I'M giving you i dream of genie, i'm giving you ariana hi youtube, i'm minding my own business and today we're going to show you how to do a gorgeous snatched pony. So the thing about a snatch pony is, if you're going to do like wavy pony or you could do like a curly like you could do like your natural curls, but i'm going to do like a sleek straight snatch pony. So i like to get the texture of my hair the way that i'm gon na wan na wear it with my hair up before i put it up, so i mean you could iron your hair a little bit once you get it in the ponytail, but i Think it's like a little harder, so i'm just ironing this hair. Really quick! Oh jesus, kill me! It'S okay! Don'T worry! I'M just gon na use this! I could have like done more perfect sections, but whatever it's, it's fine, so first things. First, when you're gon na do a snatch pony, you need some coffee, then you're gon na need some tools, so you could use a gel. If you wanted to do a gel for your edges, you could use a cream. I love using our air dry cream by jb and hair for this uh. You could also do a hairspray, and, i will say: hairspray is my least favorite like at the end. If you wanted to put a little bit of your of the hairspray like in your hair before you start to snatch it, you could do that which i'm gon na do today. This will help give you a little bit of control um, but i don't like to use it for the flyaways at the very end, because you need to like prep your hair to get good hold. So i just put that through, and i also did that to kind of just like dirty my hair up a little it's hard to put your hair up at a snatch pony. If it's super duper clean and there's no product so definitely make sure that you're like putting some product in your hair to start, then i think i'm gon na do i'm gon na use air dry cream. Today i am a little partial. I just think that this gives such beautiful shine, and i also like the buildable hold that this offers. This has chia seed and linseed in it, which is a natural texture enhancer. It also gives you a buildable hold, so the more you use the more hold you're gon na get. So you can really like layer that in to your snatched pony, so you can see i'm just gon na start to apply that air dry cream in through my hair. I'M gon na want everything to be straight back. If you wanted to do like a part in your snatched pony, you could like section this out and this out much like we did in our messy bun and then you could like do this at the end. But i want everything to go straight back off my face, so i'm gon na need more air dry cream than that, especially underneath my hair. That'S the other thing you got ta get like up underneath your hair, so i'm gon na go underneath and i'm gon na start to push the hair where it's gon na live, which on the underneath is, is up and i'm going to start to take this brush And i'm going to start to like move the hair to where it's going to live. I instantly hate this brush. Okay, so that's like a pretty good amount of product to work from and you're going to start to take your brush you're going to want to start to gather the hair. I like to keep my hand and see how i'm keeping this hand here and i'm brushing the hair to it. Then you can drop the brush, take, get the rest of your hair in your hand, so i've got like all my hair up. In this hand, you can see, we've got these bumps that we need to deal with. So i'm going to take my little sheila stats brush and i'm going to start to brush the hair back together and you can see you've got to release your fingers and then brush it through re-grab and then you're gon na have to start to to. Like put the brush down and then use your hands to make sure that it's really smooth, so then what you can do, if you need a little bit more, you can take the product and squeeze it on your hand, roll up your sleeves, you might work a Sweat thanks queen okay, so the reason i like to put product here is because you can take a brush and dip the brush in the product and then use that to start to exact your hairlines and really get them going backwards. So again, you can and then see how that's like a little wet spot. Don'T even worry, just keep brushing it and it'll work itself into your hair and also at the beginning. You might need to go back through with your like stronger brush, and then you can just take your finger. Put it right on the hair that you need to control, whether that's gel or air dry cream, and you just want to work it into the hair. Now i'm going to want to take this leftover and put it underneath, because i got to get this hair. Can you see that so i'm going to take the brush and i'm going to make sure that all these back hairlines are really gathered? Take a little bit more and you really want to pay special attention to your hairlines, and that means like where your hair starts and the cool thing about air dry cream and just hemi swallowing in general. It absorbs really fast so you'll see that, like you can see it once i put it on, but then it's going to absorb and you're not going to see that cream there. So this is starting to feel quite snatched. This is a time where you can start to just make sure that everything is in place. Okay, that's feeling good! I'M going to do two ponytails to really make it tight. Give me the tension or i don't want it and then i'm gon na take it and just go like that. So any that's feeling super tight. So now is a good time to go through with some more air dry cream. Put that, on the back of your hand, take your little comb and you can come in here and really start to detail your edges. Let'S take it right on the brush. Now i'm going to get this stuff, i'm going to join this back and just really get this slick, so good do some more! This brush is really nice. It i don't know what it does, but it just really gets your hairlines looking clean and well put together. Loving this tension wow, so that's the slick pony then you can just take. If you wanted to, you could take like a little bit of hair and you could hair spray it and then take this if you went in and you could wrap it around, the hair tie you don't have to. But if you feel like it, you could. I love these amazing felt hair pins because they really like stay in your hair. These felt ones honey. I live! Look you literally, i needed two and it's like in there for good, so uh, i'm giving you snatched, i'm giving you i dream of genie, i'm giving you ariana. You must have a brush like this to really slick it back. You must have honestly. I really do think air dry cream is such a great tool for this, not just trying to promote juvian hair all the time you know, i'm can't. Actually, i'm not sorry, it's just really good some sort of cream or gel something to control the hair is a must and i think, putting product in your hair before you start so prepping your hair is the other must, but i am just really could not be Happier with how this turned out, it looks really good just give me them babies as soon as you're doing tonight. You'Re just doing me right close it out. Oh my god, thank you for coming to my ted talk. Here'S the other thing about snatch ponies. There'S a million ways that you can do snatch ponies, there's millions of techniques, there's millions of tips. You could even do a porta pony on this. If you wanted like, if you wanted to put like an extension on this, you could there really is endless tips and tricks, there's no like right ways, wrong ways to each their own and remember that when you're styling, your hair, it's meant to be fun. It is a fun thing: it's an art thing, it's a self-expression thing. So if it's feeling really stressful and a nightmare, just take it down and put it in a little easy low, bun like if you try it out and it's not working it's okay. I do think, though, on this, the most common mistake for snatch ponies is that we aren't putting enough product in the hair before we start, especially if you have thicker hair um or it's harder to control, making sure that you have a lot of product in your Hair before you start is going to help to control those hairlines. You could also do like two ponytails like do half up and then take the back half and do a ponytail right below that one, so you're kind of dividing it into two. Would you guys like to see that comment below um but yeah snatch pony? I love you youtube. I hope this was easy for you. I hope you enjoyed it. Kiki Gilmer: I LOVE seeing you do these "basic" tutorials step by step. I feel like a lot of "tutorials" are like "Step 1: Put up the high pony!! Step 2: Look great!!" So it's always really nice to see the whole process of brushing the hair up and getting it sleek and *also* looking great!!

Jared Craft: Love how easy this is. Such helpful tips.

Kara Talks about Stuff: "I could've like done more perfect sections, but, whatever. It's fine." I like hearing this, because my personal hair care motto often reduces to "Whatever. It's fine."

Kate Hehl: Love this! Some tricks I've found that work (years of competitive gym, dance and cheer - JVN you know!).. I section my hair into a half up pony first (2 elastics), then I add the remaining hair underneath to the half up pony (2 more elastics). Stays all day and night and you get that super snatched lift. I have always used a circular blow out brush with hard bristles (could never find that awesome brush you have!) which gives that polished look as well. If you want even more lift, place two bobby bins vertically underneath your pony. Instant mega-lift! Thanks for the tutorials JVN!

karen balla: I would love to see the double ponytail look!

Melissa Thayne: Yea please more style tutorials. I’m 37 and it’s about time I get my ragtop together! Thank you!

One Canadian B: Yes bb so stun! I have the air dry cream so definitely going to try this with the toothbrush comb, that seems like a game changer. I use bungee elastics to get a really good hold on my high pony because I have a lot of long hair so it’s heavy and falls easily and the bungee really keeps it in place. Need to find these felt hair pins! Thanks for the tutes

MSK: I loooove the way that looks! My hair isn’t long enough for it, but I’m def going to use your trick to smooth edges- my hair is so unruly and looks fuzzy around the edges.

San Johnson: Cute, easy and fun

Karley J Stevens: You make me actually want to do my hair, and I strongly dislike doing my own hair !!!!!!

Shaina Ann: The air dry cream is a god sent I love it so much. I hate the old school crunchy feeling of hairspray and other gels. I seriously need that little brush and the bobby pins. My hair is long and fine. Shes a hassle lol. Thank you for being such a great hair teacher.

Caroline Elizabeth: Does the air dry cream leave your hair feeling greasy? This mama has very fine hair that very quickly can look greasy from product...but also, I LOVE your stuff and just started with your shampoo + conditioner + scalp oil and would love to add another product from you into the mix!

Roxanne Mongeon: I just love you so much JVN. I saw you and your hubby one day at Whole Foods in ATX and y’all were so cute! I tried so hard not to stare but I did here him call the shopping cart a trolly and I almost passed away

Shade: Is it silly that I still watched this even though I have very short hair at the moment? I just love all your content. I was wondering where to get those little flat, white sticks that you use for picking up product sometimes? I asked my hairstylist last time I went and she said she didn't know where to get them or what they were called. I would love to get my hands on some!

Jenny Allen: You’re giving me serotonin ❤️

Anna D: Question…so post baby I had a TON of hair loss… finally have a bunch of regrowth and hairline has begun returning to normal. Any suggestions for forgiving hairstyles/up styles that don’t stress out hair? It’s hot as heck so wearing hair down, no thank you ‍️

Kr Gr: Yes! Give us the double pony!!

Rowan Crane: JVN: "We're really gonna get this slick and take care of those bumps." Me, with 4 distinct cowlicks that are driving my stylist into an early grave: "Hahah. Ahahaha"

Junior Corrello: Amo aprender Inglês com o Jonathan...

Luma Naughty: You should do a beard trimming tutorial love your videos!!

Abigail Hake: My inner cheerleader is screaming and high kicking for this pony!

sidhedanu: I love high ponytails but they give me headaches. My pony circumference is 4.5 inches and it's waist length, which is the shortest it can be if I want to be able to bun it with a hairstick. Do you have any opinions on how to handle Caucasian hair that is extremely thick and stubborn? It doesn't really cooperate with curling irons and hairspray/gel/you-name-it. It has lots of pretty waves when wet and has about 3-4 barely there large waves when dry.

Joline GutierrezKrueger: God, your hair is beautiful.

Lizard Queen: How do I get a snatched pony without breakage? I’ve had these tiny 2-3 inch flyaways along my scalp for yeeeeaaarrrs. My hairdresser told me it was due to bleach, but that was like 4 years ago and I now have a full head of virgin hair. I still have those tiny hairs. And I only use heat about once a week, with protectant. So I think it’s the pony sucks because I work in healthcare and need my hair pulled off my face, neck, and shoulders.

Linda Love: Double pony video? Yes please!

Sabrina A: Yes 2 pony tails tutorial please. My pony is so saggy

Stephanie Brock: This video makes we want my long hair back but i also really enjoy my bob style - so I am torn

Emma Washington: I love this style but it always gives me headaches!

Courtikarp: Step 1: Coffee. Regardless of what you’re about to do. Ah, finally a person who truly understands me.

dra.elenagcanal: Any news on when we'll have your products available In Spain ? Thank you & love you!!

Courtney Smith: Me with my short bob now wishing I had long enough hair

peachy: Jonathan is the fashion baby of Jesus cawffee * coffee * is a must! ( my New York accent)

Regina Rojas: Snatched to the Gods ♥️♥️

I know it has just lunched but is there any hope you might consider a redesign in future. Bought the trial size, love but ... <3 thank you for hearing xoxo
