I have been seeing this hairstyle around a little lately, which is a flashback to a style that we used back in the 80's. It entails a simple ponytail, however each banded section needs to be ratted a little for volume, and then pull extra hair through the band to create a bubble/poof effect.

You can have as many ponytails as your hair will allow, and you can also adjust the bubbles to be as big or little as you wish {by adjusting hair pull-through}. Enjoy!
Hey everyone., We are going to film a hairdo that I'm calling the bubble ponytail.. So a lot of you may have remembered this from when we were growing up, but it's coming back around and I'm seeing it floating around on kids and teenagers and on the internet. Again., So we've just started by pulling her hair back into a ponytail and kind of doing. Soft, like we've, pulled some just to add a little fullness to the top right through there., And I'm going to try to do it with the clear elastics today, because I like that they blend into her hair a little bit more than the big black ones.. So after you get your ponytail secured, what you have to do is just take your hair and do the rat OK.. So just all the way around. It doesn't have to be extreme.. You know we want you to be able to brush your hair in the morning or whenever you take this out., Just a little bit of fullness through the ponytail is all you need., Then you're going to take another elastic. Have one ready, And just so you know Today my husband is out of town, so I have one of the twinies filming for me., So she's getting her first experience behind the camera.. So once you get that secured, you just go ahead and give the hair a little bit of a yank. Softly. Don'T want to damage your hair until it bubbles to where you like it., And then I just squeeze at the bottom. A little more gives that little extra puff. OK. Then you're going to repeat.. So we're just going to add a little fullness by ratting kind of all the way. Around., OK, add an elastic.. You can go, tighten that up again if you want. And then pull out the amount of hair. You want. Now, of course, based on hair length, you're going to get different amounts of bubbles., So it looks like in this one I'm probably going to get three. So one more time. Add the fullness rubber band.. And if you don't like my fullness, you want to do more. You can do that by ratting a little more., Whatever you want., Pull until it bubbles the way you want it. And there you go the bubble ponytail.. Now, when you're done just for a little pop. On top, I'm going to take a little feather headband and stick it up on top, so her front of her hair, isn't quite so boring. And there with her cute bangs, you can see. Turn and show them what the front looks like or from the side., And There you go

TengwarSoup: My hair looks like a disaster when I tease it, so I just tug on it. I did this the other day with pigtails, and when I got to the bottom, I used another elastic to tie the ends together. I can't say I got a ton of compliments, but it did a great job of keeping my hair out of my face without having to put it in a pony.
MsDragonChild: My Grandma has been doing her hair like this for as long as I can remember, absolutely adors it. She has real long white hair so she gets about five bubbles out of it. But she hates ratting. Maybe you could use her trick. she's got a bunch of ping pong balls, so instead of ratting she just shoves a ping pong ball into each bubbule to fill it out! And her hair's white, so it dosen't show up! You could paint the balls to match your girls' hair. It'd save on combing time later. :D

Her bangs are growing out so i make a puff ( not sure maybe its called a pomp/pompadour?) and then slick down the sides and make a high ponytail, then i make the bubbles ( shes got long hair) and it looks great! Ali: I remember this from SNSD's video; 'Oh' Hahah :) And I remember when Bubzbeauty did that snsd tutorial on it, but I always do it do the side, btw, if you don't tease your hair before your make the bubbles, then when you take it out, it'll be straight (besides the creases where your hair tyes were, even for wavy hairrrr.)
