The Dry Mold On Short Hair | Short Hair Tutorial

Hey y'all! Here's an easy style you can do to save time and avoid sitting under the dryer. This is what I call a 'dry mold' and you can achieve the same results as you can with a wet mold.

So this is his style nah. This is the mo Drive hey I'll back with another video. This is what we're going to do today and show you how to create styles with a blow dryer and dry wrapping your hair, instead of always wrapping your hair when it's soaking wet and then having to sit under the dryer for 30 to 35 minutes. This is a quick and easy way to get out the door if you have limited time, but your hair still looks exactly the same as it would if you did a wet mold on it. This is a traditional pixie style that you guys have seen me create before here on my channel, I'm going to recreate it today using this method - and I hope you guys learn something from this and you can apply it across the board. So without further ado, let's get into it. Okay. The first thing I do is add some leave-in, I'm using the infusium 23. The liquid leave in just run this through my hair, all over even the back and then the next thing I do is just part. My hair off because I'm going to blow-dry it kind of in the direction that I want to ultimately um style. It just like a rough outline, so I kind of have a guy when I start blow dry and then I take my serum, I'm still using a proclaim: argan oil. I like this one, a lot and a little serum to the sides in the top, and I just kind of work it through from root to tip and then I'm going to go in and show you how you can blow-dry it to prevent, having to wrap it. Wet and then sit under the dryer, so I'm taking my yellow bird dryer. This is it by Conair. This thing has never done me wrong. Okay, guys that's it like that was super quick and it's not like bone dry, but my hair is probably 95 % dry and that's what I want and I blew it up in the top, because that's the style I'm going to do. This is a quick tip for you guys. This is a great way to check your hair shape when you've cut it like. If you want to venture out - and you try to cut it yourself at home - have a video on how I do it. But this is a really good way to check it, because when you blow this hair out like this you're going to be able to see like, I can see the gradient here, I can see definitely like on this side. I can see how it's cut and you can turn from all sides and check your hair. This is a really really good way, so if you cut it and then you wash and conditioner and you blow it out, you'll be able to see what you did right. What you did wrong and you can make adjustments so the next time you know you know what to do to correct it and to get the exact haircut that you want. So now I'm going to show you guys how I mold, besides how quick it is and how I just bump the top I'll be right back. Okay, I'm going to take my new tres cuz. I like it and I'm going for a softer hole. So I'm just going to kind of reestablish those loose kind of hearts that I did before I started to blow dried, make sure everything's like I want it. You just take your phone. I think new treasures goes to shake a little and you just mold your hair. Like you would if it were wet, I do use a little less product when I do like a dry mold, but you just go in the same way, see that - and this is one to dry so so so fast, and I want this kind of slick. I'M only molding two Laval right here, because I can pick all this up with my flat iron - it's not too short, so basically, I'm going to mold the parts that are too short for me to actually like pick up with the flat iron. That'S basically what you're doing a dry, mold and because you're only molding those parts that are so short it's going to dry super-quick. I mean quick like ten minutes. Okay, I'm done molding. So this is this side, this side and then I'll show you guys the back and then I'm going to take a wrap strip and I'm going to take a big one off and one of the white ones, because they're wider cover this whole back portion that place It down pull it up, try this on my head and telling you probably ten minutes and you don't have to sit under the dryer for this just make sure it's on there secure and you know, do something else or get dressed or whatever it is. You need to do give it ten minutes, let it dry and then I will come back and I'll show you guys how I style the rest of my hair. When I do my hair this way. Okay back off, I add it a little black strip wrap because no, I just the white ones, just don't do it for me. I keep trying to use them cuz. I got like a giant pack, but that's it dry and ten minutes for real for real for real, I'm gon na. Add some seal them again and then I'm going to add a little bit of my Aveda brilliant work that, through I'm making sure to get the ends. Because when you blow your hair out like that um your ends have a tendency to not be as smooth you. Just think about it, when you wrap it you're laying everything down and they're blended into all your hair, and then they dry that way, so they dry smooth as they can be. When you blow it out, you don't have that advantage. So this is the style, and now this the mold dry I'll, show you guys the back. This is the back. All I'm gon na do is just curl, my hair, you know picking it up like this curling it with the small irons on the side on the sides and in the back and then the top under use my big flat iron, so I'm gon na fast-forward through Okay, oh, that's it all curled. This is just the traditional. You know: pixie style. I'Ve done it a lot of times. I think I've called it my Tamron Hall style. To me this is like the go-to I actually want to curl. My pixie actually want my pixie cut to be showing off and look like it's done. This is the style that I go to for that, but not using you know the traditional wet wrap mold sitting under the dryer for 30 to 35 minutes. This is a much quicker way to get that same style and the good thing about doing it. This way is - and I wanted to say this earlier - this works best on freshly relaxed, hair or freshly partially relaxed hair like if you've just done a partial relaxer to your back and sides, and you still have a lot of texture up here. This method of blow drying it and dry wrapping. It still works great because, as you can see, as I was curling there's a lot of body, you get up here from blow-drying as opposed to a wet wrapping it. You can still put your flat iron very close to the root and get this straight you're going to get that height you're, going to get that lift that you want and the hair will stand up nicely, even if there's texture at the root actually more. So if there's texture at the root, the only thing about it is, you do want the sides in the back to look nice and laid down and sleek. So that's why I say it's really good for freshly relaxed, hair or a French partial relaxer. So this is it guys, I'm still going to do the 360, even though you guys have seen this style a million times on me. You'Ve seen it on my channel more than once, I'm still going to show you guys how it looks. Okay, guys that was it as always. I hope you enjoyed this video. I hope you took something away from it. I hope learn something. If you have any questions or comments, please leave them down below in the comment section, I will get back to you guys. Thank you for watching. Thank you for supporting thank you for subscribing and until next time, bye.
