It’s time! We LOVE Forest’s blonde curls, but it’s way too hot for him in Jakarta, Indonesia. We decided to get him a street haircut. There are tons of barbershops and hair salons in Jakarta, but we were hoping to find a unique experience. After searching the internet, we found what we were looking for: the perfect potong rambut anak-anak! Watch Forest as he gets a haircut out in the open air. We meet lots of families and kids. Afterward, we take an Odong Odong (auto auto) around for a neighborhood tour. I’m sure there are many local barbers like this, but you will have to seek them out. Click the link below if you want to visit Samsudin at his local business called: Pangkas Rambut Batavia. What do you think about Forest’s new look?

#jakarta #Indonesia #haircut

Today, it's all about self-care, and we are here: Forest is gon na get a haircut.. It'S been so hot here in Jakarta these last few days. And we are at a very special stall. Jason Rupp was here and Jason thanks. So much for the lead - And we are here with Samsudin who's, going to give Forest his first street haircut here in Jakarta. All right here, Kel I'll, pass, that., Okay, Forest you'll get a haircut. Okay sir.! So just like a.. trim., [ Jon tries to explain. Trim in Indonesian ]. Here is like it's too long.. It'S on his eyes... You got to like... Okay, sir Forest looks good Yeah the weather's just been so hot and humid. Here in Jakarta.. You can see his head's all types of sweaty., So we just want to get that kind of that layer, off. Kelly's, making friends here. Morning Yeah. I think the key for Forest is just to stay cool. And just taking out some of that... Some of those layers.. Forest looks cute. You do lots of haircuts, sir. I think so. [, Lady ], Can you speak Indonesian, [ Jon ]? No, my Indonesian is still lacking.. I need to learn more Indonesian. [ Jon, interacting with the ladies ]. He gives good haircuts good haircut. You can just see it's really super busy area.. I wonder. Maybe after this we can go, get a little ride from one of those little rickshaws.. What are those called Kel [ Kelly ]? I don't know.. It has the name.., It's like'oondie-oondie' [ Jon ]'oondie-oondie', The bikes Yeah, maybe maybe'oondie-oondie'.. [ Jon greets people. ] Forest. Put your head up here, you go. Yeah, the guy is just taking out the layers. There. You go. In terms of the actual quality of the haircut, remains to be seen.. The guy seems like he knows what he's doing. And if at all goes awry. We'Ll just have them do like a real short buzz cut or something.. Well, you don't want to lose all those little baby curls. You do good Forest, So sleepy so tired.. What'S that called [ Lady ] Odong-odong.? Okay, so we should get a ride on an odong-odong.. Everyone sees Granite, like you know, you guys are being all polite asking for some photos. [ Guy ]. Please sit down. And my family. It's my family. [ Jon ], Okay, yeah, nice family.. What'S your daughter's.. Girl, [ Guy ], It's my daughter. [ Jon ]! What'S her name, [ Guy ] Kanza, two years, old. [, Jon ]! Ah, two okay. Forest is three.. Such a busy street with all these tours. [ Jon greets passerby ]. I wonder if he is under pressure, because you got a whole lot of neighbors out to see his action. A Little cat. Looking good Forest, A little cat ran. Away. You'll see the cat after maybe.. All right here comes the old razor.. Let'S see what's gon na happen, here., I think the haircut's gon na look pretty good and if not you know, the best thing about it is Forest is just three., So he won't know the difference but looks like it's shaping up pretty well here. Wow who's that Cute boy, Cedar, you're next [ Cedar, ] No. [, Jon ]. No, You gon na pass Cedar is trying to grow her hair long. So we'll see how long it gets. This guy's coming along got a nice shape. All right, shaping up the bottom now. [ Samsudin ], So cute. [, Kelly, ], So cute Yeah., [, Jon, ], All right new batteries.! So again the haircut's really shaping up and he's got some nice ... Looks like some nice layers in there.: Wow who's that handsome boy [ Forest grunts, ], [, Jon, ]. Ah, okay, okay., Do you like it Forest [ Forest ], Yeah., [, Jon, ] Kelly. What do you think [ Kelly, ] Yeah? It looks good [, Jon ] Well done [ Kelly ], i like it., Yes, [, Jon, ], All right, sir! Hey Forest Forest. Face daddy All right, all finished Woohoooo [! Everyone is cheering for Forest ], [, Jon ]. All right, thank you, sir [ Kelly, ]. Oh that's! Looking much better. [ Jon ] Yeah much cooler. [ Kelly, ] Much cooler for him. [, Jon ]! That'S a good! Looking haircut! I think he looks great All right, sir. How much is the haircut? How much is haircut Ah, 15? Okay, okay, which one is it [ Samsudin, speaks in Indonesian, ], 10, 15, Ah'anak-anak, ten'., Children, Ah, okay, all right, so ,'anak-anak' is children. All right, so again.. Ooops, I almost lose my own hair., So it'd be IDR 10,000 for the haircut for the guy.. There you go sir. All right, so excellent. Thank you, sir Forest get haircut, [ Kelly, ] Yeah all right, and that is an example of how we do sort of [. Everyone is saying: bye, ], [, Jon ], All right. That is an example of how we do sort of self care on the road. We stopped by in a park like this. All the buddies. [ Jon ], It's okay, [ Guy ], One person; 200 rupiah [, Jon, ], Okay, 200 [ Guy ], 200 rupiah. You pay. [ Jon ] Okay. Pay now [ Guy ], Yeah., [ Jon, ] 500 [ Guy ] For one person, yeah. [, Jon, ]. Okay, I sit here. Oh Granite, come sit here. You go around and sit on the other side.. Okay, yeah you go! Ahead. He's gon na get changed. I'll, be right, there. Don't worry. They're, not leaving me. I promise. He's going to pull over. [ Everyone saying bye, ], [, Guy ], Wait, sir. I pay. [ Jon ] Oay, so we're going to get change kind of from the neighbor. and we'll be able to pay the odong and this guy... I don't really know if it's like a standard cruise or what exactly it is, but everyone's very patient with us, which is good. [. The guy is gibing Jon money, ] [, Jon, ]. Okay. I pay him this All right. Thank you. Sir. Terima kasih.. Okay. So that's only IDR 10,000 to ride this thing. And where is it gon na take us Granite, [, Granite ]. I don't know. [ Jon ], No idea, no idea. Wohoo All right.. So here we go on the odong-odong.. Bye ( see you ) next time. Sir.. Thank you All right and away. We go on the odong-odong. Cool. So what do you think of the weather here in Jakarta versus Papua [ Granite ]? It'S hot. [, Jon ]. It'S way hot., I'm so sweaty, right, now., [, Granite, ], Yeah Timika is very nice and cold. [, Jon, ], Yeah, nice and cold. In here it's pretty hot.. Now again it looks like this guy's just taking us on some kind of set ride.. I'M really glad that the haircut guys were able to tell us the price.. I would have no idea. So 10,000 to ride. And I'm not catching any sort of fumes or anything. But we're gon na enjoy the ride and just sort of see where we end up.. But again, a little cruise to the neighborhood.. You'Ve got all types of uhm.. all types of motorbikes., And this is definitely some rural. Like neighborhood feeling. You're, definitely not going to come down here as a tourist and have this experience. So for us to come and get a haircut from that guy, it's perfect.! Now! Where do we go? I don't know.. It seems like we're. Stopping., Maybe he's waiting for the kids to get out.. Oh people are getting on. Oh maybe this is a hop on hop off service. Okay., So he just gave him 10 000. And it looks like you just take it wherever you want., You hop on hop off.. So I guess we'll just ride until the guy kicks us off and wherever that might be., We'll just grab a Grab or some kind of a taxi to get back to where we want to go after this experience.. But again it's kind of a good way to cruise the neighborhood.. We just turned off one of those side, alleys and now we're at this huge cemetery.. I did not expect to see this on this tour., So it makes me wonder again. If maybe this is not so much touristy, but it does look.., it looks like people would just ride this for a touristy thing., But maybe not., Because usually you wouldn't end up at a big cemetery like this.. That'S pretty great. Cool Granite, Our first Jakarta cemetery. [, Granite, ], Yeah, [, Jon ], It's interesting how.. Oh..! Here we go on both sides. Now. Looks like 2020, so these these are new.. It'S 2007. Wow, Oh and they're all over here.. All these little odong-odongs. Vendors. I bet you can buy flowers there for the cemetery.. Oh man, that's great! There'S a mosque up here.. So definitely in a greenway., Oh, a goat! There'S a bunch of goats! Now. Forest! You see the goats, Oh there's more goats Forest. Do you see the goats [ Forest ] Yeah, it's just right. There Cool. All types of goats at the cemetery.. It looks like we're gon na connect to the main road up there.. So it looks like we're wrapping up the cemetery. Very cool. What did you think of the cemetery [ Granite ], Since there are a lot of animals in the cemetery? It kind of reminded me of the book'Pet Sematary'. [ Jon ]? Ah, yes, Stephen King. Now..You are going into fifth grade. Are you thinking you're ready for Pet Sematary, [ Granite, ], Yeah, [, Jon ], So Stephen King [, Jon greets the villagers, ]? Ah nice little tour and it looks like we're coming back to the main road up here.. We might jump off at that point.. There'S coconut drinks., Certainly a neighborhood for sure. [ Villagers greet Jon ]. Oh here's, a green wall, that's really pretty., So kind of a beautified area for sure.. So that's a good way to wrap up a haircut video. [ Kelly, ] Yeah. That was really fun.. [ Jon ] All right. Well, we enjoyed that a lot. And again that's only IDR 10,000., So 5000. Each! I think, because kids are free, that's what I'm assuming. [ Kelly ]! They call it odong-odong, but then it's like onde ando, ondo.. or something. [ Jon, ], Ondo, ondo ando ando, either way fun [ Kelly ] Either way we need one for the house: hey [, Jon, ] Yeah, all right. Well, I hope you enjoyed that. Forest how's. The haircut bud [ Forest ], Good [, Jon, ] Good bet, you like it., Looks good. All right say: bye, [, Forest ], Byee

Jason Rupp: I'm a subcriber of the Bags Packed Family.

Jason Rupp: This is fun to see an update with Batavia Barbershop from my original video. I'm so pleased you link/credited me as your inspiration for the video. I'm also honored that my picture is in the clock on the wall. ❤️ I still have the ring that I was given by a neighbor there. I have been carrying it with me on my travels. Have a good time everyone!

addiat meikokusuma: I can not believe I spent 17 minutes watching 3 yrs old boy get a hair cut...Well for Forest I will watch a full hour if I have to.. So glad to see Forest in such a good mood...and the hop on hop off ride is called Odong - Odong..not Otto - Otto..Seems a lot of fun for the kids ❤️❤️❤️

_ jen: Good boy, Forest! Looks calm and cool with something he's probably not get used to. Not every kid coud show such a manner, at least that is what I've been seen in Indonesia in my whole life. But Forest seems can handle many new things during the trip (at least on cam ). Great parenting example for many parents!

Muvasah: Forest is so cute and handsome with that haircut, i love that he looks so tired and so happy at the same time

Kawula Jogja: What a lovely video from you guys..just like usual..love it..and love the way you choose to travel with your family by exploring the real life of people all over Indonesia and interacting with them..we're really amazed by your children..even though they are still kids but they always show the positive vibes about everything..they never seem to complain about anything that makes them uncomfortable..for example even though the weather in Jakarta is very hot but they still enjoy and don't complain about that..that's must be the result of their parents' great upbringing..love you guys..

Ade Alfiah: Really love this family who share positive vibes.

Dimas: Your kids are so cute and obedient . Enjoy Jakarta! Cheers

Bungtonce TV: I'm glad you tried that Odong-Odong. it's the best way to explore the neighbourhood that you can't experience as tourists. and yes, Forest's smile makes my heart so warm. Are you still in Jakarta?

Kenzie Sebastian: I hope you can enjoy your trip in Indonesia. and if it is not pleasing to your heart, I apologize. I hope you have a fun adventure and learn a lot about Indonesian food culture and people. greetings to Forest he's a tough kid.
