Hey friends, i hope you're having a good weekend so today i am going to do a style on my hair, i'm going to use a set of hot rollers, so my mom. Actually, let me borrow these. She uses these. These are remington, and i honestly don't know if they even sell these anymore, because i looked for them online. This is just like a travel set of hot rollers and i'll see. If i can find some alternatives that you can still get, if you don't have any anyway, i didn't wash my hair today. I washed my hair yesterday and i didn't blow dry it. I just let it air dry, and so today, i'm just going to do a style with some hot rollers and see what i can make of this all right before i get started. I just wanted to take a moment and kind of give you an update about my personal life, so we had a pretty sad week this week for those of you that have followed me for the past several months and year year and a half it's been since I'Ve been on youtube, we lost our sweet little dog pixel and she did uh make her way across the rainbow bridge. We really really miss her. It'S been very hard for me, as you can imagine, because i've had her for. I can't believe it. It'S been 16 years and we first got her when she was probably she was probably six weeks old and she was like this tiny she's like a chihuahua terrier mix and my kids grew up with her so like they remember all the milestones of their growing up. She was right there with them, and so it's been a hard week. My son actually lives about two hours away from my daughter and we we kind of made the decision last weekend that it was too much suffering. She was unable to go up and down the stairs and that's how she goes outside she had stopped eating. I could tell she was just suffering and it just wasn't right to hang on to her and just because i wanted her there. So i've done cried myself out, i'm just looking at a lot of old pictures and trying to remember her. I think the biggest thing for me is i'm used to her presence in the house like her little click clack of feet like every time we would go in the kitchen to go, get something she would be. Oh, is it snack time and she'd go in there and just like the routine of having her around has been really hard for me, but i also know she lived a wonderful long life and we got to enjoy her for so so many days and years and Hours and minutes we, we really miss her and we love her anyways. So i'll i'll stop talking about sad stuff for a minute. Let'S do something with my hair. So what i'm thinking is. I'Ve got two different sizes of curlers. I'Ve got a bigger size and a smaller size, and i'm thinking about putting the bigger ones here and then the smaller ones down here, or maybe opposite, maybe the smaller ones up here and the bigger ones down. Here. I did a really deep part right up here and i really want to have most of the curls going this way, i'm not really looking for like super curly, hair or anything just want to put a style in here, and i want to make something out of This, like very deep side, part so still trying to make my decision about whether i want to put the big curlers here or here. I think i'm going to go with small curlers here, because i haven't gotten it professionally cut in now over a year, and so my hair has like different sizes, at least around here anyways, so i'm gon na do a part like that wrong size. I wanted to do the smaller ones right here: okay and then they've got these little pins here to keep them in i'm gon na do another small one right here, i'm gon na do this one correct this time. I think the bottom of that pin needs to go underneath there we go that stayed much better. I have this undercut pixie here. As you can see, this is the part that i think needs the big curler. I'M thinking my hair is just not long enough for these big curlers, so i'm gon na continue on with the small gray one there we go all right now being that i have this undercut pixie. I want to do something with the back part here as well as probably this piece right here. I have two curlers left that are the little ones these two i'm kind of curious. If i put one of the big curlers in this set of hair back here, if it'll stick, i think it's going to. Let me show you how that looks all right. I'Ve got another piece right here: i'm not going to do anything with this piece right here. Okay, so what i'd like to do is leave these curlers in for about 10 minutes, because i want the style to set if i'm putting curls in it, sometimes i'll spray a little bit of hairspray on it. While it says i'm gon na do that, okay, so i am going to be back, it'll be just a second or two for you, but i'm going to be back in about 10 minutes. While i let my curler set okay, i'm back so i've let these set for about 10 minutes and i'm gon na go ahead and take them out. I'M curious how all of you are doing. How are things in your part of the world? Let me know by commenting down below look how cute that curl is, that is adorable. Take this one out so anyway, back to my discussion about my kids, my kids spent the week together just to be a support for each other, and i thought that was awesome. That they did that from pixel's passing it's hard dealing with loss, certainly losing people is much harder. But when you have a dog, that's part of your family, it feels like it's a person right, so you can have incredible feelings of loss with a pet and i'm sure many of you that are watching this video have as well. It sucks that just dealing with loss is a part of life, but i think it's probably overall it's hard to deal with, but it's a natural thing, so part of that makes me feel a lot more at peace with things. Look how cute this is, though, i'm gon na stop talking about uh, my emotions and and how i'm feeling this week, but i'm already loving how this style is coming together. Honestly, let me show you the back. I haven't done anything. Let me show you the back. Now i'm just going to play with it so with pixie cuts you either blow dry it or you do some type of heat or curl, and then once you've got that set, then you break out the product and for this particular hairstyle, i'm breaking out one of My old favorites, this is kenra platinum, texturizing, taffy, number 13., one of my old favorites that i've used ever since i got a pixie cut in the last three years, so i am going to get a little bit of this. It'S one of my favorite colors, which is lavender and it smells like taffy. It smells real sweet. You don't need a lot of this probably got too much. But what i do is i just rub it on my hands and it kind of feels sticky and then that's when you're going to start playing with your hair. So what i want is a lot of height on the top getting this front part to kind of curl over like this, and whether you have an undercut pixie or just a regular pixie. You can still do this depending on how short your pixie is. Now, if the top of your hair is quite a bit shorter, you're going to have trouble with putting burlers in look, it doesn't look super curly. It looks like a style all right, so let me show you the sides in the back here all right. Well, thank you so much for joining me today. I hope you like this style, i'm a big fan. I think i might do this every day next week. I think i'm gon na need to get myself some hot rollers too, because i like how it's not super curly, it's just styled. I love it so anyways if you like this video, give it a thumbs up if you haven't subscribed yet i'd love to have you and i promise next. Video won't be as sad, and i appreciate all your support and love. You guys we'll see you next time. Bye, you

Theresa Jopson: Another fun video from my favorite hair stylists ! I am always inspired by your videos because you make the styles doable for us. You are never afraid to experiment and the styles are great! I am so sorry about your loss. I have two little dogs getting up there in age and cannot bear the thought but as you said we are blessed to have them for as long as we do and it is a part of life. I said the same thing about my cat when I lost her "I miss her presence" they add so much to our lives just being here. Thank You Again!

Deanna Ingram: Sorry for your loss! On a positive note, your hair looks great! I have never used hot rollers, but I think I might need to try them . . .

Karen Blankenship: My heart goes out to you about your sweet dog. I went through the same thing with my Pomeranian a few years ago. During her life I went through a lot of surgeries/ health stuff and my Cindi girl was there for me and a great comfort. I am getting a puppy next month and can’t wait for her companionship! This past year has been too lonely...kids grown and gone and not being able to see them or the grand kids.Always love your videos, I am praying for you and your family.

Glitter Berserker: If you've never tried using curlers to faux hawk your hair I would recommend it. I've done it using velcro rollers but I'm sure hot rollers would work just as well. This video makes me want to pull my rollers back out and play with them again.

Kristina Huntley: I'm so sorry to hear about your fur baby's passing. It's ok to show how sad you are. On a brighter note, I think this may be the best look you've done in awhile. Hot rollers...who knew? I also reaaaallllly love your blouse!

Nancy Gerbutavich: I’m so sorry; I know from experience it’s brutal; they are truly part of the family; every time I see a black lab, I smile and think of our sweet Hershey! She was the best!! I’m thinking of you; it just takes time! ✌️I always enjoy your hairstyles, amazing what you can do with short hair!

Livvy Costar: So very sorry to hear about your beloved Pixel.I will light a candle as I know how upsetting this is for you and your family sending all my love and healing..I really love your hair ,must give it a go .I love all your videos and looking forward to your next one.Take care and hope you and your family stay safe.God bless you all lots of love and hugs from England xx

AM Home and Garden 258: I love how easy this was

Madeline Ruehlicke: So very sorry for for the loss of Pixel. I always enjoyed checking out to see if he was in the little basket in your bathroom. Prayers for you and your family. Your hair and makeup, as always, look amazing!!

tove [email protected]: Love your style with the hot Curlers. Your hair always turns out wonderful. I wish I could send you a picture of my pixie cut.

Bonnie Lemmon: I'm sorry to hear about your baby. We had ours for 18 years. It's never easy.. Always amazed how many styles you can do with a pixie. Stay safe and warm.

Music Lover: I've just started watching your videos but wanted to say how sorry I am about losing your dog. I lost mine a few months ago (She looked a lot like your Pixel), and it's been pretty rough to get through. I hope you feel better soon and get through the grieving. God bless you.

Njeri Y: Super cute! I just ordered the Calista Perfecter Pro after seeing a video you made. Can’t wait to try it out.

Lorraine Roberts: How sad to hear the news about your lovely dog Pixel my thoughts are with you. Really like the style you created with the rollers, we are still in lockdown here in Wales and no idea when it is going to be lifted. SO.... being desperate I let my husband cut my hair, I now have a rather shorter than normal Pixie Cut so rollers are out for me I’m afraid!! Look forward to seeing your next video.

Linda Mcginnis: Love your hair. So cute. Sorry for your loss. Losing our fur babies is heartbreaking and my prayers are with you.

JoAnn Deisenroth: I am so sorry about your dog. I can imagine how much it hurts. Know that you gave her a good home for many years! She gave you lots of company! I think your style looks cute! I have not seen electric rollers for a very long time. I think they worked great for you. Have a good week!

Vicki L.: Your hair always looks great! I'm so sorry about your sweet dog. I had a collie growing up who had the sweetest personality and was so great with us kids. He died fairly young at about 7 from pneumonia. I still think about him and miss him and that's been over 40 yrs ago. They leave a permanent impression on our hearts!

Patricia DeWeese: You look beautiful. Your hair tips are great. We had to put our cat down, so I understand your sadness. It gets better with time, but grief is a process.

Jan McMahon: So sorry about your loss. Love your hair and can’t believe you haven’t had it professionally cut. Maybe you could do a video of how you cut it at home

turra gorman: So sorry about the loss of your dog. You brother in law lost his dog this week too. So love the thought that they both are running together over the rainbow. FYI, you look AMAZING in that emerald color top.

Pam G.: I like your new "style." I didn't really think you'd be able to use rollers even as big as the smaller ones with your hair length, but I was so wrong. Turned out cute. Sorry about your little dog's passing. It does hurt - I still can start crying over losing my 15 year old beagle. He's been gone several years but I still miss him so much, really as much as if he were a person.

Kim Ghoss: Good afternoon Dawn .So sorry to hear about Pixel .Noticed he was missing in the last three videos (as he was in the little basket behind you) We had two cat’s one lived for eighteen years and the other for twenty one years. That was a long time ago and always felt could never feel that wonderful bond again with other cats We had them from six weeks old until they went.So I do understand how the loss feels.I kept seeing them at the window or the top of the stairs They obviously weren’t there but their presence very much was.We live in London 10 million people have been vaccinated now I’m waiting for my letter my partner’s been done as he’s older than me .Take good care and keep well and positive x

Jana Snowdon: Love the style!!!

Diana McCullough: First of all I want to say how sorry I am for the loss of your fur baby. I know your pain, I had my precious little Yorkie Sophie for over 11 years. But she got so she couldn't walk. It was like she was paralyzed. So the Vet put her to sleep. That has been 1and half years ago. And I still miss her so much. I just wanted to let you know I know your pain. Your hair is so pretty. Thank you for sharing. ♡♡

Connie H.: So sorry about your pup❣.... I remember those types of heat rollers from the 70-80's...their vintage

Lorrae Emory: Sorry for your loss.. my family is working through the loss, our 17 yr old Jack Russell girl. I would Love to see you try Pacifica products. I just recently have tried and so far love them. They are a great price on Amazon, but what I really like is they contain NO phalates, parabens, SLS or mineral oil. 100% vegan and made in USA. I am allergic to so many products on the market and am so excited to have found this line.

Jane Fleet: Sad to hear about your dog, it's amazing how attached we get.

JANE LIFRAK: So sorry for your loss. It’s very tough. We experienced our loss of a beautiful labradoodle who was with us for 14 years. It takes time but we waited a year and adopted a rescue dog and are in love with our new addition. She brings us much joy. Your family will heal. Adorable hair style. Thanks

tove [email protected]: My husband and I over the 35 years have had two dogs. One Lived to be 16 years old and just died of old age. Our second dog Only live to 10 years old. She had cancer of the bladder. It was hard both times. They are like family. They have their own personalities. I waited five years since our last dog passed away and two years ago we got another dog. This time it was a rescue dog. We love them with all our hearts. Hang in there and hugs to you

Kim Ghoss: PS desperate to see the hairdresser your hair always looks fabulous x

Jana Snowdon: Here in Ontario Canada, we are in a second lockdown, suppose to end on the 11th, but it's still up in the air.

Stacy L: I’m so sorry for the loss of your sweet pixel girl.

Erica Umney: Sorry to hear that you lost your little dog, but am glad she isn't suffering any more. Here in England we have been in lockdown since just after Christmas because we have a new variant of covid which has spread much more quickly than the original variant. Our hospitals have been under so much pressure and we have now sadly had over 115000 covid deaths in the UK which is one of the highest death tolls worldwide. Challenging times, but the lockdown and our vaccine programme are now bringing case numbers down. Stay safe!

louise mazan: As soon as you said you had a bad week - I knew it was Pixel. I am so sad for you. I am more of a cat person but we did have a dog a long time ago (bigger dog) she lived to about 14yrs. A few yrs. ago we had 4 cats in the house. They were all rescue cats.It was 3 but when my son came back home to live with us it made it 4 by bringing his cat (Talia). I had 2 of them go within a year of one another Phantom and Sammy living to be quite old. Mandy was the 3rd cat and she was my cat. She was 17 years old and she really was my cat and I still miss her and it was 8/2019 when she passed. But now we have 1 cat left that really is my son's cat but she has accepted us very much. Beautiful cat. If I do not see her for awhile I go looking for her. My cats were all inside cats (loved the screened -in porch though). Do not know when or if I get another cat. Right now we give all of our attention to Talia. It is a family member and we grieve for them like anyone. I cry at a drop of a hat.. Loved your hair and loved that Green top you had on -just Beautiful.
