Hey guys, it's laurie back at it again by god's grace, it's your first time tuning in hi. Welcome to my channel. My name is larissa so in this video i'm going to show you guys how i was able to achieve this super sleek, contrasting ponytail with my natural hair. So if you got type 4 natural hair, this is for you, so this hairstyle is extremely affordable, very easy to achieve really quick and most of all, it's extremely extremely cute as f. So if you want to know how i achieve this, just keep on watching. Okay, so hi. This is me, so that was my hair before not my hair after i shared it, it literally only has leave-in conditioner in it. So what you want to do first is separate your hair and go try it and the easiest way of doing this is to separate your hair in four section or how many sections your hair requires. So i separated my hair into four sections and then i'm going to cover my hair with a heat protectant, because it's super super important that you apply heat protectant when you're applying heat to your hair to avoid heat damage. So i'm making sure each strand of my hair is covered. Now, i'm using this amazing amazing um brush from revlon this one, my holy grail brush. I love this brush, i'm using this brush to basically blow dry. My hair doing this saves me a lot of time. I'Ve cut back a lot of time on blow drying. My hair, when i need to doing this, basically allows your hair to be sleek down pretty well once it's time to sleek up your hair, and by doing this you even use less products. So the straighter sleeker, your hair is blow dry, the less product you need to use and the more sleek looking your ponytail will look so basically to ensure that my whole head is sleek down. I repeat the same process all throughout with the different sections in my hair. I really make sure the serum really penetrates each hair strand and i tied i tied up the hair that i already blow-dried just to concentrate on the hair that i haven't blow-dried and i make sure i thoroughly blow-dry it and i pull it. And, of course, i don't worry about um heat damage because, like i said, i protected my hair and i also don't apply heat to my hair every day. This method actually allows you not to put heat in your hair every day, because you would have already sleep down your hair enough for it not to be needed heat again. If that makes sense. What i really love about this brush is that you can literally adjust the heat temperature on the brush. You can even use cool air instead of hot air, and i was using a medium kind of hair, but it's literally up to you. I could have like not even use heat protectant, but i decided to just in case because the air i was using was kind of like cool better than hot. So once i was done with both sides, i started um sectioning, my hair in two sections to tie a ponytail doing this also ensures you get a really super sleek ponytail. So, as you can see, i'm dividing my hair into two sections, one at the top and one at the bottom. Basically, the line in the back does not have to be straight, but you can make it straight if you're like really anal about it. Next you'll want to use a gel or wax of your choice, apply some gel on the back of your head as much as you need not too much, but literally you you'll know when you need to stop, but enough apply just enough for your hair and then You want to use a hard brush just to brush up your hair and then on top of that to smooth it out. You may use a comb. You basically want to put up your hair in a ponytail while still spreading the product, so it stays there, and this is where you basically decide how high or low you want your ponytail to be so next, you attack the front. So you do the same thing where, if you need to section your hair, you section off and then you use the product to sleek up or sleep down, sleek up your hair and you apply as much as you need to, and you basically also use the hard Comb again to brush it up, i really suck at explaining, but i i hope by looking at the screen, you kind of have an idea of what i mean and yes, it is extremely exhausting for your arms, but you got ta, do what you got ta. Do man and the end result is literally amazing and so satisfying so yeah as you can see, i'm using the hard brush just to make sure that each strand of the hair is literally just smashed down. Okay now, this part is extremely important. Basically, you want to make sure you tie your hair into a really small bun and either braided or twisted. So it's really super small and if you feel like you need to sleep down your hair again. Do that because i feel, like i didn't add enough. So you want to make sure your hair is super super super laid back and sleek. Depending on how long you want your hairdo to last, you may use a stronger gel. I decided to use just a little bit amount. I got to be it's nice, it's necessary, but if you want your hairdo to last really long and you won't have to apply gel again and again, i recommend you use a stronger gel on top of what you already have so now that my hair is all Sleek and then i'm going to go to bed just kidding. You obviously want to lay all of that down and make sure that your hair is basically smashed. I don't know i keep saying smash down, but if you're not playing going out - and it was night time - i decided to wrap my hair up - you may use whatever you have at home to wrap your hair up. I used a scarf and a makeup thingy and it worked out fine, but if you have something else like those wrap it up sheets, you can find on instagram go for it while amazon, so on top of that whole mess i put on my bonnet and then I was ready for bed, so this is the next morning, as you can see, my hair is pretty laid down and sleek down thanks to the gel and the wax that i used so on to the ponytail. The ponytail that i use is the instant ponytail um. By sensational it is a 30 inch. French wave ponytail, yes, 30 inch um. I got the color t1 over 30b. I believe so it has a comb and with the comb you basically tuck in the first cone on top of your bun, and you really make sure it's secured and then there's another comb at the bottom and you won't insert that underneath your bun. So this way it secures the ponytail on top of your bun and there's a drawstring since it's called a drawstring ponytail, and you want to pull on the string. You want to pull as hard as you can tolerate. If that makes sense, don't pull too hard? You can't pull too hard. You want to pull just hard enough for it to be secured, and basically, if you wish, you could leave your ponytail just like that. But if you wish also, you may want to hide the drawstring string. I personally don't like doing that method because, like i just don't mind, i'm hiding it another way, so i just decided to just um leave it like that and basically tuck away the drawstring, like i'm doing on the string on the screen right now. So you want to fluff it up a bit, make it your liking and yeah. Next, it's time for the edges. Obviously you got ta lay them edges. So at first i'm just you know, combing my edges out and then i'm using um the red one black wax and i'm just slicking down my edges, and this is like my favorite step out of everything. This is my favorite step. I find it so peaceful to watch people like sleep down their edges. So obviously, when you're done with that, you want to lay down your edges, so they don't budge. You know what i'm saying so: i'm using this blue scarf and i'm basically laying down my edges and doing that will ensure that they stay in place and intact. This next step is optional. Af, i'm just bringing a bit of got to be um freeze spray because i was going to you know, keep this hairdo for a while. This basically ensures that your hair does not budge for a few days. Man. This is amazing, but but obviously it's not necessary and it's completely optional so once again to make sure nothing moves and you lock in the little spray you did. You want to wrap your head. You just love the way i wrap my head man anyways. Now, i'm basically done. I did a little bit of makeup and i'm taking down my hair and sometimes your edges may budge a little bit while i was doing my makeup like it happens, so you can just fix it and then, when you fix it, boom you're done check out my Hair hope you guys enjoy this video, don't forget to like comment subscribe, follow me on instagram and on snapchat and on twitter hope to catch you guys in my next video bye,
