How To: Sleek High Ponytail For All Hairtypes 2019

Hi guys welcome back to my channel. For those of you don't know, my name is MJ and for those of you do welcome back again, so today's video is going to be a video of me showing you how I put on a drawstring ponytail. I have in the past you clip in extensions to make the long long ponytail in my previous videos, but today I'm going to be using something very simple and easy so that everyone can catch on and do it themselves at home. So I'm pretty tall, so I'm gon na scooch a little bit and then I'm going to stop talking and let the voiceover speak and I'm going to start over the video and show you so guys. Here'S the box that the ponytail came in it is from the sassy collection from Sally beauty, supply store. This is the straight drawstring ponytail and it is in the color when be off black in the style straight and it's 26 inches long well. Here we have the edge control that I used. It'S called the control paste by Aveda and I love this edge control. It'S wonderful! You guys should definitely get it. So this is how long the ponytail is. It'S 26 inches once again and it is synthetic. So it does get a little tangled, so you definitely want to take care of it and not put any product in it. So it has two Clips one at the top one at the bottom and you just kind of have to like comb it out a little bit. So I have a ton of hair and it's really really thick. So I had to try my best to get the smallest possible bun that I could - and this is what I got so I'm going to take the ponytail and I'm going to kind of just play with it a little bit to see. What'S the most comfortable. For me, with this particular ponytail, because you don't want it to be on your head and be uncomfortable a lot of times, ponytails can give you headaches, they give me headaches and that's the worst you want do not want it to be too tight. So I'm just gon na like try it a couple times and see what is the most comfortable for me and, as you see here, I'm hooking the clips into the top part of my hair, like before you get to the ponytail and that's a lot more comfortable For me than it is to clip it on to the ponytail, because it doesn't feel that secure when you do it that way. So now that I have the ponytail in a comfortable position on my head, it's super long and super thick, and here I have a bobby pin and I'm just gon na use the bobby pin to make it look a little bit more realistic. So I'm going to take a piece from the back of the ponytail and I'm just gon na wrap it around to kind of cover up that area. Where I clip the ponytail on my head in the front - and it's just gon na make it look a little bit more realistic and not as dramatic and also just keep in mind that this ponytail is synthetic. This ponytail costs $ 19.99 from Sally's Beauty Supply Store. Maybe a little bit cheaper now because I did see some other prices for different colors that were a little bit cheaper than this one. So what i'm doing here is i'm going to take my bobby pin and i'm going to pin it from behind the ponytail so that you can't see it and normally, if i was like going somewhere, I would put several bobby pins in my hair just to make Sure that this was secure and that I wasn't going anywhere because the worst thing in the world is to have your ponytail fly off because you didn't secure, so yeah definitely make sure you secure it. So now I'm just gon na go over the ponytail and just look at it to make sure everything is in place and as you see it is tangling a little bit. So I kind of just use my fingers to comb through it. While it's on my head here, I have my Tresemme hairspray and I'm just gon na spray, this on hernán the ponytail to make sure that I don't have any flyaways that are looking crazy or out of place. So now I'm going to be quiet and let you guys see the ponytail and I will be back to close out the video so guys.
