Ponytail Wig Tutorial (Mercy Overwatch)

Sorry my hair is wonky in the beginning, I was in desperate need of a trim XD So here's my new ponytail tutorial that I did on a Mercy wig. Here I go into how to re-weft a wig to better suit an up-do. Hope it helps!

So the first thing I did was I took away and I took all the wets out of this middle part. Here I put some netting that you can purchase online in there. Something important to do. Is I built a aluminum foil bump here? That was the size of the head that I'm using you want it to be pretty close to your actual head size in order for this to work. So once you take off all the lefts going to start, reattaching them and I'll show you how first take your weft and pin it into place. You want the hair to be facing the crown of your wig, so the weft lays flat when it's pulled into the up to pin it into a spiral pattern. The center should be where your ponytail or bun is going to go. You can leave a bit of a bald spot at the top, since having your wig be too thick can actually get in your way here. This next step that I'm doing is optional. I'M gathering the hair into a ponytail to cut off the extra hair. You want to leave a good two inches of a stub left over to make sure all the hair gets back in the ponytail. Later I set the cutoff ponytail to the side, then take the hair out of its elastics together and more nicely. This step is useful if you have a long wig, because it's much easier to gather a short wig into a neat. Looking ponytail once you take the hair out, gather it layer by layer into a ponytail. You want to smooth each layer with a comb hairspray each layer in place and secure each added bunch of hair with a small elastic for weeks like this, I am attaching a layer or two of wefts on the inside of the wig around the neckline. In my personal opinion, I like to have some short thin hairs coming out of the base of that, because it looks natural. This is up to personal preference for the ponytail, I'm taking bias tape. That'S the color of the character's hair tie and hot gluing fibers onto it in layers. Once I like how my wig looks, I put my hot glue gun in the wig stub and saturate it with glue. We want to make sure no fibers fall out. Then I can glue my ponytail extension onto the ponytail. Stop then just style is needed, so that's one more way to create a ponytail wig. I hope you guys liked the video. If you want to see more like it please check out my channel. I have a playlist full of tutorials and, like comment subscribe, thank you. You

Dan D'Adamo: Thanks for this video. I had no idea how to style my wig, and I've pretty much never styled a wig before, but to me, this isn't intermediate. I was daunted by "I started by taking all the wefts out of this middle part." To me this sounded like "I started by destroying my wig." Your wig came out awesome, and I really hope I don't screw mine up.

Lizzythekid: Oh wow dude, this is like genius. I never thought of taking out the hairs and re-sewing them in. This is great, nice job!! :)
