Thank you Epidemic Sound for the lovely music, get your own music: epidemicsound.com

But you have to do it like this, so that it's really good so that they can see you okay, come on slowly off camera. Okay, do you watch euphoria? Yes, isn't there a storyline where, like one of the people like diddles one of the teachers, what i read that online um i haven't finished watching season two. Yet, oh, so i'm not sure. Did you spoil it? You said you watched it. Sarah, i am watching it. I'M in process of watching it right now, yeah does it make you want to just like do drugs and be a teenager um? No, not that far. Oh, i just enjoy watching it. I don't know if i'd like very creative thing was like about drugs and teenagers. It'S about coming of age. What else is that about um amazing hairstyles? Really, yes, way to bring it back to the subject at hand, so we're gon na recreate who's ponytail today, sydney sweeney's, look! We are coming for you, sydney but like in a good way, because we're obsessed with you, you are the moment, we're obsessed with you, but you're also forever, and what that look has is waves and what waves has a lot of times is heat styling and what Heat styling needs is what protection protection for our our lives lives. Okay, so the first thing we're going to do is we're going to prep your hair for the heat styling. So right before we started, you had said that you flat ironed your naturally straight hair. Yes, whoopsie, that's live youtube for us, so what i'm going to do is i'm just going to mist a little bit of ocean, i'm just going to mist a little bit of water. Then i'm going to add our instant recovery serum now. Does your hair hold a curl very? Well, i'm not the best. Okay, it can last a little bit, i'm going to put instant recovery serum in first. This is going to protect your hair from the heat and then i'm actually going to do like a rule. Breaker thing: if your hair is a little bit straight and it doesn't hold a curl as well, air dry cream is actually going to help your hair hold a curl a little bit better. This much team so not too much. I'M just going to rub it between my hands and i'm going to start on like the mid lengths and ends of your hair and then work it through my fingers all the way throughout your hair. That'S just going to give me a little bit of control, so i'm just working the air dry cream and instant recovery serum into your hair, because really instant recovery, serum that won't make your hair have any more weight. It only protects it like from the heat, and it just gives it good nutrition, but it doesn't ever get greasy and then the air dry cream is just going to give you gorgeous shine and give you enhanced texture. So i'm just going to come through i'm actually going to switch to this metal brush. The metal brush tends to leave a little bit more texture and wave in the hair. Is it an earthquake in tejas? Has there ever been an earthquake in texas? The whole thing with like the 90s pony is that we're like totally leaving like the front out nowadays. Well back in the 90s, i mean okay. These are gon na, be the little pieces that we leave out of her hair because we're going to do those kind of at the end. But in the meantime, we need to give texture to, like all the rest of this hair for those waves and i'm just going to curl from the top of the head working. My way down so you're going to see when i curl her hair. I'M going to leave the ends out so see how her ends are not in the curling iron right now, and it's just the top and then i'm going to keep turning it so that the ends are out. The reason you want to leave the ends out is that they've been on the head the longest and they need the least heat. The ends are going to take the curl better, because they're typically more damaged, whereas the newer hair is less damaged. So it needs like the longest heat, so i have all the ends now and i'm just going to release that from the iron wrap it around my fingers and we're gon na clip it clipping. It is just gon na set the hair so that it retains the curl a lot more kind of aggressively. So when you're gon na clip the hair for anything, you want to kind of clip it in the direction that it's going to end up in, and so since this hair is going to be going back, i'm going to curl it back and away from her face. The more sections you do, the curlier it's going to be, and so typically around the face. I like it to do like more sections. That'Ll make the hair seem fuller when you're putting it back and then, as you work your way back, you can start to do like bigger sections. They don't have to be quite as small for this one. I'M gon na go kind of underneath and then do you see how i have it more like um a ribbon instead of a shoelace, so i'm not like twisting the ends, i'm keeping them nice and like flat like a ribbon. So, what's your favorite thing about this whole 90s resurgence that's going on! Well, i think for me the fun thing about like the older i get, the more you realize that, like all of these hairstyles, are just like different different applications of like very similar techniques. So again, we're going to start from the middle of the hair section we're curling. These are her ends. Yes, so we're all up here like on the top of her scalp. Yes, the ends are still out. Those ends. Don'T need to see the heat this healthier hair needs the heat, a really important thing for ponytails turning out good as well is putting product in while it's like down. Because that's what gives you the control, the air dry cream, because it's a texture, enhancer! That'S going to kind of give her hair something to grip on to, and it's going to help to keep the flyaways at bay. And it's just going to make you not have to fight so hard as you're putting the hair up so question for someone who doesn't know too much about taking care of their hair. What'S the most important part sleeping with your hair up is really important so that you're, not sleeping like with your ends like down on your body heat every single night, um it'll also help your hair like get way less tangly and pissed. So do you put it like in a bun, a very loose top bun on top of your head uh? So, and you don't want there to be a lot of tension either because, like you, don't want to like create like breakage around your hairline, so you just. I do like a silk scrunchie and i just sleep with it like loosely kind of piled on top of my head. Using a silicone, free, shampoo and conditioner is really important. Silicone is just like a really heavy on the hair. It like weighs the hair down from the outside, and it doesn't really address any of the issues of like dry or fragile hair, and it also makes it so that, like other good ingredients, kind of can't penetrate the hair shaft, because it's got like all this. Like silicone buildup on it, i feel, like i'm learning so much right now, just hearing you, oh yeah, yeah yeah. I was just like the type of person to put like shampoo and conditioner and call it a day. Can i ask like what's the worst hair mistake? You'Ve made or like your worst hair day that you've had i've had a lot of weird hair days. My asymmetrical fauxhawk from hair school was like a major look. I need to find a picture. Oh my gosh uh yeah. I had like swoopy fringe with an asymmetrical fauxhawk and then like a rat tail all at once. Yeah and the middle of the asymmetrical fauxhawk was bleach and toned, and then i put like every single like bright color on it. So it was like orange, pink, yellow, green blue coral teal, like a mill like i did like teeny little sections so then back then i smoked cigarettes, so i was trying to light a cigarette over the stove because i couldn't find a lighter. Oh my gosh and i had a gas stove, so i was bent over the stove. I had the cigarette my mouth and i was trying to like stick through to the thing to light it yeah and this flame literally jumped from the stove and singed my whole fringe right off. My head just clean, took it straight to the scalp, just like. Oh, my god, so i had to buzz all my hair off. Were you okay? Like did you? I was fine. No, my hair was like so thick and like lush. So now you can see. Is i go to the back i'm getting into like bigger sections? If you're just kind of like willy-nilly, like not using sections, it's really easy to get lost in the style, but sectioning keeps it like organized and allows you to like see where you're going so we're just setting our lives away over here. You would do this on your hair, like on day one right then day, two after sleeping with your hair up you wake up. You would do this kind of 90s pony on day two hair, but your hair was already curled from the day before, which is the thing that very gorgeous gorgeous girls do actually gorgeous gorgeous people, because i do that too. This could be the look in itself, though right it's pretty right, it's not your fault. So now i'm going to take these out in the order that i put them in so i started over here when you're taking the curls out. If there's any warmth, it's not done cooling, you want it to feel like really like cool like to the touch. I do just feel, though, that she's got a little bit of backcombing right here. I feel like there's like a little bit of texture, so i'm just going to come in with my handy dandy, comb, i'm teasing the roots, so i'm like you, make a little c and you're just packing the hair right on the scalp. So that's just making a little pillow and then what you do is you just take your comb. You can like smooth out a little bit of what you put in. You can really see the difference on that one right and then you just kind of like smooth out the top of it. So that's how we do that now, i'm going to come over on this side, so it doesn't get jealous, that's very important! So just so, you can see from what we were working with from before to now. That is quite a transformation of the set. So now just to balance this style, i'm going to do two more sections of backcombing. Another important thing to remember about teasing is you want even tension on on what you're holding up here see how like there's like uneven tension? You want even tension, but have you seen erin brockovich? No, is this something that was a prerequisite? It has the best takedowns of like any movie of all time. Do you know like it's the best takedowns? Should you, google, some jared and then recite them off camera? So what i've done is i've taken a little bit more air dry cream and i'm just gon na scrunch this into some of those waves just to give it a little bit more texture enhancement. Can you do the one about numbers which number would you like, rita her four kids and zero as a amount of times? You'Ll probably call my number you, okay, so i'm just moving it up. So we love a 90s pony, that's up there and is bouncy, but you're gon na see. I need more control, so i'm gon na take this air dry cream. I'M gon na pour some on my hand right there. I'M gon na take it and i'm gon na put it a big clump in your hair that just went in there. I was gon na put this on your hairline to kind of control. This side just pile it right on there. So then, just take your brush work it through distribute that product throughout and look at how nice that looks ugh. Yes, sarah. What were you gon na say before you hesitated? I was gon na say so now, i'm gon na flip that through and i'm just gon na pull a little bit of this front pieces out or up to give it a little bit more texture right here. You could also tease this part too, so i'm just going to take her ponytail and i'm just gon na tease all of that to make it a little bigger and these come through, and you just take your little brush and you brush through that teasing. But now who could forget those front wavy chunks? Does she actually have four four one and two and one in two? That is not four chunks yeah one, two three four: that is not what that is jared with your buzzed ass head. Let me show you: this is literally one section of hair, it's just in two pieces, but still two sections uh. Okay, i was, i meant to say four pieces, okay, so heroes. Let me show you there look, look how just that looks. Yeah there you go. You did so good, it looks so pretty didn't. I do good, yes, sydney, sweeney, who thank you so much for coming to our youtube channel. Sarah. Did you have fun? Yes, thank you so much i had so much fun like subscribe. My ass hit is bell notification and then you get a push notification right on your phone look. Should we go? Take our flirty ponies to go like steal, someone's math teacher? Yes, i think come on. Let'S go okay! Yeah! We have to john tops: okay, okay, okay, but you have to do it like this, so that it's really bad so that they can see you okay, come on slowly on camera. Okay, you

By the time I finish my last section, my first sections are flat again. Is my hair just too heavy? When I go to the salon, my hairstylist can curl it and it lasts for DAYS. I don’t know what I’m doin wrong
