Sleek Ponytail Tutorial On Natural Hair

She'S, a hi guys welcome back to my youtube channel for all the ones that don't know me. My name is brittany and for all the returning subscribers. Thank you guys for tuning back into another video in today's video i'm going to be doing a ponytail tutorial. This is a highly requested video, so this is me doing it for you guys, because i love you guys what i'm going to do. First, i'm just going to moisturize my hair um, any moisturizer you want to use today, i'm using the emerge curling cream. Just to add some moisture into my hair, now i'm going to go ahead and detangle my hair, then i'm going to take some rubber bands and i'm going to go ahead and section my hair off into four i'm going to have two sections at the back one At the back one in the middle and then two at the front, so that's what it should look like. Then i'm going gon na go ahead and blow dry. My hair, i didn't add much heat, but i did blow dry my hair, then i'm gon na go ahead with the extreme gel. You can use eco gel, but i use extreme um for my hair. I feel like extreme works better for my hair, so i just go ahead and i applied it at the root of my hair all over at the root. Then i'm going to go ahead and brush everything together, so we can brush out the gel and let the gel slick, my hair back and i'm gon na go ahead and take two rubber bands and use that to catch my hair up and then that's it. That'S the first section down, don't mind the parting um. The parting is not important, just ensure that you section your hair off into four sections um. So i'm moving on to the second section. Now i'm detangling my hair again just repeating the step with the gel, and now i'm brushing my hair back after applying the gel to ensure everything is smooth and laid back, i'm taking a paddle brush just to detangle my hair. Also then, i'm going to go in with shine and jam or any wax that you guys have. You can use i'm using shine and jam, and this is just going to add extra hold onto my hair, so i'm putting that on the middle section. There, like i said, don't mind my puff from the top being cut into the ponytail right there. So i'm going to go ahead and brush that and i'm going to pin my hair up with two more rubber bands. You can see that it's sleek it's all caught together. This is like the minimal heat method, so i'm gon na move on to my um section at the front there i split the section into two to make it easier to manage and i repeat the same steps where i just gel it down. I'M going to take a fine tooth comb and i'm going to use that to comb my hair back just to make everything a bit more smooth and the combs actually do work better than brushes. Sometimes to me especially tiny combs like this, and then i'm going to go ahead and pin my hair up. I just basically add the section of hair that i just did to the sections at the back with rubber band. So now i'm just ensuring that the part in the middle of my hair is straight enough for me because we're doing a middle part ponytail and i go ahead - and i add my gel comb it back and i'm doing that with all the sections they're. Just adding my gel combing it back as you guys can see, the white stuff is the product that i use in my hair. So this, this kind of um needs a lot of product to ensure that your hair is slicked back and i take one final rubber band and i bring everything together and that's how my hair is looking after slicking down all the sections period. I'M going to now go ahead with um the edge booster stick, you can use, got to be glue spray, but i'm going to use the edge booster stick. This is just like a wax stick of beeswax. If you have beeswax, you can do that too. So i applied it all over my hair, i'm going to go ahead now and just comb it down, and then this is what my hair is looking like when everything is done. So i'm going to go ahead and timer here for a couple moments just to have everything set in so after waiting for like 15 minutes i've took my head tie off. The gel is a bit dry, everything's kind of more in place. Now i'm going to comb out the end of my ponytail there, i'm going to take my braiding hair. Now, i'm going to show you guys how to do that loop there on the braiding hair. You basically just take the scone g and you put it. I don't know how to explain this. You basically just take the scrundry and put it around the hair, like you, lay it flat and put it around the hair, and then you pull one piece of the scrunchie and create a loop. So i'm going to go ahead. Now and attach the ponytail here onto my real hair. After doing that, i'm going to go ahead now and flip the ponytail over. I basically just turn the squingy on my head and just flip it over for it to look like that. So you should have the synthetic hair above your real hair, like that, then what i'm gon na do with my real hair, i'm gon na split my real hair in three. So that's what i'm, showing you guys they're splitting three! Then i'm gon na go ahead and split the braiding hair in three, so it can match up with the sections that i have created with my real hair when i split my real hair in three. So this is how we're gon na attach the synthetic hair to my real hair and then i'm gon na start braiding. So you guys look closely and, as you can see, my real hair is poking out at the top of the ponytail there. But don't worry about that! We'Re going to fix that later on. So after getting a grip on my ponytail in terms of the braid pattern, i then flip my head to the side flip the ponytail to the side too and start braiding down from there. The most important part is the beginning of you separating your hair in three and then lining up that three with the synthetic hair that you're going to separate in three. So you can create your braid. I wanted my ponytail to be longer, so i'm going to show you guys how i add in our feet, in extra hair, to make my ponytail longer. So basically, i place the extra hair on top of the ponytail that i already have, and i start braiding it in. I really don't know how to explain this to you guys. You guys can just look to see what i do. So i put the extra hair on the ponytail tuck the extra hair under like i just create three sections, so i can start braiding again naturally, and after i attach the hair on, i can just go ahead and just breathe the hair down. When i get to the bottom of my ponytail, what i like to do is that i take a section of hair out of the ponytail and i wrap it around the bottom to secure it with that extra piece. That'S left there. You can curl it or leave it, how you want it to so i'm going to show you guys now how i add the band around the top of my ponytail. I basically take an extra piece of hair and i just wrap it around the top there to hide the um rubber bands and scrunchies that we had used. You can secure this with a bobby pin, but i didn't intend to leave this style in for long. So i didn't do all of that. Then i went ahead to use the got to be glue spray just to ensure that everything was sleek and in place no flyaways. Then i take my scarf again and tie my hair up for about 15 minutes just to set everything in place. Then this is me taking the scarf off my hair just to see what my hair is looking like, and that is the final product.
