**** This synthetic hair did not last me very long at all before looking old! :/ ****

Hey guys it's you today, i will be putting my hair kind of away the first time that i'm not styling it to just wear it out. So i'm like excited to see how that process will be my hair. I just finished washing it. So, let's begin with this entire hairstyle, i want it to be as minimal product and as easy and simple as possible. I know a lot of times when you have shorter, hair and you're trying to put it in a bun. It looks like you have to go through a lot of steps, so i just wanted the easiest way for me to put my hair in a bun with very little product and very little like going in sections just the simplest way to put your short forcy hair In a low ponytail, i knew it'd be a lot easier for me to work on my hair. While it was damp - and i just section off the first braid that i'm going to braid - put some conditioner in it leave in to make it have some slip and then i realized i had to go back and detangle my hair board. Currently, in my natural hair journey, i've only been finger detangling mostly so i was like no. I need to actually thoroughly detangle in order for me to have a smooth time, braiding my natural hair. This is my first time actually braiding my natural hair. I added more conditioner and i added more water as well, because i knew that having conditioner mixed with my hair being on the wetter side helped allow for slit. It was much more easy for me to braid it once i did. That and one thing that's super super important whenever you're braiding your hair, make sure and feel for yourself and don't braid too tight, like especially around this area, your edges that is going to be causing tension so as in braiding, you could just see me like checking. I would move my eyebrows and make sure that if i move my head in a certain way, i wouldn't feel tension on my edges and i have a tutorial on how i cornrow and i can also make an updated one on how i do on natural hair. You can also just do twists instead of cornrowing, for this style, i'm going to braid now a second braid, i'm essentially just trying to make it as easy as possible to put it in a ponytail without having to put too much stress or tension or like gel Or stuff like to be able to just go like this with whatever's left, because this will still be too much to try. I think the style will turn on good and after i section off this braid, i just thoroughly detangled it off camera with more conditioner and water. But as i was in the bathroom doing that re-wetting it i was thinking like um. Now that i'm natural, i wonder if now i use protective styling to grow, my hair will change guys. To be honest, this is the most manipulation i've had to put on my hair, since i went natural like to put it in this low manipulation style with my other hairstyles, i just finger combed and like finger detangled, and i never had to like. There was just wasn't as much manipulation involved, so i kind of feel like right now i am doing so much to it. So that's just an interesting point that i thought of like i feel like twists. Definitely would have made this better like less manipulation and honestly, i feel like twists, might have even come out better, but maybe next time i'll do this with just twists, because whenever i twist my hair, i don't feel like it's that much manipulation compared to cornrowing it Because i don't have to get my hair uh completely completely detangled before i put it in twists because there's like less mechanics involved, okay, this braid is coming out so much better than the first one. I think it just takes practice. So i'm just going to put a ponytail around these two braids to make sure that they don't unravel the rest of my hair is dry at this point. I'M just going to bring my hair with some water so now, for the moment of truth to see if i'll be able to easily put my hair and i'm going to tell let's see if i can do this and get it to all stay down yeah this Section does not want to at all, but it's okay. I could braid it on that side, but that's not the style i was going. Let me just do bobby pins, but i have to look for my body paint, no matter how many times i repurchase bobby pins. I always lose them, but i managed to find a total of four in my room, so i used that to pin down some of my hair and i put it back in the ponytail, but as you can see, it was still like parts are still sticking up. Okay, so i will use gel. Yes, i just put a thin layer of gel only on the top part of my hair and then what i did next. My hair wasn't like as smooth as i wanted it to be on top, so i just barely gently took my brush and like smoothed it out, i wasn't actually combing it all the way through. I was just getting the very very top surface so that it would be smoother a little bit. Parts are still fluffing up, but i think i can use less fewer bobby pins to stick down with this sticking up. There we go yeah, my camera died, but while i was waiting for it to charge, i took it upon myself to find a scarf and tie this down like that, will help it lay flat and keep it from poofing up but anyways the hair that i'm gon Na use for the ponytail so tell me why, in my search for a 4c natural looking ponytail, they don't exist. At least i couldn't find one like if you can, if you have one that actually looks for like 4c here, let me know, but the ones i was seeing were like 4a, maybe a little bit for the at most. So i tried this hair. I was scrolling from amazon and i saw this crochet here. I could have just used my regular crochet hair, but i saw the specific this specific crochet hair. That would already be the perfect length and everything - and i got it - it looked really natural looks kind of like forcing here. I put a picture of it here. That picture is a scam, because when i got it it looked like. Let me open it for you guys. This is what it looks like. I guess it's not that bad, but let me see if you guys can see it closer. I just i guess i was expecting it to look different. I was thinking what can i do? Basically, i just took my fingers through it and fluffed it out to get it to look a little bit closer to my hair texture. This isn't my hair texture, but i think it'll still look good, so yeah. I just went like that. Get it to look a little bit more real and i think i'm going to use two and combine them. I like big hair. It comes with this silver thing on it, so i'm just going to leave that like that, i'm going to use this as a ponytail. This was also like three dollars. It was really really cheap. It looked that the ponytail is like oh wrapping. This actually helped a lot now we wrapped it for like 10 minutes, but yeah um. It looks much more smooth but yeah i'll say the ponytails that i found were a lot more expensive and they didn't look as natural. They looked too curly like coils. It just wasn't the look i was going for so now. I'M going to get this put it on my little ponytail i'll, get a ponytail and then i'll. Stick it through the middle of this and then i'll use this and i'll use this okay. So i just wrapped that black ponytail around twice, i think i'm gon na bobby, pin it up so it stays. This looks so good. This came out. I think it came out perfect. This could last me a good two weeks very simple. I love it yeah. Thank you guys so much for watching this video. I hope you enjoyed this and i'll. See you in the next one. Please you

Eunice Odiase: Great tutorial and thanks! I'm also new to my natural 4c hair journey. Would love to see more simple hairstyles for short 4c hair (especially that can conceal struggling edges). Thanks, Seun!

Idowu Ajayi: This looks good! And you've given me an idea on how to get all my hair in a low ponytail - braid the front of my hair! I also have 4c hair about the same length as yours and trying to sleek everything down into a ponytail can be a pain! Thanks for the tip

Mara Ellis: I cut my hair a few months ago and I miss the length so I've been mini twisting and mini braiding my hair as well as my ponytail. I then do a nice low bun and it gives a nice casual look. Ponytails have been a lifesaver, but for anyone wanting to do ponytails frequently REMEMBER to go for the low tension styles! I love the ponytail on you, the style looks so cute!

🌻Sunshine🌻: This style looks great on you, I loved it.

Marcy Wise: Thank you so much for this video! Your hair came out so beautiful, and I really appreciate how you kept it real AND were100% honest about how your hair sticks up and any issues you were having while styling it. You look GORGEOUS! Any chance I can get a link to that pony you used?

O. Jay: When my hair was natural, I never used gell when it wasn't necessary. And my hair shrinked too much when I wet it. And this was what I did to be able to hold a pony; I used tailoring tread, double or triple it, wrap it and tie only once starting from my edges, and pull slowly still it holds the pony. The process stretches out the hair and holds a nice pony. Also you can use rubber tie (band) for the same process too.

J Mcginn: I suggest heat free hair. They are a black owned business and they have very high quality hair extensions. They have 4c ponytails, clip ins, upart, everything. All of their hair seems to default to a dark brown/color 4 so I usually dye the hair but they are my current fave black owned business (natural girl wigs is also great, based in West Africa, so longer delivery time, slightly lower quality than Heat Free Hair but also cheaper. I also use kinkycurlyyaki as another black owned business). Love following you Seun!! I'm going to try this low bun but with clip ins.

Joyann B: This look suits you so well. Loving the natural hair content

tofu: Wow Seun you look very gorgeous with this hairstyle! Love it!

MeInternally: When I say my mouth dropped! I love this and I love how the twists can be a protective style as well.

LaDonna Sims: You're very beautiful, you know how to do hairstyles, protective hairstyle and protective hairstyles. I learn so much watching your videos. Much love and God bless you ❤️

Patbro Bro: Welcome to the world of 4C kinks. I too low porosity hair and it’s a struggle trying to find minimal products on sensitive scalp. Coconut oil was the only oil that really made my 4c pop, BUT it made my scalp itch! So ANYTHING that works for my body, i’m allergic to. The natural hair journey is real. I’ve jumped on the protective crochet hair train, till my fro hits my shoulders (wish me luck), then it’s finding a REAL natural hair stylist to consult a simple n go for low porosity natural.

Bendu: I watching this again to style my hair for Christmas, but I made my own ponytail from crochet hair. I got the ponytail cap and combs from Amazon.

Renee Liverson: I love your hair You always have amazing Hairstyles in mind

Pridencia Ns: I love how everything on you are naturally ❤️

Olerato Modise: ☝The fact that Seun struggled to get her hair to be in a ponytail..yes..me too Now i know how to get it to be a ponytail.

Mercy Nwani: You can actually use a brush on your natural brain when you want to style it. Just do it in sections line by line it allows the hair to relax a a little. Also Maybe the night before you start your hair put it into simple braids before you sleep Maybe like 2 or four by the time you're ready to style it's easier. It's sometimes hard to care for Natural hair but you seem to be doing a good job at it

favour ogunniranye: I love this! Please can you provide the link to get that hair extension or a similar one?

Andrew Clervil: Test protective style with low manipulation like knotless box braids or passion twist, crochet locs, butterfly locs, soft locs.

Sheago Cosmetics: You are such a pretty child. You have an absolutely Be-You-tiful Face. OMG. And from the Atlanta/Nigerian natural beauty home team, we must say, “You didn’t even need the add on piece.” You looked perfect with the style pre-the fake stuff. You are just lovely, inside & out.

Kylie: Can you do a video on how to slay baby hairs & cut baby hairs? And a video on how to get your edges slicked back straight for a pony tail or bun without using heat? Everytime I do a pony tail and use gel my new growth waves up & I cant seem to figure out how to get it slicked straight. I see these girls with curlier hair than I have & they get their ponys slicked back straight lol I'm mixed & relaxed & just started stretching relaxers to try to see if I can go natural for the first time in my life & I have almost 4 inches of tight wavy new growth only in the front (the most coarsest part of my hair is my front edges/ front hair line in the front the rest of my new growth is looser curls & some of my roots are even straight in some spots. I would love seeing some tutorials on this.
