One hey guys: it's erica welcome back to my channel. So today we are doing a ponytail tutorial and it's not really a tutorial, because this ponytail is not perfect in any way shape or form, but we are going to continue and you get the idea. So first thing i'm going to do is just start off with my hair. This is how i have worn my hair to work that day, so i'm just going to take out my little ponytail and um, i'm just basically like finger detangling at that point and taking my rubber band off, so i can refresh my hair um. This is what i would do if i was getting ready to actually really wear this ponytail out in public um. So, just just so you guys know this is my first time ever trying one of these types of ponytails, so it did not come out how i had planned. So i'm just spraying my hair to get it nice and wet because you know if you want a sleek ponytail, your hair has to be wet and you got to do your gel, which i didn't show the gel i used. But in this video i just used the gold eco styler gel, which is like flaxseed black, castor oil, olive oil. Shea butter, like it's, the one with all of them mixed together, and so i put that in my hair. But for some reason i didn't film. That part, i don't know what happened but anyway. So then i'm just going to put my hair in a ponytail and mind you. My hair is not as slick as it could have been. If i had did it in sections and then you know, did it in a bun or in a ponytail, but i don't ever do that. I'M not even going to try and act like i do that on my everyday basis, because i don't i literally just slick my hair back, like you just saw put gel on top and call it a day. So one day i will do the super sleek. Look by doing it in sections, but i do not feel like doing that and my edges were already kind of done from how i wore my hair at work that day. So then, i'm just going to take my hair and lazily make it into a one, big plait and i say lazily because i did not detangle this and, like you know, you know how, when you just detangle your little ponytail first and then apply it. I didn't do that. I literally just plaited it and then i'm putting a rubber band on it to make it secure so that i can stick this ponytail right on top. So that's what i did. It actually wasn't perfect and i redid it off camera. But that's how it looks. It'S basically look the same, but i just made sure it was a little bit tighter and then i'm gelling down that front part of my edges with the eben or eben edge control, which i just recently bought at the beauty supply store, and i love it. It actually holds my edges down all day long, because i was trying to get away from using the got2b glue gel on my edges, so i actually got some actual edge control. So this is what the ponytail looks like. It has that side piece that you wrap around the ponytail and honestly um. This was my first time ever doing a ponytail like this, so i was not experienced, but what you're supposed to do is take the comb and place it into your ponytail. Like you see me doing, which i, if you're going to wear this out in public, i would bobby pin this some type of way, which i didn't do for the video because, like i said this was my first time really trying to do a ponytail like this, Because normally i just do drawstring ponytails, but i really wanted to try these, because these just look so much more natural once you get the hang of them, they actually look really good. But it's going to take me a minute honestly to get this to look how i want it to look. I'M gon na have to do it a few more times, but anyway, you're just gon na place that bobby pin in your ponytail and just start wrapping the hair around the base and making sure that the tracks are right at the edge of your ponytail, which i Kind of failed to do and, like i said my hair, wasn't super slick like it should have been so at the end of this video. It'S not as smooth as i would like it to be, but anyway we're just trying to show you the ponytail anyway. So i'm just going to keep wrapping it around, which doesn't take too long to do, but then you're going to be tired, like i was so then you're just going to get back to it once you give your arms a break because i don't know about y'all, But my arms are on fire when i do my hair, which is why i just don't, do it like this? I do ponytails because i just my arms are weak. I'M weak so now you're just going to see me taking that long piece that was on the outer side and wrapping it around. You will see people take the got2b glue, free spray and secure this, but i didn't want to do that because, like i said, i was just doing it for this video and i didn't want to waste freeze spray on synthetic hair because it just sounds like a Disaster to me, because the ponytail is already synthetic, so it ain't going to last forever. So then, i'm just going to bobby pin that in place just to make sure and apologize for me watching. I was watching sons of anarchy while i was doing my hair. So that's why i'm looking out to the side, but anyway, i'm just going to bobby, pin it again just to make sure it's secure, and that is it. These ponytails are really easy to do like you might not get it as super smooth. The first time i honestly could have redone this over, but i was happy with how it came out because it's my first time doing it. So this is how it looks so far. It actually looks really natural. I should have made my bun a little bit smaller, but that's kind of hard to do when your hair is continually growing but anyway. So i hope you guys like this is how it looks with all my makeup and stuff done: super easy and yeah. So that's it for the tutorial. I will have a link down to this ponytail below.
