Slick High Ponytail On Natural Hair + 3 Ways To Style A Drawstring Ponytail | Betterlength

So, hey guys welcome back to my channel, so in today's tutorial i'll be showing you how i achieve this sleek ponytail hairstyle as well as a couple ways you can style your drawstring ponytail. So let's get straight into it um to get started. I put my hair into two sections just so it's a lot easier to work with um. Now, i'm just spraying it with some water just to get it a bit moist and a bit damp um. I really do not like to work on dry hair, especially when i'm slicking my hair down. Now, i'm going to be sealing in all that water with some oil just to make sure my hair is moisturized. You know before i put in the gel i'm also taking my detangling brush and i'm just totally like detangling, my hair. You definitely want to make sure your hair is fully detangled, so you don't end up with any knots and so that your hair is as sleek as possible for my gel i'll, be using the wetland extreme gel and i'm just going to start applying it in sections Into my hair um, if you want a really really sleek look, please feel free to like part your hair and apply this gel in like smaller sections. That'S the best way to get a sleek look anyway. After sticking up the on front of my hair, i'm just going to use a scrunchie to hold it into like a loose bun. While i work on the back section and for the back, i'm pretty much repeating the same thing, i'm just spraying it with some water, detangling and all of that stuff, and then i'm going to go ahead and stick it up as well. After sticking, my hair, i'm just going to gather both sections together in the middle of my hair and i'm using like my soft bristle brush just to brush everything together and make sure that my hair is like super duper sleek. And then i'm going to go ahead and put it into a bun, so i went ahead and did my edges off camera and now i'm just applying some mousse to my hair. This step is really not necessary. Um. I ended up going over my hair with some edge control just so it can have a bit more like sleekness to it. So if you don't have moist, you can totally skip this step. I'M tying my hair down with some wrap strips because i feel like this really helps to keep my hair like super sleek, and then i went ahead and did my makeup um. Now i'm going to be using my drawstring ponytail from better length hair. I'M pretty sure you guys have seen me use this so many times um, i already defined it off camera. So now i just took the wrap strips like off and i'm just going to be attaching the drawstring ponytail and securing it um and after i'm done doing that i'll also be taking like a piece of hair just to make sure that um. That top part is camouflaged, and this is pretty much the first look. You guys it's just like your basic high ponytail. You guys can see. My waves are popping. My hair is shiny, the ponytail looks gorgeous okay, so this is style number one. So for style. Number. Two i'm going to be creating a bun and bangs look and i've created this style with clip-ins before, but i just want to show you guys how versatile this ponytail is like honestly, the styles you can create with it are endless, so i'm just going to be Taking a section in the middle right there and i'm bringing it towards the front to kind of like create my bang and i'm also making sure it's not like too long in my face or anything now, i'm going to be taking a bobby pin and i'm just Going to like bend it in half and pin that part to the top of my head just so it stays put now, i'm pretty much just going to take the rest of the hair and wrap it into a bun, and that's pretty much the look you guys, Like can you guys believe this is a ponytail honestly, i feel like if i didn't tell you, you, wouldn't be able to know that i used a ponytail to finesse the style but, like i feel like it turned out really really cute, and it just shows you Guys how versatile this ponytail is, you don't have to wear it the same way every single time, so i'm just styling the hair. You know wrapping it up, making sure the bang isn't too much. So it looks as realistic as possible and then there's one little piece that was hanging, so i just cut it, and this is pretty much it's you guys. The bang was perfect. In my opinion, it wasn't too full and the curls just looked really really nice and yeah. This is style number two. So for the last and final style, i'm just going to be creating a simple like bun look. Now you guys get creative with this. I really want to see you guys create like different styles, with your ponytails okay, and if you do, please make sure you tag me um, but for this style i'm just leaving out some pieces of hair just for a little. You know just for a little sass. Okay, so i'm just going to be wrapping the hair around on the base of the ponytail to create my bun um feel free to wrap this as much as you'd want. You can even make it into a top knot like you can twist this into little sections and make the nicest top knot ever, but i just wanted a nice little bun. I went ahead and like re-wrapped it again, because i wasn't really feeling um the shape right here, but i also left out some pieces of hair just to make it look a little cute. Okay, like i just felt like that, would add a little um chic-ness to the look so here, as you can see, i'm re-wrapping it like i said, and i feel like this shape - is a lot better.
