Easy Curly Summer Ponytail - Protective Style Tutorial

Everybody, it's me Meg's and I'm here to do this come up summer, curly girl, ponytail, it's giving me mm vibes comment below. If you agree, I don't know why it's giving me like a mm vibes, but I did wash condition and air dried. My hair - I am a couple of weeks pull so you can see. I definitely have some texture going on with my air dried hair. It'S still a bit damp and I air dry, my hair overnight, and it's like loose bantu knot at my nape and to get this texture for my ponytail, I'm using her hair company Brazilian curly hair and I'm going to spray. Some rose water on this hair because later on, we're going to unravel the hair - and I didn't want it to get too puffy while I unravel it. So that's why I sprayed it with rose water just to dampen it up just a little bit. So my hair is air dried, like I said before, so I'm going to unravel this really loose bantu knot and I have so much new growth. It'S crazy, so I'm just gon na kind of gently unravel my hair and kind of loosen it up because, like I said, I do have a lot of new growth in there and I'm going to part my hair and a side part kind of like not too Deep, oh the side part, but you know you can do your part as deep or as you know, wherever you want to put it, you know you can do it wherever. So I'm gon na put mine towards the side a little bit and you can see my texture in there just a little bit, I'm also using a rake comb because it makes it so much easier to part your hair. When you have a lot of new growth or your natural just makes everything so much easier, so our part of my hair, in an L, shape just to give my parting and my pony tail. I need your appearance so now I'm going to use this care care, conditioning, cream, hair dress and it just adds shine. It actually helps kind of, like you know, mold your hair in the direction you want it to go, and especially, if you are a couple of weeks post and it adds a lot of great shine and hold also because I don't want to use hair spray on My hair and it's very moisturizing too, and I bought this from Target, so I am going to spray. Some rose water on my hairline and you can use regular water. I just find that I like using rose water to dampen my hair when I'm doing ponytails, because it just adds an extra sweetness and it helps me. You know, manipulate my hair a little bit better and I'm using Karin cares a clear protein gel. It'S a super holding drill and I need it being that I am, I believe, in this video I'm at least eight weeks post relaxer, so this Jill holds like no other, and I purchased this from my local community supply store as well. So I'm going to put just a small amount of gel all on my hair line and in the partying area. Just so I can get a nice sleek look and I like this gel because it doesn't really flake up or anything, and it definitely gives me a great hold. So I'm just going to apply that to my hair and the fact that my hair is damp. It also gives a better finish also, so I'm just going to keep putting it on there just a little neater and I'm just going to brush the gel into my hair, and all I got asked about this brush before. Please excuse the hairs on the brush as well, but this brush is almost 30 years old. I have no clue where my mom got this brush from, but it just works. It just gathers all the hair and it just does what it needs to do. I just know it's by goodie, so this brush is like 30 years old, so I'm sure you can find a similar brush at your local beauty supply store, but I'm just kind of brushing my hair in the direction where I want it to go, and you know Just brush my hair into a ponytail and I'm not going to have my ponytail like too hard it's going to be kind of like closer to my name, a little bit, because I want it kind of like low and I'm going to apply. You know some gel wherever I feel like. I need it like that and I'm going to continue to brush just to make sure it's all good like that, and I want to take an out list. Hair rubberband and I'm just going to well. First, put some gel on my maids area, so look at me slick is now I'm going to use the ouchless hairband. I highly suggest those because they are snag proof and I wrap it around a couple times, but not too tight and I'm going to put my hair into a bantu knot. I actually wear my hair like this pretty much all the time anyway, you don't have to attach the ponytail bundle, but I mean if you want to wear your hair like this, like I do all the time you can it's a great protective style, so I'm just Going to add the ponytail on top of there, so this kind of like protects my hair, make sure it doesn't get dry and all that good stuff. So now I'm going to manipulate my hairline to get my baby hair. It'S going. I don't have much of a hairline and never have so I'm just creating some wispy wisps, not no extreme grown woman's hairs that people do. This is actually wispy babe here, okay, don't do no bangs and all them swirly swirl, just you know, manipulate your hairline where it looks kind of natural. Like, oh I just just like this. You know I just you know brush didn't just live like this. You don't want people to think if you really put gel in your edges and it's just like swirls now it's time for the personality pin. You know we're really excited about that and I'm going to cut the ribbon off the bundle and I'm gon na slowly unravel this, because I don't want this here to get really poofy um just yet because you know you're unraveling the bundle. So you want to make sure that the curls stay poppin, you know and define. So that's why I'm unraveling it very gently and I didn't unravel the bundle all the way I made sure it still folded in half because we're just going to wrap it around. My pony tail, so you can see the weft is kind of like doubled because I didn't unfold it and I'm just going to secure it with a bobby pin on that side. Just the regular bobby pin and I'm just going to wrap it around my pony tail and just make sure you don't do this too tight either and I didn't die the bundle or anything it actually matched. My hair color pretty pretty closely my hair. Isn'T black a lot of people think my hair is black? Like I put a wrench on and I actually don't, it's actually like a really dark brown, but it's really dark um in a match, so I'm just gon na wrap it all the way around until the bundles fully wrapped, like so and I'm gon na take a Piece on the bottom and I'm gon na wrap that hair around the ponytail, because I don't want anyone to know like to see my you know the weft and things where I attach the ponytail. You don't want there. No, you don't want that. So I'm just gon na secure it with a bobby pin like that, and I only use three bobby pins in total. You may need to use more depending on how thick your hair is, but I find here so it held pretty nicely so this was a 22 inch bundle. So it's quite long and I'm going to spray some more rosewater, because you see the ends got a little bit puffy from manipulating. So I'm just gon na, like kind of press, the hair in with the water and all that next you can see it comp, tamed it down and the curls came back and you can see it's like a one length ponytail. But what I'm gon na do? I'M going to split my ponytail in half and I'm going to cut into this point to a little bit, because I want more of a v-shape which I feel looks more natural because I feel like people with curly hair. There here isn't one length when they put it in a ponytail. So that's why that's why I cut into it a little bit and I wanted it to kind of look not so perfect. All right, I wanna look like. I just threw my hair in a ponytail like you look like this. Is my curly hair, but you you don't bang it. So I feel, like that, looks a little more natural and that's pretty much it and, as you can see, the curls are really defined. I feel like this is really really cute for the summertime or even, if you're like going on vacation, and you just want to look real like chill and effortless, and I'm gon na put a little um oil sheen also by caracaras, smells so good. I got this from Target a while back for me. So did I target - and I didn't add too much oil sheen to the hair itself, because I don't want to weigh it down or anything, but I definitely wanted to add a bit of shine and, as you can see, it's a really really cute. You know um hairstyle, I saw janae had this hair cell phone on the I'm gon na. Try it so, as you can see, the curls are really defined to you like that. This hair is so so so pretty so you could even leave it like this. To have a real kind of like sleek defined look or you can kind of like manipulate into the point. L for kinda, like a more wild and crazy textured. Look I feel like. I would do this more so in the night time, if I want to be a little bit more dramatic, as you can see like once, you start to manipulate in the hair it becomes bigger, so you can get really dramatic with it. If you want to - and I really really love this look - I think it's so cute, so you can see the more you kind of manipulate in the ponytail, the larger we'll get. So it's totally up to you and what look you're going for, I feel like this is going to be super cute for the summer time and, like I said, if you're going on vacation, it's super cute as well, and you can do so.
