How To: Sleek Extended Braided Ponytail On Natural Hair | Jaterra Bria'Na

Share subscribe, subscribe, okay, join the fam, so in today's video i will be attempting to do the long, extended, braided pony, um i'll, show you my hair simply for this style. I don't want to do it, so i've been want to go forever and jada has been rocking it. I don't know what side i'm gon na put her pressure on, but but baby girl has been rocking this braid and it just made me want to do it even more. So it was perfect timing because if you haven't watched my last video that just got uploaded, i straightened and trimmed my ends. I really needed to trim my hands so now i don't wear my hair straight. I don't like the way it looks it's just like blah. It looks boring - and i just laid down for two seconds two seconds to let my camera charge and my hair already got messed up, so i don't like wearing my hair straight. So let's get right into this tutorial. Okay. So what you're going to need is some um shine and jam. I'M going to use this to re-do my edges, um and i'm only redoing them, because i use guys to be at first and sometimes got to me, makes my hair curl up and today was one of those days, and i don't want that for this style. So i'm going in with some shine and jam, and i'm also going to need this for my actual extended braid as well, and i'm just going over my edges. So they could be brushed into the hair nicely without having those uh curlies that it had not like that or flakes. I got flakes right now, uh! Oh, i got time you know for that time for that, so just using this to get rid of all that um and don't worry if your beauty supply stores are still closed, which mine definitely is you can still order everything i use in today's video from amazon. So i'll have the links for everything in the description box below i wanted to leave some hair out. I think that's so cute a little bit of hair to like frame the face, but i know my hair and i'm going out tomorrow for brunch. I know my hair, my hair is just going to curl up and i don't want it to do that, so i'm just not going to do it. Okay, so now that i got my edges looking how they look, they look really good um. My part for the most part is already it's already good. Let me make sure yeah, i'm not too pressed over. My part, that's the that's the sharpest it's going to get today because i don't feel like redoing it, but basically what everyone uses to mow their hair for this style is the got to be spray and my hair once i comb my hair, it's already flat y'all, Because i literally just pressed my hair out, so i really don't need to, but i am going to do - is spray this all over the top of my head. I'M gon na do one set at a time one side at a time and i'm gon na get my comb and i'm just going to comb and sleek her down like so make sure you get your front so i want to do. I want to use a brush. Let me see i'm going to spray her one more time, so i know these hairs ain't going nowhere and once i have everything in place, i'm gon na get my blow dryer and i'm going to lock her into place, and i don't know if you're supposed to Use cool or whatever some use, medium heat, so it kind of stays in place and i'm gon na do the same exact thing on the other side. So what did i do? First? I cloned it first with my right tail and i spray that and then i brushed it okay. So once i have that i'm just going to um fix this right here, because my edge is trying to come out already and then i'll put her in a ponytail um. One thing i don't want to do is make my hair too hard, because i know that if my hair messes up through my sleep or something i should be able to put some type of jam on it or something and like fix it, i don't want my Hair to be too stuck to the point where i can't fix it the next day, you know what i mean, i hope i'm making sense. So i didn't put too much on my edge area, because i know that nine times out of ten that's where i'm gon na be like redoing, my hair and stuff, so don't make your hair too hard just mold it to look how you want it to look And make sure you make sure your base is perfect and everything is in order before you start your braid, because once you start your braids, not gon na go back and fix anything so yeah making sure everything is perfect. That looks really good to me and i'm gon na go in with my band. You put the ponytail. Also you don't want to make your ponytail too tight, because it's just going to get tighter as you wrap the piece of hair around it. That, like makes the that has the band. That'S when your ponytail gets super duper tight, so don't make your hair, don't make your hair too tight before that part happens. So this is what i have right now. I hope my back look good because i cannot see - and i hope i'm gon na be able to show y'all what i'm doing, because i don't have no mirror behind me. So anyways we gon na make we're gon na get it together, so yeah. So now that i have that i'm gon na show y'all the braiding hair that i'll be using today. It'S the same hair that i used to make my knotless braids, and i got this off amazon as well, when i did my knowledge braids out with too much hair, not too much, but i knew i was going to do something with braiding hair in the future. So i might as well get a lot, but this is the expressions triple pack in 84 inches, and this is what the hair looks like um. I already took the braid that i'll be using out, so let me stand up for y'all, i'm five, two. By the way, okay, i'm five two and excuse my stomach out but uh. This is the braid, and this is how long it is um. I know i showed y'all the picture of jada. I literally want my braid down to the floor. Y'All know i'm extra when it comes to hair. I want my braid down to the floor. So what you want to do is keep this rubber band, that they give. You keep that because we're going to use that in a second um, i'm taking the hair out right now, because i'm trying to see is this going to be thick enough or right. It'S going to be thick enough for the girl, or am i going to have to add to you, because i don't want no skinny ass braid, but also don't want her to be too thick. So i'm about to actually braid this tight and see what it looks like or emma, because i want to make the hair, let me twist it tight, i'm always thinking. Let me twist it tight and see the thickness, but do i want a tight braid? It'S a lot to consider. I think i'm gon na make life easy on me and just use this braid but hold on one moment. So what i think i'm gon na do is the other braid that i have, because i don't think i'm gon na do anything else with this hair. So the other braid that i have i'm gon na take one section and i'm going to cut it and i'll be using this hair as the braid thins out to keep it going and like to add to the length. So it can definitely be as long as me. What you're going to do is when you get your hair, that you're going to be braiding with you're going to have her folded in half. My hair is already folded in half and you're, going to separate it between the two right so and i'm also going to put the person who video i watched, because i i stole this um method from someone else, but i am going to definitely give her credit Because she did that okay, oh my hair - is getting hard all alright. So i hope i can show y'all what you want to do is if you're going to have your hair to one side right, have your natural hair on one side and you're going to take the braiding hair? Am i in camera, yeah you're going to take the braiding hair and you want to make sure that you have a rubber band or a hair tie. One hand which i do and you're going to take one side and your real hair on one side and have the braid extra braided hair on the other. Okay, so remember it was. It was folded in half put it right. Over top of your ponytail grab your hair with one side and separate the other bag. Take your rubber band or your hair clasp. You can pull all that hair through and you're going to tie it. Do i want to go one more time? I think i am if this is okay. I don't even know what it looked like, but that's something how it should look okay. So now you have your ponytail and it don't look. Super duper bulky or nothing. I hope it don't look bulky yeah, my you can tell my hair is separate from the braided hair, but we're gon na get that together in a second. So so, if your hair is as long or anywhere near the length of mine you're going to need one of these like blade cones or something to like trim down the hair, because now we're going to take a section of hair from this side, you don't want The hair to be too thick, but you want a good amount. This hair can get so freaking nappy y'all. What you're going to do is take a hair, take a section of hair and you're going to have to feather it out, because this is going to be the part of the hair that you wrap around the top of your braid to hide everything. So i'm gon na cut the hair like right here. What'S that? Actually let me take a pair of scissors because this hair is thick and i'm just going to go up and down it. You don't want to cut the hair like straight across because you need something you need the hair to get thin, so you can wrap it around and it can be. Super duper tight once you're done wrapping. I hope that makes sense, but you see how my hair is feathered out and it's not just straight across. That'S how you want your hair to be and you're going to take your got to be, and a comb and you're going to comb your hair out this hair is so nappy. I don't even want to call me if you got human hair, long against human hair. Use human hair, because this be too much you're gon na, take it and you're gon na spray. It we got today you want to make sure that the hair is smooth, also make sure that you have your own your blow dryer on hand, because you're gon na need that and then what you're gon na do is wrap it around the bag. You'Re going to keep spraying and wrapping as you go and then you're going to blow dry it and if it's not perfect, i'm sorry y'all, but i can't see what i'm doing, i'm just literally filling the hair: okay y'all. Oh my god! Here'S i hear kids screaming outside i'm, so happy kids are outside playing. I used to stay outside, but anyways yeah um. This is what it's looking like so far. I hope y'all could see um so yeah. I'Ve already got my whole band. It'S covered in with not because i don't know why you have time for that to be showing so now what all you got to do is literally braid, like you braid in a regular place, so i'm gon na take some of this shine. Jam put it in between my fingers and just go like that, and i'm really gon na get the ends. I'M gon na get the ends of my hair in a second because i won't put it on there to just dry out that'll be pointless, and it's going to be a struggle for me to braid all this hair. I just love it so now, i'm just sectioning three sections for the braid y'all. This hair is so freaking long. You don't understand, and you want to make sure you um you separate your hair with enough braiding hair, like don't don't play just your hair because girl, your hair. If it's around the length of mine, it's not going to be enough hair to go down the braid. So make sure you add braiding hair to your hair and you want to try to make them even but y'all already know that i didn't make and all you're gon na do is braid right down arms hurt all [ __ ] ready. It was so much easier if i was doing this on someone i'm trying to look to see where my natural hair is uh-huh. I think my natural hair is starting to to run out, so i'm trying to put some shine jam on it, because the last thing you want is to have your natural hair peeping out of the braid so like right here, i probably shouldn't have trimmed my ends Before this style - because it's not really helping me but look - my ends need to be clipped, so he got okay. So this is how far i got down the braid she's, not long enough. Okay, she ain't she's nowhere near long enough, so i feel like, if i add this hair to her, then she will be long enough. Okay, so i'm literally about to put the braid in between my legs to hold the end. While i separate some strands so i'm gon na do three strands off rip for each section of the braid right trying to do them in like the same size. I literally got throw the braid back here, so i can show you so literally. I think all you do is keep your section that you're about to cross over, take the hair and wrap her around. I hope that made sense, i'm going to show y'all again in the section in a second, but you see how you added it and now there's a length i'm going to show y'all again hold on. So you see how i'm crossing this one over to my left. I'M going to take this section of hair and add her right to that section. If i'm not making myself clear, i'm so sorry y'all, it's really hard to show y'all wow, i'm like while i have so much hair in my hands. So i'm so sorry! If it's not making sense, y'all may have to like just watch a separate tutorial on like how to add to feed and breeds, or something like that, okay y'all. So i know there has been a definite change in quality, but you guys my freaking camera is the battery is full right, so long story short. I went ahead and did the entire braid so right now, i'm about to show y'all what it looks like because i have to dip it in boiling water, and i cannot not let y'all see that part of the video like what that's the whole tutorial. So i'm about to show y'all what it looks like excuse, my rose and my wedgie, but i don't know i hope you can see the band party, that's what it looks like, and this is how long the braid is. So it's not all the way to my feet, but you know, but you know she's long enough, she's long enough, because at this point i can't even braid anymore without my hands cramping and whatnot. I, like the braid she's, not perfect, but we're going to dip her, and hopefully she becomes a little bit more perfect. But i love the way that the braid like gets skinny and skinny and skinny and skinny um. What y'all missed was if the hair was too thick. I just went in with my scissors and kind of like you know, feathered it out, and then i added like literally like bits and pieces of hair at the end, so i could get that long. Type of look you feel me so now, i'm gon na go down the side of my braid and just trim off some extra hairs that are coming out. I'M not even gon na do too much because i don't like when it looks like they literally went and chopped all the sides of your braids. I'M just doing little bits and pieces yeah and i'm not even gon na worry about the bottom, because i'm about to go dip it. So that's what it looks like y'all and i'm gon na put a scarf on my hair. If your hair is anything like mine, when steam gets to it, it'll poof up and stuff, so make sure that you put a scarf on your head before you um start from your real hair at the top before you go and dip your ends, because when the Feeding comes back and hit you, you don't want it to mess with your hair. That was so ghetto of my story to just be full out of nowhere like come on girl. You see me doing a video. So now i'm gon na take y'all upstairs i'm about to put the smallest pot of water on to boil and seal my ends okay period. I am so sorry that i did not get a chance to film a outro for y'all because of my camera storage. Being full and then my battery died and yeah, so i'm sorry about the quality change and all that, but look at this braid y'all. This is about to be my go-to summer style. It'S so cute minimalistic, it's bomb it take your outfit and you'll, look to a whole new level, so i hope y'all enjoyed this video. I hope you understood the tutorial. It was my first time doing it.
