Hey guys, it's Kiera welcome back to my channel, so in today's video I'm going to show you how to get your short natural hair into a really sleek low ponytail. So if you guys are interested in watching this, video just stay tuned, okay, guys! So we're going to go from this bomb little fro to this very sleek ponytail. The first thing that we're going to do is I started on cleaning here, just because I was going to blow-dry my hair. So I'm just going to take some coconut oil and generously apply that throughout, because we're going to use a lot of gel and it's going to be very drying on our hair. Then I'm just going to start to put my hair into sections and then I'm going to take this cheese, silk infusion and put that on each section of my hair. This is going to help your hair come out a little bit straighter and sleeker for the blow-dry, and then I'm going to detangle with a wide tooth comb and put that into a low ponytail and scrunch out all the extra water. If you start, if you want to you, can air dry your hair and make sure you keep your hearing your ponytail silicon stretch, but I'm going to blow-dry my hair. I find that my hair comes out straighter when I blow-dry it or you can even start on a three day, hair for the hair or whatever just make sure your hair is dry. And then I'm going to start by parting, my hair and putting one of my hair sections into a ponytail. Now this part is key. You want to take some gel and put it on the roots of your hair and take a brush and brush it down and just keep parting, your hair and in jail to the root and then taking your brush and kind of like flicking your hair onto each Other and this is going to help your hair stay down, it's sort of like when you're putting a relaxer in your hair or put in color in your hair. If you have color or dye - and this is how they do it - you have to take small pieces and you have to do section by section each section: you have to apply a generous amount of gel and each section you have to brush it down. That is what's going to keep your hair straight. That'S how you're going to get it like your sleep ponytail! So I'm just going to go through and just add my gel and yes, I did use a lot of gel. So really you don't need to wash your hair before you do this, but I didn't want to blow dry dirty hair, but yeah we're going to end up using a lot and don't worry about the product. Buildup we're as you brush your hair. It'S going to look white but as you brush your hair, the product buildup goes away so yeah. So I'm just especially adding a lot of gel to the top part of my hair, and unless you have finer hair or a looser curl pattern, you might be able to just lick your hair back easy with no problem just using a little bit of gel or Wet but I find that when my hair was wet, it was just too hard to try to get it in the straight Pony, so it just did not work for me, so I did it wet. I didn't want three-day-old hair and I did it on air dry hair and I find that low dry. It works the best. So next thing I did was just repeated the steps to both sides and I added some type of cream at the curl, enhancing smoothie or some type of cream based product and put it on top of my hair. I know it looks gross with all the product build-up, but I'm telling you this is how my hair ended up very soft and all you got to do is just keep brushing it out and all the white product build-up is going to go away and you want To mode it down with your hands and look already a lot of that white product boot up has gone away. So don't be scared. So then, I'm going to take my other ponytail and put it in so you should have a total of two ponytails in the back of your head and then once you get your hair into the two ponytails you're going to take like another scrunchie and kind of Put the ponytails together and make one ponytail, so if that makes sense, that's what I do it for my hair next step that I'm going to do is mowed it down some more with my hands. This just helps it stay down and in place, and then I'm going to take a brush and continue to mowed it down until I feel like it's as slick as I need it to be. This step is so important. You guys put a scarf on your head and either let your hair air-dry for today, for like 20 minutes or so or blow-dry it I blew dry mine cuz I have somewhere to be, and then after you take your scarf off, your hair should be laid down. Slick and straight like it should not be no hair out of place, and you can leave your hair like this. If you want and be done with it or you can add some weave, that's what I'm going to do. You can do a short ponytail. You go to a straight ponytail. You do a long ponytail. I already have my long ponytail prepped, so I'm just going to take two tracks and kind of like put them together and I'm going to take the tracks and wrap it around. My ponytail securing each like piece with a bobby pin. You want to be careful with these bobby pins because they hurt and you it's hard to like pinpoint the pain and then once I get about one bundle or so like or my hair as thick as I want it to be. I just take a piece of the hair and wrap it around the tracks. So no tracks are showing, and then you just take that piece and bobby pin it in place and then I'm going to just a tangle through my ponytail a little bit and add bobby pins to my hair is, I feel, like any parts are sticking up and Yeah, that's it and I put the bobby pins on my hair, not on the ponytail, okay guys. So that's how I got my hair in a super sleek ponytail and it lasted me all day. So that is a tutorial. I would like to say that you don't have to blow-dry your hair. You can do it on air dried hair, but make sure your hair is dry, wet, hair on short natural hair. It was just hard for me to get my hair in a ponytail when it was wet. When I do refresh my ears, oh you will want to add some water, like all you will need to do is just add some water to the top part, because the rest of your hair should already be molded down and just like, we brush it. So it should be easier, but I wouldn't suggest, like redoing all of those steps and all of that gel like for day two and day three. This is just to get it down the first time and then the second or third time just add some water to the top and just flick it back, and the scarf is key. You have to let it mold in a scarf you guys, when you're doing your hair like this and your hair's really short, really make sure you get a tight grip, because sometimes your hair will come out and that's the worst thing and nobody's going to tell you Your gel your brush and your bobby pins on you, you might want to even practice this a few times, so you can kind of see how your hair's gon na act and my hair did not even turn out is soft, because I put that eye cream. Over top of the jail, so it really made my hair kind of like smooth and soft. It'S not hard like you would think it would be. So if you guys like this tutorial - or you thought it was helpful down this video up - and let me know, leave me a comment for any question - I can help you out with I love helping.
