Day 10 : Jumbo Braid Ponytail On Short Natural Hair (Super Sleek , Beginner Friendly )

Me all right guys, so i did this braid on me and everyone was asking me how i did it. I been recorded this tutorial, but i'm finally posting it for vlogmas, so yeah, let's get into it, what's up youtube, it's your girlfriend journey and i'm back with another video and, as you already see by the title today, i'm gon na have a video on this braid That y'all been asking me for. I recently just tried to do this because i hadn't undo my hair and i didn't want breaking the braids. I didn't want to went away, didn't want to wear my real hair. I didn't want to wear nothing else, so i decided to try this out. I seen somebody do it and i was like. I think i could do that. I was gon na pay, somebody to do it, but i was like no. I think i know how to do that. So if you want to try out this style, stay tuned um, it didn't take much. I am 100 natural, a lot of y'all, don't think i'm natural, but i am 100 natural. I don't get relaxes or anything like that, but if you do get relaxing or if you're natural, 4c, 4a 3c in no matter what texture you'll be able to do this. Just as long as you tie your hair down, that's the key to this, but um yeah. Oh [ __ ]. I didn't think about what vlogmas that i'm posting actually is a whole different break from the video that i filmed, because i've been ripping and running and i never got a chance to film the outro or the intro. So here i am um in the future, filming the outro in the intro, but i'm gon na start rambling um. If you guys want to see how i got this look so sleek, please stay tuned for the video and yeah. Let'S go ahead and get to the video i start out with freshly cleaned blow, dried hair and basically what i do first is pull out my edges now, y'all don't get on me too bad. I know my edges are kind of thin. I know somebody come in the comments and be like dang girl, where your edges at i have edges still, but they are kind of thin from just wear and tear and traction and just all the different stuff. So lay me some slack, but i just washed my hair and blow-dried it i barely blow-dried it that's why it's hard to brush through what i learned over the courses of being natural is to separate your hair into two: do not try and put your hair in A ponytail all at once. I personally don't do that. Here'S the step, if you don't want your hair super duper sleek, but i want my hair super duper sleek, so i'm finna hot comb it just a little at the root. That'S where the top don't get so hot. It'S like it feels the same temperature, whether it's on 1 or 15., but this is gon na help flatten your head just a little. You can even flatter your hair. If that's your personal preference me personally, my hair kind of lays easily by itself you're gon na decide how far back or how far you know up you want it. I don't want my bun. I don't want my braid to sit directly on my head. I kind of want to see like an angle, so i just flatter. Maybe the perimeter and that'll be good okay. So now that i got it, however y'all i need to clean off my hair products, like my edge brushes. My brushes, like i, have a bad habit of not cleaning them over. This is step. I messed up on oil. Oil is going to be essential and stopping your uh edge control from turning white, so spray a little bit of oil on your hair, not too much, but just enough. I got some oil sheen spray, i'm scared because it turned so white and it was so cute. So that's why i had to take it out, but oops just go in with a little bit of oil. A little bit of tab puts on my ends to protect those and now i'm gon na go ahead and with the edge control. So i'm just licking my hair back making sure it's smooth, um and everything like that. Just brushing it and getting it all together, see how you don't have to flatten your whole head to get it that sleek, like you literally, can just flatten the very front and it'll be sleek. I feel like those ponytails are too harsh on your hair. For you to flat on your whole neck on head, oh look! How sleek it is yeah! I don't mind my edges. They in the process of growing back, because how i used to apply wigs. It just wasn't it for my hair, but i'm sorry if i turned a little turned away a little bit, i'm just trying to make sure it's completely okay, so go over honey tail holder, not a rubber band ponytail that has better hold up as tight as you Can you don't have to do it very tight, but i like my ponytails tight now, you may have a little bit of like my ponytail is not completely flat, but over the time putting my hair in a ponytail. It won't get completely fat. So i just have to deal with it and just let it be because it's not going to get like perfect how i want it to um, go with oil immediately now the back you're gon na take it out the ponytail um brush it up just a little Bit my back is my most coarsest part of my hair. Like put my hot corn as y'all, see, i hate the hot comb i burnt myself and i got a burn mark at the back of my neck now, but yeah, i'm just hot combing, my hair, trying to get a little sleep because i mean my hair, not Bad, but just to sleek it a little bit, i'm gon na pull some little curvies out in the back, because i like how that looks and see this is my hair just blow dry and it already looks flattering. That'S the crazy part, like i said, don't take much for my hair. So to help you put your ponytail together, it's easiest to tie your hair at the top i mean my hair isn't the longest, but i still have trouble like getting a good grip on my ponytail. So i like to do that. Oh i didn't put no oil. Okay, let's get still oil essential, so your hair, don't so your hair, don't um turn right on you, but another thing: the edge control is not going to be as effective, but i rather have my head, as you can see, i'm just getting my hair super sleek And smooth so it'll be flat and just look, you know dang near perfect because i'm a perfectionist, i'm really not a perfectionist, but i do want it to look good, so i'm just putting to a ponytail. It was a little bit of lumps, but it still was. Okay, my hair, really not as flat in the back as i wanted so again. Don'T add me: i flatter my edges to curl them a little bit arrogant tay. Does it so first, oh girl, dramatic, but anyways. I curl my edges, don't get on me because i know how y'all will talk about people and so yeah. I just think it makes my edges swoop easier and better, and so that's what y'all see me doing and swooping on and making sure they look good and cute and just fleeky so yeah, that's what i'm doing and yeah like edges are pretty simple. I do want my edges to be thicker and i'm working on it, but it's just i mean it's. Hair it'll grow it'll do what it want to do, but yeah say my edge is not on fleek bruh say they ain't, you can't you can't, and i could you could leave like that. Do a cute little bun, which is what i would do if i didn't want something you know extra but yeah, i do like those back curls. So that's what y'all see me doing, curling the back of my hair. I just think it's cute. I see other styles and stuff do it, so i decided to do it on myself and i think it was cute. So the main part of this is tying your hair down. That'S what's going to lock the style in place, but yeah. That'S what y'all see me doing and just brushing out my hair. I use braiding hair that comes like in a three pack. It'S i'm going to show it in a minute. I haven't showed it yet, but pre in the thing all you gon na do is take two. It depends on how thick or how clean you want. Your ponytail. I prefer thick braids. I don't like no fan braid, so i just got this three pack. It'S 30 inches and for the top, because you can do it thicker at the top and it could gradually turn thinner, um and imma feed part of this braid in once i get lower. But let me you must know how to braid to do this. I really can't explain how you braid, but to braid you literally just part it in three sections and just braid it together. Like i don't i don't know how to explain it. You pull the piece out because that's the piece that's going to be wrapped around it. The hair tie to make it look more natural, not natural, but more professional, but um yeah, i'm just brightening the hair down all the way down, and that's just what y'all see me doing, don't braid it as tight as me. I usually don't braid it that tight, but i don't know what i was thinking to braid it tight, but yeah. Do it a little looser, so it'll look thicker and fuller and just more natural all around. I can't stand no thin braided ponytail, like i said so when you bout to feed the hairy, just take the hair pop the rubber band off of it. Don'T keep it on this time and then just i can't explain this part, but literally you're. Just going to add it and kind of twist the other parts around it, i hope y'all can see what i'm doing, but kind of twist it around and just braid all the way down, and it's kind of going to lock it in with the rest of the Hair and create a new braid, you can feed in as much hair as you want to, depending on how long you want your braid, but i just wanted it like 30 inches, not too long, though once you're done with your braid. Your final step is taking that piece that you took out and wrapping it around and that's just going to seal this, the ponytail in place and just make it look completed and just more, you know what i'm saying not elegant, but y'all get what i'm trying to Say - and i think it looks 10 times better - it doesn't have to be perfect, but i think it looks really good and yeah. That'S how i did this, i'm stretching it out. I kind of did it too tight, so it was like that, but definitely braided a little looser because i did braid it too tight. But if y'all see the end of the video that braid was looser, because that was a different break that i did but yeah y'all get the overall picture. If you braid your braid real tight, it's gon na be a little stiff. I don't like stick braids at all. I mean it's not terrible, but i don't like that, so i'm gon na dip it in hot water. You know when you get box, braids and dip it. I'M gon na do that. But, besides that, it's done so cute cute cute little kid, but yeah, i'm gon na put on some clothes. Okay, guys.
