Episode 16: From Extensions To A Pixie Cut
In this weeks episode, Ruby gets a pretty drastic change in her hairstyle, one that she's wanted but been in fear of for quite sometime. She also reveals the winner of the "Pay Your Dues" Raffle for the "Hooligans Help the BCRF" Fundraiser as well as the painting that she did especially for Breast Cancer Awareness Month. It started back in 94, up on the east coast, hello, world and all who inhabit it. Welcome to episode 16 of hooligans unite. My name is ruby and today we're going to be doing things a little bit backwards. We'Re going to be starting off with the video and then ending with the fundraiser information there towards the end, but make sure you stay tuned because we draw the winner of the payer dues raffle as well as debut the painting for the breast cancer research foundation. Fundraiser. But the reason that i decided not to do that first is because i didn't want to give you guys the finished product before you saw the process, so hence the hat, but before we get to the video, i just wanted to give you guys a little bit Of a backstory as to why this particular haircut was kind of a big deal for me, i have had a lot of difficulties with my hair over the years as we saw in the walk down memory lane video, i had short hair when i first came here To the wwe, but a lot of the women around me in the division had very long hair, and so i just thought if i was going to be accepted and that's how i was going to fit in, i was going to get extensions. My hair got longer and longer and it got to be more and more of a pain in the butt to keep up with, but i just kept them because that's what i thought we were supposed to have is just this long hair. I was pretty true to myself in every other aspect, except for my hair and then about a year ago. I decided to take them out and i debuted some rather short hair. Having taken those extensions out - and i am not going to lie to you - i got quite a bit of negative feedback when i debuted that short hair and a lot of really mean and negative comments that, even though i have tried for years to try to ignore, I genuinely couldn't. I was not in a good enough place mentally that i really could deal with that. So i put them back in very shortly after and kept extensions that i didn't really like that were a big pain in the butt and up until recently my confidence is higher um. I feel like mentally i'm in a better place, and i really felt like this was another opportunity for me to do something that i liked and disregard anything that anyone else said, and i feel like i've said that a lot on my channel. But i would really like for everyone watching just to make sure that you do things for you and doing things for other people. Can you know result in keeping extensions in for years that you don't even like? So it's a scary process that change is scary. Change is scary, but it was very exciting. For me i was very nervous, but the end result i couldn't have been happier with so i want to take you on this little journey with me. Today'S the day, i'm getting rid of my extensions and i'm gon na have a pixie cut. I'M gon na go into salon now and the next time i'm in this car, all of my extensions will be gone and i will have all of my own real hair. Wish me luck taking these extensions out and someone might be getting a picture. It'S all gone official squad, stylist and she's, going to touch up my greens and give me the pixie cut today. Amanda we're still ready here. It goes there. It goes there. It goes ready. Yes, i know i do and we are pixie. I love it. So so so thank you so much. Oh you're, the best so much it's all gone. I'M really bad at this, my oh god! Oh my god, all mine. I love it. I love it. So so much thank you. You are the absolute best. Thank you squad, stylist for life. I love it. I love it so so so much. I expected it to take a little time to really just like sink in um, but i it didn't take me any time at all. I'M i'm upset. I don't ever use this term like i'm obsessed, but i really i couldn't possibly be happier with the outcome. I'M just i'm so happy right now and uh yeah. I look good uh yeah, i'm so thankful to amanda and josh for uh for doing this. For me uh it just i'm like i'm. I feel great. My hair is my head. Is 10 pounds lighter and i just i feel good and i even showed up to this uh when i got back to my car and i don't even care like i don't even care, that's how good of a mood i'm in i got a parking ticket and I don't even care um, but yeah. It'S it's been a long road for for this, but i'm very happy with it. I'M very, very happy with it. It was exactly exactly what i wanted, so thank you amanda. Thank you guys for watching and going through this with me. I know what you're thinking that victoria beckham, no, it's just ruby. I know that i have been absent for the last i think couple weeks uh, so i apologize for that. Life is very unpredictable these days, because i didn't post a lot of videos for the month of october uh. That means i didn't really talk to you guys as much as i wanted to about the fundraiser that we were doing for the breast cancer research foundation. I didn't get a chance to post about it as much as i should have. I did get a chance to share the link as much as i should have um, and you know i felt like i neglected it a little bit and for that i do apologize. Uh we did end up raising about 825 for the breast cancer research foundation um, but because it was an error on my side, where i didn't give it the attention that it deserved. Like i have the other fundraisers, i went ahead and made up the difference. Um to get us to the two thousand dollar goal so that that particular fundraiser was not affected, because my life got crazy, so um. We did in fact hit two thousand dollars for the breast cancer research foundation, which is awesome, i'm very excited about it and because we did raise 825. That means that there are participants for the pay or dues raffle, so we will still be having the perdue's raffle, and that also means that i can show you guys the painting that i did finish. I know i pinky promised you guys and i did work on it that week i just didn't post a video to show you guys so um if you did donate. I hope that you really like this and if you really like this, i hope you win uh. This is the painting that i did for the breast cancer research foundation, um fundraiser and i i like her. I tried to do a little bit more of like a traditional tattoo style um, and you know it was definitely challenging, but you know i like her. She looks cool, so let's get right on in to the pay your dues raffle for the hooligans help the breast cancer research foundation. Shall we we shall last month we did um something a little different. We used this little app doohickey thing that i really like, because it's much easier than getting out everybody's names individually. It takes forever so uh. As you can see. I have everybody's names loaded up that donated for every twenty dollars that you donated. Your name got put into the doohickey and then um we're gon na go ahead and load that bad boy right up and then we are gon na hit start and we are gon na find out the lucky winner of the payer dues raffle, and that is in Fact, nick nick i'm not sharing your last name because it's private and stuff, but nick you are the lucky winner of the pay, your dues raffle. As a man who had to face the reality of losing my hair, it was liberating to shave it off and create a new look for myself. After I did it, a few friends of mine also decided to shave their heads due to balding, and it felt good to be an example for them that it was okay.
