The Perfect Knot (Demo) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SYbNiCB...

Hey guys, it is your girl, mary kay, coming to you with just the braids portion of the video, and this is how i have braided my hair for this particular style. Let me get closer, so y'all can see and please pay no attention to the braids. I am on like speed crochet one on one, because I have so much left to do today and I actually just put my hair like wrapped it in like a little bantu knot, sort of thing in the back. You can also sew it up. There are so many things that you can do to secure this part. That'S just what I do. I hope you guys were able to see I'll be back with the final results and the layering bye. Bye, hey you guys, I'm back, I am in, but it's not gon na stay like this, of course, so I'm going to go ahead and do my layering now typically, my layering takes a couple days because I'll layer it and then the next day. I see something like oh my gosh. I got ta get it snip-snip. You know my hubby's calling me yes, my baby, yes, yes, listen! Naja is over at the house right here, she's in the house in the house. Yes, she's in the house, but I'm watching I'm watching I'm outside, so that I'm going to get a little first day of all of this. Okay, that's my baby. My daughter is at her first little house friend play thing. I don't I don't know what you wan na call this the first time she's at a neighbor's house and she's, been playing with a little girl outside they're, the same age and all that good stuff. So daddy just decided that you know she could. Oh, my baby's growing up. Okay, it was back to the hair. I'M gon na show you guys how i layer this. Oh I'm just like. I love big hair. I really really do but I'm in Carolina and it is hot hot, hot, hot hot. So I'm not gon na keep it like this, so what I'm gon na do first is start with the actual layers I'm going to. This is a two-part step. For me, the thinning part is definitely not it's not a requirement. You don't have to do that. I like to do it because it makes the hair look so much better. I'M going to show you how I layer, I'm not gon na give you the scientific um hold on I'm not gon na give you, like you know what I learned in school. How to do it angles, I'm just gon na give you the easy kind of way to just look at the hair and see where you need to cut sort of cuz. It'S just a little bit easier. If you don't know, I'm not in front of you, so you know just easier that way, so I'm gon na start with the actual layering and then I'm gon na do the thinning, of course again. I'M using my place place shears to do this and I'm gon na talk. I'M gon na review this hair and probably about a week so you'll know more about what hair it is, and you know how it's feeling and all that good stuff. So I'm gon na start with my play-play shears, because I don't need again to bring up the steel for these styles. This is what you want to do. First and foremost, you want to decide where you want your the layers that everyone can see from your face. You have to decide where you want those layers to be so just say: okay, you know that this is your first piece of hair. This is gon na, be like your your bang, so just say. If I want my layer to start a little bit below my brow, I'm gon na let it fall. Naturally, okay, don't pull it down, because what is it gon na do and then you're gon na have a piece that's up here when you met for to be down here, you don't wan na do that. So I want this layer to start about right here. So I'm not gon na pull and I'm just going to snip. Okay, you see that snip okay. So then what you do is you go to the opposite side? You do the same thing and you even it up. You want this side to look just like this side, so you do not pull you see where it is or if you want to be more precise, you can pull this down. Pull this down and see exactly. My house is just so loud between my son and hubby and see what you need to cut okay, that is going to be the guide for the entire cut okay. So you want to take this first, because you know your hair cornrowed underneath here. So take this little top section and I'm I'm like down, so you can see, stretch it out and see where your first piece ends. Your first piece ends right swings are going to that BAM. So right here, where I'm grabbing is where my first piece that we just cut ends. So all this leftover you're gon na cut off okay, so you're measuring this by the first piece that you cut, which is somewhere in this wilderness now. But that's how you measure this all this is cut and because this style - because I like my Styles, messy there's just so many variables to a messy cut - you don't want to be so well. You might want to be so neat. I don't know so: that's your first layer, I'm gon na put this side up. No, I'm not because my hair tie that I thought was right here is not so I'm just going mmm I'll just do this nope! No one! Do that either! So now what you want to do is half down like halfway. You want to get it even right in left side, you see that first layer that is the beginning of everything. So you want to take the front part of your hair and I'm just kind of I'm gon na go down down down down down yeah, okay. I still need a hair tie, so you guys can see this. I I'm usually like. I just do it. So I didn't even think to grab one okay, I'm sorry, you guys, I don't anything for problems. Okay, I'll! Do that, so you can see so following your top layer, you want your hair to layer at an angle. Now, of course, the bottom is gon na be longer, then the top so letting it fall. Naturally, you see where the layer starts. You almost want it to be in a diagonal line and you'll see where it's out of place, so I'm gon na go ahead and cut letting it fall forward. I can't do it and look in the computer, so I have to just - and yes, this is a very impromptu do and the lower you go down the less hair, you're gon na cut off, because I like to keep my length. So you see how it kind of falls at an angle. It'S not like the top layer up here stop here, and then you help all this long hair. It kind of falls at an angle, but it's a messy angle. Okay, unless you want sure it's very very neat, I do not so it's gon na fall at that angle. Then you're gon na take another, and I'm just going down like this and I'm just taking sections of hair yeah. This hair is and kind of like get it at its max curly lint, and you do the same thing. You kind of see which pieces are kind of sticking out. Okay, keep it moving. You see, that's still not flowing. It'S still not giving me that angle that I want this piece is kind of out, so I'm gon na cut it. This one is out, I'm gon na cut it. You want to fall, you want it to follow. The same path is your first set of layers that you just created see a place. It'S not supposed to be rounded. It'S supposed to go at an angle like that, not a curve like an angle, so this is just all out of place. So what I'm gon na do is add a place cut it out of place. Okay - and this is still once I turn - I was able to see - it's still a little rounded for my taste now you might look at this and say: oh, my goodness, I love how it's starting to shape out, keep it, but I know myself and I'm gon Na end up cutting it when I see it tomorrow, so I'm just gon na go ahead and do it now, because I know the ultimate shape that I'm going for, and I know what I want it to look like hair sculpting is all about the shape. Ladies and gentlemen, you know what shape you want and you have a visual eye. You get that shape, so I'm gon na continue on now that you know exactly like piece by piece how to do it. I'M just gon na go through and so don't mind me. I'M gon na hack, like I have never had before, because this is what I do. I remember the first time I learned how to cut hair when I was in school cosmetology school and I sliced the birds out of my finger. I only did it once, though. Never again and I became something like a master sculptor, you know don't mess, or at least that's what I call myself. I gave you the you know the way to really be precise and do it, but now so don't do it like this. I mean after a while you'll be able to do it like this. I mean you'll be able to just go through in Bangla, okay, now you're already starting to see the difference. I'M gon na, I think my hobby is finished playing basketball, which is odd because it's still daylight, my goodness, I'm so thinking about my daughter, she's at the neighbors, literally the next-door neighbor, and I'm like oh gosh. This is their first time over by herself. We live in a great neighborhood, thank God because my nurse I'm crazy about my kids and my man. Okay, so you can see the difference already in the shape, that's taking place. Okay, I see see that BAM that piece icicles, so you can kind of see how I determine well. I saw exactly where it needed to be cut, so, even if I pull it out, my fingers have already placed where it needs to be cut. Okay. Now this piece is clearly hidden, the first piece that I cut so and, like I said once you get to a certain point, you don't really have to measure. I like my hair to frame my face. This is another technique where you just go down: snip snip snip, you don't just you kind of scale, the hair so you're, not even closing it all the way. You'Re just scaling down down down down down down down down down, and it will give you a lair it'll frame, your face, you'll, take a layer that you created just say: okay, this is this first layer that I created and you split that piece apart and make Another layer, I'm gon na cut this one a little bit shorter than now give it even more definition. You see that so I broke that layer down and so a couple little layers literally, you can piece by piece craft, let's shape in a look once you have the vision of where you want to go literally, you can taste there. Okay, now I'm gon na start to thin it out because then I'll see, if I need to there more, which I'm sure I do, because i layer layer, layer, okay, okay, so oh, if you didn't see in my other video, these are thinning shears my plaything shears. You can see, one side is like the edge of a regular share and the other side has. It looks like a little column, so you can close it. It will not click like a blunt cut of regular shears. It won't do that it will fit, which is its purpose. This side is like super thick, so I'm gon na start here and I like to thin at the ends and work my way up if I need to - and that was just three little snips I'll - show you how much hair came from that. This is just volume. Just from the three snips: okay, that's what it does not necessarily taking one in, but it's taking oh volume and you can tell where it needs to be. Then, as you go on in your thinning process, this side is so oh man. This is like my goal for my natural hair. It should just be like ridiculously obnoxiously thick and, since my hair is thin, probably never happens. Okay in the thicker that it is, you want to make sure should get enough little grass feet pieces. I did that with four or five times. I'Ve got a nice little bit of close up, so you can see. Looking like you see, I'm gon na not take the thinning shears. So it's not so blunt get that out standing shears. Okay. Now this side was not a speck, it was thick but not as thick, so it's a little more manageable number one. So I'm going to Oh God and when I come back to do the review of this hair. This is probably gon na look completely different because I'm sure I'm not finished, but I don't want to hold you guys all day. So this is the gist of this hair and my thinning and layering madness that I hope you guys enjoyed this. Is it I'll be back with more up look as soon as I say it that thinning shears Brown easy breathing? Alright, you guys bye. What'S up you guys, so this is the final result of all of my hacking and layering. I just it started off a lot longer and it's still pretty long. It'S kinky afro kinky hair. So it's still pretty long. I'M just gon na pull it on a piece. So you can see this is with all the cutting and stuff. So, there's a lot that I'm gon na be doing with this hair, but this is what I decided morning because I like it and it's so thick - I love it, and this hair is definitely a good replica of afro. Kinky hair excuse my voice. I woke up this morning and I definitely sounded like he-man, so I don't know but anyways. This is the end result. I just wanted to come on and show you guys do 3232. I'M gon na be reviewing this hair in a week. So you'll see all of the good stuff about it and if there's any not-so-good stuff I'll, let you guys know, but I
