lot!

Stephanie Crews: HELLO WHEN FLAT IRONING YOUR HAIR #1 SECTION YOUR HAIR , DON'T GO TO THE END OF YOUR HAIR THEN START BENDING ...... PUT THE FLAT IRON ON THE HAIR THEN START YOUR BEND KEEP BENDING UNTIL YOU GET TO THE END OF YOUR HAIR TO MAKE A COMPLETE CURL THATS IT #2 GET A HERCULES FEATHER COMB AND YOUR HAIR WILL COME OUT SO BEAUTIFUL...

Sandi: I love my 1/2 inch curling iron styling my pixie.

PATRICIA TORRE: I liked that iron, I have my hair as your and I am going to buy one of this

rojohn1014: I enjoy your videos and you wear the pixie so well , looking so feminine. I think for older women like me, it would be too harsh, but I’m tempted.

Mary Bpyce: I use all my tools depending on the look I want. I am still trying to master the flat iron. I don’t seem to have good coordination with it

Jeni Friedt: Please don't hold that iron in there like a curling iron. You're going to FRY your hair. Just slide it through in a curved motion.

Gunnar Berli: How long was your hair before the pixie cut?

Ruth Jackson: Hot air brush is what I use on my pixie

frank janvari: hello try it let's find out if it works if yes please kindly film it ok ? Thank you very much

Jumpupatya Daniels: Hi sweetie you are using this all wrong its not a curling iron you use it different to curl hair not the way you are good luck in the future !!

Liz King: I like it

frank janvari: hello if you get hair clips you can use the hair clips to hold the hair curls until they cool down try that please ok ? Thank you very much

Clementine Monroe: Memaw heehaw

Dorothee Wolf: Nicht mein Fall

The Wandering American: Well you're beautiful but the curling iron sucked. I don't care HOW you use it.

Donna Wheeler: 6
