Hi guys welcome back to my channel, so i wanted to do a quick video for you guys, because i get a lot of questions about what i do to my hair um i used to have long hair. I cut it um. I think i have a couple of pictures. I may insert some if i can find them in time um. But if you know me personally, you already know but um. I decided one day that i wanted to cut it and while it was a huge transition for me, it's something that i am extremely glad that i did because i'm really enjoying my hair. So i wanted to show you guys, the items and the techniques that i use to keep my hair up. If you guys are new here, i would love for you to subscribe, join our little community if you are a returning viewer. Thank you. So much for coming back, i'm so glad you are enjoying the content now, if you guys are ready to see the items and things that i use to keep my hair keep watching. So i don't use a lot of things on my hair because i don't actually do my hair. I go to a hair stylist, but i do have to maintenance and keep up my hair because i go to the hair salon once every two weeks, most people when they have short hair. They go to the salon every week. I don't have time for that. So i go every two weeks and i just maintain it on my off week now um. I think it's about two or three items that i am missing because i ran out and stupidly threw the bottles out. But when i re purchase, um i'll show you guys and maybe i'll do a video one day on my nighttime routine. Exactly what i do and on my days where i have to maybe wash my hair, which is rare because i usually just you know, leave it like this now mind you my hair right now, i am in by the time you guys see this video. It will be sunday, so today is wednesday, so this is the middle of the second week. I go to the hairdresser every monday, so this is a week and a half old hair. So the first thing i would suggest you have is of course a brush. I don't use a hard brush because my hair is short: i'm not trying to have my scalp bleeding, so i use a soft brush. I don't brush my whole head. I brush my sideburns and i brush gently the back of my hair. I brush my sideburns because sometimes when you sleep depends on how you sleep, if you sleep, while your sideburns may move lift up, so i gently just take my brush in the morning and just go over my sideburns if need be, but a brush is really important When you have short hair tame the flyaways and things like that, i try not to put anything in my hair on my first week because i usually don't have to now when you don't have a relaxer and things in your hair, depending on your hair texture. A lot of people that have short hair have to get relaxers. My hair tends when it gets old to swell. So if you ever seen my video and it's like this side is higher it's nine times out of ten, my hair is old, so it starts to swell up. So one thing that i use to combat that is dry, shampoo, um or ebay has an excellent dry. Shampoo, but the dry shampoo that i usually use is from whey. I will link everything in the description box, so you guys can pick it up um. I only have to use it like. I said on my off week when my hair starts to lift up. I ran out of it, so i have to. This is something i should have picked up during the sephora cell, not thinking i ran out of it, so i have to repurchase it. But whey has an excellent dry shampoo to combat the oil and the greasiness and to keep your hair from puffing up. So, as you can see, it's not lifted as high as it usually is, because i use the dry shampoo in my hair, but also when your hair gets dry. There are two things that i usually use on my off week. It is the silk therapy, bio, silk oil or the cheese silk infusion. Now by yourself, if you're, a black girl in the hood, you already know about bio silk. This is a classic. She to me is something within the last, maybe 10 years or so that just started gaining because i've never heard of chi when i was a kid, but this is really good, really lightweight, i'm not sure if you guys know, but i have a barber license um. I used to do hair. I was working in a hair salon about maybe eight years, so this is so good on long hair as well. You put this on wet hair, not a lot like. Maybe a quarter size amount run it through blow dry it. It'S so silky on the hair, and once you put heat to it, it's beautiful, so i would highly recommend the silk infusion, just put a dime sized amount in and just run your fingers through your hair. Like i said, i don't brush my hair and i don't. I try not to put a lot of stuff in it, but the oil helps tame fly aways and it helps your hair lay down on your off week. Now, for the days that i have to wash my hair like say, if i've sweated a lot or um, i slept crazy and messed it up. The one thing that i use for laying my hair down - i try not to like, i said, wash my hair. I do use the brioche, oh hair, shampoo and conditioner. I will link it um in the description box. I apologize if i'm saying it wrong, so black owned brand. This brand is amazing on shampoos and conditioners um. The don't despair hair mask i've used before um. Like i said, i don't wash my hair a lot, but when i do i love to use this and also on the ori bay hair mask. I will link that as well, because i've used that and it was excellent. But when i'm finished washing and conditioning my hair um, i lay it down with nairobi setting lotion. This is a excellent setting lotion. I used to use paul mitchell setting lotion this one. I feel as though it's better again. This is a black on brand, so we're gon na rock, with this anytime and your hair. While it holds it's not like rock hard, you ever like use a setting spray, and it's like your hair is crunchy and all you don't have to worry about that with the nairobi. It is excellent also once a month if you can find them. I'Ve had this for a while, and we used to use this in the hair salon that i worked at. This is a clear rinse. I'M not sure if you guys are familiar with rinses, but they are an alternative to colored rinses and they culture his your hair strand and they condition your hair. I use the professional sebastian cellophanes, i'm not sure if they still sell this. If i can find it, i will link it in the description box, so you guys can order it. You, i use this once a month. There'S no color, you put it on your hair. Uh roots are in just like a rinse sit under the dryer or not sit under the dryer. Make sure you use a plastic cap, it coats your strand, it gives the most beautiful shine. You can feel the strength and your strand from it being coated. It'S just an extra layer of moisture and protection on your hair strand, and you only have to use it once a month, but i highly recommend clear rinses. They are it's a lost art using clear rinse. It'S like nobody talks about it anymore, but they are so good, especially if, even if you have short hair long hair clearances is the way to go. So if you're going to use combs on your hair, i personally recommend fingers. I use fingers for everything. Even when i'm wrapping my client's hair. I use my fingers. I don't use brushes any of that stuff. If you're going to use a comb, i recommend bone combs, these combs minimize breakage. They don't scratch and and tear your scalp up. They last for a long time. They stand up to heat. If you have to get combs, i believe they have that they sell them at the regular hair store. I get mine from the store that the uh stylist, if you have a license, go to, but i believe now they have bone combs in the hair, store the regular hair store. I don't like the combs with the metal tip and the the black plastic they're breaking the hair, they're the they don't stand up the heat. I highly recommend bone combs on your hair. They are excellent. So the last thing i do is when i go to bed. Um, i do not use a scarf on my hair i used to. When i had long hair. I would wrap it up and wrap my scarf around it. Even when my hair wasn't done, i would wrap a scarf around it, but now i use a silker satin pillowcase and i wrap my hair with this. This is a mesh headrest that has what is these things called the little sticky pulleys on there. Now they come in a variety of styles and colors. They have uh the foam one which i like, but i don't like for me um ever since i cut my hair, it's like i sweat in my sleep. I don't know what that's about, but i sweat in my sleep now sorry, i sweat in my sleep now and i cannot wear something that thick on my hair, because when i wake up, my hair will be soaked. What i like about this is it's thin and it has all these little holes in it so that your hair can breathe. So when i'm going to bed at night, i don't do anything to it. I don't put any grease or oil in it, like i said until it's like extremely dry on my off week, but i take this. I wrap it towards the bottom make sure your sideburns is in because, like i said, your sideburns can be all over the place in the morning, make sure my ears are covered. It doesn't matter if it's down towards your eye, it's not going to hurt anything and make sure your hair, and this is how i go to sleep. I don't usually have it this tight, because i don't want to smash so i loosen it up. So this is how i go to sleep at night. Sleep like this, like this, like i got my hair stuck between the pillow. I'M sleep like this: it's such a hassle when you have short hair, but ever since i discovered this wrap in a silky satin pillowcase, i still kind of sleep like on my arm or my hands but like not is like lifted up because i was getting neck. Cramps, but this helps maintain my curl. This helps like, if i happen to sweat in my sleep, my hair is still getting air through the mesh so that my hair is not flat to my head puffy soaking wet. These are the best thing to ever happen to a kid. These are excellent. It helps maintain my hair, like i said, my hair is a week and a half old and i go to the hairdresser on monday. So i can go the rest of the week and i'm fine there's no need for me to go to the hairdresser every week, because i have mastered how to maintain my hair. So everything that i use um, i will make sure i link down in the description box and i want to say something, and this is not to exclude anybody, but i'm a black girl. So you know we have a different set of problems. This is not to exclude anyone, but we do not have white hair. Sorry we're just going to call a thing, a thing. We have to stop every day, curling pressing bumping, whatever y'all are calling it these days like we cannot. I don't put any heat on my hair until i get to the hairdresser only time there's heat in my hair is like i said if i have to wash it i'm sitting under the dryer, with the uh nairobi and the wrapping papers. Other than that i do not put heat in my hair, that's what the wrap is for. That was that's what the brush is for. If you have flyaways put a little bit of the uh chi oil or the biosilk oil in your hair, put it in your hands, rub it through rub it down, you know, take the top of the brush if you must put the brush to your hair just Lightly like hold down the flyaways, please guys, please stop putting heat on your hair every day. Every other day the leave out at the top is breaking our hair off. We cannot put excessive heat in our hair, so that's it for the things that i use to maintain my pixie cut. I hope you guys enjoyed the video if you guys have any tips anything you do to maintain your hair, please. I would love to hear from you in the comments i love chit chatting with you guys in the comments. Um again, i love you guys. As always, i cannot wait to see you in the next video bye.

Aja Walker: Hope you enjoy these tips guys! xoxo

Magaly Wilson: This was so good Aja!! A lot of what you do, is what I do with my pixie cuts too! I use my fingers to style my hair, and only brush the edges and the lower back. I love short pixie cuts because they don’t require much heat in my hair. I only use a leave in conditioner and a good styling texture molding paste! I just purchased a brand called Aspen and it’s really good! Smells great and styles really well, without leaving any stiffness or flakes. I also use CHI as well to style. I’ve always loved CHI. I’ll have to try the rinse you mentioned! I’ve never tried it.

Nis§: The pixie cut looks great on you. I recently cut my hair short and I am loving it. I will definitely purchase the Sabastian because I was recently introduced to clear rinse and I purchased the Adore and it does make a difference in the overall shine of your hair. Bone comb‍✔️Is on the list.

Keron Hopkins: Excellent video and great recommendations and suggestions. What about the clear rinse on graying hair? Does it cover, enhance, etc. I definitely plan to try it. I never heard of it.

Alyssa Francois: I’m getting this clear rinse ASAP! Thank you for sharing these products!!

primebeautie: Thanks for this video
