Hey everyone, so in today's video I'm going to talk all about extensions, get a lot of questions for consultations on extensions and people seem completely confused and where they wouldn't even know which type of extension they would want. So I will be mentioning and showing you my two favorite so that you can then better, you know, choose what would be best for it, you and for your lifestyle. From my experience over the years, both from clients and myself, I've narrowed it down to simplify it. So the two types i've narrowed down to long term extensions and short term so and those are clip-in extensions for temporary use and tape and extensions for long term use so type in is what I currently have in my hair and, as you can see it's just This little piece that basically two West's of hair with tape or sandwiched together with a piece of my hair in the middle. So the extensions I'm using today, which have been my favorite for a while now in the extensions I do have in my hair right now, are from glam seamless. I will leave a detailed product and list in the description box down below. I also have a promo code for any of you that would like to try any of these extensions, and the promo code would just be le ll e, and that gets you 10 % off your entire purchase. Alright. So, like I mentioned, these are my two favorite ways of wearing extensions, so the clip in for temporary and the tape in for long-term and clip and extension is great for temporary. So basically you just kind of lift. You know piece of the hair and you clip it in place and then you can. Obviously this is a different color, I'm just showing you for application and it's a beautiful temporary look. So you just one extra length and volume for that day, but it goes on really easy and then you remove it for when it comes time to shampoo your hair or for sleeping and all of that. So it's definitely not a leave-in kind of thing. I will now do a demo of how you apply the tape and extensions, and just so you get a better feel of how it works on the hair and just how you would live with it in your hair. So I'm just going to show you this. So you can see how easy it is to do this just go ahead and apply that to the hair, leaving a little bit of space between the scalp and the tape. And that's because you want movement, you want it to move like regular hair and you want it to be comfortable of course. So the way tape ends work. Is you basically sandwich two tape and pieces together, so you sandwich your hair in the middle. So now I grab this this piece with the sticky side down and I apply two obviously right exactly on top of that other piece, and then you just apply pressure and there you go and the amazing thing with these is you can obviously you know work out In this you can shower with it. This tape is not going anywhere and it doesn't pull on the hair so because it is sandwiched between like two pieces of tape, the hair in here is actually super safe and secure. Basically, it causes absolutely no damage to your existing hair. The hair itself can take Heat, you can curl it, you can tone it, you can diet, and so, when you do heat style and flat iron or curling iron, just you know, keep the heat away from the tape. You just don't want to melt the tape into your hair and, to me the most important thing about long-term extensions is the removal process and that that's a really big thing. The removal of tape and extensions is it's the easiest to do. I feel that as I'm removing it I'm causing no harm or damage to the person's existing hair. Alright, so thank you so much for watching. As always, please subscribe if you haven't. I hope this video has answered so many of your questions and I hope that if you have ever dreamt of having a longer thicker, more voluminous hair - and you know, you've just kind of been holding back and you know not knowing if this is for you, I Hope that this has encouraged you and inspired you to maybe finally go through with it. So don't forget to check out the links I've left in the description box and as always, thank you so much for watching and I will see the video bye

Pam Ravenscroft: My sister developed traction alopecia from tape-ins and her dermatologist said that anything attached directly to the hair can pull it out despite careful handling and removal. It is extra weight on your hair. She now uses Halo extensions which sit like a head band and do not attach to the hair. Those are truly the only damage-free extensions.

Liliana: Even though I think Elle is disingenuous and after the money, Glam Seamless is one of the best hair and tape ins ever I've ever had installed or used. I've done both their tape ins and clip ins. Gorgeous hair, but so pricey, but worth it.

Anna A: @ellebangs Thanks a million for your amazing videos :) This may be a stupid question, but what do you think about the great length method (which uses keratin to apply the extensions) and the Mago method (which uses cotton threads)? I have been hearing good things about them, but never from a professional.

ellebangs: The removal process for tape-in extensions is so so easy!! You just  need the tape removal solution. And they just slide out!  NO breakage or pulling on the hair!

Emily McDonald: How do you put your hair up without seeing the tape or having it stick out? Also how hard is it to avoid the tape when straightening/curling your hair?

Raluca Tarcea: Hey Elle, I'm wondering how long do tape ins last? Can you use them again once you take them off? I'm currently using micro rings ones and I like that when my hair grows, I can take them off and put them back in. Is that possible with tape ins?

Tiffany Hernandez: Hi, the video definitely helped. For thin hair what would you suggest from glam seamless. The one weft tape in or the individual ones?

passionist: Iff you loved the tape in you should also check out the skinweft tape in, they are more flexible and almost invisible on the hair ! its like it grows out of the scalp :)) Your so cute and pretty and smart Silvia !,loves xoxo

SuZet Rides an Andalusian: I've had tape-in and never again because they DO cause breakage at the 'sandwich' site. It can be so bad you end up with a bald spot until your hair grows out. I prefer clip-ins. No damage there.

Random Person: I had tape ins for about 8 1/2 months. Overall I wouldn't recommend them. I would rather go with a beaded sew in weft, because I don't have to worry about the adhesive getting sticky or tacky from conditioning or from swimming etc.

frazee1: absolutly loving the blonde hair color..cant wait for the video on how you are doing now..its beautiful :)

I_am mariami: I install and remove my extensions myself. Its very simple, but requires patience. :)

Megan Schultz: So informative! Did not even know that tape in extensions were an option

jazzythekid: I haven't seen this asked yet (sorry if you've already answered this), but about how long would you at tape in extensions last? Does long term mean a month, or potentially even longer?

Cari Hochbein: I would love to see you do a dark hair/highlight demo similar to what is on your model. Pleease!  :) I love your videos, but have dark hair!

Estrella Luna: For my first time using extensions what do you recommend tape in or sew in? I want long-term

LydiaTylerxxx69: Is there any chance of you doing a tape-in placement video? I have fine hair and would love your advice on how to place extensions for natural look.

TheBebe2483: What is the removal process for tape extensions....great video as always

Jamie Leigh: Do you recommend going to a salon to get tape in extensions? Or if I purchase them do you think I can do it on my own?!? If you could do a tutorial for tape in (full head), that would be awesome!!! :)

Tati G: Thank you as always for the video! I just have one question though. If you need to blow out your hair because close to the scalp is where my daughter has some curls, how can I do it with this tape extensions? Ty❤️

MsRoula Kay: omg thank you so much for the advice!!! going to try the seamless glam one's :D you're so beautiful!

Dr. Sun: Are not they damaging to dry curly hair? I had them for few days and my hair was a mess

Aimee Jones: how many pieces/packs are needed for a full head? thanks xoxo

twominutetips: Agree with you wholeheartedly about the clip-in extensions.

BELLASLOVE06: Love all ur videos. Could you please please do one on curly hair. Products or tips ???

Monika Boonzaayer: Do you still consider glam seamless tape ins a quality go to brand?

Headless Eyes: How long do they last before having to put them back on again?

Person Lastname: Do you think you could do a video showing how to cut extensions into short hair so it doesn't look obvious that there are extensions?

Rfamily: as a new stylist what company would you suggest getting certified through

LilyBirdLifts: thank you for this video! going to have a consultation today...very informative.

Missi Casey: Hi there, I do apologize as I know this video was quite a long time ago, but can you tell me if you are still currently using this brand of extensions? Thank you so very much in advance....Missi XO

T S: How many packs of hair do you use to achieve this look?

Stacy Boorn: Hello Sylvia, I forgot to ask you what color you bought in the extensions ?? That's the color that I would get ... Thanks :)

Cami Bozeman: I tried tape and didn't get good care instruction on them so they didn't last me more than a couple of weeks. too much conditioner at the scalp will loosen the tape glue and they started falling out in public...humiliating. Yours seem further away from your scalp than mine were. what are your recommendations for placing and spacing?

Jennifer Shannon: How many packs did you use on your hair?

Tiffany: GREAT VIDEO CHICK!! ❤️ I LOOVE them hair extensions!!!! Tape ins are awesome!!

Tracy: Have you tried luxy extensions? I haven’t found a comparison of glam vs luxy I really want the volumizer weft that luxy has I didn’t see that glam has one for clip ins but I think glam comes in more grams for seamless than luxy.... oh decisions I need help! Btw thank you for so many great videos! You are so kind and beautiful!

Noneyah G: What clip in brand is your favorite?

Jessica Menjivar: Hi @ellebangs! I just discovered your channel and I'm obsessed!! I was wondering if you could help me in something. I have black hair and for the summer I want the exact same hair you had in your "How to go from Brunette to Blonde hair." You can email me if you'd prefer, I just don't have the money to pay for a professional hair coloring. How would I get my hair from black to that color?

sharon muller: i don't like the look of tape in and the feel of them-always felt they were going to fall out,I love micro loop- they are brilliant and with top quality hair they will last for months and months.Go Chloe Luckin.

Diana O: Are they reusable?

A_Vets_Life: You are so amazing. I love how you explain things. You are very knowledgable. I wish you could do my hair. How long can you have the tape extensions in for?

Sarah Perkins: What is average cost to do tape in hair extensions? I live in north bay and would travel for appointment

Denise lubken: Would the tape in come out with putting conditioners or coconut oil in your hair and leaving it over nite?

victoriad1127: I have clip in's and I want better extentions! Maybe my next step should be the tape in's ? Thanks for the info

Regina Semenenko: I am very interested in tape in extensions. But I have low density thin and fine hair. The extensions I have seen are for stronger and thicker hair. So, they would look very fake instead of like my real hair. How can I find human hair extensions that match my hair texture and density?

Ladyofthewoodsasmr: I had those before tape in ones. And they didnt last that long what products did u use to keep them nice for a long time. Mine got bad quick

Jessica Lopez: How do you take the tape extensions off?

Hannah Nye: Did you use one pack or two on your hair?

Marie Marin: Darn I thought you were going to show the removal process!

moma22211: Hello, great video as always! What it the brand and model of your watch? It's beautiful!

Janet Morris: Can you do a video on how to stop frizz I have this problem when I straighten my hair it ends up all puffy and frizzy soon after!

Cassie Greulich: With tape in extensions when you out your hair back in a ponytail or bun are you able to see the tape?

Sabine Kreuz: can you Show how to remove tape in and Clip in extensions?

Janeth Gabriel: Are the tape in reusable?

TheNicole779: I'm pretty good with hair-can I do my own tape in extensions?

MsSimsation: Hi there, I also put a comment on an other video of yours. I'm a bit stalking sorry. But I have a little problem. I saw your video that you explained how to tone brassy hair. The wella toner is not available in my country. Do you have any alternatives for the t18? Same with the developer. But I found some other for that i guess :) I hope I'll hear from you.

Kate Cox: How are they removed though :)

Stacy Boorn: I'm going to buy those tape in extensions when I get my paycheck !!!

Megan Corbin: Hi Silvia, how many packs do you have on your head in this video ? Many thanks in advance!

Terezinha Marques Lima Oliveira: hiper bacana adorei

Jaclyn Ashworth: i want tape in extensions but i have gone from brown to blonde and i am wondering if there is a way to touch up my roots after having them and if its super hard should i just go back brown (i don't mind myself with brown hair i just wanted a change)

Bekah Ybarra: Question would they go really good with natural curly hair? Thats what is making me not get them bc of that reason.... recommendation please

Mel Zabes: Do you have any halo extensions you recommend?

abbie rivers: I wished she would have shown how she removes the tape ins

Ladyofthewoodsasmr: I can not find any information on what hair extensions are coated with...out of curiosity do you know?

Dominika Dylag: Hi. I just saw you on Fox5! They showed a few seconds of your " drugstore makeup challenge" video

Sintiche van Aardt: The link for the extensions isn’t working. Thank you so much. Love you videos. Been watching you for a while now

JC JC: My favorite on line stylist !

Caroline K: Normally love your videos and I'm interested in extensions but couldn't make it thru the whole video.. Way too choppy editing. No need to do that just talk and who cares if you ramble or mess up- we are here to learn from you not to get a production

stephanie Blairrr: Can you put your hair up with tape ins

thatdamnstarship: so basically those who use heat when applying tapes are doing it wrong then?

MRS. O: I assume this is less itchy than kertatin fused,

Ashlee Howard: Soooooo HOW DO YOU REMOVE IT????

Robin K: This is probably a stupid question, but I have naturally curly hair.  If I get hair extensions that are curly, if I straighten them at any time, they are not going to get the curl back right?  I feel like this is a dumb question, but I know so little about extensions!  Thanks and I love your channel!!

NoICantGetUTickets: I have to admit. I didn't like u when I first started watching ur videos. I thought u were "stuck up", but now I realize I confused totally sweet, innocent & soft spoken for "snooty". U are sooo beautiful I'm sure that's sadly why I was quick to judge u which I complain about & then turn around & did it to someone else!!. U are sooo beautiful, so sweet, & I thank u for sharing all ur great hair & makeup knowledge for free to ur subs. I really appreciate it!! & any hate comments are just jealous idiots. U R great!!!.
