Hey guys, in this hair tutorial I will show you how to do a french braid using a crochet stitch/knot technique. This crochet knotted french braid can be worn as an everyday ponytail or an elegant side swept hairstyle. The sideswept version would look beautiful with curls and would be perfect for prom, homecoming, weddings, and parties. :) Enjoy and good luck! xo

Hey guys in this video, I'm going to show you how to do a French braid using a crochet stitch technique. There are many ways to wear this hairstyle in this tutorial. I'M going to show you two ways: first, as a really pretty side swept hairstyle and second as an everyday ponytail. So let us begin first off brush all your hair. To one side then make a horizontal part at the top of your head. This will be the start of your braid. To start the knot wrap the strand of hair around your index finger and your thumb until you make a complete circle, place the strand of hair in the middle of the circle and pull it through. But you don't want to pull it through all the way, just big enough for your index finger and your thumb to stick back into the hole now, just like a French braid pick up a horizontal section of hair below add it to the main strand and loop. It through the circle and again you don't want to loop it through all the way, just big enough for your index finger and your thumb to slip right back in to keep the braid tight, hold the strand of hair in your left hand, and pick up hair With your thumb, then dip it through the circle. So, as you can see, this is almost like crocheting, except you're, using your index finger and your thumb to replace the crochet hook all right. So one more time pick up here with your thumb, add it to the main strand and loop it through the circle continue to do this until you reach the area below your ear on the last knot, grab the last strand of hair loop, it through the circle And this time pull it through all the way outs then gather the rest of your hair at the back and tie it all together as a side ponytail. If you have a layered hair chances are you'll, have some ends poking out like this. So all you have to do is take it. Stick it right back into the knot and bobby pin it in place and finally feel free to accessorize your hairstyle with a flowery clip. So here's the completed look of the ponytail version. Now, let's move on to the side, sweat slick! So again you want to start at the top of your head and create the knots by wrapping it around your index finger and your thumb loop. It through then, continue to add hair to the knots you want to do the exact same thing as earlier, but this time instead of making the braid goes straight down, you're going to curve it towards the back of your head. When you reach the area behind your ear and the knots by looping, your hair, all the way through pin the strand of hair at the back with a bobby pin or a flower clip to keep it in place to turn this into an evening.
