I cut all of my hair off and I am super excited for the way it turned out. I mean I had really long. Curly hair, for as long as I can remember and finally, cutting it off and deciding is coming off was awesome because I feel like I have so much more freedom with doing whatever I want with my hair, keeping it. You know just keeping it playful all the time, so I wanted to kind of give you the story. In the background of why I cut my hair, especially someone like myself, who I have curly hair. It'S like wavy, curly and the essence, but I'm really excited and I'm really happy that I did it. So I cut my hair, like probably the week before Christmas last year, 2017. So it's been a few weeks of growth since I've had it cut I'll, put up pictures of what I had when I first got it done right there at the salon. It was looks a little different. The way they put in product compared to what I put in product, I tend to put in a little more product. So it kind of has like a glossy, almost crunchy kind of wet look which a lot of people don't like, but I like it because I think it keeps the hold in and I think it just makes your hair look shiny and always ready to go. So those are the pictures that I had right when I got first got a cut and I feel, like there's, been a little bit of growth, especially on this side, since it's a little bit a lot shorter, so this side actually have pinned up. I have it. Curled up in a few places just to keep it out of my face for today, but this side and then all the way around the back. It'S really short, I mean probably like an inch, maybe a half an inch. It'S really short, but I love it. It'S it's been really easy to take care of, and especially in the shower just kind of I don't have to use a comb anymore, which is the only Commons. I don't even use anymore because I just use my fingers to kind of put a product and you know manipulate my hair. So one of the questions I want to answer is: why did I cut my curls? Often it's one of those things it's like. Why did you cut your hair, your hair, so beautiful? You have so few of luscious curls and don't let that define you because your hair shouldn't define you should be a quality of something that maybe you possess, and you have these naturally curly curls or you know this hair, that's beautiful, but don't let it define me. You can cut it off if you want to like. I did. I do not care like I love my curls, and you know I can still show off my curls in a short way and that's something that I liked right now. So I really wanted to just do something different and when I was in college I had my hair, probably my bellybutton. It was just super heavy and handed ponytails all the time and braids, because it was just so hard to control all the time with schoolwork, and then you know working out and going to classes. I was just like I did not want to do with my hair. My makeup, like all this extra stuff, so I just said I'm gon na cut it out so actually in college. I went to about shoulder length and then I think there's like a month later, I was just like I don't like it. It just felt weird. Are you had a curly hair specialist, so my hair still looked good? It just wasn't me, so we went even higher than that and I'll put up a picture of what it looked like, and I started doing like the longest right here and then it kind of went up in the back, and I've had that for probably two years And I've always wanted to go shorter, but I just kind of kept it up the length cuz. I was comfortable with it and I just maintained it for a few years. So, finally, a few months ago, I decided what the heck I'm just gon na I'm just gon na Pinterest and look up images of you know: girls with the natural curls like mine, similar so they're, not so, if they're not like take curls but they're, not waves. They'Re AB spiral curls kind of it's very light, and I wanted to find people who had different curls like mine and not fake curls, like short fake curls it. So I did a lot of interesting and I came up with a few different options and I'll put them up right here and I showed them to my stylist, and I said this is what I want this is. I wanted to go short, but I want to want to go too short like I didn't want to go this all the way around. I still wanted to keep a little bit of fun. This I'm a little bit of curl to it, so I ended up going with this picture and we decided to do like the shortness all the way around the ear and keep it tight or on the neck. Of course, there's been a lot of growth since then, but just keeping it tight and then and then having more fun up here and it came out awesome and I love it. It'S been wonderful. The showers I've been a lot shorter. I mean I still do the same kind of routine by keeping it a little bit of conditioner. I use the same kind of curl gel. I do use a different not like a leave-in but sort of like a soft gel, like a mold kind of so on. The days I don't want, like that wet crispy look, I can go something a little bit softer and my curls are fluffy or almost or not as defined, but I'm able to play around with that - and I love that so much some of the likes and dislikes That I have of my hair first of all, shortness, it's so much easier to maintain, of course, use a lot less product, and you can you can kind of pin it up how you want to you know you can. I can when I come out of the shower - and I don't have to keep my hair like in a certain position. I can sort of fluff it up and comb it if I want to and then a finger curl it and my curls turn out perfect. Every time I don't really have to manipulate it, how I want to some of the downsides are: if I want to wake up and not put on a hat, I have to either put a lot of water in it to sort of like push it down, because My hair does like once it stops like with this crispy feeling. If you run your fingers, so it just become fluffy. So if you wake up, I wake up and I have super Bed Head because my curls just become like all over the place. It'S not like. I can put it on a pineapple with my curls and you know make it nice it it fluffs up, and I can't just go on with my day. So I you have to wear a hat or like a fun big headband like one of those wrap head. Boobs or like a sport, headband or I have to take a shower. So that's a big dislike for me because sometimes I just want to go on with my day, and I don't want to. I just want to put it up in a big bun or something - and I just want to go on with my day but other than that. I really don't have a lot of dislikes with my hair, it's mainly just morning maintenance and that's because I'm a lazy person when I was doing a lot of research. I looked at pictures of curled girls with my curl hair type and I looked at how short they go some longer and I also looked at face shapes and one of the thing I came across is that they're so all over the place and that's one of The things that I want to say is that if you're looking to get a curly hair short cut or a pixie cut or whatever you want to call it, do it just do it, because it's something that you want to do, not because an article told you That your face shape is perfect or if your hair type is perfect, like make it work and figure out a hairstyle that works with your hair and something that you're comfortable with and something that you like. If you like it, do it because it's gon na grow back and you can cut it again or you can grow it out and know from experience that it didn't work for you, but just do it because you don't know until you try it. So if you want a short haircut, do it because it's awesome, it's so much fun and I feel so light and airy and my hair's not weighing me down. Of course I do miss my curls. Don'T get me wrong and too much my curls, but I love it. I feel so free. You know I can wear a fun hat and I could just go and that's great, so it's cutting my hair. I wanted to do an update, a video on how I style and manipulate my new short curly hair, so I will be doing an updated video on how I style my curls so be sure to subscribe and be in the know of when that is going to Come out

Katarina Ramos: My hair texture is similar to yours. I just chopped off my hair too yesterday. It’s an inch too short but glad I did it. It more wavy now than curly so that’s odd.

Marleen G.: I have wavy/curly hair and it is currently longer than tailbone length. I can't do short hair, because I have cowlicks everywhere, I'd have to wash it every day because it will stick up every morning. Now I just have to wash weekly, and be done with it. But everyone's different. :)

MrGretzky9966: It shows off your great facial features and lovely ears and makes the eyes pop. Did you toss out all your scrunchies, ponytail holders and claw clips after the haircut. Hope you keep it short.

wpaulvandyk: Wow i love your hair, you look so beautiful xxxxxxx

love sport: your haircut looks nice, was you able to donate all your curls or did they end up getting thrown out? its such a big change was you nervous having your haircut?
