Hey y'all welcome back to the vlog, as you can tell by the title of this video girl, we getting a perv today, relaxer whatever you call it, that's what i'm doing today so we're just going to walk through step by step. How i got this hairstyle and then i'll tell y'all why i got this hairstyle, so the first thing that she did before she started applying the relaxer itself. By the way the brand of relaxer she's using is a firm um. It'S the no lie. Relaxer. I don't like relaxers with lie in it. They really damage your hair and i have a very sensitive scalp and a firm is perfect for that. So there's that anywho, so first before she started applying the relaxer she put on a base on my scalp. It'S basically like petroleum jelly. Some people use vaseline it. Basically, you know coats and protects the scalp, your edges, your forehead um, the back of your head as well from the chemical, because, of course it's a really strong chemical, so they kind of like lubricate your scalp before the chemical goes on. Now, what you see is her applying the relaxer she's and, let me just say, i'm not a hair expert, i'm not a hair stylist. I am not a licensed hair, stylist or beautician or whatever the case is. I just have gotten perms a lot and i watch a lot of youtube videos. So as i'm watching this back, i'm now realizing what she was doing and, of course it makes perfect sense so because it was what they call a virgin relaxer. It was on my natural 4c hair um she didn't put on my edges or on the root. First, she applied it to the shaft of my hair, which is basically the center part after you know my scalp of the hair, so that you know it could take and so that my texture would start to loosen and then you're going to see her like go Through and like start applying it to my edges and smoothing it out, working it through my hair, using her body, heat and mine, of course, to make sure that the product takes to my hair so that it doesn't have to sit on forever, which i actually really Appreciate because we all know, relaxers can burn, and sometimes you know when you want your hair super straight. You just sit there in pain, but i wasn't in pain for too long because she really took her time to smooth the relaxer through my hair, while she was applying it so that i really didn't have to sit at all um after she finished. You know applying it to my hair and making sure it was evenly distributed through every strand. To be completely honest, the reason why i got a relaxer is because i felt like it. I had an itch a couple of months ago to get a relaxer around the fall fall is literally right around the corner, so i knew i wanted to get my relaxer and i know i wanted to get it far enough in advance so that by the time My brother's wedding came around. I could like remember and refresh my memory about how to take care of my relaxed hair and honestly before my brother decided to get married. I knew i wanted to get a relaxer, so the timing literally worked out perfectly and honestly. I wanted to like. I don't understand why people expect you to deprive yourself of something, because you know there should be an extravagant reason. No, i am the reason and the occasion y'all i just have to tell you. I absolutely love getting my hair washed by someone else. I very rarely get my hair washed by other people and i'm, like both of my. I have two of my girlfriends who do hair, but they don't, you know, wash hair. So i haven't gotten my hair washed in a really long time, so it just felt so good to you know, be pampered and have someone else worry about my hair besides me, so this step in the process is what they call a treatment or conditioning treatment. Some people call it basically what she's doing is applying this conditioning treatment to restore and revive my hair, because the relaxer, of course stripped my hair, so we're just adding this conditioning treatment to give the hair its life, its body and its shine back. And then i'm going to go under the dryer for about 30 15 to 30 minutes to make sure that the conditioning treatment gets to do what it does. So this part is basically me trying to explain to her that i think i kind of want something to this to the side. As long as it looks nice, you know whatever the case is, and she was like girl. You don't have to worry about that. I got you so i proceeded to shut up and let her do her thing and, as you can tell when you see the finished result, it paid off. So what she's doing now, she's using that nairobi wrapping foaming lotion to basically she's going to put my hair in finger waves in order to go under the dryer? To give my hair, you know some body some bounce and then, when i get out from under the dryer she's going to curl it one of my favorite things about having a shortcut when you have a relaxer is that i don't need to like go in rollers Or like be under the dryer for two hours, um, because my hair is short, it doesn't take forever to dry and i don't have to put rollers in my head and i actually love the way. Um. My relaxed hair looks when it's molded and then, when i come out of the dryer she like flat, irons or curls it. I think it's really really pretty that way, as opposed to like the classic kind of like roller set style. Also, please excuse the angles in this video. I look like an oompa loompa in most of this video, because the like angles that i was getting for the video just were not my. This is just this whole video is on my bad side and i just look really crazy. My whole double chin is poking out because i got the cape on it's a lot going on, but just know i'm about to turn into a baddie in a second okay. Okay, just have to put that disclaimer out all there. You do it's only right. It'S what i deserve. Love tell me what you've done for me now for me, so what she's doing now is just cleaning up the back of my head a little bit. I don't remember if i showed y'all, but when i have box braids i had an undercut so um. There was a little bit of like residue left from that in the back of my head. You can still kind of see the last design that i got for my undercut one of these days. I might like go back to the barber to have him like just fade me up in the back to make it super clean, but i don't feel like doing all that right now, so what she's doing now is just going in with the flat iron curling up. My hair, giving it some life giving it some bounce, so i'm gon na go ahead, play some music and let y'all continue to enjoy the process. I know that life can be busy. Tell me tell me, can you take me so at this point i was just asking her. What i really should have asked her was how to wrap my hair at night or how to maintain my hair at night, but i was asking her how to keep my scalp moisturized and she was basically saying that i can use a hair polish serum rub it In my hands - and just you know, pass it throughout my hair without like messing up my curls and then i could put a little bit of hair oil directly on my scalp, because of course we all know when you have straight hair, your hair can get like Super oily, but it's also you know going into the colder months, so i just wanted to know, and i ended up buying her hair oil. I honestly really don't know why i bought it because i definitely just bought a new hair bottle of hair oil that i have at home. But here we are. I want to support herself who is yeah? Who is she it's kind of lifting up? Because it's super windy right now, my pixie is back. My hair is actually like longer than it appears cause. My hair is really curly right now she curled it a lot, as you all saw so my hair is actually longer than it appears. I was telling her like: should i ever get married, i would do a short cut like i feel like getting a shortcut not that tree. You see how low that tree came but yeah i um like if i ever get married. I would um don't mind me. Not having a mass going, i'm not around people, that's right across the street, because there's people coming up but yeah should i ever get married. I would do something like this or like a shorter hair. Look because that's sometimes when i feel the most myself, although you all know, i love some bun, but don't get me wrong, but like for my wedding, i see myself doing something like short and cute. I always saw that for myself. I'M hoping my hair grows out by november to be like a bomb like bob link like a little. Even it's like a little mini bob, though, if it doesn't honestly but yeah. I hope watching me do something that really made me happy. Encourages you to do the same, whether that's a new hairstyle or, if you're like me and you're, saving up for a new place or whatever it is go for it grind, pray, make a plan, and just do it, love you and while you're at it be sure To like comment and subscribe love, you bye
