Beginner Friendly: How To Do A Long Sleek Curly Braid Ponytail On Short 4C Natural Hair!!!|Mona B.

Hey i'm because we're going to jump right in i'm starting off on old, dirty hair, so i'm just going to spray my hair with some water because it's starting to like dry out and i need to be able to loosen it on up yeah. I know how that go, so i'm just going to move that water around with my hands. Then i'm gon na go ahead and take some olive oil and i'm gon na apply that to my hair. Just to kind of you know shield my hair or whatever. So anyway, so i'm just gon na go ahead and part a section from front to back and then we're going to clip that front section and put it away use whatever jelly you would like. But i will be using the edge booster gel and i will be using a generous amount because i'm trying to get my hair super sleek. So we're going to start on that back section. So i'm just going to apply the gel and smooth it into my hair. With my hands and i'm going to take my brush and brush it in really really good because we're doing a low braid this time y'all know the last time i did it. I did a little bit higher, but i want to just take it low. Take it low so we're going to put it all the way down and when i get it to how i want it to be, you know i'm going to gather it up and put it into a ponytail so crazy, like now that my hair is getting longer. It'S actually harder to lay it down, then versus when it was super short because there's a lot more hair now. So i have to really like make sure i'm smoothing it and getting it like smooth and really really good. So then, i'm just going to go ahead and put that back section into a ponytail and then we're going to turn to the front and start working on that section as you guys a while ago in the community tab. If i should do a side, part or a middle part and y'all hold it for a middle part, so, as you guys can see, i'm part of my hair, i combed out my baby hairs and now i'm just applying the gel and i'm just making sure i'm Getting my part as like clean as possible, i'm applying the gel and then i'm just going to smooth that in with my hand, and with my brush, you do it in sections so that your hair can get super super sleek, because a lot of times when natural Hair, i know it likes to rise up. So if you do it this way, your hair should definitely lay down, and then i'm just going to make sure i'm brushing the hair and smoothing it going back and i'm going to do the same thing on each side. Alright guys so once i get my hair off sleek and slick, i went ahead and took the back ponytail out, so i could gather all the hair and put it back together. You don't have to do that um, but i just decided to do it that way. Normally i'll add another hair tie, but i just didn't want to do that. So i'm just making sure i got my hair all sleek and slick, and i am going to add some got7 spray - make sure that my hair is extra secure and it's going to lay down i'm going to apply two scarves on my head, because you know when Y'All do a little ponytail. You want to make sure it's nice and sleek. So now it's the next day and i'm going to go ahead and lay down my baby hairs with the edge of booster pomade and, as you guys can see, my hair is really slick. So i'm just going ahead and get my edges together. It'S on my edges down, so the hair that i'll be using for the braid is the bobbi boss, king 3x, ocean wave and 28 inches, and i got it in the color number two. I thought the texture on it was really really pretty so i was like i'm definitely gon na go ahead and use this you guys. So this is just what it looks like, and i took two of the bundles put them together and now i'm laying a hair tie across and pulling it through, because that is what we're going to attach to our real bun. I'M going to go ahead and work on our braid, so i attached the braid to the doorknob and i'm gon na spray. Some freeze spray on it to help with the frizziness, because y'all know how like hair, that has like a wave twitter texture can get really really frizzy and then i'm literally just gon na split it into three and start braiding. So when you are braiding this hair, you guys your braid is going to be a little twisted, because this hair has a lot of waves in it. But that's okay! That'S the look that i was personally going for, but you can use like a regular braiding hair that doesn't have any texture. But i really wanted to use this braiding hair because i wanted to have a curl on the end and i thought that would be really cute. You guys probably won't be able to tell on camera, but this hair has like a lot of texture to it. Like a lot of waves in it, not the big waves that you guys are seeing just within the strands of hair, there's a lot of waves, so i thought it would look cute so, as you guys can see, i'm just bringing it down spraying some freeze spray. Whenever i need it, but the hair did really really good with me braiding it. So when you're braiding, your braid make sure you're flipping it over on the other side, just to make sure like it's not getting tangled or there's, not many flyaways so make sure you guys are checking as you go at the end. I'M going to go ahead and add a rubber band and then i'm going to go in with my scissors and cut away the flyaways. You don't want to dip this in hot water, because you're going to take all the texture from it and you do not want that to happen because they already hot water, set this hair. So now it's time to apply it to our hair. So i'm just going to attach it to my bun and i'm just making sure that the braid lands on top of my bun at the top, and you guys will see what i mean. Now that the braid is on the top. I'M going to go ahead and add in a bobby pin at the top and then one on each side to like hold the braid in place. If your bunny is a little bit bigger than mine, you might want to leave your braid a little loose at the top so that it will fit over your real bun. But, like you guys see i'm putting the two bobby pins on the sides to make sure that the braid is going to be nice and secure. Now that we have that all squared away with the last bundle i separated - and i took some of the hair out - i'm going to spray it with some freeze spray. So it doesn't freeze out on me and i'm going to put an open bobby pin in between the hair, as you guys can see, and we're just going to put that at the back. So you're going to stick that through the braid. I'M just going to wrap that hair around the base of the braid, and this is going to help secure the braid in place. So i'm going to keep wrapping and then once i get almost to an end point, i'm going to literally pin it into place and then i'm going to just pull the little piece. That'S still like sticking out and put it like around and that's what i'm doing here and i'm going to take some freeze spray and like spray it into place. So, at the end of the braid, where i put the rubber band, i'm just going to put this little gold cuff on there, which i thought was really cute. I'M going to spray my hair with some oil sheen, because gel makes your hair look dull, and this is the braid you guys. I love how it's curly on the end, it is just so cute. I really really like it. Y'All know. This style is definitely trending. I went ahead and added this headband that i got from my local beauty supply store, which i thought was so cute. I feel like it just pulled the look together, and this is like an up close of the braid and i like how it's curly. On the end super cute, so i hope you guys enjoyed this tutorial.
