What does this entail dedication? I tell people, even if I teach you how to braid or how to lay wiggle out of makeup and give people all your secrets. You cannot give people dedication how to grow your home business. The fact that you work from home doesn't reduce your worth in any way. Let'S put away the mindset that when people work from home it takes the value down, it does not take anything out of your value, so it depends on how much worth you place on yourself and your service. You can grow your business from home in a lot of ways and you have a lot to do if you project yourself as oh. I work from my home, I'm just putting a chair here. Oh I'm just doing this, they will take you the same way, but if you project yourself as being professional, they will pay you your worth. You will get your worth, so I always tell people that my prices are more expensive than the prices and the salon for some reason. I'Ll probably make another video on that. How to price your service, the pricing and everything. When I make that video a good highlight. Um the reasons why my prices are more expensive than being in the salon and some people take it. I mean the world is a large Place. Many will love you. Many won't whether you have cheaper. Some people won't come to you because your prices are too cheap. Some clients won't come to you because you're too cheap, which is that cheap, maybe she doesn't really know what she's doing human psychology some people won't take it if it's too cheap. So it depends on what you're targeting and what your target audience is. If you're targeting cheap, you will get it the target luxury. I call my braids luxury braids, it's because that's how I see it and I project that most times, sales is based on sentiments and emotions. It'S not because they, like your face, or whatever people buy, based on what you project and how you carry yourself. So I'm going to mention five things you can do to ensure that your own business is up to par. I always say that some clients that come to me would never go back to the salon. I have been in the salon. I was in the salon for years and I know the craziness that happens in the salon. I know and that's why I maintain their own business for a little while I will eventually have to get out of the house or something, but until I figure out how to make the salon a respectable and insane place in all my years of braiding. I have never. I have never had issues with clients like shouting calling the police. You know a lot of things happen in the salon and sometimes come to me just because of that people want to be safe. They want their peace, that's a video for another day. So the first thing you can do when you run a home business is to be intentional. I'M going to be looking at my notes in case I look down, be intentional. You know when, when something is intentional, you go about it in specific ways. I'M gon na still get to that point, but when I have a client, my kids know that I have a client. It'S not time to move around. You know, being intentional is another topic entirely when you're intentional about something you focused, you don't play around and these things reflect, maybe our character or the way we go about things reflect on so many things. It'S like working a paid job when you work a paid job, you don't that's why people are giving points or people are sent home or giving queries for coming late or for not showing up at work. You can't just not show about work, it means you're focused. It means that thing is a very deep topic, but I'm going to stop at that, be intentional. This is what I'm going to do. I work from my home. It also requires the organization how you organize things. No, when clients come to my salon, my in-house Salon, they say oh wow, because when people hear things like, oh I work from home or it's the way you project yourself. I call my son, a private Salon. It'S not a home based there's nothing on based about it, I'm not home-based, because I'm not in my living room put in a chair that I started that way when I document my journey as a breeder or as an entrepreneur, I will be mentioning that I started In a living room with a chair, you know, even when I was in the living room, I had a corner. I didn't just put clients anyway: people give their money where the work is people, just don't throw their money here and there because right from the onset I never charged, because I was in the home. I'Ve been in the salon, like I said, and I know the pricing in fact, I wasn't in the salon to learn per se. I was in the salon to get the pricing and to know how to price things. So, even when I was in my living room, I was focused, it was a specific space. I had a chair, a salon chair, I didn't just put lines on the stool or on a chair on a chair from somewhere. No, I had a standard salon chair. I didn't have a mirror. I even have the mirror. Clients had to check the mirror, like I said when I make a video on that I'll, give you the details of my journey and how I started my business so be intentional understand what you're about to do. Focus on it and be specific about it. The second thing you can do is to have a goal. It'S still it's it's a little related to the first point, have a goal. People say have a niche or whatever you already you already it's already niched down. If you're in the building industry, it's a niche, find you pick a side braids, I do everything I do wigs. I do makeup, but on my Instagram page Jimmy John breaks, I streamlined it to braids. This is only because many times clients get confused when you brandish 10 things before clients, they leave it alone, they're confused. So when you narrow it down to one or two things, they can pick one or pick the second one. When you put too many options before people, they get confused and they just leave like it's too much. I'M not doing this. So my purpose and my goal was client satisfaction. Like I told you, I've been in the salon and I knew how crazy it was. My goal was to satisfy clients and to present a Serene environment, not the place where people are shattered in their fight here and there the TV is loud, the music is off, people need peace, and I also do not work well under those conditions. I work well in a peaceful environment, so my purpose was to create a Serene environment was to create. That was my purpose of your own business salon and I call it the private Salon. Like I said, my purpose was to create a place where people can rest. People come to my salon and they sleep off they're, probably coming from work Friday evenings. Any client that comes on Fridays is gon na, go. They will doze off because they're coming from what people are tired, they need a resting place. Speaking like a woman, now, probably in most cases, the only time a woman has to herself is when she gets her hair done. That'S why, when you DIY everything, that's talking to myself now when you DIY everything, there really is no space to cool off women, single marriage with kids, whatever in a relationship it doesn't matter what the world throws. A lot of things are people, so they need a resting place. I wanted to create that kind of environment, and that was my purpose and that's why I'm going to get to that point. I would rather lose money than lose people. I won't hire the client because of money. I know that sounds somehow, but my purpose was to create a peaceful environment, because I didn't see that when I was in the salon and that's why I'm very hesitant to break out and have those those kind of salons a big place with stuff. I know, but it doesn't really align with my purpose at the moment. Eventually, if I, when I go to that point, I'll find a way until I find a way it's not happening, because I know how crazy the salon was and that's why many of my clients haven't gone back to the salon, at least for braids. Sometimes I don't do other things for many clients, because I feel like in many cases they are clients who want their head there with the wigs laid your nails done in a particular place, your braidstone when it comes to braids and whatever they come to me and They'Re satisfied so have a go, a purpose. Let that drive you. That purpose will help you stay focused and it will help you in your being intentional. The third thing that can help you is being realistic, be realistic. What do I mean by this know? What you can do know what you do well, I do not believe in perfecting your weakness, I believe, in focusing on your strength, I believe, in milking your strength to the highest point. If you can only do single braids stay on it. If you do make up well, if you can only do wigs, you don't know how to do sew-ins milk, it dry. Let people know you, for it don't be a jack of all trades, don't be like. Oh, I can do everything. I can do a lot of things as a person, but I don't do everything for money or for clients when you do something, because it's your hobby, it's different. When people are going to pay you for it, when you're getting paid for something it has to be top-notch, it has to be 100 at least 99.5 or whatever so be realistic. Every morning is not yours, I always say it. Every client is not yours, no matter how gifted you are, you can't make everybody's hey, you cannot make everybody's hair, everybody can be your client, so be realistic, so that you can maintain the second Point, client, satisfaction, and that relates us to the first one being intentional. So you can see all these points are linked to each other. The number four thing you can do is to pay your dues. What do I mean? There is no fast forward button for success. People come online, they make videos on how they were successful. Success is a mix of a lot of things and some people are not even successful, yet they just project that and it works so paying your deal means giving yourself time to grow your business. Like I mentioned, I started from the living room, although I never projected their own Best Thing from the beginning. It was a private Salon in my mind in my head, and that was what I projected so, but that's that's. That'S one of the ways of paying your dues. I was in The Salon closing late getting them. You know it's a lot paying your duties a lot so when people project this successful frontal and they presenters like oh I'm successful, I built this - ask them deep questions. Those things don't come in one day, because there's no fast forward button for Success, like I said, and there are no apps - there are no apps for success. They are absolutely by the place now this app that are, but there's no app for success. You have to pay your dues and give it a little time and that's why you don't start your business in one day and probably resign your paid job. I had this dream of the beauty, industry, hair, makeup, wigs and everything for many years, and I was still working professionally. The first Salon I had, which was like a small salad - it wasn't in-house. I was still working when I had that salad. So sometimes you need another job to sustain you while you grow your business and that relates back to the third point being realistic, don't buy into the eye, do not buy into the eyeball or when I start my business and go find in your head. It looks like that, for instance, I'm about to launch my products and in my head, oh people are just gon na buy it. I'M gon na have a website, but I know with experience and it doesn't work that way. Sometimes it works that way. Sometimes business is also a combination of luck being prepared and the right time, but realistically in the real world, you have to pay your dues and give it time. The last thing I'm going to be talking about in this video is be committed to your growth. That is also linked to the fourth point. That means paying your dues and giving it time be committed to your growth. When you're growing it's a lot of work when you're fully grown, you still need a lot of commitments. I'M going to mention various things under this point, I've seen many stylists or many business owners, succeed breakthrough you know, but then they lose their commitment to their success. No matter what you know how to do, people are springing up every day. People are developing themselves every day. People are finding their talent every day. People are coming up with innovations that you've not even thought about. No matter how good you are, people will get better people get better every time, so you can't stop. You have to be committed to your growth and what does this entail dedication? I tell people, even if I teach you how to braid or how to lay wiggle out of makeup and give people all your secrets. You cannot give people dedication. The education is something that you do you decide to do and you're committed to. You can't give it to people, it's not something that is handed down to you. It cannot be given to you. You have to be dedicated on days. You don't feel like it. You have a client, you just can't cancel and that's one of the that's one of the things I say about me. I do not cancel appointments except it's in life or death issue, and I've never had that, even if you're sick, let the clients see that you're sick and can be that dedicated. When I was working professionally. I was like that. No, you have to be dedicated to whatever you're doing and that's part of being intentional you're intentionally dedicated another quality you need to have when you're being committed to your growth is endurance. Endurance is also linked to dedication on this. You don't feel like getting up. You get up it's an adult thing, I would assume, but you'll be surprised. I'Ve had many clients become my clients just because I just canceled on them Define a studies, can cancel. Things can come up, but because I have been in the salon, I know what happens. Sometimes, service cancel because she has a party. Yes, I've seen it. People can too, because I didn't just feel like it and I'm not working today, but don't forget the person coming to you for business to get a hair done, has a plan. She probably has an outing, a job interview. It could be anything or a vacation. Those are serious things to people, so you need endurance. Clients will test your endurance, but because you're being intentional - and you have a purpose for what you're doing you will be able to do it, many people have done it before you, so you will. Another thing you need is confidence. You have to be confident. You have to know your worth. You have to those are things that you need in the in the commitment to your growth. You need confidence. One example I can give to you is when a client tells you I want my hair done this way. I understand the clients, but I know better. I can tell the client your airline is not full enough for this hairstyle. You can still get it because you have the choice, but when your hair lifts or has a problem after one week, I will not be responsible. Many times they'll tell me, thank you for being honest with me I'll change my mind. I can't has the right to choose to make any choice or to choose any hairstyle, but because you should know better, have enough confidence and honesty to say: I'm not sure you can get that if it's a new client. I probably will ask the client to send me a photo, because I don't know what your airline is like. There'S a it's a lot, but because you're committed to your growth, you will be able to do these things. And the last point I'm going to mention regarding this is being consistent consistency. That is one thing that plagues beauticians consistency. This is not just about being considered in the way you work or my brains are consistent. Consistency posting consistency with air pictures, no you're consistent in your honesty, your consistent regarding your endurance regarding your commitment, you're consistent people know that you're always there you show up when people book you show up be consistent, don't just bail out on people. All these points are intertwined and can't be separated from one another. One leads to the other. Let me just do a recap, be intentional: have a go, be realistic, pay your dues and be committed to your growth. This is all in compassion. Every other thing we say after all, this is just making content. I'M also going to be making a video on my crazy Salon experience I have to make that video. I have to make that video, also a video about what I learned from clients. There'S a lot of things you can learn from clients. I can say: clients do not only pay us clients, teach clients inspires plans, give us a reason to keep going forth, because if you have no clients, you will be discouraged. It doesn't matter how talented you are. Doesn'T matter how you know how to do whatever you do? If you do not have clients, you will be discouraged my thoughts regarding maintaining and growing your own business. I'M still going to make a video about starting your own business and that's where my experience and how I grew mine were coming, but right now this is about growing your own business for those who have started. Please leave me comments and questions in the comment section. I'M usually in the comment section one hour after I post my video, so you can leave me comments. Questions observations additions if you have more experience regarding this leave me comments down here. So, thank you so much for watching this video and I'll see you in my next video stay beautiful, bye,

Wande L.: These are such great points , thanks for sharing ❤
