I've been rocking this hairstyle on Instagram recently, and it's none other than one of my drawstring ponytails. It gets pretty tricky for me to mold my natural hair into a sleek high ponytail, especially when adding straight hair to it. So, I pulled out my secret weapons to show you how I achieve a fool-proof, SLICK ponytail.

Hey babes, it's Jodi Ann and welcome back to my channel, alright guys. So here's how I do my sleek ponytail on natural hair, with no heat you can start with wet or dry hair, but I just washed my hair, so it has no product in it. I'M just gon na add some leave-in conditioner and I'm gon na apply some eco styler gel just to help mold my hair. I apply the product very liberally and the eco styler gel really helps my hair when I'm styling it, but since I'm doing a straight ponytail, I use it as like a base. So I can go on top of that with some more gel, my secret weapon that you guys will see in a minute if your hair is easy to manage. You can stop here, but my hair is so stubborn and never get straight. So my edges do not leave so this is what I've been using to get my ponytail super slick. This is the got to be ultra glued styling gel it's a maximum strength, Joe and it does get sticky. So I make sure I have a napkin to wipe off the excess product, so it does not build up on my hand, so you're gon na take two really good rubber bands. These are the ones without any metal on them. So they're not gon na pull your hair out, and you want to secure your hair into a nice high ponytail and then you can add some more gel revise it and do this as many times as possible. Until all the sides of your hair are nice and smooth next, I flicked down those baby hairs with some more got to be glue gel, and I also used some dried out mascara, I'm just trying to make my forehead appear a little bit smaller here, another secret Weapon I used is the got to be glued blasting free spray, and this helps to set my hair and I'm also gon na apply some oil spray because the gel can dry your hair out. So I want to combat that. I'M gon na double start my hair to set it in place, and ideally you want to do this overnight and finally, I take my 30-inch per Miyake ponytail. I also have a shorter version of this. Any straight ponytail would work, but if you guys want me to do a styling video, please thumbs up this video and let me know so. I try on my ponytail to see like what side I want it to lay on and then I just take the two clips. I clip both sides and I pull the drawstring and then secure it away and to create the illusion that this is my hair. I just take a piece and wrap it around the ponytail and secure it with a bobby pin and there you have it guys. My super easy drawstring ponytail for natural hair. I would definitely be lying if I said that my hair was actually dry, but if you want to go through with a blow, dryer feel free to use cool air. This is still easier than blow dry. My own hair trust me, but you want to smooth it down and, as you can see, it's pretty slick it's about as slick as I can get and mind you. The gel is gon na dry into place. It can get a little hard and crunchy, which is why I would only limit this to like three days, maybe a week max, but I would say it definitely keeps my hair in place. While I wear my ponytails, it's not gon na frizz up or get curly. So that's good, but I hope you guys enjoy the tutorial thumbs up if you liked it don't forget to.
