Hello there welcome back to my channel today i have a fun video for you at least. I think you're gon na have fun and you're probably going to do a lot of laughing at my expense, but that's okay, i'm gon na be taking you through the journey that my hair has been on. Since i was a little girl till now. I get a lot of questions about what my hair looked like or how long it was before i had a pixie cut. Many of you want to know if i ever had dark, hair or platinum blonde, hair or whatever, so i thought it would be fun to go back through a bunch of my photo albums and piece together a little hair journey for you now. I did something similar to this on my blog, maybe about 10 years ago or so, but i know many of you have probably not seen that and i went through and found some additional photos that i think will be fun. So if you're new here hit that subscribe button and now, let's get started so as early as i can remember, i loved having curls in my hair and when i was really little young. I had blonde hair pretty bright blonde hair naturally, and my mom would usually curl my hair. Typically, i slept on rollers at night and i started off with no bangs. You know how that goes and then, as i got a little bit older, i started realizing that, oh, if you braided your hair, you could create these kind of waves or slept on rollers. You could get more curls, so i did that for a number of years and then it was around. I think fifth grade, or so i got my first perm. Oh yes, yes, we say that word and we all go oh right, but it was the thing right and with long hair, because my hair was growing longer and i really wanted long long hair. But with long hair it would weigh out the curl. So any curl that i would put in by the end of the day it would be you know almost straight, so a perm definitely helped with that. So when i got this first perm, i would still then curl my hair at night, sleep on rollers, but the curls you know were really kinky. I started with bangs, i think, around fourth fifth grade and then i think it was about sixth grade. I noticed some of the older girls were doing this hairstyle and this hairstyle had the bangs that started here and went in a v to the crown of the head. Do you all remember that style and then the rest of it was long yeah? I did that it was not a good look, but you know i thought it was cool because i was like the high school girls, so i kept that style for about a year, then i started growing out the back portion of bangs and kind of did a Little softer look and then the really big hair of the late 80s really came in and early 90s and whoa. Did i embrace that um these next couple pictures you will see my perms got frizzier and my bangs got bigger. Oh, my goodness, but i thought i was pretty cool. We would be in the bathroom after class. You know spraying on more aqua net hairspray to really make sure those bangs stay put wow then. Thankfully, i kind of dialed back. I was still getting perms, but i had my mom use larger rollers, so she was my beautician for all this time. She would trim my hair. She gave me all my perms and she would do piggyback, so it was two rollers per strand. My hair was getting longer, but i was liking more of that looser curled. Look then around my senior year it was still curls, but it was big, big hair. So i still wanted that volume still kind of had a little height in the bangs and then towards the end of my senior year. I decided i wanted to chop off my hair. I wanted to do something drastic, the end of my senior year, and so i chopped off my hair at shoulder length kind of did the bob thing and it was pretty much just one length with bangs and i enjoyed that look. I thought you know. I was pretty grown up, but then decided kind of through the next couple years. I would have these times where i would grow it out, cut it off growing up, so i did start growing it out and it started growing longer and faster than it ever had, and so my hair got down to basically my waist. I did have lots of layers put in and i do think i was still maybe getting a loose perm for a little bit just to help hold curl. But i was using hot rollers or still sleeping on those big old, pink rollers. So and then i was noticing, because i wasn't spending as much time outside that my hair stopped getting that bright blonde that it used to be so. I thought i'm going to take matters into my own hands and i'm going to dye my hair blonde. Well, as we all know now the dark, hair and you put blonde over it, you know it usually turns a nice shade of like orange strawberry blonde. Maybe is what we'll call it so i did end up having to go to a beautician to have her kind of tone it down just a little and then a couple months later had a terrible heartbreak. You know and decided. Okay, i'm gon na just drastically change. My hair and so over christmas break, i dyed my hair again yep. I decided to try it again. I went dark and this was pretty close to what my natural color was at that time, but i went all dark and people were like who are you because it was so drastically different. But again my hair was super long. All the way down to my waist and i did enjoy curling it and putting it up often i would do twists and braids and lots of different things, so i was always doing that, but i started just feeling like you know what i want another drastic change. So i decided to chop off my hair again, but i went kind of just a little below my shoulder long layers and i was always in this quandary of what to do with my bangs. A lot of my friends. Kind of went with the no bang look, but i never really loved that look on myself. Well, once you cut off your hair, you know you kind of get braver and you're like you know what i think, i'm going to go a little shorter, i'm going to go a little shorter, so i did end up going above my shoulders and i actually really Liked this style, i did, however, still have to straighten it out with a large curling iron. Now this was before we had really good flat irons, so i was using those huge curling irons, just to kind of help straighten out my hair, and then i met my husband when my hair was around that length and i started growing it out a little bit Longer because i knew i wanted to do kind of an updo for my wedding, so i started growing it out and my mother-in-law. Let me know that she thought that you know men always wanted women with longer hair, and so i kind of thought. Oh, she must know that her son wants longer hair, and so i kind of started growing my hair out just a little bit. I thought well we'll add a little length to it. So i let it grow, kept the layers, and then we moved to southern california and my first summer here it was so hot. I remember a few days over 110 and i thought i'm just wearing my hair up in a ponytail all the time and it had gotten pretty long by then. So i thought the next time we go back to denver, because that was where my hair stylist, who was my cousin. She was my stylist at the time and she was the only one. I would trust to do these drastic cuts. So i thought: okay next time we're in denver i'll, have her chop, my hair off and so the initial time i had her chop it off. I went like right below my jawline and my husband wasn't like a super big fan of this cut. I thought it was kind of fun. It was a little flippy, but it wasn't quite right. It was either too short or too long. You know i couldn't really pull up the sides very well, because i had all these layers come out. So we kind of started growing it out again a little bit and then the next year, when we were in denver, i really got the itch to really go short. I had always loved meg, ryan's, hair and you've got mail and my best friend had two, and so she was kind of wanting a little bit of a change too, and so she said i'll go with you i'll get my hair cut short. If you do it. So we found this picture in a magazine and decided to go to my cousin and have her give us this haircut and i was quite shocked. I was really scared at first because i had never had this part of my hair. That short. So initially i wasn't quite sure how i felt about it and also i kept kind of going more with my darker hair color, and then i decided i kind of wanted a little bit of some highlights in there and then i found my current hairstylist and she Really helped me kind of tweak the style and i went a little shorter, more layered. This was around the time when i started my youtube channel, and many of you were drawn to my hair back then, because it was different kind of edgy and spiky and i really enjoyed that cut now. Once i went to this shorter style i for quite a long time kind of kept the styling pretty much the same, because it was so quick and easy. I would style it the same and go well then i started going, you know, let's see if we can do some different styles with the short hair, and so i started flipping my hair over to the other side, and i was like oh that gives it like A whole new look and then i started having a little more fun. I even did a video of 28 days of different styles with my hair when it was in the longer style, and that really inspired me to continue styling my hair in different ways, even though it was short, there's still a lot of versatility that you can do With styling, so then, after a number of years with that style - and so many of you saying really try this shirley try this, i decided because i had been wearing my hair kind of tucked behind my ears so much and i was enjoying having that back kind Of a little bit flatter more often, i thought you know if i shaved the sides, it wouldn't be that different than me wearing it tucked behind my ears right so my stylist being such a wonderful patient stylist that she is. She helped me through this process. So the first step to getting to this cut, i did was i had her shave the sides. I did not have her shave any of this in the back. She just did the sides and i did a video of it, and i took a screenshot of my face when she pulled out the clippers and it is priceless. I mean i was scared to death and i'm like it's just hair. You know, but i was clinging really tightly to my hair, but let her cut the sides and by the next time i thought you know what i think, i'm ready to cut the back, and so i remember the first time i think i had her shave. Maybe about this portion she did maybe a number four clippers, so it was not as short as what i have now, and i remember that night going out to walk my dog and i felt the cold air on my neck and thought. What have i done? Oh my word: i've got ta, grow it out and then about a week went by and i started getting a lot of compliments from people that i've never heard from before or at the gym. They'Re like. Oh, that's really cool, it looks awesome and i'm like all right. I think i can do this so from there. My style just continued to evolve and my stylist is one that loves a challenge. She loves to change things up, so i am frequently sitting in her chair with multiple pictures from pinterest saying: hey what, if we change this up, what if we do that, so some of you might have noticed even from the front view that my style is a Slightly shorter looks a little different today and that's because i did have her change it up slightly, but i did have her go even shorter down here, so she did kind of a two here and then almost basically like a one around the edge. And then i also had her bring up the edge slightly because i was like you know. Why am i clinging to hair here? Because you can't see it from the front anyway around the edge here. She also did a two, so it's a little bit shorter. So, as i was looking back through my journey, i from long hair to short, it's been fun, it's been fun to look at the journey. It'S been fun to get back in my frame of thinking back in those days when i was considering each hairstyle change like what was going through my brain, but i just hope that this video inspires some of you who maybe who have been hesitant to go with Short hair, maybe you've had long hair, your whole life and, ironically, once i went even to my longer pixie style. My husband has not wanted me to grow it out. I offer every couple of years. I'M like do you want me to grow my hair out, he's like no, so i think because it's easy to style, and it's just different than many styles out there today now something else you may have picked up on seeing some of my earlier pictures is something That many of you have said to me you've said: oh, i have a fuller face. I can't do short hair well, as you were looking back through many of my pictures, especially when i had longer hair. I had really full cheeks for most of my life and i still do and thank the lord for things like contouring right, because that really does make a difference. But i hope that you've seen through the pictures that, oddly enough, my short hair, because it creates all these different angles i feel like that - helps break up around face when i had long hair and i wore it up, it was kind of like all you saw Was face with a little bangs and there wasn't a lot of interest there weren't a lot of ways to add angles. So for those of you, who've thought that you can't pull off short hair because you have a round face or a fuller face. Hopefully, today's video will show you that you can indeed pull this off, so i hope that this video was fun for you and inspiring. If any of you have been hesitant to take the plunge and do something drastic. I hope that this video gives you inspiration to do that. After all, it's just hair. If you dye it, you can always dye it again. If it's too short, you can always grow it out, but at least you'll say you tried and had some fun while doing it right. Thank you so much for watching. I hope you enjoyed this video i'll, see you next time. Bye!

Lisa Pierce: Sharalee this was so much fun! Thank you for sharing your photos. You’re so beautiful with long and short hair. You’re around my daughters age and I remember the perms she had and I did a few over the years myself. But those three inch high bangs, yeah I did that with her. Oh gracious. Thanks for the memories that accompanied watching this. Much love and God bless! PS I read about your precious Bojo in a couple comments. I didn’t know and I’m so very sorry for your loss. Prayers

Sandra Danforth: Just had my hair cut, at 83, in an undercut pixie. My husband asked me if I intended it to be this short- told him I did. That was the end of the discussion. Thank you for the inspiration!

vergie clark: My favorite look is the one you have now ! Beautiful lady !

doris cripps: Love, love this video!! I am now 67. I've had every hair style imaginable. Experimented at home, with many mistakes along the way...including the infamous orange. My hair dresser tagged me Bottle Baby she had to correct many mistakes with my attempt to color at home. I finally caught on, never color at home!! I have been color free since 2020 (mainly because of Covid lockdown.) I am trying to get use to gray mixed with 2 other unidentifiable colors. I go for a haircut this week, you have given me the push to make a big change!! Sharalee you would be beautiful with a buzz cut!!! You make me wish I had a daughter. I have sons, grandsons and 2 baby great grandsons. My husband likes my hair short. I can't wait to show my hairdresser your cut. You are just the sweetest most beautiful person, I enjoy every second of your videos❣

Carol Ann: I loved this ❣️ Thank you, for sharing it. My hair has evolved almost along the same hair journey... super long and light blonde as a kid, pink sponges rollers and sitting with a Bonnet hair dryer...then darker and shorter as I got older, hot rollers, curling irons, perms, 80's big hair! I have a memory when my hair was soooo long as a kid my parents didn't know how to wash it lol.... so, they balanced a Red Flyer snow sled across two set tubs in the basement so my long hair would hang over the edge of the sled so they were able to successfully wash and rinse my long locks! lol I suddenly can smell Breck shampoo in my memories. ❣️

Bonnie Houston: This was so fun to watch! Those pics were adorable Thank you for sharing the big hair from the 80's! You're a doll!

Leanne Crawford: This is a walk down memory lane! We had many of the same styles.

Home with Kelly P: Hi Sharalee! This was a blast and got me thinking to my hair journey through the years and I remember having similar styles to you as well as the perms - LOL! It is so funny how attached we are to our hair and afraid to make those changes even though hair grows!! Loved this walk down memory lane and you looked adorable at every stage!

sonya smith: Loved the video, Sharalee. You have the best hair. You did convince me to cut mine short. I wore it in the longer flip in the back style for years and years. A week ago, I went pixie and I love it. It’s so easy to deal with. Thanks for the inspiration. Love your channel, too.

Jacalyn Tweedie: In the fall of 2019 I started growing my hair out to my natural color which worked out great when everything shut down. My niece is my hairdresser and she said it was going to make me look old. I had a picture of your pixie from back then and that's what I got. Now she tells me every time I go in that she was wrong and I look younger. I've gotten more compliments on your style than any other style ever. I love the undercut now. Going back next week to get it freshened up. Thank you for helping me to look younger!

Sydney Landreneau: How fun it is looking back at the hairstyles we had. I remember thinking, looking at mine, or dear what got into you! I just love your hair through all the phases! Always beautiful ❤️

stormet54: Your hairstyle is so pretty. I'm almost 8 months into transitioning to grey hair. In my fervent desire to remove all the brown hair, I've gone from a shoulder-length bob to what I now consider a pixie. I couldn't resist and cut off another inch today. I am loving the shorter hair. It is so much easier to take care of. I now have only a touch of brown on the very ends.

Michael Hansen: What a fun video! And you just get more lovely with passing year.

Melanie Wright: Ha!!!!! Our hair journey is soooo similar! But we are close to the same age so it makes sense!!! This was an awesome video! I loved doing that late 80’s big hair. I did everything I could to look like the high school girls!! And my momma did my perms too as did my grandma. And we still laugh thinking about Gram saying “it takes pain to be beautiful!” As she wound those rods tighter than imaginable lol.

Crystal J: Love this video! I just got my haircut. I told my stylist about you. She used the clippers. I have fine thin hair. It's a bit short in the back and you can see scalp towards the bottom. But like you said. It's just hair. A learning experience. I love my stylist. We are learning together! You are a bright spot in my day! God Bless and Happy Resurrection Sunday.

Sharron Wolfe: This was really fun! You have gone through a lot of changes with your hair! But I do love the style you have now. It’s beautiful and fits your personality so well. I was one of those who wanted to go to a pixie but was afraid to do so because of my round face. And you were so right — now that I’ve gone shorter, I won’t go back! It’s so easy! I love it! Thanks for another wonderful video! And I pray you have a very blessed Easter Sunday! May our Lord fill your hearts with the joy of His resurrection and the hope of His coming again! In a world that’s gone crazy, we have this precious hope! Praise Him!!!

Deborah Parsons: That was so fun Sharalee! I love the hair styles you had and yes I had the big hair too . But through all your hair tutorials you gave me the courage to get a pixie cut and I love it!! Thank you!!

Sharilyn Barter: That was really amazing, thank you for sharing! I too had different lengths of hair and I love my short hair! I’ve had people say that they normally prefer long hair, but love the sassy look. Trying to find a new hairdresser! Love what you do! You’re inspiring! Thank you!

BurghBrat33: The only thing you need to wear short hair is the confidence that you can. Mine has been short with no apologies for years. I love it. If someone else doesn't, it's their problem, not mine.

potatoluver63: What an awesome video, Sharalee! Thank you so much for sharing your hair journey with us! I went back to a pixie cut a little over a year ago. My first experiences were in the early 1990s. I was inspired by Demi Moore's cut in "Ghost" and Lorrie Morgan back then. And (you'll laugh) but I actually maintained it for a number of years with a Flowbee! I've used that device on my husband on occasion, and I started using it again since my initial cut by a professional last year. I find that I use it once a month to trim a half inch, and then treat myself to a professional cut twice a year. I haven't gotten an undercut pixie yet (I'm not quite brave enough, nor do I have your lovely jawline or long neck) but I do love being able to maintain it on my own. My husband prefers this cut over my bob and shag styles, and I get compliments, too. In fact just today I was at a store where the cashier said how much she was enjoying the different short hairstyles from customers. She had a short cut, too. I said "Pixie chicks unite!" haha

E Clark: Oh my goodness!! That was awesome! I remember so many of those hairstyles and you are beautiful in every single one!! Love this!!

Julie Ligon: Such fun! You made me think back over my hair journey... with bangs, without bangs, perm, no perm, very long & basically any length between... hair long enough I could sit on it, to a pixie. I haven't gone to the undercut yet, but I think my time is about here! Thanks for doing this for your viewers! It was a great video!!!

JLE: Wow! A time machine of Hair! I went through many similar styles (spiral perm anyone lol). I have very short hair now too and you're correct, I too, have a full face and the short hair draws attention away from that, not to it. I don't miss long hair at all!

Shimmering Chimps: Thanks so much for the fun photos, Sharalee! I've also had nearly every hairstyle and color imaginable, and I'm on my third pixie right now, lol. Love your channel!

Rhonda Martinez: Your spiky hairstyle is what drew me to your channel. This was so much fun watching your style evolve into that style and up to your current style which is now my favorite. Thank you for all you do!

Thomas Hendrickson: Short hair is definitely your best look ✂️. I think you saved the best for last. Thanks for the trip down memory lane .

L AM: WOW, if this wasn't everything I went thru, we could have been twins. I had longer hair not as long as you did, but had it and it was an ugly mousy brown, it wasnt until I went to Cosmetology school for 4 years in high school that I began playing around with hair cuts and color, going shorter and shorter, until I landed on the "Dorothy Hamil Cut", and then went to the pixie and got high lights, which led into platinum blonde for many, many years. Im about 10 years older then you, now at 58, I'm right where you are, short pixie with highlights and have had this look now for over 10 years and will never change it. I love it so much, so easy and everyone else loves it too, its become my signature cut and color. Oh almost forgot, about 5 years ago, I decided to go back to brown, just for a change and what a mistake, it looked good on me, brought out my blue eyes, but I wanted my blonde back....so today I am short pixie with blonde highlights, sometimes when it is growing I give myself bangs, until the next haircut and tomorrow I am actually going to get a trim and touch up on the regrowth with highlights. I love watching you! Your a delight!!!! love all your makeup tips, I love makeup too!

Julie S L: I had fun watching this video.. It also made me think of the time i had long and curly hair..Now at age 45 i still prefer my pixie cut and will keep it for a long time. I always enjoy watching your hair tutorials. I’m so sorry to hear of Bojo’s passing.

Jeanette Easley: I THOROUGHLY enjoyed this!!! It made me think back of my “hair journey”. When I was young and my mother was the one who made the decisions on how my hair was going to be styled, I always had bangs and I hated it! I remember her taking me to her beautician (not stylist) and I quietly whispered to Joni (her beautician) that I didn’t want bangs anymore. We’ll, she cut my hair and turned me to the mirror and I was so upset. I had tears in my eyes and was chocking back a full fledged cry and told her again, “I don’t want bangs anymore” and motioned for her to cut them off. After she quit laughing, she explained to me that they had to grow out and that you don’t just cut them off. Just like you I went from short, to long, to shoulder length, etc. I guess the most drastic change for me was from bum length to a pixie. Now I want my hair to look like yours. So far, it has been about a two year journey (at least) and I still don’t have the right cut! I’m beginning to think I need to get on an plane and fly across the United States! LOL Thanks so the opportunity to reminisce!

Christine Atlee: What a great video, thanks for sharing! Actually I love all your videos. I find them very helpful and I've learned a lot. I must say though, I just found out how important a good blow dryer is. My blow dryer was over 10 years, the tip had broken off, the back part had broken off, was super heavy, but it still worked so I kept using it. Just this week I decided it was time to ditch the old one and bought a new one. And WOW what a difference it has made! I love my hair and my pixie style so much more now! I wish I had bought a new one a long time ago!

June Decosta: Sharalee I always love your videos, especially the hair ones. You are such a beautiful soul inside and out. I am so sorry to hear of the loss of your sweet Bojo. Lots of Prayers

TidyLife: I love how even without the internet in the 80's & 90's, we all had the same hair no matter where you grew up in the US My hair as a teen looked exactly like yours only brown. Thanks for sharing

Mimi: Oh my this was so much fun. My daughter went through the “Mall Bangs Big Hair” phase. I used to have to use a razor blade to scrap the Aqua-net off of the bathroom counter. And the floor …. Yikes. Thanks for this. I am of the thinking. It’s only hair. I’m always ready for adventure

Jane Daley: Loved all of your curlier styles! Have you ever thought about perming your pixie cut? Medium size curls would look SO good on shorter hair with highlights!

Taramisu: I used to get perms too. My hair always took really well to them and it gave my hair some life. I even got a spiral perm one time. I enjoyed my longer hair but wouldn't go back to it now, I keep it shorter. This was a fun video!

Kathy Hansford: This was fun. I’ve shown your picture to my stylist multiple times! You have been my “Meg Ryan” picture. Like you, as a young person I had long hair, then in the 70’s, I got the “Farrah Fawcett” cut. Over the years, I kept getting shorter and shorter. Last year, I finally went really short. I love it. It’s so quick and easy. Thanks for all your fun videos. You’ve been a blessing to me!!

Leoma Smith: Thank you so much, Sharalee! This video came just in time! I’m getting my haircut tomorrow with a new stylist in our new hometown. I too, have a fuller face, so I’m thinking of a short shag haircut with lots of layers. I’m wanting to add height to the top of my head in order to take the focus off my jawline. I love adding product to my hair to make it fun. Thank you again!

regina gilley: I remembered the 28 days of different styles!! That was so much fun and I loved the variety that you created. I do love your shorter style but, I must say that I love your creative ability...flare when it is a little longer.

Maureen Walters: I reminisced through the hair journey with you!!! We shared many of the same styles and still kinda do now My husband also loves my short hair….and my stylist is fabulous and loves that I pretty much give her free reign

TrueCrimeNut: Sharalee. I just LOVED this video! It was a lot of fun!! I just loved your long DARK HAIR, but I love you most in your current style. You always look stunning!! ❤️

Mint: Hi Sharalee, thanks for sharing your hair journey! It was so fun to watch. I wonder what your next change will be. Sharon xo

Cindy Peroceschi: Sharalee thank you for your tutorial !!! Enjoyed every minute of it !!

Megan Murtagh: Absolutely LOVEEEEE this video! I hope you keep it short it is so gorgeous on you and it always looks fresh!!

Julie Brown: Thanks for sharing!! I think we have all had similar hair journeys, short and then long and back. I have had several times where I had very very short hair due to a disastrous perm, bad bleach job, crazy friend who thought she could cut hair. And about 16 years a go I had cancer and spent almost two years bald. Or with very very strange hair that was not what I had before. Now I know that I like my hair short and I don’t care what other people think. It’s red (dyed) with highlights and lowlights. This week I just added some hot pink highlights. I love it. After all it’s just hair and I can always change it. hopefully your video will help someone else realize that we all go through it and that the only person’s opinion about your hair that matters is yours! ❤️❤️

Mandy Keith: I love your hair! I used to wear mine super short and you’re inspiring me to do it again! How often do you go to your stylist to keep it this style?

ElenaMarie: I graduated from high school in 1986. I embraced all the 80s hairstyles to the max! :-) Thanks for the really fun video!

Can't stand it anymore: I really LOVE your long dark curly hair Sharalee!!!❤️. You have a great head of hair that always cooperates!!!❤️. My hair is so fine and fragile that im limited in what it will do as far as style.. Short wispy bob suits me well...

Carole Anderson: What a super fun video, Sharalee! Have loved your hairstyle from the very start. I had long hair most of my life, not as long as yours, but remember the huge rollers and ironing it to get it straight. Then after graduation I cut it very short. Guess I wanted a change. Still looking for a super stylist like yours, so it's always a work in progress, especially when I get the scissors out. Not a good thing to do. Lindy Queeno: Love this!! Thank you for sharing your hair journey! I’m also a pixie girl! For about 20+ years! I’ve changed it up a few times, too!♥️ I’m so sorry for the loss of your sweet pooch We too have just lost our sweet kitty. Doesn’t the house seem so empty? It amazes me how a little bundle of fur fills up so much space in our lives. God is good and I’m so thankful He gives us these sweet creatures to bless us & bring us joy♥️ Praying for you…..

M Goodman: You were a saint to have listened to your MIL! I would not have been so generous! :-) You look great with short hair and there are a lot of variations you can do with it! I loved mine that way! Thank you for being brave enough to show us your photos! <3

DIANA PADGETT: So fun! You’re so encouraging! Thanks for sharing with us!!

Carol Moore: Thanks for taking us on your journey...so fun!

Turra Gorman: I love your short hair! I noticed Dominique Sachse went short too and it is beautiful. I have fuller face and high cheekbones, I definitely think short is beautiful. Loved this video so much.

Cheryl: I cut off my long curly hair once and loved it. I wish I didn't care what everyone else thought. I want to do it again!

Judy Middleswart: Great timeline!! So love your style!!!

Terri Evans: I remember that pic from a hairstyling magazine! I got my hair cut like that too!! Thanks for sharing all your different styles.

Connie Reno: Such a beautiful lady you are!!! I noticed that you have gotten prettier every year!! Thank you for sharing your photos, I loved seeing all your hair styles through the years!! Much love and God bless!! ❤️

Janes Twocents: SO fun and so adorable! oddly, was just going thru my pix to help a new stylist understand me. for me, it's been long, short, grow back out...and now very short gamine pixie for about 5 yrs....for me, i could see what is consistent in preference. (off my face, minimal fuss) What is interesting in your story is how diff your straightened hair is relative to curly youth. maybe u will go curly again some day?? but so far, IMO, your current look is the most flattering of what u have shown. p.s. FINALLY tried "Enjoy" dry wax. love it! first of many recent buys that will NOT go to landfill. hurray! and thnx!

Janice Millican: Your hair journey was very interesting. You brought back so many memories, I had every color there is, like you, I would get a whim and do something drastic. Lol, after many years I truly couldn't remember my true natural color. This was so much fun...thanks.

Laurie G: Always fun to see someone who isn’t afraid to try new hairstyles I’m a retired hairstylist!!! My husband loved short hair on me because he thought it looked sporty and he was an athlete.

fostoriapink57: Loved this trip back to your hair journey!

Dawn Reinbold: What a fun video watching your changes. Love your current pixie!! thanks for sharing, you are a beautiful lady

Lena Boulekou: You are beautiful and classy both ways! The perm era was definitely a long one! I had the look for several years! I’ve been from long to short and backwards numerous times! Now I am short and enjoying a very short pixie undercut! I am voting for short hair at the time!

Linda Lincoln: This was a fun video!! Honestly, you are soo pretty you can wear any hairstyle. Plus, you have the perfect face for those short hairstyles. And you have a very talented hairdresser!!

Leanne Gilchrist: Boy, this was fun, and a walk down memory lane for me too, with my many haircuts and styles over the years! I look back at pictures at times and I say to my kids and husband, who I’ve been married to since I was barely 20, so 29 years, WHY did you let me do that! LOL! Growing up in Southern CA, I had that blonde hair, spending so much time at the beach since we lived 3 miles away from Huntington Beach~~I had your Bon Jovi hair, the perm, then a couple of days after my perm I got a bob! That was hilarious! This was a great video! Thank you so much, Sharalee!

Debbie Huizar: YOU ARE THE BEST, SHARALEE, AND A GREAT INSPIRATION!!!!!!

Herr Mandel Stamm: You're a rarity!! You've gotten more beautiful with age!! Your husband is a lucky guy! Thank you sooooo much for sharing your hair journey!!!

Tess L: Ive loved your short hair. I had a pixie as well and have grown it out (which isn't always fun) but I love always switching things up.

Evie Knutsen: I love your hair! You have a wonderful hairstylist! ❤️

Kimberely Higginbotham: I love your cut that also made me want to cut my hair into a pixie that I absolutely LOVE!!

Sherry Roberts: Thanks for sharing your hair journey with us Sharalee- fun video. You look beautiful in all the hair styles, but that short spiked hair-do you are wearing is adorable. Years ago, I got my hair cut really short and spiked. My best friend loved it- my Mom hated it- lol. I love your eye makeup and that beautiful Rose color you are wearing. It is one of my favorite colors, along with lavenders/purples. What eyeshadow are you wearing? Happy Easter to you and yours.

Angela Hagood: You sure are brave to show your hair history! My 2nd grade year I got my Mother to roll my hair like Marlo Thomas in “That Girl”. I looked awful!‍♀️My hair history would be the stuff a comedy show would use. I also loved Meg Ryan’s hairstyle in “You’ve Got Mail” but there’s a reason that her style and not mine…disaster again! LOL. I’ve learned so much from watching your videos, your spunkiness is what makes you fun to watch! I hope that lots of viewers will go for it…you too guys…I know you subscribe. Great video!

Bruce Franklin: That was fun to watch. Your long hair looked very nice, but you found your true style with that first long pixie cut in Colorado.Interesting to know that you really refined your iconic pixie almost from the beginning , with your stylist that you still have now.I found your channel pretty early on, because I had cut my hair from pretty long (rocker) style to a shorter shag and wanted to learn how to style it.You taught me a lot and I've followed your trend of going shorter over time ,but no shaved edges. Your channel has certainly been a success and not only because of the content, but also your sweet personality.

Elizabeth Watson: You have always had beautiful hair. I love it from the time you were a tiny girl to now!

DinksDinersArtbox: Thank you! yes, I think I've mentioned it before, that I've had long hair most of my life, the few times I've had it short, I hated it, but as I've gotten older, I really hate just slapping it in a ponytail. LOL and I've figured out why I hated it, my first venture was a long shag that was shorter than Dorthy Hamill's when I wanted Fahrah Fawcett's hair.*L* and the second time, I burned it with two perms one in Oregon, one in Kansas and one week apart. That was a fuzz fest! the last time, I gave the gray hair to a make up artist, and it was shaved 1/2 inch all over. That I really hated. But after watching your style videos.. I really approached the hair wrong, and I didn't know how to work with it. But, I'm itching to try again, and I'll go armed with pictures and some how to under my belt. Thank you again for sharing your how to and get ready's.. the inner girlie is coming out!

Gizmo: Yes, this video was fun! We only do what the times call for cuz it’s right for that time. And you wore all of them well because you are a beauty. What a beautiful child you were too! There was a little bit of “the awkward” stage, but not much. You blossomed quickly and became a beautiful young woman and as the years go by, you just get better. You wear the pixie cut so well and I’m obsessed with trying to duplicate it. My hair won’t spike and the back has a million swirls, it makes me crazy. This cut was made for you and thanks for bringing it to the public.

Libby Miller: How fun to walk down "memory lane" with your hairstyles!! You have such great hair to work with! I remember you talking about your long hair in past videos, so it was fun to see pictures of you then. Boy, I'll tell ya, this hair deal!! I just had a really BAD experience with my hair and highlights! Instead of blonde highlights like I wanted, my hair processed faster than the stylist thought it would and it ended up with GRAY highlights!!! GADS!! Well, I left really in shock! I called and went back in that day and had another stylist put a toner on it, but that just made it darker and dull!! Anyway, I have washed it several times and it is better, but not at all what I wanted! Looks like I will be searching for a new stylist and spending more time and money on highlights!! Sure wish I lived close to you and could go to your WONDERFUL stylist! I need to remember, like you said, "It will always grow out and you can always color it again"! Oh, how I needed this video today!! Thanks, my friend! Much love and blessings....And, I will continue to pray for you during this sad time. Our pets are part of our FAMILY! We grieve for them just the same!

Debbie Crosby: Sharalee, I think the cut you have now with the shorter back and more tapered sides is my absolute favorite!!

Debbie Rogers: Love, love, love your hair! I hope you don’t mind but I’ve been taking screenshots of you to take to my stylist. I actually shaved my head two years ago to get rid of my color and let my Silvers show but since then I’ve been growing it out. I live in Florida and the heat just kills me. Also, I’m a retired Stylist so I’m not afraid of short hair. My husband has actually been trying to get me to shave my head again because he thought it was sexy! You Rock!

Patty Hogan: Your cool hair made me watch your video. I love short hair! And I can relate. My husband likes it long but pixie is way easier and what makes me happy. I also love the gray color on you. So beautiful!

Jan Rodriguez: I can relate . Love your hair journey. How does your husband like your short hair. I want to get a pixie cut but my hairdresser won’t cut it in that short . My hair is short. Love the video. Thank you for sharing.

JeanMarie Teresa: Fun video! I have never cared for short hair on me, but I think it’s adorable on you.

Tina Menard: SHARALEE... oh my goodness! I have extremely thick hair and have had no success in the past with products that claim to give you volume and lift I bought that catwalk root lift product and oh my stars the lift and hold it has given my hair! I also bought some hair wax because in the past I've only used pomade. I must admit a hair wax I got was fantastic between the root lift catwalk stuff and the wax I got I've got fluffy hair girl and I owe it all to you thank you so very much and God bless you

1950steele: Your hair is beautiful like it is now. Do not let it grow long again. Long hair on a woman over 30 (my opinion) makes one look older and pulls the face down. Don’t change a thing. You are a beautiful woman.

Wanda Urie: I agree! It is just hair. :) That was fun to see. I can relate. I used to have hair down to my behind, I could just sit on it. When I cut it, I went about to the bra strap. That length is more work (well that style was) than shorter or longer. I have it short now and on the few times I have grown it out (such as to a bob a decade ago) when I get it cut short again, my hubby agrees that short looks best on me.

Heidi Cook: I just love your pixie. It suits you perfectly.

Marcia-Lynn Whaley: I love your short hair. I had short hair for years and even shaved around my ears and the back. You are just adorable.

Michelle Pullinger: I have a full face and when I had long hair all I did was wear in a ponytail cos of how hot my home town in australia is. Cutting my hair off to pixie was the best thing I ever did and I play with the style each time. People often say to me my short hair is nicer than when I had it long as I style it.

Christa Knell: Oh my gosh! That picture that you found when you first cut your hair short is the EXACT same picture I used when I cut my hair short!!!!

Michelle Key: I love short hair and never dared until now. My husband also likes short hair. You look so good!!

Diana Woods: Sharalee, I also use to wear my hair like the picture you found on Pinterest. This was before I knew you. Then I started watching you change your hairstyles and of course I had to change mine also to look like yours. Right now, my hair has an undercut on the sides and the back. I never really had long hair like you. I always had shorter hair from my shoulders up. My hair was brown growing up and after graduating from HS, I turned it blonde and I'm now 71 and still have blonde hair. Of course it's gray if I would let it grow out. No Way!! Thanks for sharing your photos with us and again I'm sorry for the loss of your precious Bojo. I've seen him in on a few of your videos.

Fay Aaberg: Love the video, all your hair styles look good, but my favorite is the short style you have now. You are a beautiful lady inside and out.

Kathy Bruner: Greatest Video Ever Sharalee!! So much fun

Snels: This was fun! Off to give myself a trim!

Stuart Pierce: Love pictures so pretty. I remember my first perm lol. Thanks Sharalee Jennifer

Dixie Drost: Sharalee I'm so very sorry to hear about your little Bojo....I have a little Max. Praying for comfort in the emptiness. Sure enjoyed your hair journey! You've inspired me with your bravery and creativity.....and beauty!

sheila gilliam: I’ve always loved your hair. I too had a journey..my hair has been every color even that dark purple. Looks black but under light was purple. Called black orchid lol and I was a minister of music lol. My mom would always say you do know your hair looks purple when you’re standing up there..oh well as long as I sang nobody seemed to care. So it is fun to change and sometimes you are my muse as I take you along to my hairdresser sometimes lol. Thank you!

Stephaniemarie Kennedy: Great video! Thank you for sharing!❤️❤️

Jonnel Szentgyorgi: I had long hair most of my life and last year I cut it all off. A lot of my coworkers love my short hair. They sayI should have cut it off years ago be a use it looks cute on me

Gayle Logsdon: Oh Sharalee…. I loved loved your hair journey video. Fabulous !!! It was so much fun. I remember Aqua Net hair spray. Oh my !! brings back memories. Your hair styles throughout the years were really pretty but I love your pixie I definitely have fun with my pixie. I think a lot of women just don’t have the nerve to go short but glad I did You and I can pull it off ha ha ha What a great video
