Hello, everybody. Today'S video is when to be taking extension placement. I thought in this video requested so many times. I'Ve done a few extension videos, but they've all been intertwined with color. So this video is going to strictly focus on teeth, teeth, placement and blending. So I'm actually going to be doing a lot of extension video for the next few months. I have some fun ideas. 45, so this is premier before we just save our fresh color. We color match your extensions. This is the hair that we're going to be using with the beautiful color and, I'm sure perfect, we're so excited. So if you are interested in watching how I please keep in tune okay, so I always start in the back of the head and brake light upwards. So right here, I'm starting in the center at the nape of the neck and it's very important to take any loose hairs that aren't actually sticking to the extension and pin them back like I just did, because any loose hairs trapped in between the two sandwiches is Going to cause breakage and slipping okay, my next section up is actually on an angle, and this is just going to make sure that it lays very naturally forward, because those corners are really tricky and we don't want to just pass three extension there. That makes sense. So I'm going to do it on an angle right here and then on an angle on the other side as well, and now that those three pieces are placed you can see right here we have begun to form our sectioning and our placement. As you can see, we have hold and we have gaps. So it's really nice, though, because now that we have those three pieces in, we can start to see where we need our next one. So I'm just working my way up, bricklaying again and I'm doing it in between those two sandwiches to fill in that gap and as you can see, it kind of helps, fill it in and then I'm going to do the same thing on the other side and I'M just working my way up filling in all the gaps it. Oh, yes, the, and I really like to utilize angling in all of my sections. I just have a few parts that I like to use ingles. The first was towards the bottom of the head. Like you saw before, and the second is right here - and you will see me - use ingles in a few other sections as we work our way up her head. The angles are nice because it allows your client to wear their hair up. It allows the hair to lay a little more naturally, and they can kind of move it around, rather than it just being on a straight placement angles help your client feel more comfortable. If that makes sense - and it helps to look look more natural, okay and now we're working our way to the front of the head and it's very important to connect the back with the front. So I always make sure I go in these corners behind the ear, because if you don't connect the back to the front, it's going to look really weird and it's not going to look blended. So my first piece is right behind the ear and, as you can see, I'm just layering it right there and then I'm just going to continue to Brickley from that piece forward and as soon as I get that one piece behind Aaron, I also like to do Another angle backwards above it and that way it covers a little bit towards the fret and a little bit towards the back. Since it's on an angle, it will kind of go either way and help fill in and down. Okay, and when I see Brickley I mean that each extension needs to overlap the other one, just by a little bit. So, as you can see, I figured out where my last extension extension was placed and now I'm just going to place the other one a little bit higher and a little bit overlaid. We don't want any space in between them because that's going to cause a gap in a separation, but if they are always like kind of covering each other a little bit, it's going to blend really smoothly make sure that there's no gaps. I hope that makes sense. These look, as you can see right here. It kind of flows together, and this is what makes it look really weighted, and now that I have those two pieces in I'm just going to go right about those two pieces centered and place one right there. Okay, now our angles are coming into play again. I love using angles around the face. A lot of clients always ask: can I wear my hair up with tape in and the answer is yes that they are placed correctly? So, since I'm placing on an angle if she were to pull her hair up or back, that angle is going to allow the hair to go with where she's pulling it up. If that makes sense, it's just a little more user-friendly. It'S easier for the client to put their hair up if it's it on an angle, because it's laying on a natural part, rather than just being straight forward, it's really hard to put it back. If it's your straight forward, I hope that makes sense. It makes sense in my head. I never know if it makes sense when I'm talking so yeah. I'M going to do that angle and then I have another one right here and this one's just centered to fill in any gaps as well. And then I will do one more angle around her face and I make sure you don't place it too close to the clients page unless they ask for that. Some clients want them close to fill in any breakage they may have, but if they like to wear their hair up, make sure you place it far enough top or they're still able to. We'Ve got to have our so delicious. It'S right next door and we get drinks every day, so don't mind the Assam. So now I am working my way to the either side of the head and I'm just doing the exact same thing. But I kind of took the camera a little further away so that you guys can see it from a further distance. And you can really see where I place them, so hopefully that helps it's kind of confusing when you first do this, because there's so many pieces of hair - and I feel like so many people get overwhelmed. But honestly, once you have this down, it's so simple and so easy and you will love doing deep ends, go away! Three, one: okay, Oh yes, okay and now that the general placement is done. I just go around her head and see where I need any more teeth in. I have a few pieces left, so this is where I like to just evaluate her hair and see where I need to place a little bit more okay enough teaspoons or something that you still struggle with, or a fifth video didn't make sense to you. I have created a map, and this is just a general placement guide and it's the back of the head at the right side of the head and the left side of the head, and this is just a general placement like I said you can get. This started with any client and then you can go back through and see where they need them, but I have found that this placement works pretty much for everyone and it's a really good placement for t-pins, no matter what kind of hair they have. So if you feel like this map would help you go ahead and screenshot, because I really feel like this helps me a lot when I was first learning and it's really helpful, just kind of get a placement guide. Okay - and I tell everybody when it comes to extensions - I have three golden rules. The first is that they are placed correctly, which we just went over. The second is that the client has enough hair. You don't want a client, it's like okay. I want a long thick full head of extensions, but I only want to buy one bag of cheapens. That'S not necessarily going to work. You need to make sure that the client knows how much hair they need to achieve the look they're going for. Yes, it's a little expensive up front, it's an investment, but if they want that hair they've got to be willing to buy all three or four bags or, however many bags they may need. Most clients will need two to three per head of full head of extension. But my mom here needed three and that's what we did and it looked amazing. So that's my second trellis that they have enough hair and then the third rule is blending. Blending is key to making sure that your extensions look, natural, blended and beautiful. So I start off by doing the baseline, just working my way around the head, getting her the length that she's going for and then i point cut a little bit to make the ends. Look a little more natural. These extensions are very thick towards the ends, which is great but point cutting, helps break them up a little bit and then I like to go through and slide around the face, and I always angle from her shorter layer down. I don't cut any of her own hair, but I use her hair as a guideline and then I just kind of leather, my way down creating layers in the hairs, but it blends very naturally with her own hair, and then I also like to do that in The back of the head you'll see me, do that here in a minute, but slide cutting toward her shortest layer down, really helps it. I you oh well, three walk you pretty, please thirteen years younger, oh yeah! Oh, please make your all times with her hair with her amazing. It was, it turned out beautiful. The color match is perfect, is here in Slovak and luxurious. We knew my video make sure to give it a thumbs up, don't forget to Like and subscribe and speaking of extensions. I have a new fight, an announcement coming your way Saturday. So four more days keep your eyes peeled for that. Actually, by the time this video goes other to be two or three days, but keep your eye open Saturday May 27th. I will be announcing something very exciting and I'm just going to give you one clue: let down your hair yeah, then

Nae_90♤: Also for those new to applying or getting tape extensions,be mindful that you dont put the tape RIGHT BEHIND the ear- when it grows out itll grow straight onto your ear and be irritating. Also keep in mind if You/ your client wears glasses to keep a gap between the tape and the ear so your/their glasses arent pushed off their face from their tape extensions.

kendrasurprise: I've been wearing and doing my own tape ins for five years now. Going to try this technique on myself tomorrow. Ahhhh. Pray for me haha

The Brilliant Diamond: I just had a class in tape ins yesterday. It was nice. I love your placement, looks so natural and it is more similar to the way I do other extensions.

Greta Rollins: Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge with us. You're hard work and dedication are such a refreshment and inspiration. I'm learning so much from you! ✂️

Tyler Davis: I love this video!! It was so informative! Thank you for helping me update my knowledge on extensions... I've been certified by Dreamcatchers for about 5 years or so and have been only been using I-Tips (since that's what they mainly covered) I'm excited to start using Tape-ins now!

Shelley Gregory: I know this video is older and probably has already been asked. But what brand of extensions and how long did the process take! Thank you! This video is really informative!

Samantha Kasperski: Jessi you are my hero lol I've been doing tape in for years&blending is always tricky but I understand why now the way u do brick laying and on angles it makes complete sense idk how you're the first person I've seen do this but it makes perfect sense I'm so excited to go do my hair now thank you so much! I know what I've been doing wrong I've paid over $100 an hour for a salon 2do it& they did everything on a straight line it didn't look right so I started doing it myself oh my gosh I can't say thank you enough it all makes sense now & my hair is going to look so beautiful thank u Jessi so for making this video

Alyssa S: I love you for doing this video! I want tape ins so bad but I'm a waitress so I have to wear my hair up and I was so nervous I wouldn't be able to wear it up without the extensions showing! Now I have to find someone skilled enough with extensions to put them in my hair! Keep it up with the extension videos!!! ❤️

Stef M.: This is definitely the best tutorial on tape ins that I've seen on here thus far! The pictorial is also a huge plus!

Rock ‘n’ Roll Rebel: Hiya! I realise this is an old video, but wanted to thank you for the great info as well as charts, placement tips- best video I’ve seen thus far! I’ve never used tape-ins, but back in the 80s when I got my license synthetic, wild extensions for Caucasian hair (quite a new concept then) were coming from London (might be able to google “Antenna” salon in London to see old photos- quite fun- *the* place to go, *think* developed that technique). Whilst on a visit in the early 80s (the $ & £ were nearly equal, bad for them, great for us) I had my black & green Mohawk done at Antenna, watched very closely to learn how they did it. When I got back I was the 1st & only hair/MUA that did this technique. I worked freelance, probably didn’t charge what I should’ve‍♀️ but did well & had fun, especially for all forms of media where I really got to go wild! (my portfolio destroyed in a flood nearly 20 years ago, so wish I still had it, so much fun hair/makeup & styling I did back then, would be fun to share!) Later I learnt how to do it w/ human hair (a little tougher). Point is, I’ve been doing, wearing extensions off & on since then, am curious to try these! I let my premature grey (since age 16) grow out far before grey became a massive trend; finally have found silver grey tape-ins & am dying to try (will help w/ a nonfiction book I’m writing as well) as I’ve always had thin hair + as I age it’s getting too thin, so fullness would be nice! I’ve seen people cut the tape-in in ½, which I think I’ll try for my thin hair, it’ll look more natural. Have you done this on people w/ thin hair? Does it look more natural? Another thing I’ve seen is using a flat iron to seal the adhesive, why don’t you do that? I understand if you don’t reply, as I know this is old. Will defo check more of your content. You did a fab job on your lovely mumma & it was refreshing to see this done on someone over 30! Thanks again, cheers! Jet ⚡️ PS sorry for the long comment, I’m an author/ writer taking a break from my novel, 2 nonfiction books & tend to be too verbose!

sarahgrace216: i would love to see a video for weft placement and how to determine how many wefts your client will need— i’m new to hand tied extensions and still a little fuzzy on knowing how many rows, how many wefts, where to place them etc.

Rebecca Rowey: I'm thinking of getting the tape ins and this helped me decide. Your mom's hair came out beautiful. Not sure if you're still looking at these comments, but my question is - can the tape extensions be used on the top of the head where I have breakage and thinning?

EvieOhNooo!: Does your application change at all for people with short hair, say shoulder length or above? Loved the video and I'm so excited about your extension line! Can't wait to get some!

Sun Flower: Hello Jessi ! your mother has beautiful thick hair without extensions !!

Lisa Timmons: Girl! You are a lifesaver. Your skills are amazing.

Megan G: Great video, thank you for the tips

Shelby J: You did very good job in placing it, What you're saying does make sense too. Thanks!

Candice Benton: This Is A Great Video! Her Sections Are Very FREE Form So I Can't Really Tell Where on the Head She's Working On! It's Important w/ Techniques Like These Where the Video Is About PLACEMENT..That There Is CLEAR Sections & Stop & Start Points! Especially, When Your Changing Directions...Just So a Beginner Can FOLLOW❤

Carey Sanchez: Hi Jessi! Just for clarification, each line on the photos you posted represent a "sandwich" (for lack of a better term) of two hair extensions, right? Thanks love! Your video has been the best, most educational video I've had the pleasure of watching!

Victoria Castleberry: Thank you so much for this video. Personally, this was the most informative video on tape in's that I have seen! :) So I have question, if I have a client who comes to get these and they have thin/fine hair, should I not go up as high as you did on your mom? Will they be more likely to show? Or should it be ok to go up that high? I hope I'm making sense lol.

Monic Ela: That was awesome very pretty

Briley Abbott: Every time I watch your videos, I consider traveling to you just so you can do my hair it would be so worth it!

Duchesss: Gorgeous..also anyone trying this at home remember if you wear sunglasses ..don't go near the ear

Susan Maria Gavaghan: Just fabulous. I have just ordered some tape in extensions.

Jade: She does not look old enough to be your mom! That shocked me when you said that. Beautiful ❤️

mstweet02: Looks good! How long does it last?

Kelly Newman: Hey Jessi! How many packs do you typically use for a full head?

Emily Reeve: Our salon uses Cinderella hair extensions and I'm looking for a new brand to try. What brand do you use? Awesome videos! ☺️

Courtney McAdams: Do you place it as close to the scalp as possible? Is there any irritation when the guest/ client puts their hair in a pony tail or up? I am always fearful of that

Dina Cartwright: You did amazing job on your mom I love you style girlfriend

Nicole Damon: Can you do a video showing the removal and raise up processes please!

S: Great vid! Your mom does look way younger w the extensions! Very pretty!

AnnessainFlorida: May I ask what brand(s) of extensions and also which brand(s) of tape / replacement tape do you use and/or recommend?

Molly S: How much do tape in extensions usually range?

jordan hampton: hey!! this video was super helpful!! i do have a question for you though. i ordered three packs of the donna bella tape ins and there are 10 pieces per pack. i am very small, have a small head, and my hair is short (a little past shoulders) and on the finer side. my hair stylists says three should be enough, but this would only be 15 sandwiches. do you think it will be enough?

Madeleine Trims: what would you recommend for when your natural hair underneath comes through? should i get more extensions to blend ? it's driving me crazy

Alexis Rushlow: What about when you have to replace them ? What technique do you use to make sure they go back in the right spot or similar spot

Нина. Разговоры с Ангелом: I like the way it looks. Good work!

Gillian Murray: OMG that's your mum??WoW she is Gorgeous Her hair looked incredible...still can't over the fact that its your mum...could easily be your sister loved this and super informative thankyou xxx

Marlen: so helpful thank you! what brand are the extensions?

megavolumequeen: How many grams of hair do you use normaly? I know it varies, but roughly how much? Thank you xx

Veronica Collins: Nice, love the way you added sporadically while brick laying, your mom look greatttt! Long hair is nice to you and all, thanks for the video

Maria Rodriguez: Love the length on her. Can you update if her head start to hurt from the weight? I'm 46, I had 3 packs of 14 inches put in and by the second to the third week they started to feel heavy and uncomfortable.

Crissy Vee: How many pieces did you use for her? Love it!!

Tan Cakar: she looked gorgeous ! nice video

Amy Rohr: Should tape in's be applied on freshly shampooed hair? I'm going to start offering this service next month and I need all the advice I can get. Her hair looks amazing btw!

Ursula Robinson: So good! Thank you xx

Tayla F: Wondering how you would do tape in placements for someone who often wears pigtails?

Lea Seberg Fladstad: Can tape extensions easily cause hairloss even when I have only used it once and gently tore them off my hair instead of extensions remover?

Chris: both so beautiful!

Nora: My hair is layered and cut into it (actually the ends look like I have never cut my hair in years... was an horrible haircut). Its quite coarse in the back so actually the cut into layers stick out. I dont want to have to cut it again and lose more length, as I would want extensions to grow out my hair. Do you think its still possible to blend the extensions in without at the end cutting my hair with the extensions (as you were slicing the hair in the back). Thank you!

isabel najera: I LOVE IT!

Liz Liz: Gorgeous!

Petrichor: On lighter hair I always find you can see the base of them unless you dye the roots darker to match the darker bits of hair at the person's root. Her roots aren't that light

Dieu Tang: Could I ask you some questions How different tape and weft hair extensions ? After you did tape extensions how long we can keep it ? How I can look after extensions for myself ?

Kira Keeley: I was taught to clamp gently with a straightener on low heat to set them. Did she have issues with them falling out?

Dana Dane: Your work is amazing

Adian Haupa: Final result should be on straight hair...waves always look correct and blends

Annie Gerard: Can you add tape in extensions to platinum micro foiled hair? Or will that cause too much breakage?

Mayra Morales: What is your recommendation on thinning hair on top and how to place the extensions?

Rebecca Reedy: So I live in st george and I go to taylor andrews hair acadamy and I just have to say, you are my idol! i love watching your videos and learning tips and tricks. I wanna be a color artist, i especially love doing blonde hair and you give me so much inspiration! I love it!

Chloe Buckallew: I loved it

queenie B: How much does this cost & how long does it take?

Sueme Pescalas: How often do you have to replace the tape on the hair? also ,do you have to keep buying the tape in hair or is it reusable?

Kelsie Adkins: Love this! What brand and length of shears do you have?

Lauren Hill: On average how may extensions do you use per client?

Daisy Beckett-turff: Did you use your own hair with this? How many grams did you use? Xx

katie depaola: Do you have a promo code for your extensions?

Berry J: i really liked the technique though i felt like it went to high up and close to the ear, but i think its a good technique that makes the hair blend in nicely :)

Annette: How much did you charge for this particular full head of tape ins

Nae_90♤: Ive noticed you dont do the 'lift' test? To see if there is enough movement between the scalp and where the tape lays so if someone wants to tie their hair back, they can comfortably?

M K: Do these damage your real hair? My hair is thinning now and I def don't want to make it worse. LOL

Susan Hummel: Very helpful tutorial, you're so talented, mom looks great! Off topic, but I also really enjoyed the music that you used, who is it by?

S: Oh what color, length, & brand are her extensions? They're perfect!

Von Page: Hello Jessi, I am interested in offering this technique to my clients... can you tell me more about this technique,,,buying the hair , removing it, and how much does it cost... also so the price for a full head of service....I looked up babe hair because a client called for it and I had to turn down the client because I did not know of babe extensions....

A person who has a Google account: If I did that, my hair would look crazy thin and you could tell I'm wearing extensions. I have to do bare minimum at least 8 sets which is 80 sandwiches.

Dulce Corazon Parducho dejan: hi . what if my hair on the left side is slightly undercut? can tape in hair extension can be applicable to that kind of hair?

Dani M: Love this vid. Constructive feedback, I found myself turning the music way down after you spoke then I'd have to crank it back up to hear you. -so much love.

Bad_news_bear: Please do a video on successful consultations !

Elianne Valles: hi :) what brand are the hair extensions?

rosilyn cornell: What curling iron are you using?

kanika Johnson: I burned the front of my hair with bleach and taking long to grow bk so I put these only a lil at the front and trimmed them into looking like i have a long graduate

Missval: What would be the appropriate amount to charge a client who supplies their own extensions, but just wants them installed and cut? I've been licensed 5+ years now

Cynthia Renfrow: great placement thank you
