Hello guys and welcome back to my channel today's video is going to be short speed and straight to the point, i'm going to show how i achieve these soft blocks on my short haircut. So i'm starting out with freshly washed hair and the white stuff you see is this product build up, because i was testing things out before i started. Recording the first thing you want to do is pour your edges out. That'S what i wanted to do so i can make sure i did not put them up so that it looked like i had edges when i did the hairstyle and to slick them down, i'm just putting some edge control so that they will stay out the way. The entire time i am doing the style after that i began to part my hair, and i wanted to part it so that when i did the soft blocks, if i wanted to wear any part i made so that the exact lines that i wanted and the Parts that would fully fit my face and frame my face. The best were there. I know i look crazy. My edges are down and everything else, but just stay tuned and trust the process after i did all the parting. The next part is just, of course, do the axle parts for the locks - and one thing i want to say is since my hair was short, the best way to grip. It is to twist the hair as though basically you're, trying to lock it with some gel. So that it will be easier to come together when you're trying to put the rubber bands on if your hair is short like mine, you have to do the rubber band method, because, if you just try to plot your hair, the locs most likely will not stay On due to how sore and limp your hair is - and they most likely will start to fall out very quickly, please make sure, though, that you do not put the rubber bands too tight or you'll get a headache. So this was the next day and my edits and everything look a mess because they all got curled up in the shower due to the steam, but before i started actually doing the soft block process, i just made sure that i put this oil mixture. I use on my hair on my scalp so that my scalp will be moisturized. The next thing i'm going to do is just crochet the soft lock through, and i didn't really go in detail with this part, because it's basically similar to the same method. Everybody uses. The only thing is, i'm going under the rubber band to hold it in place now, the most important part that is going to make your soft blocks last, if you're doing them on short hair, is coming up so make sure that you're paying attention so that your Locs can last and so that you don't do all this work for no reason at all. So first, you guys see how i have the short piece of hair, which is my hair sticking out. That is very important, so that you can use it later on. So you're going to take whatever wrapping hair. You have - and i actually did not end up using this wrapping hair for my whole head, but you're, going to take the hair and you're going to put it into two sides: you're going to have a long side and a short side. The short side should be on the side where your short piece of hair is, and what you want to do is put a little bit of gel into your hair, to make it stick to the short piece of wrapping hair and, as you begin to wrap the Hair around the lock, you want to hold your short piece down at the same time, if that makes sense, i tried to come closer to the camera so that you can see and if it didn't make sense, just make sure you go back and watch it. A few times or leave it in comments down below and i'll answer any questions about it. After i did my entire hair of locs, i'm now just going to do my edges and i'm starting out by putting edge control. I mean heat protectant on my edges. First, before i begin to actually lay them after i put the heat protectant on them, i'm using the hat comb to go through them so that they will lay better. Once i put the edge control on, if you don't want to heat on your hair. Of course you do not, but due to how sweet my hair is, i have no attachment to it. So it's like, if i would have got heat damage for this, i honestly would not have cared, but my hair is still curling up. So it's fine after that. You'Re gon na then put on your edge control, of course, and this is just so satisfying to watch, because the hot comb just made my edges lay down so sleek and so smooth like this is how i love my edges to look it's giving low-key front. So maybe no not okay, i'm guessing, but yeah. It looks good. So if you want your edges to lay down like this and you have a thicker, hair or hair that curls up very easily, if you hot comb it before it will help for your edges. To last longer and to lay down because look at how bomb this looks and it's only with one try, i got my edges to look this bomb. I'Ve never seen my edges. Look this good before i just put this heat on it before when i was younger. I would just try to put product and my edges always looked a mess especially like when i would have leave out, and it would be like after my appointment like like probably a week or so after my edges, and if everything was just bad. So this looks so good. I was really happy about this, and so i'm just going to keep going through and doing the rest of my edges. I left a lot of clips in of me doing my edges just because i feel like it was really satisfying, but that's basically, all it really is to doing soft locks on short hair. The most important things are that you got ta have to do the rubber band method, which of course, is a little annoying because it takes a lot of time to put the rubber bands on and when you take them out. You'Re gon na have to cut them all out, but it will help your locs to last and this way, if you have a big chop, you can still have your scalp out. Maybe if you don't want to have your real hair out, but i just wanted to have my scalp out of lace for a minute so that i can actually be able to moisturize my hair, especially because i'm really going to grow my hair out this time. Instead of cutting it off, so this is how my edges came out at the very end and i'm taking this wrapping paper. Y'All know this is like the wrapping paper our mom used to have where she would get her a little wrap at the hair salon or whatever, but i'm using this wrapping paper to just hold my edges down and after i put this on, i didn't show this On camera, but then i also blow-dried my edges with this orange just because i wanted them to be set in place for as long as possible, especially since it is still hot outside, and here is some pictures of the outcome. I love this look. These are 36 inch locks and i hope you enjoyed my video. Oh
