I'M Sean Kristen with salon Republic and we're going to do a sleek ponytail. The key to doing a really beautiful, sleek ponytail is choosing the right product and consider your hair type and whether you choose a gel or a pomade or a cream, we'll determine on what kind of hair you have we're very dense and we're very thick. So I'm going to go with a gel for her because I'm going to need a little more control to keep things very smooth. So I'm turning to lore'l fixative, I'm going to take a small amount and you're going to want to emulsify that in your hands, keeping it smooth really working that product. So now you've got that product warmed up. It'S been emulsified and you're going to apply I've already. Combed through her, so I know exactly where I want that hair to go. I'M going to keep it very, very smooth, very sleek, I'm going to get the underneath side and I'm going to take what, little after that small application of product take what's left and go through the hairline and make sure that hairline is tight, because that's really what A sleek ponytail is about the tight hairline, keeping that tight not to use too much product on the hairline. That'S why I do it after the initial application: okay and then again we're going to choose the right brush and go ahead and pull through that and we're going to get that nice sleek, look remembering to always brush all the way through the hair. We'Re going to come up and underneath and brush through that hair, keeping that really tight and smoothing that down. So we have a very nice tight hairline tight finish to that hair and then we'll take our tie, we're going to pull it through twist and pull it through and one more time keeping it very tight. I'M going to split the hair in two parts. Give it a nice little pull finish, that off, I'm Sean Kristen and that's a sleek ponytail
