Easy Sleek Long Ponytail Hairstyle *Beginner Friendly Tutorial*

This sleek high ponytail is so easy to achieve! I love switching it up from a sleek bun to this more luxurious and elegant long high ponytail. I used the @Glam Seamless 22" Invisi Ponytail in Natural Black. :) These were gifted to me but they are such a game changer and so beginner friendly.

Hi everyone welcome to my channel today, i'm going to be showing you guys how i achieved this sleek long, curly ponytail look something a little bit different for my channel. I don't normally do hair tutorials, but i was recently gifted some extensions from glam seamless and i honestly have been loving them. So much. I'Ve specifically been loving the ponytails, because i usually wear my hair in like a slick bun, and i don't really wear my hair in ponytails, because i don't have a lot of hair. My hair is not very thick or long, so it just kind of looks a little lackluster when i put it in a ponytail, but with this it is so easy to install and so easy to just really bring your look to the next level. So i thought i would show you guys how i've been styling, my hair and this sleek ponytail look, but before i show you how i did this look, i would love it if you could give this video a thumbs up hit. The subscribe button turn the bell notification on. It would really mean a lot to me and it would really support my channel so without further ado, let's get into the tutorial okay so to hop into the tutorial. I just want to say i am not a hair stylist, i'm not particularly talented at doing hair. So with that being said, if i can do this, then so can you so to get started? The first thing that i do is generally, i start with hair. That is a few days old, like maybe three or four, i think is ideal. I know to some people that might seem like a lot to me. I usually wash my hair every three or four days, so this is kind of a last day hairstyle. However, my hair is currently second day hair. I just had my hair washed. Yesterday um, i got my hair cut yesterday, shout out to my hairdresser armanei. She did such an amazing job. I just i tried to do this yesterday. Actually - and it broke my heart to like ruin my freshly done hair - i tried to do this tutorial. I didn't have enough time um, but yeah. This is just kind of left over slept on hair, nothing crazy and i'm going to show you guys how i slick it back. So the first thing i do is, i take a little spray bottle with a little bit of water, and i just dampen my hair and honestly, you could use gel for this step. The reason i'm not using gel is because i haven't found a gel that works. Well for me, so if you have a recommendation for gel, please leave it in the comments down below. I would love to try a gel. Basically, i'm just going to really focus on wetting the front part, and also what my the roots of my hair and then i kind of add more water as i go. If i need so the next thing, when i sleek my hair, i always use a thick bristle brush. I think i just got this one at winners or something and yeah it's just really essential to getting that slicked. Look. I'Ve gone many years without having this brush and i will tell you this brush changed the game for me. I think you need this brush. If you like slick hairstyles, it will save you a lot of time. Headache just get yourself, one of these and so yeah. I just start brushing my hair back okay, so i just kind of quickly brush it back. I just realized. I forgot um, the first step that i do normally is. I part my hair. I already had my hair parted before, but i just used like a little rat tail comb like this and you can part your hair. However, you want i've, seen people um do middle parts like this i've seen people do no part and sleek at all back side. Part, you name it just part, your hair, how you like, or how you normally wear it. I like mine right down the middle. Normally, now i'm just going to scoop my hair back and kind of hold it in place. Where i roughly want my braid, i think i want it to be right. There kind of just right in the center of the back of my head and i'm going to brush it and sleek it um. I'M going to spray some hairspray in to help this, since i'm not using gel, i'm just going to continue to kind of like hairspray and sleek, so i'll kind of just move in sections. I roughly did that side. Now i'm going to do this side, then i'm going to do the back all right, so i think that's looking pretty good, i'm just going to secure that in place. For now, with a hair elastic my arms get so tired doing this hairstyle it hurts so bad. So another reason why yesterday honestly didn't work out is because i did an arm workout the day before, and my arms were so sore and i was trying to do this hairstyle and it was taking me so long and i was like making mistakes, and i had To retry my arms were just like dead, they were dying, they could go no longer so yeah. That'S why i didn't work out. That'S why we're trying again today update my arms, still hurt uh, but not as bad. On that note, you will likely, if you haven't done this hairstyle, you will need practice. So just give yourself some patience. Give yourself some grace, yeah little disclaimer be patient. Practice makes perfect. Okay. So now i'm gon na go in with this little brush. I got on amazon, it is like a multi-tool, so it has like a little comb on this side, a bigger one on this side and then some bristles on the side. Um. Usually when i put my hair in the ponytail, it's not 100 perfect. There'S still some hairs to slick down or, like i don't know if you guys can see, but on top here i have like a little notch of uneven hair. That stuff drives me nuts, so i'm going to try and smooth it out with this little brush and if it doesn't work, i might have to redo this or i'll just control myself and just embrace the imperfections anyways you're going to use hairspray and this little brush To just fix everything i think that looks decent honestly at this point, i'm not going to stress too much about getting it perfect because we're still going to clip in the ponytail things may get a little bit moved around and we might need to touch up later. So i'm going to leave it like this and move on to the fun part all right, so this is the ponytail that i'm going to be using today. This is from glam seamless and they so kindly sent me a bunch of hair extensions and i've been loving. The ponytails this one is the natural black and busy ponytail in the length 22, and if i'm not mistaken, they come with three different lengths. I believe they come in a 16 inch, a 22 inch and a 26 inch. So this one's kind of right in the middle, which is perfect for me, i didn't want anything too too long. I just want to get that long, luscious effect, so this definitely gives me that so you take it out of the box and it comes in a little hair net. I like to store mine in the hair net, just to make sure it stays protected at all times, and then you just take it out of the hair net and there you have your ponytail. It is so soft, and why am i like? Choking myself with a ponytail um, it's so soft and luscious and yeah very easy to use. Surprisingly, like i said earlier, like i don't do hair very well, i'm no master! I like easy hairstyles. I slick my hair and that's about it. So, if i can do this, you really can do this too. I promise anyways i like to brush my ponytail before putting it in just like this all right and i think what i'm going to do is i'm actually going to put another elastic over the one. I have in my hair just for extra strength, because i do find that since i have such thin hair the ponytails, sometimes don't you hate when that happens. Anyways like i was saying my hair. Sometimes it's it's really thin, and quite straight so i feel like the ponytails can be a little heavy and kind of like weigh down the ponytails and, like the clip, can kind of lift a little bit and then it starts to honestly i'm so bad. At talking and doing things at the same time, so if, during this video i seem like i'm disengaged from the camera and like hyper focused on what i'm doing, that's because i am like i focus on what i'm doing, especially when it's hair, because you know i Want to get it perfect, you know so yeah. I just find when i have one ponytail in it's not quite enough to like hold the clip in place, since i don't have a lot of like i don't know what the word is like my hair doesn't hold on to things very well, just because it's very Thin and like kind of silky and straight so things just fall out, i'm so sorry for not making any sense anyways moving forward with the installment of the hair, um you're just going to want to make sure it is brushed, and you have the clip right here Where my thumb is the clip is there and i'm going to just firmly place it right behind my ponytail just like so so, since this is velcro, i'm just going to really tightly secure the velcro around the base of my ponytail, and you want to make sure This is quite tight. Alright, so the hair comes with a little shorter piece to wrap around the base of your ponytail. So i'm just going to do that now. So i'm just going to wrap this piece of hair around the base of my ponytail just to cover where we clipped it in, so that it looks natural and blends with the rest of our head again, i like to do this pretty tight, just like hold everything In place really well and then once you've done, that you're just going to bobby, pin it in place. So once i have my ponytail in i'm going to take my ghd hair curler and i'm going to curl the ponytail, i don't actually know how big this one is. I think it's about an inch or an inch and a half, but i'm just going to start taking sections and curling them when i curl it, i'm just going to hold it in my hand for a second before i let it down and the curl is going To look just like that, and i'm just going to flip all the pieces that have curled to the back of my head, i'm just going to continue doing that in alternate directions. I'M going to curl in alternate directions each time and i'm going to make sure. I have a little bit of my natural hair in with every piece as well all right, so once you've curled the whole ponytail you're just going to want to finish it with a hairspray and then i'm just going to wait for it to completely cool down before I brush it out and smooth it out all right, so my hair has completely cooled down. I'M just going to brush it out using a hair brush really quickly and i'm just going to brush out the ends just to soften up the curls a little bit all right, and that is it for my curly long ponytail look. I hope you guys enjoyed this tutorial. I don't usually do hair tutorials, but i was really excited about these new extensions and i've been really just loving them for something a little different. I usually wear my hair in a slick bun, so having a long slick ponytail. Just makes me feel so pretty and extra and done up if you guys, like this hair tutorial, give this video a thumbs up and hit the subscribe button. Thank you so much for watching and i hope to see you next time. Bye,
