Hi guys welcome back to my channel, I hope you're doing well. This is a very highly requested, video and one that I've genuinely been meaning to make for a very long time. I apologize it's taken this long for me to make it I'm making it now, but today we're gon na be discussing how to grow out your pixie cut. I'M actually so happy about this because genuinely growing up my pixie cut or has been such a long process and if you're currently growing out your pixie cut, you will know this process just takes o long, and it's actually so ridiculous because you don't think it would Be that hard I mean, you literally grow your hair without even thinking about it, but when you're willing it to grow and it won't it's the most frustrating thing and there's so many awkward stages of growing up a fixer cuts and all that jazz. I'M literally just going to talk you through everything I did. I think it took me some wonder I get this done. I'Ve got this done in March, it's been 10 months since I got my pixie cut cut. I think I can substantially say, but yes, this is definitely not pixie cut. Now it's fine, it's all grown. I finally got a bob which I'm very happy with, because now it can start to go and I can start more and actually pony tail the other day, which was a really big moment tears in my eyes it was all very emotional text, my mom and she Was like okay, so basically, I'm just gon na give you my tips and tricks on how I did this. I mean I can't take much credit for it. My body kind of just did this itself. That'S my first tip just let your hair grow, but no I'm gon na. Let you guys know how I manage to control all the awkward stages. Why did to style it and so on and so forth? So you know family, let's get started tip number one, and this is the thing that I did most wrinkly - that I think helped me the most cuts, that's mullet, mud and everything. Oh, I can't say that word. The month is inevitably part of the growing out stage of he cut, because when you get your pixie Carter carts, you get loads of layers cut in. So the shortest layers are up here, maybe they're about two inches, and then you carry on down and down down, and so the longest layers are at the back. Essentially short hair is just a very short mallet, because the mother is having really short legs. The top and then longer and bottom, and what happens when you start to grow out of pixie carts? It'S all your hair grows at the same speed. You don't have the top layer growing faster than the bottom there. So this means that bottom layer, when it grows an inch it grows to about here, but then the top layers only up here and you very quickly realized that you've got a mullet on your hands and you don't really know what to do with it. I heard that someone say this online and I just took it and run with it and it genuinely made the whole process so much easier. It'S just chopped that mullet pissed off every month or so just chop off a niche from the bottom. Some girls right, if you can pull off a mullet, please do I'm not hating on the mother. I'Ve seen some girls on Instagram just rocking a mother and it was a dangerous part of my life because part of my life. It was like a week, but I basically saw these girls on Instagram rocking my so cool same I'm gon na do that and they looked really cool while doing it, and I look like the cool mom trying to emulate that, and it just wasn't a look. So if you don't enjoy your mullet, just chop it off just an inch at a time. I know it feels like you're losing progress, but you just basically want to keep cutting it and to all the layers are at the same length. So you can see now. I mean I have got a couple of shorter layers up here, but it's because I decided to cut myself a fringe halfway through the burnout process, which I don't recommend, so they go but the rest of it. As you can see, this is my shortest layer now and that's pretty much hit the same note as what was originally the longest layer, which is this bottom bit of hair, which actually has stayed this length for the whole growing up process so yeah. I just recommend chocolate. My tip number two is learn how to start it, because you always hit awkward stages growing out your hair you're always going to hit a lens where you don't like it. That'S kind of just part of growing out your hair, there's always going to be a couple of weeks of you're like oh, it just feels awful. Should I cut it again and if you really are committing to cut the grow out, gold pixie cut just commit just go through roll with the orchid stages, because you know you're gon na get to the endgame at the end. But honestly for the first two months. I kept thinking like I should just drop this all off. I should just top it off and go back at the pixie comes cute. I loved it. You guys are commenting on my YouTube videos thing. I love you kids because say what am i doing? Why am i trying to grow it out because it just looked so awkward, it's just figuring out how to start it, and I personally found that curling. My hair was the best way of signing it, and I've done a video about this. So if you guys want to go watch that I will link it down below, but I found that by curling it. I could kind of hide all the awkwardly length layers within themselves and it would create this kind of messy meant to be awkward. Look. It looked a lot better than it did when I just came out the shower and let these layers kind of stick out all over the place at different angles. So just work out what's best for you cutting it, maybe braiding it. You could do two tiny, Tony Lippett ponytails, depending on how long your hair is or straightening. It is another way of doing it, just figuring out how you prefer to style it. I think of those few weeks when you really do have that open haircut to just stick with one style throughout it, especially if you've got short hair when you start at once, it doesn't drop as quickly as it does when you start long hair. So the benefit was that I could kind of curl it on day, one after I've washed it and then day two and three it still looks good. I wash it again and then we carry process tip number three is accessorized. If you follow me on instagram you'll know that I have been consistently wearing sunglasses on my head to the point where people have been like joy. Can you take off your sunglasses? This is too much, but I'm not trying to make it a Brian thing or anything like that. I just found that by putting something in my hair, it distracted from the fact that the layers weren't necessarily great other accessories, I like to use as well hair bands. I'M really really loving hair bands at the moment and, throughout this whole growing up stage it they really did help me. You can get really thin ones, really thick ones. The whole time that was going through the pixie cut stage I really enjoyed playing around with either dressing ultra feminine ultra masculine and kind of having that contrast of having the short hair and a really ultra feminine outfit. Look like a local hair band and the sundress or an optimum ask Yulin outfit was like baked a boy heart to the really structured trousers, long jacket. I just really liked that look. So hair bands, for me was big. Yes, in also again distracting from the awkward layers that have in my hair, and also just keeping my hair back because, as I was growing up the layers around my face, it would end up flopping forward quite a lot, and I would end up looking a little Bit like Leonardo DiCaprio from about the 90s, which wasn't the best, also silk scarves if you've got any, I picked some up from the local charity shop thought actually I'll go get them. I picked these up from a charity shops. I think this one's silk, this one's just some sort of fabric - I'm not sure I just get this and just tie it around my hair, all that stuff type up at the back on the front yeah. I don't really know how good this sucks, but basically the reason I love doing this is because I really really enjoyed having these long bits down by my face, because that's what I missed from having long hair, I really miss having long bits that kind of elongate The face a little bit so this gives the illusion of longer hair, even though it's blue material, but it just creates this illusion of a longer face. Also, I think it just looks a little bit fancy, especially in the summer, it just looks really cute so yeah. I highly recommend using scoffs, but I'm gon na take this off because I really haven't started out incredibly well and finally, I would say my final tip is definitely look after your hair. Don'T dye it don't bleach it dear God, don't bleach it because I've learnt my lesson with bleach use the heat protection spray, though, and just make sure that you do a mask every cellphone on your hair condition a lot just keep it in the best condition, because You really don't want to grow it out and have it scraggly or dry or split ends, so the ends will make your hair take so much longer to grow, and no one wants that. You want it to be really healthy so that when you finally get to that long stage, you put so much time and effort into getting to long hair and then, when you get there, you want to be really proud of your hair and if it's in bad Condition and you'll probably gon na - want to cut it off again, so I used to use the inversion method actually, which is probably like a second tip, but within this tip, so I would literally get coconut oil from Tesco or something you don't need to splash out In these fancy or the literally coconut orders the job and then in the evening, for so it would be every day for a week once a month, so for a full week. Every month I would flip my head upside down and massage my head with the coconut oil for four minutes every night, and I found this method on YouTube. I'Ll, put a link down below for the video that I used. It'S actually really good and I don't know the science behind it. I'M really not too sure on where it is actually legit, but I found that it did genuinely work for me. Apparently it forces all the blood to rush to your head, and so it just causes your hair to grow faster, really, don't know the logic there. I'M not a scientist. I went to a school so, but I did find that this actually caused my hair to grow at least half an inch, if not an inch more every month. So, instead of my hair growing half an inch every month, which it generally would do, it was growing an inch to an inch and a half every single month which made the whole process so much faster because it was really nice at the end of the months To see that you genuinely made progress any weapon, definitely just keep your hand good condition to try not to use shampoos and conditioners that have alcohol in them. Sulfate, free shampoos and conditioners, are probably best if you can get them really natural ones. So just go to, like you know, call even call them in barrack. To be honest, if you've got one round you and they go, that's it. Those are my tips and tricks on how to grow. Your pixie cuts it's a long process. So, if you're halfway through I'm really feeling for you because genuinely when you get to that awkward stage, where all your hairs kind of just above your ears, it's just so good, but you will get there, don't worry just style it and also just rock it. If you really like how your hair looks, I'm here saying ah that's awkward stage, this awkward stage like if you enjoy having a mullah or having your hair, this short or whatever rocket. Please do because sometimes just confidence is what you need, and even if your hair doesn't look great or traditionally good, if you can wear it with confidence and if you can walk out and like yeah, I've got a mother, and this is how I look. People will kind of react to that in a positive way. If you feel good in yourself, other people will feel that off you and they will think you look great. It literally doesn't matter if you're looking traditionally and good if you feel good, just rock it and that's probably actually the main tip that probably should stop. It hope this video with. But there you go, that's my honest opinion say yeah. Otherwise, I hope you all have a fantastic day. I do comment down below if you've got any more questions or if you want a part two to this. If you want me to not answer your questions i more than happy to but yeah, this is kind of a topic. That'S been brought up on my instagram affair. There comments on here so just thought. I should tell you all on how I did it and I'm really out of taking credit for, like I did how I grabbed my pics cut it literally just my body grabbed my hair and I like to deal with it so yeah, and I will see you My next video bye

Clara :3: I’m still growing mine it’s been 4 months and my hair is already almost a bob here are my tips -don’t wash your hair everyday the natural oils in your hair make it grow - massage your head once a week -don’t bleach or dye it -try not to use heat -use your favorite shampoo not a super strong one and use conditioner -use hats or beanie during awkward stage

jbel7510: I always thought my hair grew fast... until I started growing out a pixie cut Otherwise, congrats on getting to the bob cut! Hair growth pretty much picks up from there rapidly in my experience

birddeh: I am growing mine out right now and I agree with all of what you said. So many times I wanted to just cut it off but once I got over my first mullet I realized to embrace the mullet and roll with the awkward. It got easier to handle the awkward in months 3-4 of growing out because I think once your sideburns and hair around your ear grow down it becomes more manageable. From one pixie grower to another, keep it up!!

Mercadis Grantland: Growing mine out now! Just cut my first mullet off the other day after 3 months growth. Soooo close to a bob I need like my ear section to grow like 2 inches to match my back section

NANA: i got my hair cut short ... last week? and i'm already planning on growing it out lmaooo. i've had short hair for 5 years now, and i've come close to growing it out twice but each time i give up and cut it off again but third times the charm.... wish me luck guys

Lovely turtles:p: Me: *GROW GROW GROW* also me: awww I wanna keep it short

Daniela Alejandra: I'll give you some tips! •Massage your scalp! Yes, you'll be fine with 5 min before going to sleep. •If you want to grow your pixie gracefully, you have to TRIM your hair! Just to give it some shape. Explain to your hairdresser that you want to grow your hair. •Avoid heat. You want long hair, but healthy long hair... Right? •Aloe vera is AMAZING. Truly, I can't stress enough how great it is. Put some into your hair 2-3 times per week and you will see good results. (You can also put some Castor oil, Coconut oil...) •Take vitamins. Follic acid is great for hair growth. •Exercise! •Patience! •What I do is to watch these kinds of videos, images on Pinterest... I'm also on a Facebook Group about women trying to grow out their pixies! Lol. •DRINK WATER. !!!!!!!!!! Hope this helps, and excuse me for my English :)

hannahphernalia: Yay girl, I'm currently letting my second pixie grow out, so this video comes at the perfect time!

PokePotato: This is only 10 months? That's amazing! I actually really want my hair to be like yours and I'm so thrilled to grow out my pixie further and further. I'm almost through 2 months of doing so, well, I only decided very recently to grow it out but last time I cut it was 2 months ago, so that's some kind of progress? This is the best explained video ever! Everyone is like 'use vitamins' or 'use these products' and I just want it to grow naturally. Thank you for this video!

wickeddance93: I grew out my pixie cut several years ago, took about ten months to get to a bob. I did love my pixie cut but I don’t think I’ll ever go back to that mainly because of the hassle of growing it out. These are all good tips! I was lucky that it was winter during most of the awkward stages, so I would wear a beanie or beret every day to hide it. Patience and persistence is key!

Regina Hanson: I've been growing out a pixie cut for almost two years. You have a lot more growth than I do. Great ideas with the wraps! I'm going to invest in a couple. Thanks for a great video. ♡

Nina Simeunovic: I started growing it out and it lasted for like 3 months but I gave up and cut it so this is my second try*pray for me*

A.D.: helped me a lot!! I am thinking about growing out my hair for over a year now and always chose to cut it of again when it reached the awkward phase xD Now I guess I‘ll get through it c:

Liz M: Thanks for the great video and encouragement! My lady pixie cut was 5 months ago... ugh.... i get the mullet cut off about every 6 weeks and that does me well!! Cute hair! So glad i found you!! Hugs

Lpg 8: I love your hair!!  I'm growing out my hair due to chemo and it is now the same length as yours.  Can you tell me if you have your hair in a balayage? I love this style and I want to get it soon.

Naomi: I'm suffering the mullet stage right now and that's why I looked up a video like this one for advice

meg lbrn: Almost 7 months of growing my pixie cut, and I'm so proud to say that the process is almost done! I have a bob since month 3/4, but I don't like short bob on me, so I'm waiting til my hair touch my collar bones to let my hair down! It might take around 3 months but I'm currently working on the health of my hair. Ugh, I'm so happy! Ladies trying to grow out their pixie cut : YOURE GONNA DO THIS ! And time flies really fast! Plus, each month you'll see a difference by taking pictures and it's such a great feeling, i promise !

A Blackmer: Time to go chop off my mullet

Lunarrhalo: I shaved my head around Valentine’s Day last year (it was 1/4” long all the way around!) and I’ve been growing it out since April 2018. It’s just now getting to that awkward above the ear stage. I decided to get tape in extensions and they turned out really nice but now I’m tired of having to style them because they are different from my hair. I made an appointment today to have my extensions taken out but now I’m back to just sticking with the awkward outgrowth ugh thanks for the tips though. It’s good motivation and it’s keeping me from cutting it all off again

proud2BaNurse: Thanks dear!! I've got an extremely short cut and am on my 3rd week of growing it out. My bf doesn't know I'm growing it out yet cause obviously it still is quite short. I've been thru this many times b4 and the process is truly brutal! Good luck to all in the growing out stage...and I must say....... [[[[[ YOU CAN DO IT!!!! ]]]]]]

Sarah A: I really like the length if your Bob. Suits you too. I have a long layered pixie at the moment and want to grow it back into a Bob like I had before so these tips are very helpful.thank you :)

Lydia B: I found your video because I'm currently in isolation with an out of control pixie cut! I have been wanting to change my hair for a while, but was too afraid to endure the growing out process - I guess now I have no choice! Headbands and clips are my new best friends. Wish me luck! I really like your hair as it is now

Dani Burns Performer: I tried curling it and it fell out within two hours. Forever jealous of those who can keep a curl for days!

Ambrosia: My hair melted off in a bleach fail. (Lesson learned). I went from 2 foot long hair, to a VERY short pixie. Let the growing begin lol

Paula Leão: THANK YOUUU, your video helped me so much! the mullet thing was very important!

Whats-My-Fandom: I’m growing out my pixie for the 2nd time in my life! Wanting the length you have now. I swear after this I’m never cutting it again (HAHA)

S R: I want your hair length so so much now. It will take me at least 3 months

Liz S: So for the first year I watch “growing out a buzz cut” videos. Now the second year of growing this. Will it ever enddddddddd lord have mercy on my head

BlueGuise: Your hair looks amazing in this video! Did you use straighteners?

• • Ash • •: I thought my hair grew really slow until i started growing out a pixie it’s going really fast in only 5 months

lei lei: i just stumbled upon your video and omg thanks for all the tips!!! my hair is currently just a lil bit over my ears, and my mullet is THRIVING! i might follow your lead and go chop it off! i'm also thinking of an undercut sorta? like maybe it could pass as a very short bob but also may hair is thick and wavy so it could also look absolutely terrible lol i should give the inversion method a try, but i was wondering, do you wash your hair every morning then ? or do you just rock the greasy roots look ?

Sarah Galassini: Just subscribed you’re really pretty and I love your personality!! You do you girl!

Ashley Butera: OK so this is the video i found your channel with. I think that was my issue the first time i attempted to grow my hair out years ago, I thought ‘ok i’m growing out my hair lets NOT go to the haircutters’ which was probs the biggest mistake i made. The hair growing down my neck drives me nuts, esp since i get my sides and back shaved and that was killing me. But then I saw you and other ppl agreeing to yes, go get it cut so i’m hoping that’ll help me. Thanks for all the great tips on this video! Really loved the scarf tip that’s so cute. Really enjoyed hearing your tips and your experience throughout this growing-out journey.

Cath Nailtheday: I’m a month behind you, can’t wait for my bob! My haircut is booked for January 19th! your hair lols so pretty x

Kylee Thompson: I’m literally at the Leo from the 90s stage rn and I’m dying inside thank for the tips

Wendy: So helful! I live the scarf idea! Thank you!

Debra Jackson: I got my hair cut to a pixie probably around 6 months ago. Around 2/3 months I got it trimmed. In the moment it's a long pixie. Wish me luck I'm trying to get it to a bob

Jessi Jade: My hair grows hella fast, I got a pixie cut in October and now it is the end of January and when I straighten my hair it is kind of a bob. I’m also really lucky cause my mullet can blend in with the rest of my hair ;)

Sleepy Soul: I know this is old. I cut all my hair off because of a long mullet I got a pixie cut 2/22/19 a day before my b-day but it's taking a while to grow, I've been taking biotin it has helped some and I'm going to start using biotin shampoo and conditioner but I will definitely trim the mullet side when it comes. Never thought about that idea. But I know every time I've gone to a place go get a trim they took too much off. So I'm going with your idea. Hope it helps

the void: I’ve got an appointment to trim the mullet and then it’s a 3 month straight road to a bob! Woo

Ugh Not You: my hair is too thin to do anything with it :') I'm now focusing on treating it to make it thicker and longer ^^

Rainy Dayze: It's been 9 months since I've last cut my pixie. Still looks like a pixie cut lmao.

Kassidy Weiss: I got my pixie cut 7 months ago and it is finally a short bob and I'm so excited that my mullet is gone

Rigor Mortis Tortoise: This is awesome!!

hitsujiandcake: In the process of growing out my pixie cut. The front is so bulky and I find pinning it back works well to try and keep it tidy. Not enjoying the growing out process, but this isn’t the first time I’ve cut my hair short, so I know I’ll get there eventually. :)

Danielle Eliza Way: Pausing to say .. you are so flippin gorgeous!!!! Holy crap you are pretty.. okay unpausing for inspiration.. shaved my head 3.5 months ago and growing this out is driving me nutty !!!!

holly whitcomb: Wanted this for so long!!

Toni Lou: That's the only thing that keeps me from getting a pixie cut yet

Crow: I love short hair (boycut/pixie and bob) so I wouldn’t really mind growing it out to a bob (since I can’t get a haircut because of quarantine). It just looks awkward without a trim. :,)

Lauren Klinkhammer: It’s funny because I WANTED that Leonardo in the 90s/boy band look I’ve had a pixie cut for 10+ years and I’m finally growing it out now. Thanks for the upload!

Skiferrr: I don't know if this is the right place to ask this but I'm going to: so I'm a shy person trying to become more social and noticeable. Lots of people in my school have long hair. Does anyone reading this comment think I should try to do a pixie cut and maybe raise my confidence by doing so??

Heather Marie: I shaved the back of my head buzzcut short early on in my pixie phase so I’m going to end up skipping the mullet and ending up with an asymmetric a line soon enough. The front of my hair is nearly 8inches in the front from the top of the frontal suture line whereas the back is nearly 3.5 inches from the occipital suture line

Karen Krista Tulinius: I'm trying to grow it and I'm bleaching and then dying it blue soon just so I can handle this shit haha

Llyraa: Halfway through month nine- I remember watching this about six months ago.. I’m not there yet , it’s been painful

itsmestephanie: How did you style your hair? Did you use a straightener as a curler? I just got to 8 months of growing out my pixie and im trying to find a good style, mines a little shorter than yours

vitural.virgo: I grew my bands out before growing my pixie. The mullet still exists & the sides are just above my ears its bad but I rock it.

Olivia Siez: I'm growing out my pixie cut and I'm at the awkward stage, like 2 more months and I have a Bob, I never rlly get a mullet cuz I have wavy/curly hair so my hair att the back curls up lol anywaysss gl to the people who came back to this video

Stuti Chandwani: omg i love her length

Love haircut: Hello, I love your hair. great Video

ʍօօղςհíӀժ ღ: Tips for people who want to re cut it: Try to keep the back a little longer but still even so you don't have to go through the mullet stage. TRUST ME IT WORKS! *I have had a pixie for 5 months and I already have a bob!!*

Donna Thornburg: Thanks for the tips. This growing out stage is awful. Am going to buy a wig untill it grows out.

summer gies: I'm at the 'cousin it when my hairs not brushed back or to the side' and the mullet look

Anais Anais: I spent the entire year of 20/20 growing out a very bad pixie cut. January of this year it was finally to my collar and I couldn't take it anymore. It looked so bad I went and got a pixie again. Now in month 4 of another grow out. At least this time it's growing out from a cute pixie instead of the mess I had to deal with last year. I found some thickening leave in growth oil on Amazon that is actually working AND it doesn't leave my hair greasy or oily and I have naturally fine, oily hair. I also do coconut oil and sleep with it in several nights in a row then use a sulfate free shampoo, but that's literally the only time I use shampoo. Any other time I need to cleanse my hair I use cleansing conditioner made by Renpure. As for learning how to style this? All I can say is I cannot wait for this to be over (so that I can cut it off and live with the regret again ).

Kaytie Miller: I had hair a little bit past my chin then my dad shaved the side I hated it so I cut it like it is now but now I want long hair

asbjørn: Curently growing up an uneven pixi cut, because one side is shorter than the other

Iris Macaulay: Did you wash out the coconut oil after?

cal solace: thank you!

FUNKO BUTTERFLY: I have a pixie and am I the only one that doesn’t want it to grow.

Adila Widjajanti: i’m growing out my pixie but next month is graduation day so i gotta chop off the mullet

Louisa klimentos: I am growing all my layers out and it is starting to come out of the messy look . I have been told Zi look like a mop head lol

Kay: I got my hair cut into a pixie cut about 1 year ago, and it's growing very slowly. The back is down to me shoulders and the front is down to my chin what do I do ahhh

Haircut Women: beautiful

Marlene Boring: I had mine cut two days ago and hate it! Growing it out again!

Danny fantôme: My hair looks so awkward at the moment In the front its really long (to the ears and in the back it's in ma neck -idk how to explain-) It looks so shitty. XD I'm growing it out since 1 ½ months and It feels like, that it takes forever ._.

My Kingdom For a Horse: Growing out my pixie now and its very hard but now that its longer and it is a bit wavy, I am starting to feel like this is do-able. Those newsboy caps are wonderful too. **Not sure I am going to do the blunt cut thing people say to do because I actually dont look good in one length at all. My layers are growing out in a fun way so I might be one who doesnt mind the mullet! I am going for a medium length shag so we'll play it by ear. I like the shaggy hair growing out longer on my neck. I had to pixie my hair to cut off 5 yrs of dark red henna that went green after coloring. Now its blonde and short and I am excited to see a new hairstyle grow out.

professional michael distortion kinnie: THE SAMURAI BUN!!! my *life saver* especially because I have my pixie cut longer on the top (kinda like grown out fuck boy hair when it was first cut)

Eh: I love my shirt hair but I’m really bored!

Shaniafan1: I really can’t wait for the pony tail stage.

Sebastian W: Thank u finally

Cherry: cut my hair this year on January, cut off mullet about 2 months (March). Then decided to leave the rest grow supposed to cut mullet every 2 months, but I'm too lazy. Anyway I'm on 6/7 months now, top part of my hair past my ear already and lower awkward part is on shoulder length so.. probably getting bob haircut on December. can't wait! 6 months to go!

Christy Kaderman: I'm almost to this phase my front needs an inch to keep up with the bottom so almost no more mullet 1 more inch

Regitze Janniksen: Tried it once before know its long and frustrating but after a couple of lice treatments my fine hair cant take anymore always very carefull but anyway it falls out so easily tried both chemical and natural treatments had to cut it so its easier to treat when im sure theres no eggs or lice coming back anymore I can finally go to a salon to get it fixed and going there to get my ends done so another time if I get lice and if my hair is long I will not damage it but get a pixie and then treat its easier with fragile hair when its short.......
