2023 Busch Light Clash At The Coliseum Highlights | Nascar On Fox

The Busch Light Clash at The Coliseum brought the action as the NASCAR Cup Series started the season with a bang! Bubba Wallace was assertive in the beginning of the race as he led 39 of the 150 laps, but Martin Truex Jr. made it count where it mattered most as he led 25 laps of the race and was able to hold off Austin Dillon to win the Busch Light Clash at The Coliseum. The Clash featured 16 cautions, in comparison to five in last year's race.

I, like that, do you guys think the second lane ever comes in now that we have enough cars on track to maybe work it in get a little rubber down? No chains, no chance High spin winner, kill honorary starter for today's event, and here they come green flag and Truex, with a good launch off turn two they're dead even into three there's a little bit of wheel, lock up on the outside foreign. I think they will. I mean they know this, isn't a 25 lap heat race they've got a 75 lap segment. The air pressures are down the track's cooling off way, Slicker. It seems like as soon as the sun goes down, so these guys are gon na somewhat watch their p's and q's right now they were three wide off turn. Four wow Alex Bowman was to the inside and he's alongside his Hendrick Chevy teammate, William Byron now. For fourth, I think you know just much like we saw Kevin Harvick in that heat race when two cars get together, you kind of got to be there for the taking and take advantage of that slip up much like this year point when you said uh mentioned Martinsville, so we want to turn two Harvick three wide all the way down the back straight away and he gets the worst of it in the corner. He comes the first car one lap down man, Kyle Busch is given William Byron. All he can handle right now. Spinner turn two Eric Jones: that's one of my cars out better get used to this bud. I'Ve got a toe link broke too on the right rear. It looks like look at this review. It'S just hard racing. I mean everybody's fighting for the spot. You know trying to outbreak one another into the turn and 43 comes around. Unfortunately, it looks like the toe link broke when he, the right rear, hits the back of the four car. I noticed that Eric is still out on track in his Allegiant Air Chevrolet. So it's gon na it's gon na turn, really good. I think how drivable it's going to be is he tries to make some more laps here if he doesn't get down down? There are a whole lot of cars in line waiting to take that spot great Drive off of two, though now he can get back down. It goes Blaney three and four there's a look at what happened to Al morola, getting shoved back and we are under caution for the second time today, just stacking up behind me. Much like we saw in the heat race. It really wasn't the car behind him that dumped him. It was three or four of them. Quite a bit of damage to the front of his car. Blaney was 11th. The great thing Chase, Elliott Class Act moved over. Let the leaders go, he knows he's having a rough day there. Something probably got bent turn two almondinger goes around now downtown easy stay down stay down here, two laps, complete third caution: flag, other guys, really really happy with the weather at turn, two Hamlin around man. Those two always seem to find each other, the one and a11.. Well, is the door open? Yes do I am I gon na say that sell that as a dive bomb? Absolutely I mean that's just the way. I see it fairly still barely Truex coming to the lead he and Wallace got together, and here comes Dylan to the inside Brown goes. We'Ve got one around tiger, man they're a three wide everywhere pushing and shoving. There'S no way they're going to make that work. For long and they didn't to do the job and it looks like Hamlin was the one who made contact did a really good job, taking the opportunity to get in that hole got one final. Four here are the four that would be Kevin, Harvick, bringing out the seventh caution, officially counting the halfway break. Oh sorry, I'm weak ahead of myself and the driver new englanders called pre-slightening is up to second, but there's a pile up on the back straight away. That puts us under caution once again, and it looks like Michael Mcdowell, Chase, Elliott and Ryan Blaney may have been involved in that you don't often see cars spinning out on a quarter mile track and everybody facing the same way when it's over Ty Gibbs got hit Hard in that left, rear trucks is hustling hard. How about the 41 to the inside pluck out Todd gilliland's had a busy night, maybe Revenge, Larry, Mack caution, turn two almendinger piled up with cindric and Bell: that's just too many cars making contact to count. Well, that's just it! You just got ta run a few laps to get him spread out enough to where you can make those laps, Logano, drilled, Kyle, Busch and around goes the eight Briggs chase. Briscoe'S view of this wasn't really a dive bomb or trying to fill a hole. It just didn't stop spinner in two and that'll be Justin Haley Tyler Reddick got sent there with help off the 14 by the 14. chase, Briscoe entering a lot lower on your bumper. Here, a little bit of patience on these restarts goes a long ways. I know they don't you can't afford to get them too soon. Upper my half of the one keep rolling top here. Stay up, stay up, stay up, keep coming Gap, It Up Hold the brake hold the brake hold the break, hold the break. That'S the best battle on the racetrack, as priest pulls away in Blaney goes for a ride into the turn two wall. Just look at the accordion, though, all of them one hit the 45 hit the 12 and maybe more 10 laps to go caution. That'S for McDowell, oh with nine, to go and eight to go it's time to go Dylan into the wall. Wallace goes that radio communications isn't going to be that good. Now, no, that was not pretty wow. That was the high hard one. Six car Breakaway priest leading the second pack from seven two more laps Truex opens it up as the White Flag waves one lap to go sponsored by Credit One bank, and he wants to get around here as fast as he possibly can. The three wide behind him. They'Re trying down here they're trying to pile it up, but Martin Truex comes off turn four of a checkered flag. Here Comes three wide three rows back as everybody scrambles to the Finish ing, frustrations, Galore is one guy happy and a bunch of a man say you know. Traffic and conditions were a big part of the problem, but that guy right there he didn't qualify good. It was the fastest car worried, sick about qualifying Goods started his heat Race. Six got up through him, put himself a position to where he could take care of that car and keep the fenders on it. You can see a little bit of brushing here and there, but that baby's in Victory Lane and a big night for Richard Childress Racing, Austin, Dillon and Kyle Busch coming home. Second and third for RCR and we'll have something tonight that we've not seen in NASCAR a metal ceremony here at the Coliseum for the top three finishers. It'S only fitting at the LA Coliseum right right, Martin Truex, Jane small, the crew chief Drew Herring, the spotter to celebrate well, Martin sure X, Jr has done a lot of things in his career, but winning The Clash is one that you never accomplish until now. What a mess it was for you guys here last year, but what was the difference tonight? You guys were good from the time you unloaded yeah, just a really good race car, but you know the guys did a great job with this uh Bass. Pro Shops, Club, Toyota, Camry, Tracker boats, racer food, Fine Foods, auto owner, is True Timber, uh Rock Cessna. Oh just all of our partners that let us do this uh last year was uh was a pretty rough season for us. You know with no wins and uh to come out here and kick it off this way, just really proud. All these guys and uh tonight was just kind of persevere, not give up and just um battle through, and we found ourselves in the right spot. At the end, so sometimes they work out your way and sometimes they dull tonight it went our way and we made some good adjustments too. Martin, take this Rowdy bunch of yours head over to the podium you're, getting a big trophy and a gold medal, and that Busch Light let's go and that too congratulations to Martin Truex Jr winner of the Busch Light Clash at the Coliseum, runner-up, Austin, Dillon and third Place: finisher Kyle, Busch, hey race fans, thanks for watching our video for all NASCAR on Fox News content and the best clips from Fox Sports be sure to follow And subscribe to our Channel.

NASCAR on FOX: Which drivers are you predicting to have a great season?

DennyDelivers: -Busch Light Clash at the Coliseum- *_Bruh Night Crash at the Colonoscopy_*

C C: I think you can look for the 8 and 3 to be strong at Daytona too. This might be Kyle's best shot at a 500. Austin ain't a greedy teammate like Denny.

May Be Something: So far, 100% of Clash at the Colosseum driver have won the championship. Can we keep up that trend?

Garrett Church: I was there in person, my god it took waaaay to long to complete.

Butter Ball: The Clash was pretty cool this year except if your favorite driver got dumped. It’s Short Track Racin’

XenonStriker003: It was an alright race although I don’t like the cautions during this race.

Maxi F: What a crazy way to start season Truex superb drive to get his first clash win in his career also an more caution packing race hope it's gonna be thrilling in every race

barfridge0: It's like watching fighter jets trying to pull laps in your back yard. Definitely not the best they can do.

Logan Ward: at least the cool thing is that Tony will be in the broadcast booth for the Daytona 500 which is very cool same thing with Kevin HarVick joining the broadcast booth for Fox's coverage of the 2024 NASCAR cup series season

Matthew Houseright: They should drop this track and bring back Rockingham!

SZYBKI WOJTAS: This must be a very bad race for Ty Gibbs. First he caught fire during practice and now he got involved in many wrecks, spins, etc.

danracerboy24: I miss when this race used to be at Daytona :(

pibbles9: I was there, it was cool but too many cars for this size track

Thomas Babcock: Congrats to Martin, my favorite driver this week was Dillion for putting Bubbles in the wall..nice

Landon Wilder: I bet this would be awesome in person. The race that is.

mattandsam32: Recap: cautions every five mins and no passing unless you ram the guy in front of you or get lucky to skate by while other drivers were ramming into each other. You can clearly see that the drivers don't even like it but have to go with it so nascar doesn't punish them. What an absolute joke.

Real King: A lot of crashes this night

Miles e.e: I was there myself as well, it was an awesome first time experience for me and my gf, glad Bubba got nailed, his karma for what he did to Kyle , & good for Truex Jr, he deserves the win

Intrigued Gaming: Keep em coming!

Night Rider: Seriously a go cart track .

Richard Kelly: I think it's time to go back to throwing them in a dirt late model once a year again on some random local race track where the roots fans and real racing is

Derek Newton: Glad truex jr. Got the win! And glad Wallace LOST!!!!!!!

Zach King: Man those concerts around the race were awkward

QF Dan: you know the event isn't a success since the crowd stands are mostly empty

Paul McElligott: There’s no way that track has four turns.

AJ 🇺🇸: The coliseum is that last place you want to have a race

William Wheeler: JGR drivers, Hamlin, Truex who struggled mightily in ‘22

Garrett and the Airborne number three: This has to be the most cautions in this race, right

Matthew Houseright: Nascar is CLEARLY having an identity crisis! I mean, I'm all for hip hop in the right context, but a Nascar race??? Also this sport was most popular in the late 90s/early 00s, yet they have done everything possible to take away anything that resembles the golden years.(Speed, culture, vibrant paint schemes(wrap ), car design, rules, tracks, t.v packages, announcers, ect, ect, ect...) And I'm not saying they need to bring back the damned rebel flag, but they need to do something. The Next Gen car would've been a great opportunity, and they dropped the ball completely! Also, classic Nascar games are what got me into the sport as a child(Nr2003, Thunder 04, Dirt To Daytona) and look at the garbage kids that are stuck with.... Nascar Heat?? 21 Ignition? We need Iracing to put out a Nascar game for console!

Donald Collins: It was sad not seeing Kurt out there...

Rebel Soul: Nascar is destroying itself, they race in LA at this boring track but we can't have the Brickyard 400, 2 normal Bristol races without freaking dirt, 2 Pocono races which is a fantastic track and unique and I could go on. How about 3 races at Daytona the ACTUAL track, not the road course. The schedule is messed up enough than you throw in the non exciting points system where everyone gets into the "Playoffs" my God I feel bad for the youth who has never got to see a real champion.

Travis Farmer: The fact people paid to be here

Stabby McStabbersson: Geez, that's basically just a freaking go-kart track.

thekyledebacker: This needs to be some sort of probiwk event where they race go carts with limited cautions.

L Diamondz: At least Truex finally got a win. But, here?

S King: Pitiful .. I only made it a third of the way through, then gave up and turned it to Mayfair Witches …

Lorna Thompson: The best man/driver won Truex all the way

TomsterMusic: "Laps of Yellow! Laps of Yellow! Laps of Yellow! Laps of Yellow! Laps of Yellow! Laps of Yellow! Laps of Yellow! Laps of Yellow! Laps of Yellow! "Laps of Yellow! Laps of Yellow! Laps of Yellow! Laps of Yellow! Laps of Yellow! Laps of Yellow! Laps of Yellow! Laps of Yellow! Laps of Yellow!"

Karl Simmons: Not a great track, like Myrtle Beach track, looks like too many cars or too small track

Hokie Life: How about the 2 RCR cars finishing 2nd and 3rd

Armani Molinari: I hope ty Gibbs does great I like the villans I hope he embraces it

RJai48: Bubba back to throwing a fit and not being able to handle his emotions

Donko: Always feel like these highlights are really rushed, why is it squeezed in to 11 minutes? Good race from what i did see though!

Egon Evan Pirone.: Austin Dillon Did Great last Night

Drimc Smith The M&Ms Mix Fan: Was at the race, boy it was long.

K & M 351C: Thank heaven for PVR . This is not racing more like The Gong Show. Metals awarded, really. I can not picture Dale Earnhardt Sr standing there waiting for his metal after a race

Allen Cox: They should have titled this “ all the cautions at the clash “

Isaac Loudermilk: This race really blows go back to Daytona.

Garrett Church: They need to get the cautions under control. I was there in person and lot of people were leaving with 40 laps to go after the 20th caution came out

Jon Mitchell: Nobody has a team at the Coliseum anymore. I think they should use that structure build a race track on the outside of the coliseum and reverse the seating to be in the center of the track which would be on the outside of the Coliseum and then use the center as the stadium as concessions and have it set up with a true experience.

FlaBeardedOne: Nice job NASCAR! Who would of thought of racing stock cars on a go-kart track!

Motorsport crash and fail Net: Perfect

David Marcy Marcy: I thought Daytona was the first race of the year?

JoshAllenFan17YT: So cool to see Truex winning after last year being winless and missed the playoffs

Impeller: The entire highlights reel was nothing but spins. Would've been dreadful to watch live. Glad I went to bed after the heat races.

dimych 555: я понимаю,что этот drive,ради публики,но видно,что стадион подходит,для многих видов спорта,но не для nascar,вот richmond, ваще пофигу,там можно

Todd: Wake me up when it's down to 5 laps .

D1RGE.EXE: This event was as bad or worse than that first dirt race a few years ago that was a dusty crashfest. Please NASCAR, let's not do this again.

Logan Ward: at least the cool thing is Tony will be in the booth for the Daytona 500 as well which is very cool

Michael Pennington: It was a cool experiment but I don't think they should come back here next season. The race sucked and it looked like there might have been 15k people there tops. Fans in LA don't even show up for NFL I hardly think NASCAR is going to get a foothold there. I think Rockingham could be an interesting idea for an exhibition race. It was just repaved. Although it would probably be a tad chilly this time of year. Maybe the new Atlanta, take the plates off? I dunno I just don't see the point of doing this race again.

RonaldBackmarkersFan: Like too much crashing going on in this race.

Brandt Powden: Great race to start the year!!

Jake Harnock: One of the least enjoyable races i have ever watched

Patrick Young: This what happens when bad drivers are on a horrible circuit Surprised dum dums don’t enjoy it tho

Jason Okara: Never would thought I would have seen a Busch in Ralph's old number

CaneTV: 2023 and the quality of these videos is still in 720p what a joke

Max Gutierrez: I'm Impressed By RCR

Awesome Arizona: im sorry , but this is a sick excuse of a race, and i was born and raised LA. First of all, only half the seats had people in them at most, 2nd, the cars can barely drive in that tight environment, way too many cautions. in a city with about 12 MILLION people, you would think they could draw a crowd. What a waste of the teams valuable resources.

XBchazza435: Kyle Busch did well P3

SJS34: Princess Bubbles bumps everybody- That's okay good driving Chastain bumps 1 person- Typical Chastain always running everyone over Love the double standard

MR. MIRACLE MAN TM.: What a HUGE disappointment!! Bumper cars in a parking lot. I could not watch the "race". Are you trying to chase your fans away? Who was the "woke-clown" who dreamt this mess up? Need I say more?

No Name: Shout out the pride of New England :p

Chris B: What a pointless race track ‍♂️

Supreme Baller: the crash @the coliseum

Dan Steven: How can they consider this Nascar?

Montain GuiGui: Bravo Martin

PGBlips: How is this exciting lmao Where’s the racing? They’re just spinning each other out

Sandra Hunter: This is why I quit watching Nascar races, used to be a whole races and one winner. I don't like the stage races and playoffs, right along with racing on tracks like this.

Jose Azevedo: Yes!!.. Truex Jr.. the best driver...

Alan Davis: Did bubbles punch anybody after getting dumped. This track is too small for that many cars

Johnny Hefner: Went to sleep half way through, about as exciting as watching grass grow.

Rick Slaye: Bring it back to Daytona very boring race! By looks of them empty seats it might be a wise !

vince edwards: Haul all that racing equipment across the country.. spend all that money to make a track to have 3 hours of total manure.

Quah Zhian Zhen: MTJ comeback season

Ethan DeHoyos: I wanted to go but I work Sundays

Electric Gaming: My boy almost got that win I’m sure Dillion will have a great season

Tom Walker: place is half empty, should have been a one and done.

Daniel Lira: What a sad commentator. It sounds like he's narrating a wake. For God's sake!

uhadme: Drivers need to mind their Pints and Quarts? Your expert announcer needs to learn how to use a phrase in context. So hilariously out of context. Don't Drink And Drive

Mr DoctorToYou: These sound absolutely terrible with mufflers

vince edwards: Love the way the media claimed it was sold out.. half the bottom was covered with tarps and plenty of empty seats... where were all the liberals hanging out at while they were racing?

RandomAdventureMan: Can we all agree that this isn’t good racing? This gimmick is absolutely terrible, never make this a points race.

Joseph Armstrong: Bumper cars at the carnival. Not impressed.

Drake guth: How bout we never return to the coliseum ?

Tankster_74: I rather see nascar in Fontana

Tom The pokeman: So what track closed to make nascar open the Coliseum track? Just wondering

Hồng Phúc Nguyễn Bùi [phúc handsome]: I wish they had use the number in the center

Kevin Dickerson: This was a joke how many cautions ???

Fred Flinderman: I never thought I’d say this. But Gilmore Girls was better than this. I shut this race off and literally watched tv with the wife.
