Hey friends, i hope you're having a good day today so today i am going to do something that i haven't done in a long time and it is using these spoolies as they used to call them way back in the 1950s. I call these silicone rollers, but for those of you that were alive during the 50s you'll remember these as bullies. So i'm getting my hair cut in like two days on tuesday and i wanted to try this while my hair was still quite long, so anyways, i'm gon na start by using this john frieda frizz ease - and this is air dry waves - styling foam. I like this because it's a real light, styling foam, your hair will keep some of that curl as it dries i've just taken a shower and my hair is damp. It'S not sopping wet or anything. I'M not going to use a ton of this about one pump. So i'm going to work this through my hair roots, all the way to tips - and i don't know about you guys, but my hair is long. I don't remember it being this long in quite a while, and i am going to get quite a bit of shorter cut on tuesday. So i am excited about that. I'M going to go for short on the sides in the back and then a much shorter on the top. I'M really really excited. I'M also gon na get some highlights right here in the front, but keep my natural color throughout. I do miss the little highlights that i had so i'm gon na get those put back in, but i have really been enjoying my natural hair color. It'S just that i feel like highlights, could just bring a bit of brightness, we'll see how that goes, and, of course i will do a video next week trying to style my new haircut all right. So, just if you don't know what spoolies are they look like this and you basically wrap the hair around this and then fold it over like this. What you will end up with is a bunch of these all around the head and you should let them dry. So that's why i've been letting my hair dry mostly before i started this video so that it wouldn't take me an hour to get actual curls. So here goes what i'm gon na do. Is i'm gon na take a bunch of hair like this? I'M gon na wrap the hair around it like this and then fold it on top of itself, and we will do that all around my head three down 20, to go by the way my little pack of spoolies has some larger ones and some smaller ones, and I am working on the smaller ones right now i did a video on spoolies that i'll link up above probably about a year ago, when my hair was all blonde and it didn't come out as well as expected, but i think it's because i didn't let my Hair fully dry, and so it was just slightly damp when i took out the spoolies, so some people will put these in and sleep with them overnight, but i'm not gon na. Do that i'm just going to get them in my hair, wait about an hour and then i'll come back and show you how we can get a style out of it. Really if you have short hair these take literally like 10 minutes to get in your hair. So just to check in how are all you guys doing, i'm curious if anyone's tried, different new haircuts that they'd like to share. Have you decided to go longer, grow your pixie out a little bit. Have you decided to go shorter? I think the wonderful thing about pixie cuts is that every time i get my hair cut, it's always different than the previous haircut. So it's almost like you get to start over with a brand new style, every single haircut and also depends on what stylist you go to as well. We finally in northwest arkansas just got some cooler weather again, it's been really rainy here, the weather is like in highs in the 70s, so we are so excited that most of the heat is gone for the year, even though it hasn't been super cold or chilly. Even i've been wearing sweaters every day and just like i just i'm willing, fall to really get started and, of course i love fall clothes they're, my favorite, my son, just turned 21 and i took last monday off and went with my son and my daughter and Her boyfriend and we went up to branson and branson's about an hour away from where we live. I don't know if you've ever heard of branson, but it's kind of like the southern version of las vegas. It'S not like gambling or anything, but there's lots of, shows and shopping to do in branson, it's kind of like a touristy attraction in missouri and it's really fun to go, especially since it's only an hour away and we can kind of plan a day. But we went extreme go-karting and, oh, my goodness, it was so fun. These little go-karts went like 40 miles an hour, and so we had a blast, we went shopping and we went to a nice restaurant and ate lunch. It was so much fun, but while we were there, we got to go to a few different stores and i went to h m and got a bunch of clothes. I don't know if you guys have an h m where you are but they're very like reasonably priced clothes, but they're kind of got a modern player to it and real, simple and modern, and so like this shirt, i'm wearing today. It'S actually kind of like a sweater mock turtleneck. I got from h m and i think it was like 13, so very cheap clothes, but i've had a few things from h m that lasted years. So sometimes i'm on the fence. Oh, should i you know, should i spend a lot of money on clothes? Does that mean that they're higher quality - and i just i'm not the kind of person that likes spending a whole lot of money on clothes? Although if i find a good pair of jeans, that's more expensive i'll buy those. I just get bored of clothes, really quick! Pretty much after a season, i'm kind of bored of what's in my closet, i'm starting to run out of places to put curlers in and i'm starting to run out of the small spoolies. I think i might have a few more left in here. Oh there's another one yep we have two of the small ones left. It looks like i'm able to get a little bit off the bottom here in the back of my hair. So we'll just try to do this. One last one, maybe over here on the right side of my head. I think what i'm gon na do is just let this air dry and i might even do a quick little spray of hairspray on it right now, as well. Using my absolute favorite triple take 32 from redken, which is my favorite hairspray of all time, which one of my subscribers suggested this one and it's almost out, so i need to get a second one, all right, so i'm gon na set the timer here. Let my hair air dry and i will be back okay. I am back it's an hour later. I hope everything's dry, it's hard to know with a hair that is wrapped around the center part of this. If there's any damp parts left, but hopefully i've given it enough time to solidify some curls, so let's see how this goes, i'm going to go ahead and start taking these out. Oh that girl came out really pretty all right all right. So here is a look of what's going on here and let me show you what happened in the back. So what we've got to do is try to make a style out of this, so i'm going to get a little bit of product to help me kind of pull these hairs out. I do not want to comb through it because i feel like that, would just negate all the wonderful curling that these spoolies did. So i'm going to start with a little bit of my favorite product to use while i'm playing with my hair - and this is from oway - this is called water resin. I really like this brand because they use all organic ingredients and it comes from actually a farm. I think it's in france, but it's a wonderful company and i will link a place where you can get this. If you are interested, i purchased this on my own. The company did not sponsor me. I just really like this brand. My old stylist used to use this brand for color as well as products, and i just fell in love with it just because of how natural it is, how good smelling it is, and also because it supports organic farmers in europe all right. So i'm going to just put a little bit of this on my hands, not a lot, because i don't want my hair to feel kind of gunky. But what i'm going to do is i'm going to just start pulling these curls out, and these curls feel a ton different than normal curls. If you use heat curls, i might actually have to use a thick comb to figure out this part area. So i'm going to get a wide tooth comb right here and just carefully comb out this area. I like how wavy it's looking, it's really pretty, and if your hair is long enough that you can tuck it behind your ear, i think that's what i'm gon na do on this side. Let'S have a look to see how it's looking in the back all right. I am going to use a little bit of hairspray now to get a little more lift on the top, but i'm kind of liking the behind the ears on this style, especially since how long my hair is right now, and i think it certainly looks pretty classic And vintage, so we're going to use a little bit of hairspray here, try to get a little height on the front and right now, i'm just kind of molding this into a style spraying a little bit, because my hair has the tendency to just get flat, and So i have been really embracing using a hairspray lately for kind of getting that final style. Oh yeah, i am really liking how this is looking, so it's kind of got these gentle wavy curls, but i think it's adorable. Actually, i'm very happy with how this turned out. Let me show you the full 360 here so obviously the front here is my left side and i'll show you the back all right. Well, thanks for joining me today for the spoolie hairstyle, you know it's certainly easier to use these spoolies if you have a bit of a longer pixie and you can get more of a style in this when i have a short pixie, i can't even get this Around the spoolie, so this was a perfect timing for me, since i'm just about to get a haircut, but, yes, i will post some pictures of my new haircut on my instagram once i get my hair cut this week and also we'll be featuring a video. The next week with my new haircut, so i hope you enjoyed this wish me luck. You might be surprised when you see me next that i will look so different, but such is the life with the pixie cut. Well, i hope you have a wonderful week, friends, if you like this video, give it a thumbs up if you haven't, subscribed, i'd, absolutely love to have you, and i will see you next time, bye,

I’m attempting to grow out my pixie to a short bob with a little bit of layers. It’s probably gonna take me eight months to a year but I’m all in for the change. You and your family have a great week ahead and happy birthday to your son.
