Hey guys, what's up its me shadow and welcome back to my channel today, I'm gon na be showing you guys how I do a slicked-back ponytail now I do have 4b 4c textured hair, but I kind of cheated because I decided to blow out my hair and Performance on stretched hair, even though I put in a water-based gel product. The reason I did that is because, if you guys are familiar with my channel, I recently kind of soared a big chop to my hair and my hair is all different lengths. So I just wanted to stretch the hair so that I could make sure everything was caught in the ponytail and I wanted my hair to be as sleek as possible. So right now, I'm parting, my hair into threes, two front parts and then a back part. The reason I do this is because it ensures that my hair is laid to its maximum potential. Naturally, I take my eco styler gel. This is just the regular one. I did not buy any of the fancy ones. I feel like this. One works just fine for me and I take a big glop of it and I started with the back section of my hair and I just kind of like press it down onto my hair. I mean if you have done this before you know what I'm talking about, and I use my paddle brush and I just comb through, and I just continue to do that until I feel my hair is straight and I bring my hands over my hair. A bunch of times to continue to make sure it's down, and then I take my banana clip. I think that's what that's called and I move on to the next section. So when it comes to the front section, I usually part it in two as well to ensure the flatness of this style, and I just go through with the eco styler gel my paddle brush and I just detangle and start to bring the hair down. And when I apply the gel, I apply it to the top and bottom part of the section so that the hair can lay as flat as possible. I'M one of those people who is such a Virgo and a perfectionist that I need my hair to lay as flat as possible. So you know I do I run my comb throughout. I run my powder brush. Do it as many times as possible to make sure that my hair is flat? I mean, of course it's not gon na be flat flat flat because I have thick hair and I have you know the coil is tight, is what is it curl pattern? But you know as long as I get it as flat as possible, and then I my scarf over it, I feel pretty satisfied with the look overall. I also want to mention that I interchangeably went between the clip and the scrunchie to ensure that, while I was working on a section, I kept the other sections flat, because the worst thing is when the gel starts to take in the hair, and it makes it Hair super curly and then your hair starts to get really really big, but I feel like only people with you know, really tight textures and like curly hair, understand that problem anyways. I twist up the back and I take a little rubber band and I put it into a very, very small bun to prep for the ponytail taking my oil sheen spray. I think this is from Oris. I just spray it all over. My hair, I take some gel and I go on to the back parts that couldn't get caught in the ponytail, and I also take a little bit of gel and just go over the sides. And then I take my satin scarf and I just put my hair up so that it can be laid because I was getting ready for bed anyways before I got ready for bed. I was taking the ponytail, I had washed it out and I decided to detangle it now. This point is from Dola hair company and personally I it's a good pony to know, but it did shed a lot, but at the end of the day I still had a lot of hair in it. So if I had to rate it on a scale from one to ten, I would honestly give it a 6, but as far as like you know, having a quick style and not having to wrap tracks around your ponytail and not have like that. Heaviness on your head, I feel like it is a great thing, but you could also go to your local beauty, supply, store and pick up a ponytail. You feel me so, but if you don't want to do that and you want like real hair, then this is a great option for you as well, so taking my edge brush from the beauty supply store. I actually really love this edge brush because it has the brush and the cone. I just wish. There was like a tail comb part to it. I'M just finessing my edges. I really wish I could have caught a better angle of it, because the way the bathroom was set up, I couldn't but honestly I just did swoops for the most part and then for to other parts like kind of in the inner corner near my temples. I did like little circles because I feel like it gives like a really cute Betty Bob Betty Boop, whatever her name is kind of style, and I love Styles like that, and I also bring the side of him like my little sideburns down, because I feel like I'M Josephine Baker in this whole. You know me so yeah bt-dubs, if you do not know who Josephine Baker is, you are temporarily canceled and your black card is temporarily revoked until you prove to me that you know who sis is back to regular scheduled programming, you guys are just seeing me applied The Dola hair company drawstring ponytail, I take the top clip and I put it at the top part, and then I take the bottom clip and of course I apply it underneath and then I pull on the drawstring until I feel like it is the desired tightness. Um, you don't want to be too tight because you don't want a headache, but you know you just do what is good for you. I wrap it around and then I flip my head over and I took the you know that plastic piece underneath and then I take some hair from the back. I stretch it out and I just go over it because just in case like you could have left it as such, but I just decided to go over with this because I feel like it ensures that the look is seamless and then I go in with my Fingers and I am fluffing the hair, I'm kind of teasing it out, because I want my ponytail to look really really big, and this is pretty much the bold look. I hope you guys enjoy it um. This is what it looked like when I wrapped it around. In case you wanted to wear it in a bun, but you know I wasn't doing that, but um yeah. This is what it looks like
